Pema posted this chat log, after receiving the text from Lia.  If somebody would like to add comments, or change the title I attached to it, please feel free to do so!

    Wol Euler: hello arch!
    Archmage Atlantis: Hello Wol
    Archmage Atlantis: :)
Wol Euler: how are you this morning?
    Archmage Atlantis: Awake again
    Archmage Atlantis: And you?
    Wol Euler: mostly awake
Wol Euler: I slept right through the alarm clock, didn't take my 1am session today :(
Archmage Atlantis: I know.......I was 45 min late there
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: this is Adams' session, isn't it?
Wol Euler: or is that Sunday?
Archmage Atlantis: Pema had already been and claimed the log, but we talked another 45 min, so I claimed it back
Archmage Atlantis: Um, don't know without looking at the wiki
    Wol Euler: heheh
    Wol Euler: not to worry
Wol Euler: I'll take it if nobody else does
    Archmage Atlantis: Ok
Archmage Atlantis: I had something weird happen a week or so ago.......I couldn't see my av, just a cloud.......everyone there said they could see me
Wol Euler nods. That has been happening to me the last few days, since the server software upgrade
Wol Euler: rebaking solves it for me
Archmage Atlantis: Then later, I was shown a pic of what everyone else was seeing
Wol Euler: how did you look?
Archmage Atlantis: It was me, but with a feminine look, breast ..... a typical female body.....I don't have any female av's, so I have no idea how it happened
Wol Euler: ah, you were "ruthed" :)
Archmage Atlantis: Same clothes as I'm whereing now
Archmage Atlantis: Oh, it's a know phenomena?
Wol Euler: that is a server database problem, when it can't find your proper shape it displays the default -> a woman commonly known as Ruth
Wol Euler: (don't know why they call her that)
Archmage Atlantis: Ah, so much for the mystical explanation *chuckle*
Wol Euler: she is the ur-avatar, our common root ancestor
    Archmage Atlantis: Funny
Wol Euler: well, a scientific explanation doesn't mean that there is no mysticism at work :)
Wol Euler: if one believes that God made the world, why not believe that he also made science?
    Archmage Atlantis: Agree
    Wol Euler: good morning, Xir
Archmage Atlantis: But why Ruth, not Eve, I wonder :)
Wol Euler: perhaps that is where the mysticism comes back in
    Xirana Oximoxi: hello all :)
    Archmage Atlantis: Hi, Xirana
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Arch:)
Wol Euler: what was your previous mystical explanation for being in a female body, Arch?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone
    Xirana Oximoxi: hello Yaku:)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hi again bruce
    Xirana Oximoxi: hello Bruce:)
    Wol Euler: hello bruce, yaku
Archmage Atlantis: I hadn't thought one up yet, Wol
Bruce Mowbray: Good day, Yaku, Xirana, Arch, and Wol!
Archmage Atlantis: Hi, Bruce.....I was just telling Wol about the picture you took of my cloud the other day
    Archmage Atlantis: Hi, Yaku
    Bruce Mowbray: ha ha!
Archmage Atlantis: He had a name for it
    Archmage Atlantis: Being Ruthed
Bruce Mowbray: One of those "extraordinary things" hiding among the "ordinary"?
Wol Euler coughs. "she" if you don't mind.
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Bruce Mowbray: I've noticed that no one seems to have trouble determining Rhia's gender.
    Wol Euler laughs
Archmage Atlantis: I liked Wol's explanation
Archmage Atlantis: [07:13] Wol (wol.euler): she is the ur-avatar, our common root ancestor
Wol Euler: that must be it, my boobs are too small.
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: :))
Archmage Atlantis: Sorry, Wol, I usually use e, or the name......gender is kinda tricky in sl
    Wol Euler nods.
Bruce Mowbray: "tricky" - to say the least!
