That afternoon, Storm was the guardian, and sent me afterwards the following log with his comments.

Storm was filling in for… hmmm… er… well anyway, he was guardian for the evening. Yes the 1pm slot was really evening for all the people who showed up. We were all spread across Europe, and three out of the four of us were exquisitely dressed. (Read on to discover who was the “odd one out”!)

    Moon Fargis: hi storm
    Storm Nordwind: Hi guys
    Fael Illyar: Hi Storm :)
Storm Nordwind: How is the meditative life with you? :)
    Moon Fargis: peacefull :)
Fael Illyar: It’s becoming a routine … as in, nothing especial.
    Storm Nordwind: Both good answers!
Fael Illyar: Although I still notice something interesting every once in a while.
    Storm Nordwind: Welcome Quilty
    Quilty Bookmite: Hi All.
    Moon Fargis: hi
Storm Nordwind: We have a bunch of highly dressed people tonight. And then there’s me! :)

Fael asked me a question about something in a recent blog entry of mine. I launched on a long explanation. We’d been happy in our silence up to then so no one interrupted.

Fael Illyar: Storm, in your blog, you were wondering about if PaB participants might need extra support. What sort were you thinking of?
Quilty Bookmite: I picked this up here so I thought I should wear it. :-)
    Fael Illyar: Hi Quilty :)
Storm Nordwind: Yes Quilty. They were going free I think
    Storm Nordwind: Fael…
Storm Nordwind: I wasn’t yet sure
Storm Nordwind: I was - as I said - thinking aloud
Storm Nordwind: There could be many such things but I am discussing them with people like Stim at the moment
Storm Nordwind: There are many different needs
Storm Nordwind: When I teach classes in RL I can be quickly sensitive to individual needs
    Storm Nordwind: That’s harder here
Storm Nordwind: To see the gradual transitions
Fael Illyar: Yes, less to observe.
    Storm Nordwind: Yes indeed.
Storm Nordwind: I’ll give you an example
Storm Nordwind: Several years ago I taught runes
Storm Nordwind: And I had a close group that I taught by correspondence
Storm Nordwind: The course lasted nearly two years
Storm Nordwind: I was doing a wide spectrum of work with students
Storm Nordwind: We started with historical grounding
Storm Nordwind: and we “debunked” many popular myths
Storm Nordwind: And we found out what they were originally used for
Storm Nordwind: And that was two things
    Storm Nordwind: First, obviously, writing
Storm Nordwind: Second, much less obviously, magic
Storm Nordwind: To explore the magical side of it, I set the students many exercises
Storm Nordwind: And I paid very close attention to their very frequent feedback
Storm Nordwind: When I observed certain things happening, I gave them individual instruction to help
Storm Nordwind: The point being that I needed them to be very open at the start of the course
Storm Nordwind: But being open as you develop magically…
Storm Nordwind: leaves you exposed to dangers after a certain point
Storm Nordwind: I had to watch for that point in each person
Storm Nordwind: and give them the ability to protect themselves
Storm Nordwind: But not too soon
Storm Nordwind: And not too late
Storm Nordwind: Now with PaB it is different
Storm Nordwind: But not completely different
Storm Nordwind: It is possible with PaB to reach quite startling experiences
Storm Nordwind: and for new people
Storm Nordwind: with no previous meditation training
Storm Nordwind: that can be difficult
Storm Nordwind: Talking around the table like this can help
Storm Nordwind: but it really needs close one-to-one help
Storm Nordwind: And having people on hand to deal with that would be just one kind of support
Storm Nordwind: Another thing would be to help people apply their changing consciousness to the rest of their lives
Storm Nordwind: And round table groups can help with that
Storm Nordwind: But they may develop in individual ways
Storm Nordwind: We may start here in the pavilion
Storm Nordwind: but then find there are large enough groups with similar needs and experiences to form extra groups
    Storm Nordwind: So - - -
Storm Nordwind: lots and lots to think about!
Storm Nordwind takes a drink of Diet Coke

In RL I paused and took a drink. Moon came the rescue with something more elegant and we all shared in it.

Fael Illyar: So, it’s more of a bit more distant future thinking than close future?
Moon Fargis reaches storm a cup of tea
Storm Nordwind: Thank you Moon. Yes Fael, it is
Moon Fargis gave you green tea Bizen.
green tea Bizen whispers: Thank you
GreenTea(Matcha): Mmmhh… enjoy the best green tea Fael Illyar
GreenTea(Matcha): Mmmhh… enjoy the best green tea Moon Fargis
    Quilty Bookmite: Thank you.
Storm Nordwind: But we are definitely looking to the long term with PaB
GreenTea(Matcha): Mmmhh… enjoy the best green tea Quilty Bookmite
Fael Illyar: Yes, of course :)
Storm Nordwind thinks the tea tastes better than Coke
Quilty Bookmite: Wakes you up more gently. :-)
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
    Storm Nordwind: yes

Fael was right. We are looking to the long term with Play as Being. How could we not?

