    iwandertoo Resident: she
    Pema Pera: ah!
    iwandertoo Resident: typo
    iwandertoo Resident: haha
Pema Pera: it's slowly beginning to make sense now :-)
Pema Pera: so you can't sit down then, Susan?
Pema Pera: only read text and write ?
    iwandertoo Resident: no...
    iwandertoo Resident: yes...text only

    Pema Pera: hi Druth!
    iwandertoo Resident: hi druth
    druth Vlodovic: hi guys
stevenaia Michinaga: hi Druth, you were standing on my
druth Vlodovic: whatever it was it was comfy
iwandertoo Resident: rl pab in the works...
stevenaia Michinaga: glad you didn't have your heels on
    druth Vlodovic: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: what was that susan?
    iwandertoo Resident: intgerated life...
iwandertoo Resident: sl at a rl meal...wonderfilled
    Pema Pera: :-)
    iwandertoo Resident: very much so
stevenaia Michinaga: I was wondering... pema with the discussion regarding Was of Knowing, can you relate PaB to WoK to assits in reminding how they are or are not related?
iwandertoo Resident: and th music is perfect :)
Pema Pera: WoK or Ways of Knowing in full was the name of a workshop in SL that Stim started
    Pema Pera: a weekly workshop
Pema Pera: I was not involved, though I attended a few and read a few more
Pema Pera: but then stopped following because it was a very busy time for me
Pema Pera: then, after a year or so, Stim stopped
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, timing is everything for meetings
Pema Pera: but a number of regular attendants continued
Pema Pera: for at least another year I believe
Pema Pera: but less and less frequently, I think
Pema Pera: that's all I know about it
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
druth Vlodovic: there is a bit of crossover in terms of who goes
Pema Pera: there sure are many acitivities: we have the 99 days that Wol started, the Regarding Reality that Maxine just started, etc
stevenaia Michinaga: I will track down attendees, thanks
Pema Pera: Bleu's regular Art of Being events
stevenaia Michinaga: it maxine posting logs, I missed the first meeting
    stevenaia Michinaga: Is
    Pema Pera: various others too
Pema Pera: Maxine's meetings are here at the pond, every Friday at 6 am SLT
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi boxy
    Pema Pera: hi Alfred!
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
Pema Pera: Susan, is there anything from the retreat that you'd like to follow up on, questions, comments, suggestions for topics to talk about or to do a practice/exploration?
Alfred Kelberry: pema, does it seem to you sometimes that you're on a never-ending retreat? :)
Pema Pera: oh, it will end, boxy :-)
iwandertoo Resident: I have some action items that I need to follow-on with boxy about
    Pema Pera: yes?
iwandertoo Resident: technical questions abour rhw wiki and plugins
    iwandertoo Resident: *the
Alfred Kelberry: pema, no! keep it going :)
    --BELL--
    iwandertoo Resident: I think tho...
    Alfred Kelberry: yes, susan?
iwandertoo Resident: I am goiong to try and secure the lighthouse spot for the same week in 2012...pab folks and others can crahs as they wish. it was wonderful
iwandertoo Resident: will send in mail boxy...I have been remiss
Pema Pera: well, my retreat in RL will end, boxy, within a few decades at most :-)
Pema Pera: wow, great idea, Susan!
Alfred Kelberry: pema, um... sounds a bit sad :)
Pema Pera: well, part of life :-)
stevenaia Michinaga: you mean the end?
Pema Pera: sure, death is part of life
Alfred Kelberry: if you believe in incarnation of sorts :)
Santoshima Resident: even if you don't
Pema Pera: ah, well . . . but not the same RL avatar in any case
Pema Pera: different retreat perhaps :-)
Alfred Kelberry: eh, i propose another topic. death is rather saddening :)
Pema Pera: Susan, your plans sound great -- how long would you like to be there? One week?
stevenaia Michinaga: was focusing a bit on death today
iwandertoo Resident: sorry...the older couples next to me started speaking
Alfred Kelberry: oh, what is it?
iwandertoo Resident: questions abouut tge food...what I do for a living...funny
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Pema Pera: integration of RL and SL, Susan, interesting tapestry!
    Pema Pera: yes, Steve?