Yakuzza Lethecus: actually sartre also became ruthed and the eyes are still as white as ruth hers
Yakuzza Lethecus: weired how this default avi from past times still lives on in the second life
    Wol Euler nods
Wol Euler: rather like in our biology, we still have the ancient reptile brain stem pretty much intact
Yakuzza Lethecus: being reptile ? :)
Wol Euler: the cerebellum tries to hold it on a leash. When anger or fear flash out, that's the amygdala talking.
Bruce Mowbray: Mmmm.. Did you know that Freud and his followers have based their three ego states (Id, Ego, and Super-ego) on the three impulses of the brain stem?
Archmage Atlantis: Yea, like that.......not so much a plan as a directed accident....the preservation of older parts in the background
    Wol Euler nods.
Bruce Mowbray: Fight, Flight, and Freeze. . .
    Wol Euler: huh
Bruce Mowbray: which for present day Freudians translates to Parent, Adult, Child..
    Xirana Oximoxi: I didn't know :)... interesting...
Bruce Mowbray: or for Karen Horney -- to Mastery, Love, and Freedom.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I find it a fascinating lineage --
Wol Euler frowns. I don't see how the latter fit in that scheme.
Archmage Atlantis: Always a triad......even in the Vedas
    Wol Euler: which is which?
Bruce Mowbray: From brain stem impulses that all animals seem to have into present-day "civilized" behaviors that all humans seem to have.:
    Bruce Mowbray: Love, Mastery, Freedom.
Wol Euler: the child is free? that feels odd somehow. I'd have said Mastery, Freedom, Love - but even that feels a bit forced
Bruce Mowbray: OK. Freedom (aka "Flight impulse")
Archmage Atlantis: Multiple meanings of freedom, I suppose......higher and higher states of being free.......
Bruce Mowbray: Mastery/Power (aka "Fight impulse" - superego) and Love (aka "Freeze impulse - ego)
Archmage Atlantis: somewhat like Maslow's hierarchy
    Wol Euler: how fascinating :)
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, freedom can be everything from mystical ecstasy to simple not feeling constrainted.
Wol Euler: I see Freedom as more akin to freezing: no need to act.
    Wol Euler: no compulsion
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, similar to Maslow. . . although he would say there is a "priority" -- and the Freudians do not.
    Bruce Mowbray: interesting, Wol.
Bruce Mowbray: OK -- one more thing:
Bruce Mowbray: Freedom -- the appeal is toward "moving away from) (flight)
Bruce Mowbray: Power -- the appeal is to moving over and against (fight)
Bruce Mowbray: Love -- the appeal is toward moving toward and union (freeze).
Archmage Atlantis: So, in that way, a compulsion is a form of being restrained
Wol Euler: compulsion is definitely un-free, yes.
Bruce Mowbray: Well, I think the neo-Freudians would call a compulsion any powerful and habitual impulse -- in any of the three appeals.
Bruce Mowbray: You could have a love-compulsion, or a power-compulsion, or a freedom-compulsion (mine, btw).
Bruce Mowbray: Each of these can also be highly refined. . and noble, of course.
    Bruce Mowbray: not compulsive.
Archmage Atlantis: kum ba ya my lord.......oh wait, this is a fountain, not a scouting campfire *g*
Bruce Mowbray: A great musician "masters" the instrument.
    Wol Euler laughs.
Bruce Mowbray: A profound lover unites whole populations.
    Wol Euler nods.
Bruce Mowbray: A profound freedom person -- might be a great mystic.
Bruce Mowbray: sometimes they combine (Rumi, for example -- love and freedom)
Bruce Mowbray: Just one more thing and then I'll promise to sit on my hands...
Xirana Oximoxi: I see ..I have a lot of things to learn :)
Bruce Mowbray: The three major world religions also follow this patterN:
Bruce Mowbray: Christianity (love) - Islam (power) - Eastern (freedom)
Bruce Mowbray sits on hand, as promised.
    Wol Euler grins.
