2011.01.30 13:00 - Spaciousness and other practices

The Guardian for this meeting was Maxine Walden. The comments are by Maxine Walden.

This was another session on the theme of current practice, involving going around in a circle and then opening the session.

    buxar Shamen: hellow
    Maxine Walden: hi, buxar
buxar Shamen: im lugh; a long story,  im avoiding somthing ...im hiding
Maxine Walden: don't think we've met; have you been to these meetings often?
    buxar Shamen: hehee
    Maxine Walden: !!
    Maxine Walden: hi, :))
    buxar Shamen: heyy
Maxine Walden: how does it feel to be buxar
    Maxine Walden: ?
buxar Shamen: quite slimy becouse im avoiding somthing but i can live with my dark side
    buxar Shamen: :D
Maxine Walden: ah, intriguing in a dark sort of way :)
    buxar Shamen: hehe
buxar Shamen: i didnt want to miss the meeting so ... hear i am buxar
Maxine Walden: glad you have come
buxar Shamen: buxar means big hair in my languag
    Maxine Walden: big hair, hmm
    buxar Shamen: hey bruce
buxar Shamen: ( im lugh dont ask)
Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Bixar and Maxine.
    buxar Shamen: hehe
Maxine Walden: hi, Bruce, nice to see you
    Bruce Mowbray: buxar, sry.
Bruce Mowbray: I've been house cleaning this entire day and need to rest -- and play.
Maxine Walden: well, not sure how it will feel to you,Buxar, but I have in mind to invite us all to pause to see who we are as part of our practice...
Bruce Mowbray: excellent -- feels good!
Maxine Walden: blad you came Bruce. My last comment continued a bit of to and fro Buxar and I were having
Maxine Walden: glad you cam Bruce....sorry, some typos
Bruce Mowbray: /be listens to get the gist of the dialogue so far.
    Bruce Mowbray: /me
    Maxine Walden: :)
Maxine Walden: typos for us all
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
buxar Shamen: well im a typo king .... queen
    Maxine Walden: hahahah!!
    buxar Shamen: hehee :)
Maxine Walden: just to mention, had hoped when we get started to go in a circle, sharing our own current senses of 'who we are' or how we are exploring the nature of our reality at the moment
Maxine Walden: oh, yeah, have to claim the log
buxar Shamen: i am a program which is programmed in a way to reprogram it self .... artificial intelligence
Maxine Walden: will be interesting to hear more, buxar. Maybe we can start and others may join in. I would be happy to go first...
    buxar Shamen: yeey!

    Maxine's sharing:

Maxine Walden: Right now, perhaps these past few days, I have been wondering about the nature of reality and inspired by the Hubble Deep Field pictures: where it seemed there was 'nothing' careful focus and patience seems to reveal a myriad of elements; the issue being patience, trust, openness
Maxine Walden: So, I am trying to allow a Deep Field openness as it were; to see what might revealed in my 'spaces'.
Maxine Walden: Am feeling quiet, curious, trusting...(end )

    Buxar:

Maxine Walden: Buxar, care to go next? What you might be thinking about, trying to discover?
buxar Shamen: im trying to creat an art i playfully call it in my head shamatic science ... my philosophy basically is that there is no real you so your free to choose...
buxar Shamen: but you need little tricks to do so , the same tricks which built up your carecter the first time round now i have a choice to lead it where i what it to .. all i need is those little tricks ... end :D

    Maxine Walden: hi, zon
    Bruce Mowbray: Yo, Zon.
    Zon Kwan: hi all
    buxar Shamen: heyy zon :0
    --BELL--
buxar Shamen: ( zon im lugh btw had to use this av today long story)
Maxine Walden: Bruce, would you care to go next?

    Bruce:

Bruce Mowbray: I am little Bruce at this session because little Bruce is the avi I wear when I'm dealing with shame issues . . . (being a shame magnet, as it were). . . - -
Maxine Walden: shame does bring a sense of littleness
Bruce Mowbray: I spent the entire day house cleaning because I was too ashamed to bring anyone new in here. . .
Bruce Mowbray: and the "homeless" guy will be arriving tomorrow. . .
    Maxine Walden: 'homeless'?
Bruce Mowbray: and all day I've been regurgitating shameful events from my past -- WHAT a crock that is!!
    Maxine Walden: :(
Bruce Mowbray: The Quaker guy from Kentucky who has been discussing this move for two months and will finally be moving in here for about a month.
Bruce Mowbray: So, anyway, I really need a break from myself right now -- having gotten my shame tanks filled to the brim today.
Bruce Mowbray: but it's already getting better.
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: (done -- for now)

