Calvino Rabeni: strongggg
Lucinda Lavender: a wild land...
Calvino Rabeni: yes
Calvino Rabeni: like people, 90% of their strength is held in reserve
Paradise Tennant: thy have a great sense of smell and can run surprising fast
Lucinda Lavender: Luci is hearing about a python that ate a deer too
Lucinda Lavender: amazing what an animal can ingest
Paradise Tennant: a bit smelly bears if you get close to htem ..
Paradise Tennant: smiles
Lucinda Lavender: hmmm
Lucinda Lavender: imagine so
Lucinda Lavender: Hi Dash
Calvino Rabeni: Sometimes people are pests though and get into the bear's bed. They might think the same thing about a wandering human
Dash Earthboy: hey y'all
Calvino Rabeni: hey :)
Paradise Tennant: smiles hiya dash :)
Bertrum Resident: Hi Dash.
Dash Earthboy: heard something about ppl climbing into bear's bed?
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, after sampling the porridge
Lucinda Lavender: I have just now managed to get you all into the picture I see here
Dash Earthboy: i think i saw that movie :)
Calvino Rabeni: the first bed was too hard, the second too soft, but the third ...
Lucinda Lavender: just right?
Paradise Tennant: was just right :) lol
Calvino Rabeni: that's it !
Lucinda Lavender: welcome steve
Lucinda Lavender: steve seems a little cloud in the fountain to me

Paradise Tennant: smiles and hands you a glass of wine somehow candles and wine always go together ;)
Calvino Rabeni: tomorrow's halloween, and so there's a rush at the groceries today, with lots of push and tension
Calvino Rabeni: a friend says, it's as dangerous there as on the streets of Bangkok
Calvino Rabeni: though I think that a poetic expression of the feeling
stevenaia Michinaga: smiles cheers
Dash Earthboy: had some come to the door tonight for donations of canned goods for a food bank :0
Calvino Rabeni: There will be a costume parade tomorrow
Calvino Rabeni: and there are a few stalwarts of the "occupy x" movement about

Calvino Rabeni: nods
Alfred Kelberry: stev! :)
Alfred Kelberry: and dash :)
Dash Earthboy: :)
Alfred Kelberry: all white and beautiful :)
Calvino Rabeni: there is a "take your money and run" movement with Nov 5 as the big day
Calvino Rabeni: Have you heard of it?
Paradise Tennant: lol no
Alfred Kelberry: para, what street are they on?
Dash Earthboy: not till now
Lucinda Lavender: no...what does that mean?
Alfred Kelberry: cal?
stevenaia Michinaga: almost boxy
Calvino Rabeni: They mean, put your money in local institutions, not mega-banks
Lucinda Lavender: ah
Calvino Rabeni: The money then becomes a better civic citizen
Paradise Tennant: they have a campsite at the st james church which is on king street and church st
Alfred Kelberry: nice idea
Paradise Tennant: kichen set up lots of little tents .. band platform
Alfred Kelberry: but implementation will suck i'm afraid
Calvino Rabeni: will suck?
Alfred Kelberry: let's put it this way: it won't work
Calvino Rabeni: work how? It's pretty easy to move my little bits of money into a local credit union ... and I'll save by doing it
Alfred Kelberry: yes, you and a couple of others
Dash Earthboy: likes his credit union :)
Calvino Rabeni: I wonder how attitude change happens ... the labor movement was successful for a long time, and made a difference, but it must have seemed at the time that "this will NEVER work"
Paradise Tennant: it takes us to faith ..
Calvino Rabeni: Yes
Paradise Tennant: our beliefs create what works what does not work
Calvino Rabeni: or people say ..."what good will little old me be able to do?"
Calvino Rabeni: not just individual beliefs, but when it goes aggregate
Calvino Rabeni: then there's a big shift
Lucinda Lavender: many little me's together tho?
Calvino Rabeni: yes :)
Dash Earthboy: united we stand
Calvino Rabeni: Yes possibly, after some magic happens ?
Dash Earthboy: but a house divided...
Calvino Rabeni: There are a lot of "in the middle" positions
--BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: http://www.appalachian.org/
Lucinda Lavender: Sharing the website of the group taking possesion for the land where my son lives...
Lucinda Lavender: they are doing good work...alotho a move now is hard for my son...but we shall see
Dash Earthboy: pax et bonum y'all
Calvino Rabeni: pax dash
Calvino Rabeni: and bonum too :)
Paradise Tennant: nite nite dash
Lucinda Lavender: night dash
Bertrum Resident: goodnight dash
Lucinda Lavender: I feel sort of in the middle with the situation for him
Lucinda Lavender: glad the land will be preserved
Lucinda Lavender: sorry he has to move and have his house destroyed
Paradise Tennant: why could there not be a compromise ..
Paradise Tennant: every site needs a carekeeper ?
Paradise Tennant: smiles .. we all need carekeepers :)
Lucinda Lavender: yes
Lucinda Lavender: house would be not up to code for the conservancy to oversee
Lucinda Lavender: cannot rent it...
Paradise Tennant: hmm well can do a schedule of work to get it there ..
Paradise Tennant: better value for them to have a building than no buildi9ng
Lucinda Lavender: one wonders...
Paradise Tennant: can devote to a variety of uses .. info center etc
Lucinda Lavender: I think perhaps they feel it is simpler to knock it down
Paradise Tennant: how old is it
Lucinda Lavender: we suggested he go to the group and talk...
Lucinda Lavender: house is not that oldone of the houses on the property is from 1885
Lucinda Lavender: should be kept it would seem
Paradise Tennant: hmm can be declared heritage then cannot be demolished
Paradise Tennant: they will need a caretaker ...maybe they can select which house to keep .. ? will not tear down the old one ?
Paradise Tennant: he did not have a lease ?
Lucinda Lavender: one that would be nice...there was a care taker in another house who has lived there for a longer time if anyone got that he would
Lucinda Lavender: no lease
Lucinda Lavender: so he is surrendering
Lucinda Lavender: to the whole idea
Paradise Tennant: smiles surrender is good
Lucinda Lavender: I think so...
Paradise Tennant: best really sometimes
Lucinda Lavender: getting the next plan together
Lucinda Lavender: I say...bless him and his gardening skills
Paradise Tennant: really we all need like five year ..plans .. you always have to be looking ahead
Lucinda Lavender: never underestimate what you learned in the first garden
Calvino Rabeni: That's a great span of interests he has
Paradise Tennant: smiles did he like to garden as a child ?
Lucinda Lavender: well no...but we have great pictures of him heating raspberries in grandmas garden:)
Lucinda Lavender: eating
Paradise Tennant: smiles
Lucinda Lavender: there is a gardening heritage
Lucinda Lavender: love of the land
Lucinda Lavender: and food
Paradise Tennant: nothing better than rasberries out of the garden except maybe the little wild ones
Lucinda Lavender: :)))
--BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: eating blueberries and strawberries and figs from the garden?
Paradise Tennant: figs steeped in port ? or red wine ?
Lucinda Lavender: he is gathering lore...
Paradise Tennant: stories ? songs? both ?
Lucinda Lavender: probably...but garden lore too...where you could get a perennial this or that...etc
Lucinda Lavender: how to get the bitterness out of raddichio
Lucinda Lavender: ssoak it
Paradise Tennant: you shared a lovely poem about a garden once luci ? thinking back to the verses
Lucinda Lavender: really...
Lucinda Lavender: I have forgotten
Paradise Tennant: hmm blinking
Lucinda Lavender: he is going to look at a house to rent on the appalichian trail
Lucinda Lavender: too far from town but he was saying...we could make hikers baloney sandwiches:)))
Lucinda Lavender: loved that
Paradise Tennant: smiles would love to hike the applachian trail
Lucinda Lavender: me too..when it is not super hot
Paradise Tennant: like baloney sandwiches too :) with mustard
Lucinda Lavender: :)