Archmage Atlantis: That's ok Bruce, I've been looking up quotes from the book of Ruth, trying to uncover the mysticism Wol asked me about
    Wol Euler: :)
Wol Euler: it is one of my favourite books of the Bible
Archmage Atlantis: But if I keep going, I might as well be reading Jules Verne, Journey to the Center of the Earth *g*.........or maybe looking for Ewya
Archmage Atlantis: I think that was a cry for leavity....things are getting sorta heavy
    Bruce Mowbray: onigokko
    Wol Euler: stop
    Archmage Atlantis: :)
    Wol Euler: onigokko
    Wol Euler grins.
    Bruce Mowbray: stop
Wol Euler: Xir, do you have an onigokko?
    Xirana Oximoxi: no, I think I don't :)
    Wol Euler: you do now
Xirana Oximoxi: is it the dance?
Wol Euler: just wear it, its invisible
Wol Euler: and totally harmless, until somebody says the magic word :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: ok:)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: lolli
Archmage Atlantis: Ok, think I'm all animationized for the next performance *g*
    Xirana Oximoxi: hehe
Xirana Oximoxi: that's onogoko... or lollipop???
Bruce Mowbray: Whaaaaaa! I want a lollypop kid, too!
Archmage Atlantis: The wiz is wiz is a wiz because
Yakuzza Lethecus: i thoght i´ve given you one
Wol Euler: that aws the lollipop, Xir
    Xirana Oximoxi: ty:)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: lolli
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)) it's fun:)
Bruce Mowbray: Thanks! That did my "inner child" good!
Xirana Oximoxi: and if I say the word... everybody will dance?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: yes
    Xirana Oximoxi: ah lol
Yakuzza Lethecus: also if you say, just "onigokko"
Wol Euler: try it and see :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: onigokko
    Wol Euler chuckles.
    Bruce Mowbray: stop
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Archmage Atlantis: Can an av be out of breath?
    Xirana Oximoxi: hehe yessss
Archmage Atlantis: good, this one is
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: aflac
Xirana Oximoxi: Whaaaaaaaaa... I want an 'aflac' too!!
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Bruce Mowbray: I gave you onw, Xir.
    Bruce Mowbray: one.
    Xirana Oximoxi: ty:))
Archmage Atlantis: Wol, how do you do that "rebake" thing?
    Wol Euler: ctrl-alt-r
Archmage Atlantis: must not work in phoenix
Archmage Atlantis: or I have my keyboard reassigned, who knows
Wol Euler: perhaps you need to open the Advanced menu first. ctrl-alt-d
    Archmage Atlantis: brb
Bruce Mowbray: The advanced menu is only in V2 - not Phoenix.
Wol Euler: there is so an advanced menu in phoenix!
Wol Euler: *if* you enable it
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hello observerm
    Xirana Oximoxi: hello observem
    Bruce Mowbray: wb, Arch.
    Archmage Atlantis: Hi, O
Yakuzza Lethecus: xirana just type "aflac"
    Xirana Oximoxi: aflac
    Bruce Mowbray dies from laughing....
Bruce Mowbray: aflac works better if you're standing up before starting it.
Bruce Mowbray: also -- "dies from laughing" does too.
    Wol Euler nods.
    Xirana Oximoxi: ok :)
Archmage Atlantis: jumps up for safety
Bruce Mowbray: are we ready for aflac?
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes:)
    Bruce Mowbray: or oni?
    Bruce Mowbray: or dies laughing?
    Wol Euler: shhhhhhhh
    Bruce Mowbray: [silence]
    Xirana Oximoxi dies from laughing....
    Xirana Oximoxi: awwww sorry:)
Yakuzza Lethecus: that reminds me of these groups whom are just comming together to laugh, well a smile isn´t that bad sometimes :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: or of course a good laughter
Archmage Atlantis: Somehow we managed to go from totally serious to toally silly :)
    Wol Euler grins.
    Archmage Atlantis: Yw bell
    Bruce Mowbray: aflac
Xirana Oximoxi: with silly we can learn a lot of things too :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: hehe... nice:)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: thx, everyone
    Bruce Mowbray: onigokko
    Bruce Mowbray: stop
    Wol Euler: bye yaku
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Yaku!