It seemed that Bruce's sharing was already helping him with the shame he was feeling.I suggested that pictorally

    Maxine Walden: :( --> :)
    Maxine Walden: OK, Zon?
Bruce Mowbray: yes. :( to :)
    Zon Kwan: current practise ?
Maxine Walden: yes, or current interests....questions,...concerns
    Anastasia Genesis: hallo
Maxine Walden: hi, Anastasia, come join us
    buxar Shamen: hey ana
Zon Kwan: hm..my current practise is no special practise
    Anastasia Genesis: ty
    Zon Kwan: rather to lsiten
    Maxine Walden: OK, zon
Maxine Walden: Ana, have you been to these PlayasBeing sessions frequently?
Anastasia Genesis: well maybe not frequently but have been yes
Maxine Walden: We try to pause for a bit, listen to ourselves and each other...ah, well, then you may be familiar with us
    Anastasia Genesis: yes
    Anastasia Genesis: ty
Maxine Walden: Right now, we are sharing as we wish how we might be thinking, feeling about ourselves and our self-discoveries...
    Anastasia Genesis: interesting

    Bruce returns to Maxine's comment:

Bruce Mowbray: May I respond to something Maxine said earlier?
Maxine Walden: Ana, would you care to share such with us now? Realize you just got here, but the rest of us have spoken...
Maxine Walden: please, Bruce, and we can give Ana a chance to think
Bruce Mowbray: I love the image of the Huibble deep field.
    Bruce Mowbray: Hubble.
Bruce Mowbray: My 'practice' recently has been to allow more space.
Bruce Mowbray: with virtually everything in life.
    Bruce Mowbray: more space.
Bruce Mowbray: in relationships -- with the horizons around my farm in Ohio -- with my own thoughts about things.
Bruce Mowbray: allowing more and more space.
Bruce Mowbray: so I relate closely to your image and thank you for it, Maxine.
    Bruce Mowbray: (done)

Maxine Walden: Lovely to share, Bruce. That is so inspiring an image, the Deep Field, and so inspiring regarding allowing, trusting in enhanced space, and for me that includes patience as well. Thanks for your sharing that

    Anastasia's sharings:

Anastasia Genesis: for me practice involves reflection
Anastasia Genesis: and reflection leads to understanding
    Anastasia Genesis: but i ask
    Anastasia Genesis: is understanding enough
    Anastasia Genesis: what about action
    buxar Shamen: :)
Maxine Walden: What an interesting question, Ana. Maybe others have thoughts, responses?
Anastasia Genesis: a bit like armchair critics or intellectuals
Anastasia Genesis: what can they know of real cruelty or suffering
Anastasia Genesis: what do they do about making the world a better place
Anastasia Genesis: do they should they act too or merely understand
Anastasia Genesis: and does understanding lead to compassion
    Anastasia Genesis: not always
Anastasia Genesis: does compassion lead to action
    Anastasia Genesis: i dunno
    --BELL--
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Bleu.
    Maxine Walden: hi, bleu

    Buxar wonders:

buxar Shamen: i relate to that becouse i see they are alot of usefull ways to know your screwed up but not alot of ways to change that we need a new art i thinck
    buxar Shamen: hey bleu
    Anastasia Genesis: yes buxar
buxar Shamen: i thinck its all in the little things like the way your perseption changes when you see a movie and hear a song and some usefull tricks of the mind realy like self brainwashing

I try to bring Bleu on board as to the themes so far:

Maxine Walden: Bleu, we are sharing the focus of our practices, understandings, questions about reality, and Anastasia has raised the question, among others about 'understanding' and compassion being sufficient...maybe action of some sort is needed
Anastasia Genesis: another trick i find buxar is to take things slowly not to be too ambitious otherwise it is imposs
    Bleu Oleander: ty Maxine
buxar Shamen: yup thats true but we realy should make a unified research team hehee
Anastasia Genesis: not a bad idea
Maxine Walden: And, Bleu, Bruce and I were sharing appreciation of the Hubble Deep Field image in terms of spaciousnes, patience toward deeper understandings...
Bleu Oleander: oh yes, agree Maxine
    Bruce Mowbray: "allowing more space...."
Maxine Walden: so we have a couple of different threads in the conversation it seems...
Maxine Walden: would you care to jump in, bleu?
Bleu Oleander: will listen for a minute
    Maxine Walden: sure