Alfred Kelberry: *wonders what susan does for a living* :)
stevenaia Michinaga: this si the end of a holiday that looks ahead as well as the possible alternatives
    stevenaia Michinaga: reflection on life
stevenaia Michinaga: what you leave behind, what you continue with
    Alfred Kelberry: hmm
stevenaia Michinaga: susan must have hit a tunnel
Alfred Kelberry: i thought the new year is supposed to be that. or traditionally is :)
    Alfred Kelberry: or mondays :)
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, a new year
Alfred Kelberry: i like to start things on a random date
Pema Pera trying to picture a tunnel in a restaurant
    Santoshima Resident: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: dining car on a subway
Alfred Kelberry: how's aot compiler coming along, pema?
    Pema Pera: aot?
    Alfred Kelberry: ahead of time
Alfred Kelberry: as in ruby computation
Pema Pera: ah! It's not yet ahead of its time, I think -- still in the works :-)
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Pema Pera: how about viewing the end of each day as a kind of death, and each morning a new beginning?
Pema Pera: a new present from the universe . . .
    Alfred Kelberry: depressing :)
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, makes day more special
    stevenaia Michinaga: lol
    stevenaia Michinaga: or depressing?
Pema Pera: the idea being that you don't carry over anger or worries to the next day
    Santoshima Resident: yes
Pema Pera: try to clean up each evening
Alfred Kelberry: it's a nice metaphor, but the word "death" spoils the fun :)
Pema Pera: a Christian thought actually
Pema Pera: well, "end" would that be better?
    Pema Pera: end of chapter?
Alfred Kelberry: yes! much better :)
    Pema Pera: :-)
    Santoshima Resident: "passing"
    Santoshima Resident: pushing up daisies"
Pema Pera: ah, nice, yes, passing
Alfred Kelberry: also, you never know how many chapters are there. a good unknown.
Pema Pera: that's a reason to appreciate each chapter for its own worth
Alfred Kelberry: of course you hope for many
    Alfred Kelberry: so true, pema
    --BELL--
Alfred Kelberry: *ponders: it's so evident, but somehow so difficult act on*
druth Vlodovic: there is only ever one chapter really
    Pema Pera: yes !!!
druth Vlodovic: the others are either memories or anticipations
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Pema Pera: what difference could it possibly make, today, whether you would have 10 or 10,000 chapters coming?
Santoshima Resident: unless you were an accountant
    Alfred Kelberry: !
    Pema Pera: :-0
druth Vlodovic: wishing for many chapters you may find yourself living very few
Pema Pera: careful what you wish for :-)
Alfred Kelberry: it's an interesting question, pema. i wonder how our lives would be different if we actually knew, or were guaranteed say 80 years of a lifespan.
Pema Pera: we could jump off tall buildings (if the guarantee would be a healthy life too)
    Pema Pera: hi Arch!
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Arch
Alfred Kelberry: druth, is it related to karma? vengence of god?
    Alfred Kelberry: archy :)
    Santoshima Resident: evening, archy
druth Vlodovic: a friend and I were discussing the effects if we just lived until something killed us
    Alfred Kelberry: pema, chaos then?
    Pema Pera: yes, Druth?
druth Vlodovic: he thought we would learn more and more
Archmage Atlantis: Hello, All.... Boxy , I owe you an apology
Pema Pera: if remaining healthy, yes, sure!
druth Vlodovic: I thought we'd just become more and more nervous about losing so much potential if we did die
Alfred Kelberry: druth, isn't it how it goes?
Alfred Kelberry: cancer will get to you sooner or later
Pema Pera: I guess different people might react differently, though probably we all would get used to it -- as we are now used to our current situation
druth Vlodovic: much is accomplished by people who see adventure, or a cause, as more important than long life
Archmage Atlantis: It appears the conversation tonight is eternal life
Alfred Kelberry: yes, it's amazing to what conditions people are able to adapt
Pema Pera: yes, I think that's right, Druth; they don't wast energy worrying perhaps :)
stevenaia Michinaga: smiles, a lifetime can also be accomplished in a day
Alfred Kelberry: archy, that's the goal :)
stevenaia Michinaga: on the right day
Archmage Atlantis: Perhaps, what we are is eternal.....tho in this form we are not
Pema Pera: yes, Steve, great thought!
Pema Pera: seeing eternity in an hour . . . .
