Pia Iger: I realize it kind of sounds rude, my response. but I was thinking like that yesterday.
Fael Illyar: would that be peaceful?
Pia Iger: not very peaceful. I feel even at the edge of crisis, I can still be fine in some way.
Fael Illyar: do you feel like talking about it?
Faenik: why not?
Pia Iger: I don't really have any specific crisis. I was talking in general term.
Pia Iger: Even we have a lots of issues, we can still be safe and stable in a fundamental sense.

Pia Iger: I mean, good or bad does not attract me as before.
Fael Illyar: So just a vague feeling of some sort of crisis about to come?

Pia Iger: just a general feeling of ups and downs of life, or life details. They always exist. But on the top of that, I am ok with that. maybe that is word : acceptance.

Gaya Ethaniel: i came close to that realisation the other day too Pia
Pia Iger: how so?
Gaya Ethaniel: i've been pondering 'life is suffering' and going between acceptance of this statment and being feeling sad/angry about it
Pia Iger: what were you angry about?
Fael Illyar: "life is suffering" is a mistranslation I think :)
Pia Iger: yes, Fael, it is not its face value.
Fael Illyar: the word Dukha, actually means wobbly axle.

Gaya Ethaniel: that why 'should life contain suffering'? - yes Fael that was the crucial point that made me realise & accept how things are (being here SL taught me that)

Fael Illyar: To teach someone something, the best way is to be what you teach.
Fael Illyar: is something that just popped into my mind :)
Gaya Ethaniel: i've learnt that also 'allowing myself to teach myself'

Pia Iger: in SL sense, one and half month. ( ah, an easy answer to a big question)

Fael Illyar: trying to apply this "the best way to teach something is to be that something." to teaching yourself ... I somehow get the feeling I do that.
Pia Iger: can you give any example?
Fael Illyar: When I try out something, I tend to just dive in the deep end.
Fael Illyar: perhaps after watching others diving for a while.
Gaya Ethaniel: :) :(
Pia Iger: so the best way to learn is to be that thing, too?
Fael Illyar: no thoughts about being able to. those are a disability no matter which way you think them.
Gaya Ethaniel: so why watching others diving rather than go striaght in when you get there?
Fael Illyar: to have an idea of how it's done.
Fael Illyar: often much faster to start by imitating someone skilled than just try to figure out everything yourself.
Pia Iger: yes, just connecting... like we learn to see Being here, we do it by play as Being!
Fael Illyar: Yes, dive in the deep end :)

Gaya Ethaniel: connecting is an interesting word to me here... how do we come by where we decide to make that connection?
Fael Illyar: what do you mean by connecting Pia?
Pia Iger: I mean my mind connect what Fael said about the best way to learn, TO our practice play as being.

Gaya Ethaniel: there are many ways , ie religions, philosophy and science and i wonder what makes one attracts to a particular field in learning about oneself
Pia Iger: good question. Are you attracted to a particular field?
Gaya Ethaniel: hmm... not just one i think. i'm interested to know things that i'm not aware of
Fael Illyar: Yes, me too I think.
Fael Illyar: but we somehow do end up mostly pursuing certain field somehow, usually
Pia Iger: The inner interest says a lot about a person.
Gaya Ethaniel: 'inner'?
Pia Iger: or innate?
Faenik: why not?
Pia Iger: the strong passion for a special field.
Gaya Ethaniel: not sure about 'passion', how would this manifest?
Pia Iger: as ppl would devote themself to some work, an example in my mind, like Madame Curie
Gaya Ethaniel: so that passion you mean is similar to what Fael said about 'pursuing' certain field?
Pia Iger: yes, there are ppl pursuing with inexplicable enthusiastism.
Gaya Ethaniel: i want to clarify whether 'passion' equates to 'spiritual' experience
Fael Illyar: I guess it's that we choose a field to put our effort in because that gets more tangible results than spending our time on everything equally.

Pia Iger: results can be one incentive. but some times we also pursue without knowing whether there will be result.
Pia Iger: unknown itself can be a strong magnet.
Fael Illyar: Ah, true

Prosper Telling: Back in the nineties I worked in healthcare and it was one of those jobs for me
Fael Illyar: Pema ordered sirens, neon and steam...well, he got sirens and neon but fireworks instead of steam :)
Prosper Telling: Ultimately I walked away... had invested too much of myself in it.
Prosper Telling: Sirens, this early in the morning... better than coffee for waking up