Zon offers some thoughts picking up on Ana's thread, which tries to link understanding with action:

Zon Kwan: whne one understand one acts properly
Anastasia Genesis: i have another concern which emerges from my reflections
Anastasia Genesis: but not sure whether it will then be too many threads
Maxine Walden: (wondering whether we have the capacity for spaciousness for our various threads here today)
    Maxine Walden: tell us, Ana
Anastasia Genesis: zon i dont think understanding always leads to action
    Anastasia Genesis: ok ty maxine
Zon Kwan: right understanding leads to right action
Anastasia Genesis: well there is a visible trend towards utility in everything that happens and it is scarey
Anastasia Genesis: because it increases the risks for what is perceived as not useful

Bleu offers thoughts similar to Bruce and Maxine, re spaciousness

Bleu Oleander: a thought on spaceiousness ..... spaciousness is already in the mind ... we need to cultivate intimacy with it ... know how spacious our own minds are.
    Anastasia Genesis: like elderly
Anastasia Genesis: like art and culture
    Anastasia Genesis: humanities
    Anastasia Genesis: etc

Anastasia Genesis: it scares me this trend towards utility in everything
    Anastasia Genesis: huge concern
    Zon Kwan: why
Anastasia Genesis: because it leads to many weird and for me mistaken assumptions like what about elderly ppl
Maxine Walden: Is it useful to consider that the trend toward 'utility' actually is a collapse of shutdown of spaciousness, as if 'OK, not need to learn anymore...now just do'
Zon Kwan: i see..what r the real values we act for ?
Anastasia Genesis: what about things that dont have apparent immediate commercial or utility value
buxar Shamen: what is usful any way what ever you achive you will have to leave behind soon enugh its not usfull to live
Anastasia Genesis: what i mean by utility is useful for society and regret to say that is often taken as implying commercial gain of sorts in a very capitalist sense
Zon Kwan: utility has its plase..but we hsould first define our values..and then fornd proper means to utilise to promote those values
buxar Shamen: usefullness is the biggest illustion i thinck
Maxine Walden: (Bruce, blub swimming with the other fish,or wishing to do so?)
Anastasia Genesis: yes but i am not talking about values here but about general trends visible in the western world
Zon Kwan: but is that an issue of values
Anastasia Genesis: like kids who prefer to get a part time job and earn money as students rather than taking on voluntary work or hobbies
Zon Kwan: value = what is important in life
Anastasia Genesis: zon i know u r preaching to the converted here
buxar Shamen: in native cultures they only work for 3 hr max a day ... technology to ease our lives?
Anastasia Genesis: but if u look around u u will see what i mean
Maxine Walden: We are taking the focus away from our own practices right now, and we generally try to share our practices here, our own personal values, discoveries...
Anastasia Genesis: this was a concern that emerged form my reflection but we could drop it
Anastasia Genesis: and go back to others
Anastasia Genesis: i warned u it may add to many treads
    Anastasia Genesis: :)
Maxine Walden: appreciate this emerging concern, ana. :)
    --BELL--
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Qt.
    buxar Shamen: hey qt
    Bleu Oleander: hi Qt
    Qt Core: hi all

Feeling that we had been wandering away from the focus of personal practice I try to redirect some of the conversation

Maxine Walden: I think we might try to keep our focus on our practice, but what your concern illustrates is how our frustration may collapse our inner spaciousness, as if it is not addressing things properly
    Zon Kwan: qt
Maxine Walden: what your concern may illustrate, ana. don't mean to make an arbitrary statement
    Maxine Walden: hi, qt.
Anastasia Genesis: not sure i undrstand what u mean maxine
Bruce Mowbray: I am fascinated by Ana's use of the term "reflect" as it regards her practice.
Anastasia Genesis: dont u reflect bruce too
Bruce Mowbray: Welll.. . . . there is "reflect" like a mirror reflects.
Anastasia Genesis: and maxine dont get me wrong but it is more compassion for the loss i see around me rather than frustration
Bruce Mowbray: In other words, a look at what you are at that moment.
Maxine Walden: ah, thanks, ana. I might have misunderstoood
    buxar Shamen: hehe nice bruce
    buxar Shamen: :)
Bruce Mowbray: Then there is "reflect" as in "analyse" - - - taking things apart with the mind to see how they work. . .
Anastasia Genesis: yes bruce although i am not me in islolation from everything else
    Bruce Mowbray: mind*
Anastasia Genesis: reflection could be holistic too
    Bruce Mowbray listens for more.
buxar Shamen: i think that those reflections are the same from diff points
    Anastasia Genesis: raises 'why' questions
Anastasia Genesis: and those why questions can give rise to compassion and touch ones heart and the heart of others