Alfred Kelberry: stev, is it worth a lifetime if you spent a day laying in a meadow watching clouds passing by? :)
Archmage Atlantis: The mathemtical limit of a boundary
stevenaia Michinaga: thinging of Edison's light bulb... the one that worked
Pema Pera: . To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour [ William Blake ]
stevenaia Michinaga: it could be the meadow and the clouds that bring much of what you are seeking together, even if you don;t know what you are seeking
Alfred Kelberry: pema, that would be god :)
Archmage Atlantis: I do not know Steve's answer, Boxy, but for me to lie in a meadow watching clouds is worth a lifetime, yes
Pema Pera: I don't think William was a god :-)
Alfred Kelberry: he must have believed in one
Pema Pera: or perhaps we are all gods :-)
    Alfred Kelberry: heh
    Alfred Kelberry: yea, little buddhas
Alfred Kelberry: church will not approve
Archmage Atlantis: buddha was a man
    Archmage Atlantis: Siddhartha G
Pema Pera: I don't think it is particularly difficult to see a world in a grain of sand
Pema Pera: as soon as we learn to slow down
Pema Pera: or stop for a while
    Archmage Atlantis: Nor I, Pema
stevenaia Michinaga: so size doesn;t matter pema?
Alfred Kelberry: can you expand on this metaphor, pema?
Pema Pera: each appearance, whatever it is, is unlimited in its isness (or Being)
Pema Pera: only when we try to judge, or put labels on it, or value, then we diminish it
Pema Pera: unfortunately we have learned to do just that . . .
Alfred Kelberry: yes, but what about the grain of sand?
    --BELL--
    Alfred Kelberry: *ponders*
druth Vlodovic: we trade eternity for effectiveness
    Pema Pera: yes
Archmage Atlantis: On that I disagree,;;;;;;learning to place labels, values, or states of measure merely allow us to undrerstand........where we have forgotten is that each measurement can still contain the infinite
Pema Pera: every appearance, every phenomenon, is a direct doorway to the infinite
Santoshima Resident: in the blue flax flower of the eye
    Santoshima Resident: http://grooveshark.com/#/s/~/3Ao6O0?src=11
Pema Pera: yes, Arch, labels themselves are not the problem, I agree, it is taking the labels for the real thing that is the problem
Alfred Kelberry: pema, infinite of what?
    Pema Pera: hi Eos!
    Archmage Atlantis: Agree, Pema
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi PaBers!
Pema Pera: and yes, Santo, poets find it easier to express all that!
    Alfred Kelberry: eos :)
    Eos Amaterasu: boxy :)
Pema Pera: each 9 sec breaks can be seen as a little key, unlocking infinity
    Pema Pera: *break
Alfred Kelberry: i can only relate this to infinity of the cosmos
Pema Pera: infinite as unlimited, in any way
    Pema Pera: open
Archmage Atlantis: Boxy, how finely can matter be divided?
Alfred Kelberry: or infinity inward into the atom
druth Vlodovic: apreciating something for what it is, rather than what we can do with it
Alfred Kelberry: infinitly so, i would imagine
    Archmage Atlantis: Agree
Alfred Kelberry: which is where i confront with "god"
Alfred Kelberry: cuase it just doesn't compute in practical terms
Pema Pera: yes, Druth, without goals or hope or fear
Pema Pera: just as it is
Archmage Atlantis: Agree, that any known being is able to claim to know the will of God is awkward
Alfred Kelberry: pema, however it is, but i still hope for some answers after death :)
druth Vlodovic: "Since no one really knows anything about Allah, those who think they do are just troublemakers." ~~Rābiʻa al-ʻAdawiyya al-Qaysiyya
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Pema Pera: that's lovely, Druth!
Alfred Kelberry: druth, which is to say that all religions are a scam :)
stevenaia Michinaga: and is relivant these days in politics
Pema Pera: their advice as how to live is not a scam; only when they claim to know the truth
Archmage Atlantis: The history of religion, philosophy and psychology are studded with many who claim to know that which they cannot know
Alfred Kelberry: pema, "how to live" advice comes from their truths
Alfred Kelberry: and if you take christianity it's not an advice, it's a dogmata
Eos Amaterasu: I think it's not so much that they, or we, are not in touch with that which cannot be expressed
Eos Amaterasu: but that we get in trouble when we try to express it.