Moon Fargis: storm: beutifull flowers moslty grows when they are not forced into a form
Storm Nordwind: Moon, you should tell that to bonsai gardeners! :)
Moon Fargis: oh i did so often
    Moon Fargis: hehe
    Fael Illyar: :)

Bonsai is not my favourite. There is beauty in structure. And often people are at their most creative when they are constrained. Creating beauty from complete freedom can be hard. But if you can do it, wow!

Storm Nordwind: So this seems to be a European evening
Moon Fargis: ah thats good then we wont talk until late nighttime :)
Quilty Bookmite: Are we all European?
Storm Nordwind: We all live in Europe I believe
    Fael Illyar: Yes, apparently :)
    Quilty Bookmite: :-)
Storm Nordwind: Scotland, England, Germany, Finland
    Quilty Bookmite: A fine mix.
Moon Fargis: draw a line from those 4 points on the worldmap and it draws a sinus curve!:)
Moon Fargis: atleast a half of it

I related a thought that had floated through my brain earlier today, almost as though it had been spoken to me.

Storm Nordwind: I had an interesting experience today at work that coincided with a 9 second meditation
    Fael Illyar: Yes?
Storm Nordwind: My company has just won a major industrial award
Storm Nordwind: It’s called the Queen’s Award to Industry
    Quilty Bookmite: Top award!
    Quilty Bookmite: Congratulations.
    Moon Fargis: queen?
Storm Nordwind: So we were visited by a member of the British Royal Family to unveil a wall plaque
    Moon Fargis: cool
    Storm Nordwind: Yes
Storm Nordwind: But it was interesting that his arrival coincides with the 9 second meditation
Storm Nordwind: And I was left with an interesting thought
Storm Nordwind: If you have a Christian background (I don’t really, but I know this) …
Storm Nordwind: you may know a quote from the Bible that includes something like this …
Storm Nordwind: “To whom much is given, much is expected”
Storm Nordwind: And that flashed into my mind, at the end of the 9 seconds, but it was changed
Storm Nordwind: I thought this instead:
Storm Nordwind: “To whom much is given, much is taken away.”
    Quilty Bookmite: :-)
Storm Nordwind: It was a sudden reminder of the impermanence of things
Fael Illyar: I like that. :)
Quilty Bookmite: Where you thinking of the royal family?
    Moon Fargis: quiet intresting
    Storm Nordwind: Yes
    Storm Nordwind: They have much
Storm Nordwind: And when they die they will lose much
Storm Nordwind: What have they gained in between
    Storm Nordwind: ?
Quilty Bookmite: I’m no royalist but they certainly have my sympathies.
    Storm Nordwind: Sure. Mine too
Storm Nordwind: The Queen’s son, who visited, still has a fine if demanding, life
Quilty Bookmite: He especially has my sympathies.
    Storm Nordwind: Yes indeed
Storm Nordwind: And it reminded me of Buddhist meditations where you imagine yourself leaving this world
Storm Nordwind: And leaving all of that behind
Quilty Bookmite: There has been some research done that shows that peoples perception of their own happiness depends on what they have in comparison to the people around them.
Moon Fargis: dhzogchen? (i still cant spel this word :)
Storm Nordwind: I’m glad I have left that behind Quilty! :)
    Quilty Bookmite: Indeed. :-)
Storm Nordwind: Moon, you mean “dzogchen”. But what was your point about it? :)
Moon Fargis: ahyes… dzogchen .. dzogchen.. dzogchen.. all let me practise a bit… dzogchen .. ok i hink i got it
    Storm Nordwind: hehe
Moon Fargis: ahh about the “leaving this world”
Storm Nordwind: Yes. Though that’s a little beyond what I meant in this case!
    Moon Fargis: ah ok
Storm Nordwind: I have monopolised the conversation. I am so sorry. Please - does anyone else want to share anything?

Moon indeed had something to share and he handed them out to everyone!

Moon Fargis gave you pab logo kopf (wear).
Moon Fargis: well.. try this :) maybe you like it:)
Quilty Bookmite: What am I wearing on my nose then?
    Moon Fargis: ^_^ well
Moon Fargis: i was a bit bored that day
    Storm Nordwind: I see it
Fael Illyar: yes, the wearable logo is nice :)
Quilty Bookmite: It’s very glittery. Thank you. :-)
Moon Fargis: seems your face is a bit large storm

Moon was too far away to kick under the table!

Storm Nordwind: But I have to edit mine for position
    Moon Fargis: yep
    Storm Nordwind: No problem
Storm Nordwind: I saw it on transparent view
Quilty Bookmite: Mine’s just about on the third eye. I assume that’s right.
    Moon Fargis: yes
    Quilty Bookmite: Good. Thank you.

I adjusted mine and soon, before we each went our separate ways, we were all wearing our glowing logos. It took me back to the year 1968 when, in my teens, a band called Tyrannosaurus Rex released their first album. It was called, “My People Were Fair and Had Sky in Their Hair… But Now They’re Content to Wear Stars on Their Brows”. And indeed, we all had stars on our brows!