I believe that Bruce also tries to steer the direction of the conversation back to our practice and asks about 'reflection' but we also then turn to Bruce's experience around shame and compassion

Bruce Mowbray: So -- when the meditation mirror reflects who you are, does it see compassion, or . . . whatever....?
buxar Shamen: instead of beaming your light out you reflect it back ... maybe thats why we see others faults easier then we see our own becouse their light is beaming in our eyes ...
Bruce Mowbray: I always (almost always) see my own faults first. . .
Maxine Walden: compassion for me is an expression of spaciousness, openness from within
Anastasia Genesis: i have no answers
Bleu Oleander: slips out quietly ... bye all :)
    Maxine Walden: bye, bleu
Bruce Mowbray: That's why I'm been filling my shame tanks all day (as I said earlier in this session).
Bruce Mowbray: So, reflection for me is watching myself do that.
buxar Shamen: and you know sham is not right bruce?
Anastasia Genesis: must have missed that bit bruce
Maxine Walden: Bruce, does shame interfere with compassion for yourself?
Bruce Mowbray: No -- I'm not saying that shame is right or wrong -- I'm only saying that I've been watching myself shaming myself today.
Bruce Mowbray: While doing the house cleaning.
    Bruce Mowbray: watching it happen.
buxar Shamen: well do you prefer to live whitout shame?
Bruce Mowbray: Not really -- to both questions.
    buxar Shamen: nods
Zon Kwan: so enjoy it then
Bruce Mowbray: I have compassion for myself -- for apparently feeling compelled to shame myself.
Maxine Walden: ah, thanks. Clarifying, yes watching shame operate...
Anastasia Genesis: cant you drop your shame bruce
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I can drop it. . .
Anastasia Genesis: for short priods of time
Bruce Mowbray: but first I need to see it. Then drop it.
    Anastasia Genesis: yes
buxar Shamen: why do you whant to see it dough?
Bruce Mowbray: I am feeling so much better now -- I;m going to change into a less shame-obsessed guy now.
Anastasia Genesis: and you dont need to see it if you said u already see it
    Maxine Walden: :)
Anastasia Genesis: now you can drop it