Pema Pera: I don't think so, boxy -- advice can come from experience while truth is an idea
Archmage Atlantis: Still, religion, philosophy and psychology are important.....because to ask the questions is important
    Eos Amaterasu: yes
    Alfred Kelberry: can, yes
    Pema Pera: indeed, Eos
Eos Amaterasu: the questions are way more important than the answers
druth Vlodovic: to express we must define, in defining we change, then it gets changed again when it is decoded by the listener
    Eos Amaterasu: inevitable, druth
Eos Amaterasu: we must grin and bear it
Pema Pera: yes, definitions is the packaging, the wrappers
    Alfred Kelberry: useful ones
Pema Pera: ways of handing over -- and then decoding, yes
Archmage Atlantis: Must go, Blessings and Namaste to yawl
    Pema Pera: bye Arch!
    druth Vlodovic: have fun arch
    stevenaia Michinaga: bye Arch
    Santoshima Resident: namaskar, Arch
Alfred Kelberry: pema, how do you imagine infinity?
Alfred Kelberry: what image or thought you get when you think of it?
    Pema Pera: depends
Pema Pera: "open" is a nice approach
    Pema Pera: no limits
Pema Pera: and of course in mathematics there are specific ways
Pema Pera: but that's restricted infinity :-)
    Pema Pera: restricted to concepts
    --BELL--
Pema Pera watching his watch . . . time to get some sleep
    stevenaia Michinaga: night Pema
Pema Pera: good seeing you all again!
    Eos Amaterasu: 'night Pema!
Alfred Kelberry: singularity on paper looks fine, but when you try to apply it in real life... it gets weird
    druth Vlodovic: sweet dreams
    Alfred Kelberry: pema-san :)
Pema Pera: thanks, Druth, same to you too :)
    Pema Pera: bfn
Santoshima Resident: good to see you, Pema ~ g'night
    Pema Pera: nite, Santo!
Alfred Kelberry: "open" is nice... i like it
Alfred Kelberry: um, thanks, pema :)
    Santoshima Resident: :))
Eos Amaterasu: it's what left after you notice a preconception and drop it
Eos Amaterasu: and before the next one comes up
stevenaia Michinaga: the space between thoughts?
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Eos Amaterasu: yes
    Eos Amaterasu: hi Luci
Alfred Kelberry: eos, it's like a blink that we never notice :)
Eos Amaterasu: it's like the big blink with which all our noticings happen
    Lucinda Lavender: hi eos, alfre
    Eos Amaterasu: within which
    Santoshima Resident: luci !
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Alfred Kelberry: yes, when you learn to think without preconceptions
    Alfred Kelberry: luci :)
Eos Amaterasu: "when the doors of perception are cleansed, you can see the world as it is, infinite" - Willliam Blake, a poet
    Alfred Kelberry: hen lady :)
    Lucinda Lavender: Santoshima...druth
Eos Amaterasu: it's enough to notice preconceptions
Eos Amaterasu: no need to worry about thinkikng without preconceptions
Lucinda Lavender: sitting in my back yard by the fire
    Santoshima Resident: mmm
    Alfred Kelberry: luci, lovely :)
    Lucinda Lavender: darkness alround
    Alfred Kelberry: hens are asleep?
druth Vlodovic: yes, preconceptions are such horrible things!! :)
Eos Amaterasu: :-) we couldn't see or hear or talk or think without conceptions
    Alfred Kelberry: or electrons
Lucinda Lavender: what kind of preconceptions are you speaking of...?
Eos Amaterasu: that which holds us back from openness, perhaps
    Lucinda Lavender: hmmm
Alfred Kelberry: that dogs can't talk
Alfred Kelberry: but then you get into sl and...
    Alfred Kelberry: wuff!
Eos Amaterasu: until you meed certain dogs
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Santoshima Resident: wuff!
Eos Amaterasu: here or in RL :-)
stevenaia Michinaga: bed time for me, night all
    Alfred Kelberry: stev :)
Santoshima Resident: night stev, sleep well ~
    druth Vlodovic: 'night 'naia
    Lucinda Lavender: steve:) sleep well
Eos Amaterasu: actually for me as well, bedtime......
    Lucinda Lavender: and eos too

Eos Amaterasu: thanks all, nice brief visit....
Santoshima Resident: g;night eos, lovely to see you
    Santoshima Resident: wowsa
druth Vlodovic: do i lose points for missing eos?
    Santoshima Resident: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: huh?
    Lucinda Lavender: rain coming.
druth Vlodovic: grab an umbrella, marshmallows and a stick
    Alfred Kelberry: hear thunder?
    Lucinda Lavender: got to go:)
    druth Vlodovic: 'night luci
