The forthcoming SL retreat, time difference and other problems:

Bruce (bruce.mowbray): Ahhh. . . The in-world retreat is shaping up nicely.
Bruce (bruce.mowbray): We have nine signed up. . .
Bruce (bruce.mowbray): and please tell me if you want to be on our list.
Bruce (bruce.mowbray): We will begin Friday evening (exact time yet to be decided) -- and probably have three sessions on Saturday and Sunday. . .
Adams Rubble: nine is the number last time
Bruce (bruce.mowbray): (Feb 11-13).
Bruce (bruce.mowbray): yes, we were a Nine-Headed Being last time.
Aphrodite Macbain: What would work best as a time on Friday? 5?
Riddle Sideways: /me still does not know, but thinks can make some of the sessions
Bruce (bruce.mowbray): I will be sending out messages to all who have signed up. . .
Bleu (bleu.oleander): is it OK to attend a few of the sessions?
Bruce (bruce.mowbray): Looking right now like Friday night needs to be able 5 p.m., though.
Bruce (bruce.mowbray): We'd like everyone to attend the FIRST session, if possible...

Bruce (bruce.mowbray): and there will probably be folks who are not able to attend all of the sessions on Sat or Sunday.

Jan Qualia: it's more a collaborative peer type group rather than one with a dominant leader if it is anything like the last one

Eos Amaterasu: I've been to music places in lots of cities, but New Orleans really does have something special going
Jan Qualia: yes - it's famous for it
Eos Amaterasu: very inclusive of audience, plus other muscians join in for a song or two with the band
Eos Amaterasu: Was my first experience of New Orleans that way.
Jan Qualia: would love to go there
Eos Amaterasu: We'll probably do another urban (Bourbon :-) retreat there in the future
Riddle Sideways: and it wasn't even Mardi Gras yet
Riddle Sideways: the place goes crazy then
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, although the place seems permanently decorated, masks, beads, feathers, music everywhere
Riddle Sideways: and you were during the weekdays
Eos Amaterasu: plus gumbo, jambalaya, and we accidentally found ourselves in a Japanese tavern with great food
Riddle Sideways: very tamed down
Eos Amaterasu: yeah, Mardi Gras might be an intense experience
Riddle Sideways: so a lot of drinking and eating
Eos Amaterasu: Yakuzza, you're looking very upscale!