And Bruce's 'little avi' then becomes full-sized

Maxine Walden: ah, regular sized Bruce is back
    Maxine Walden: :)
Bruce Mowbray: Yeah! Feeling MUCH better now!
    Maxine Walden: :))
    Maxine Walden: great
buxar Shamen: well for me i know where my shame is i can elleborat it all day long but it nither entertains me nor theacesme so i sufficate it whitout attention it need to live
Anastasia Genesis: i must be off thanks for great chat bye for now
buxar Shamen: and i ve just came from a year locked inside becouse of it
    buxar Shamen: bye anas
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Ana.
Maxine Walden: emergence for you, buxar?
Bruce Mowbray: Back to Maxine's question about practice. . .
Bruce Mowbray: what is practice for you ? What practice are you doing?
buxar Shamen: out of the dark age going to the golden age
Bruce Mowbray: My response was just watching myself -- and at that moment I was experienceing shame. . .
Bruce Mowbray: so that was my practice at that moment.
Bruce Mowbray: Now it is something slightly different, of course.
Bruce Mowbray: How about you, Qt?
    --BELL--
Qt Core: haven't understood the topic yet, quite slow today
Maxine Walden: And my practice right now is in accord with trying to be open to the nature of reality, sort of clearing the noise of the day, for wider observations, such as the Hubble
Maxine Walden: I am sorry that I have to go, as the discussion is very interesting...look forward to seeing everyone soon.
Maxine Walden: bye for now everyone
Zon Kwan: me 2, bye all
    Qt Core: bye Maxine
Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Maxine. Thank you!
    Qt Core: bye Zon
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Zon.
    buxar Shamen: sorry back
Bruce Mowbray: I like this new avi, buxar.
buxar Shamen: nice to see big bruce agin :)
Bruce Mowbray: I mean YOUR new avi -- not big Bruce.
Bruce Mowbray: You have a wonderful collection!
buxar Shamen: yeah i got you :) well im in this av ..i didnt even know i had it .. im avoiding someone
buxar Shamen: im lugh btw qt
    Qt Core: ok
    buxar Shamen: hihihi
    buxar Shamen: :)
Bruce Mowbray: You've just reminded me that I need to write up a notecard. . .
    buxar Shamen: :)
Qt Core: i'm quite good at forgetting who is who when multiple avs are in place
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Chi!
    buxar Shamen: hey chi
Qt Core: (one of the reason i have only one)
    buxar Shamen: :) qt
    Qt Core: hi Chi
    Chi Aho: Hello all
buxar Shamen: your a earth person moves slowly but strong?
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Boxy!
    buxar Shamen: hey alph
    Qt Core: me buxar ?
    buxar Shamen: hehe yeah
buxar Shamen: your hose truly a home|?
Qt Core: don't think, i'm usually at least a couple galaxy away from here ;-)
buxar Shamen: hehehe :) then youd got somewind in you too
    buxar Shamen: im just joking
    Qt Core: np, hi Alf
Alfred Kelberry: qt, you must be familiar with "dolce far niente"? :)
Bruce Mowbray: You're welcome to join us and have a cushion, Chi.
    Qt Core: sure ;-)
Chi Aho: what is the subject?
buxar Shamen: hey chi now i recognise you
Bruce Mowbray: Well -- several have just left, so I'm not sure what the topic is any more..
Alfred Kelberry: qt, i just found out about it recently and it seems a lot like wu-wei :)
Bruce Mowbray: we were discussing our individual practice. . . and now it seems to be shifting away from that. .

The topic of one's practice seems to continue, but other topics as well, including Alfred's lovely flute

