druth Vlodovic: sitting up like this, with my hands primly tucked, I feel alert and nervous lol

Archmage Atlantis: It's a comfortable place
Archmage Atlantis: I guess with the rl retreat, a lot of folks are still busy with that or with catching up.........it's so quiet

Archmage Atlantis: The posture, hmmmmm......some of these cushions have their own quirks, the ones I like best can be touched to get to a posture I feel comfortable with that day
Archmage Atlantis: But some of them won't change, or don't have any postures I like
druth Vlodovic: lol, this one has a choice of knees together or 6 inches apart
druth Vlodovic: we need a good laying back lounging one
Archmage Atlantis: That's ok for me....cross legged is my preference.........
Archmage Atlantis: Actually a good lounge is my real preference

Archmage Atlantis: I meditate at Hikari.......I observe the silence here......I use moments in the day to reflect

The relationship between words/abbreviations, personalities and points of view is an interesting subject, too bad we got sidetracked

I can't find the point but somewhere below we went from using words to define (create) reality to examining the reality created by them,

eldir Resident: I have read Adams' blog and started using abbr. for common insights, moods, times
druth Vlodovic: you find your experiences similar to his?
eldir Resident: sort of
eldir Resident: many of Adams' abbr. do not work or are not meaningful to me

Archmage Atlantis: Words (and thus abbr.) are imperfect carriers of the full meaning........ yet they are better than to be without words
eldir Resident: over time I made up my own list of common occurances
eldir Resident: right, those words/abbr. are not the same
eldir Resident: so, I put down a general category abbr. and a little explaining sentence
eldir Resident: usually poor grammar
druth Vlodovic: form is there to be useful
Archmage Atlantis: Somehow, I think that grammar has gone beyound being correct or poor
eldir Resident: e.g. I use "hard to catch breath" a lot
eldir Resident: oh, please do not get me started on today's mis-use of grammar

eldir Resident: no, but I raised to speak properly
eldir Resident: and want to go out in the street and slap some of these kids up side the head
eldir Resident: the whole egoistical thing of putting yourself before others

eldir Resident: have not heard "Joe and I" in years

druth Vlodovic: ah, but grammer is just a vehicle of commonality, to enhance transmission of meaning. If the function is performed is the form necessary?
Archmage Atlantis: All forms of slang
druth Vlodovic: because "joe and I" sounds like putting on airs lol

Archmage Atlantis: It is like watching an evolution
Archmage Atlantis: If there are new functions to express.....is the existing grammar sufficient?

Archmage Atlantis: I never had to use a chicken I knew personally for dinner until I was 29

Lucinda Lavender: Luci like the word beeves:) not sure why...is it a word I made up I wonder?
Archmage Atlantis: Head of sheep, head of goats, head of pigs.....all a count of animals raised for meat
druth Vlodovic: it's an odd way of looking at living things
Archmage Atlantis: beeves does seem to have been used

druth Vlodovic: they talk about "dehumanizing" minorities in order to treat them badly
druth Vlodovic: but I'm not sure it is necessary to define something as a "not-person" in order to do this
Archmage Atlantis: That is no secret druth

druth Vlodovic: they say some of the aboriginal americans used to thank animals for giving their lives for our sustenance, so they treated them with dignity and respect even whil hunting and eating them
eldir Resident: and I thought that about chickens I had named