Lucinda Lavender: cool idea Para!
Lucinda Lavender: and invite in the bears
Paradise Tennant: always wanted to the tea house treking in tibet ..treaking teahouse to teahouse :) up the mountains

Lucinda Lavender: :0 if the chairs were just right
Paradise Tennant: lol no bears
Paradise Tennant: smiles well maybe ..if they really insist and will behave
Lucinda Lavender: ha ha Bertrum
Lucinda Lavender: tea house treking sounds quite an adventure
Lucinda Lavender: where was the pacific crest trail spot Cal?
Lucinda Lavender: Appalachian mountains the oldest in the world perhaps?
Lucinda Lavender: that makes them especially interesting to me
Lucinda Lavender: ancient mountains
Paradise Tennant: smiles are there ley lines there luci ?
Lucinda Lavender: sorry if I have been dominating the conversation
Lucinda Lavender: oh have no Idea about that...
Calvino Rabeni: Not sure where the spot was, Bert, I think in oregon
Lucinda Lavender: Luci is going to listen now
Lucinda Lavender: instead of talking so much
Paradise Tennant: smiles at luci .. always a pleasure to hear what you have to say luci :)
Lucinda Lavender: :)))
Lucinda Lavender: thanks
Paradise Tennant: so my thought for .. the nite .. to mull is ...???
Calvino Rabeni: To mix with wine?
Lucinda Lavender: :))
Calvino Rabeni: I think there's a metaphoric connection between those two meanings
Paradise Tennant: hmmwine and thinking not such a good mix but tends to be friendly
Calvino Rabeni: "to infuse with spirit"
Calvino Rabeni: in vino veritas
Lucinda Lavender: :)))
Paradise Tennant: smiles spirit.. such a little word for such a big thing
Calvino Rabeni: the small common words mean the biggest things
Calvino Rabeni: the bigger the word, the smaller more precise thing it designates
Calvino Rabeni: as an overall, I suppose
Lucinda Lavender: so interesting
--BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: Luci wishes her dress was blue/as in true
Calvino Rabeni says - "I" is a very big word ... "pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis" is a very small word

In other recent news, IBM has sold a "Watson" supercomputer to health care company WellPoint, to be used to aid medical diagnoses, and D-Wave Systems has sold what it claims to be the first commercial quantum computer, to defense contractor Lockheed Martin, for $10M USD.
Thursday marked the passing of philosopher and Jungian therapist James Hillman. Hillman is often known for his role in the Men's movement in the United States, though his main influence was to work to preserve the ideas of depth and soul in mental health practices.