Bruce Mowbray: which is fine, of course.
Alfred Kelberry: "delicious idleness" as wiktionary puts it
buxar Shamen: blub is afully fishy today
Qt Core: literally "sweet doing nothing"
Alfred Kelberry: i suppose italians are well versed in this practice :)
Chi Aho: spiritual discipline has always sounded like a contradiction in terms to me
Bruce Mowbray: Oh ? -- fascinating. Please say more, Chi.
Chi Aho: I suppose some ppl do - say meditate at a certain time each day or each week or whatever, but as for me it is always if and when the occasion presents itself
Bruce Mowbray and buxar are craning their necks to hear.
    --BELL--
    buxar Shamen: hehe :)
Alfred Kelberry: i think if you look closer you'll find a "dolce far niente" in most cultures :)
buxar Shamen: snowball effect it got its own momentum now
Qt Core: agreeing with both alf and chi
buxar Shamen: oki finding the silence is all well and good but what about the colurefull shodnt we paint a picture in it whit the full vision of it we get when we are in the silent space
    Qt Core: (especially as i don't have a practice ;-) )
Chi Aho: no chanting or drumming?
Alfred Kelberry: *notices that the koi pond addition is gone* :(
    buxar Shamen: :)
buxar Shamen: all practise leads you to silence none theace you to paint your old coulers
Qt Core: don't know about painting but in the 90 sec pauses i usually end up noticing the colours more than usual especially one, as in a diffewrentt one each time
    Alfred Kelberry: what colors, qt?
buxar Shamen: and why would we have created the colures only to get away from them?
Qt Core: one of the colors in the screen
Bruce Mowbray: I have used colors as a spiritual practice -- simply taking note of everything in the environment of a particular color. . .
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: count the color game
    Bruce Mowbray: yeah.
Qt Core: have heard about that... never got the sense out of it
Bruce Mowbray: Like, if sensual deprivation (everything being plain and the same) is a form of spiritual loss -- then noticing stuff would be a spiritual exercise, no?
Bruce Mowbray: so why not some particular color - or shape - or size - or whatever...
Bruce Mowbray: That is also a type of discipline.
Chi Aho: Whatever will make clarity of awareness arise.
Bruce Mowbray: yes. exactly so, Chi.
Qt Core: yes, my obiection is why not another colour/shape/size ;-)
Chi Aho: Sometimes achieved through fasting, solitude, chanting, drumming, dance and yoga. Sometimes through quiet concentration, meditation and contemplation.
Bruce Mowbray: Can you not choose which color to "see" ?
Bruce Mowbray: also sometimes merely through allowing a larger vision -- or a larger acceptance.
    Bruce Mowbray: larger mind.
    Qt Core: i usualy don't
Alfred Kelberry: bruce, how do you notice "freshness"?
Bruce Mowbray: That's what Maxine was saying earlier about the Hubble deep field.
Bruce Mowbray: Really wonderful question, Boxy!
buxar Shamen: i think its yin and yang yin is silent never changing the place in whicht we enter whit meditation yang it the great illustion fammily love style and pleasure rest and activity
Chi Aho: Well, it is whatever will bring on a state of self-transcendence
Chi Aho: an identification of the self with the totality of the cosmos and the spirit or energy underlying it
Bruce Mowbray: So, whatever I see -- distant galaxy or nearby speck of dust --- That is what I am. (?)
Alfred Kelberry: chi, that's vague :)
    Chi Aho: isn't it, boxy?
Alfred Kelberry: i prefer a more practical example :)
Bruce Mowbray: The idea of Great Space -- not divided up into individual entities...
Chi Aho: Take Bruce's speck of dust
    Chi Aho: very practical
    Bruce Mowbray listens.
Bruce Mowbray moved a lot of dust with all of his housevleaning today.
Chi Aho: whatever facilitates our identification with the energy or spirit underlying these things
    Bruce Mowbray: housecleaning.
buxar Shamen: well the spec of dust most probably fell off your own skin
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: The same energies that brought the dust and the galaxy also brought me.
buxar Shamen: and the star is only a code that is transformed into light by the mind whit certine cemicals it can be transformed into smell .. very real
Alfred Kelberry: chi, what is it supposed to mean?
Chi Aho: We *are* that energy, that spirit; our bodies are the material manifestations of that energy or spirit
Alfred Kelberry: ah, supernova remnants. that's a lovely practical example :)
    --BELL--
Qt Core: the smell of light and sound of freshness :)
    buxar Shamen: yes :)
    Alfred Kelberry: qt?
Qt Core: just an image (image ?) i got in my head, alf
buxar Shamen: the shamans of the andys describe songs as if paintings and they agree on them
    Alfred Kelberry: ah :)
Alfred Kelberry: can we actually listen to a song without visuals popping up in our heads?
buxar Shamen: the aryuasca they take shift the signals that uswaly get into the ear reseptors to the eye resepters you can even be born whit this fabulas diformaty
buxar Shamen: and nnot be blind
Bruce Mowbray: When I did LSD the first and only time, I saw abstract ideas as solid geometrical forms.
Chi Aho: buxar, i have heard of that "disorder"
    Alfred Kelberry: bruce, cool :)
Alfred Kelberry: why did you stop seeing those figures? :)
Bruce Mowbray: There still is this sort of memory-ghost when I think of some abstract ideas. . .
    Chi Aho: hi, Lucinda
    Qt Core: hi Lucinda
    Bruce Mowbray: Welcome, Luci.
    Lucinda Lavender: Hi all,
    buxar Shamen: hey luci
    Alfred Kelberry: luci :)
buxar Shamen: wherent you intreged to explore moor bruce?
Bruce Mowbray: Well, yes and no. When I took the LSD it was still legal -- but then a year later it became illegal, so I never did it again.
Bruce Mowbray: However, I think that was instrumental in beginning my meditation practice. . .
    Bruce Mowbray: back in 1965.
Bruce Mowbray: and I have been "exploring" ever since.
buxar Shamen: yes two roads one destination
buxar Shamen: depends on how you use both of them anyway
Bruce Mowbray: As the Tibetans put it, "Gates are infinite - I vow to enter them all."
    buxar Shamen: :)
Bruce Mowbray: everything - without exception - is a potential gate to "enlightenment" -- awakening.
Bruce Mowbray: like Boxy's flute. Wonderful!
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    buxar Shamen: indeed
Qt Core: frm my pov it seemed you were playing... your scarf, alf
Alfred Kelberry: no, my flute jet pack :)
Qt Core: i was wondering what it was
Alfred Kelberry: qt, try click some shapes :)
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
buxar Shamen: it never lets me click!