    Archmage Atlantis: Bye Yaku
Bruce Mowbray wonders what his brain stem thought of all that.
Archmage Atlantis: Time for me to depart also.......Good session :)
    Wol Euler: :)
Wol Euler: bye arch, enjoy the day
Bruce Mowbray: also wonders what Observerm though of it.
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Arch!
Wol Euler: he's a quiet one.
    Xirana Oximoxi: bye Arch
Xirana Oximoxi: I will go too... thanks for this nice time and have a nice day:)
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Xir!
Bruce Mowbray: have a good weekend.
Wol Euler: bye xir, enjoy the weekend
    Xirana Oximoxi: bye:)
Bruce Mowbray: Every since reading Karen Horney's book "The Neurotic Personality of our Times" -- written during the 50's - I've been exploring that Love/Power/Freedom thing.
Bruce Mowbray: The more I chase it down the road, the more fascinating it's ramifications.
    Wol Euler nods.
Bruce Mowbray: It's especially interesting when brought into Buddhist methods.
Bruce Mowbray: (for me, I mean).
    Wol Euler nods.
Bruce Mowbray: but I can surely see how others might find it tedious.
    Wol Euler grins.
Wol Euler: boredom is in the mind of hte beholder
Bruce Mowbray: I am SUCH a Freedom guy.
Bruce Mowbray: That's my "compulsion" I guess I'd have to say.
    Bruce Mowbray: Good morning, Luci!
    Bruce Mowbray: love your slippers!
Wol Euler: hello lucinda, happy new year
Lucinda Lavender: Happy new year to you both:)
Lucinda Lavender: did not mean to materialize in the midst...
    Lucinda Lavender: ah welll
Lucinda Lavender: may I ask a question of a technical nature?
    Wol Euler: of course :)
    Wol Euler: geeks r us
    Lucinda Lavender: thanks:)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Lucinda Lavender: if I have an im can I return to it to get information?
    Wol Euler: maybe :)
Lucinda Lavender: or do I need to go into logs on my computer
Wol Euler: if you previously enabled saving IM and chat to disk, in your preferences, then yes
Wol Euler: the latter, it's now only on your hard disk somewhere
    Wol Euler: if anywhere
Lucinda Lavender: I believe I have...
Bruce Mowbray: in V2 -- That's Preferences - then Chat -- thn about halfway down in that window.
    Lucinda Lavender: ok just checked
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: That will create a mini-folder for each of your IM's - under the name of the av that you IM'd with.
Lucinda Lavender: I see a pathway of users/my name/library/cache listed under set up
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, that's where you'll find it on your hard drive -- That can be reset (cleaned) or put in a different placeof your choosing.
Wol Euler: it's odd for it to be in cache, that is a bit dangerous IMHO
Lucinda Lavender: looking in that pathway I see listed some things that need an application to open...
Wol Euler: the point of caches is that they get cleared out from time to time
Lucinda Lavender: ah...maybe I need to clear it then
Wol Euler: do they have names like 618546786526243598216216
    Wol Euler: ?
    Lucinda Lavender: good to know
    Wol Euler: no!
Wol Euler: check first that your log files are NOT there!
Wol Euler: the log files should be plain text, no application needed
Bruce Mowbray: I have everything related to Second Life go into one large folder -- then sub-folders under that for separate items, like photos, logs, etc.
Wol Euler: you'll have one called "Wol Euler" for example
Bruce Mowbray: yes, logs should be in plain text -- and you can also choose whether to have the time stamp. . . or not.
Wol Euler: right, but if the chat logs are currently in the cache folder, and Luci clears thazt folder ...
    Bruce Mowbray: yepper -- poof!
Lucinda Lavender: what...what all goes poof?
Wol Euler: look at the files in cache, Luci. Do they have sensible names of real people, or do they have abstrract names?
