Well, people who know me, also know that i never liked the chanting tradition of buddhists. Here you can read pro and crontra about it :)

Crusty Goldshark: I am in the UK - I now have a javascript that shows the time and P&B times - but not yet the Zen times - so I get them wrong and turn up to do Tai chi

Crusty Goldshark: P&B had a note thing - forget name and I just posted that into the web page - I get email alerts about the zen times but have not found the complete pattern - if there is one . .

Moon Fargis: dunno, just noticed serious asset server problems with errors that appear and then my teleports failed and land information didnt worked out..aso

Crusty Goldshark: m m m . . . been trying my hand at building - thought I would start with the elements and a stupa . . .

Crusty Goldshark: No I am starting with cube (earth) globe water etc

Crusty Goldshark: I am at the stage of familiarising myself with the tools - not anywhere yet . . .

Crusty Goldshark: I prefer YinYana which makes use of the 5 elements from ChenYen Buddhism
Crusty Goldshark: The 5 Elements are used in the design of Stupas
Crusty Goldshark: The only specific Zen meditation I have done is during martial Art training and Sufi retreats

Moon Fargis: well he was also a zen monk and then a abot of a monastery , antaiji, he follows the way of "just sit" or "just do"

Moon Fargis: yes chanting is something i dont feel well

Moon Fargis: hmm i see no meaning in chanting sentenses over and over again until they sit and starting to become meaningless becasue you chanted them so often
Crusty Goldshark: LOL - that to me is the whole point - 1. Trance induction, breathing, voice training, healing, breathing, sound vibration etc

Crusty Goldshark: 2. Alignment with 'the intentt' or 'The force'
Moon Fargis: ahh "the force"
Crusty Goldshark: 3. Just chant
Crusty Goldshark: 4. The Chanting is silent even when having a form
Moon Fargis: well i think no chanting for me is more silent :) but good to know why you like it :)
Crusty Goldshark: 5. Any action is meaningless when empty of intent and that is its meaning - must be a Zen thing . . .
Crusty Goldshark: 6. Emotioanl release and satisfaction - keeps the monkey mind occupied and satisfied
Crusty Goldshark: 7. Good for bears
Crusty Goldshark: 8. You develop a deeper laugh when chanting . . .