Bruce Mowbray: Do NOT put them in your cache folder --
Wol Euler: one at a time here, else Luci will get lost :)
    Bruce Mowbray will be silent.
Wol Euler: look at the files in cache, Luci. Do they have sensible names of real people, or do they have abstrract names?
    Lucinda Lavender: looking.
Lucinda Lavender: what I see are strings of numbers with letters mixed in
Wol Euler: those are indeed cache files, that's ok
Wol Euler: so your logs must be somewhere else.
Wol Euler: you are on a mac, right?
    Lucinda Lavender: yes:)
Wol Euler: default location is (your mac user name)/Library/Application Support/SecondLife
Wol Euler: the private library in your home directory
Lucinda Lavender: I remember your help once before long ago on this Wol...thank you for this both of you ...again!
Lucinda Lavender: ok...will go there ..will write that pathway down
    Lucinda Lavender: great...finding this ...
Wol Euler: you'll see a lot of folders, one is called "Lucinda Lavender"
Wol Euler: it shold contain all your log files
Lucinda Lavender: is this the cache I should not clean?
Wol Euler: it's not a cache.
Wol Euler: and you should definitely NOT clear it.
    Lucinda Lavender: folder...
    Lucinda Lavender: ok
    Lucinda Lavender: wondering...
    Wol Euler: mmm?
Lucinda Lavender: well...there are names listed here of 2LPeople
Wol Euler: as text files? doubleclick on one, you should see your convesration with them
Lucinda Lavender: wow...the whole history of words spoken
    Wol Euler grins
Wol Euler: open the "local chat" file and scroll right down, check that our last words are there too
Wol Euler: do NOT save the file, just close it
Wol Euler: saving should not be a problem, but might mess up SL's write access
Lucinda Lavender: hmmmdo not see the words local chat
Wol Euler: no, that's a file name
    Wol Euler: localchat.txt probably
    Wol Euler: sorry, just "chat.txt"
Lucinda Lavender: yes I can see this conversation appearing ther in the chat txt as it appears
Wol Euler: good, so your logging is running properly.
Wol Euler: and the files are in the place where they should be
Lucinda Lavender: will im's be in there do you think?
Wol Euler: yes, there will be a file named "personWhomYouSpokeTo.txt"
Wol Euler: your IMs with them are in that fi9le
    Wol Euler: *file
Bruce Mowbray: I was once kicked out of a sim - by accident.
    Wol Euler: mmm?
Bruce Mowbray: I used the IM's record to prove that I had NOT said what the sim's owner thought I'd said. . .
    Wol Euler nods and smiles.
Bruce Mowbray: and he immediately apologized and let me back in.
Bruce Mowbray: (although I never went back there).
Wol Euler: it's very good to have logs
    Lucinda Lavender: that is nice...
Bruce Mowbray: So the logs/chat/IM's records can be helpful.
    Bruce Mowbray: Oh - Wol?
    Wol Euler: mmm?
Bruce Mowbray: I have cleared mine a couple of times with no prob.
Lucinda Lavender: interesting under the persons name are older chats
Wol Euler: sure, clearing cache is fine IF the cache folder contains only cache files!
Bruce Mowbray: and a month ago, my entire computer hard drive crashed -- so I had to start over. . no problem.
    Bruce Mowbray: OK.
Bruce Mowbray: I understand what you meant now.
Bruce Mowbray: Time for me to get on the treadmill.
Bruce Mowbray: May you both have a happy weekend.
Wol Euler smiles. Run well, bruce, and have a good weekend
    Lucinda Lavender: yes!
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye for now.
Wol Euler: ah, *only* old chat, not the new one you remember?
    Lucinda Lavender: yes
    Wol Euler: hmmm
Wol Euler: then logging IMs has probably been turned off in your preferences
Wol Euler: let me log off and come back in Viewer2.
    Lucinda Lavender: ok
    Lucinda Lavender: thanks so muchWol!
