The theme that will guide my 99 Days explorations during the next three months is
"Where I Hide: Ordinary Space, Available Light."
Each day I will post a photo of something I encounter daily - with an aim of "seeing" it better just as it is -- in available light, no posing, no polishing. If impressions come to mind, I might include with each photo a few words of explanation and/or insight.
My first photo is of the satellite modem that makes this sharing possible . . . when it works.
I'll also include a link to each day's full-scale photo - for those who wish a closer view:

I notice I'm a person of vehicles and riding vehicles. In SL, I build vehicles because they're fun as well as marginally utilitarian. But I'm also a person that sees no differentiation between SL and RL. In both, my mind rides an avatar (which I may have some affection for, but with which I scarcely identify). And my awareness rides my mind.
So my first theme is to take care of one particular vehicle, my RL avatar, to which I normally pay about as much attention as to any of my SL avatars - in order words, almost zero. It has become unfit, so I intend to walk it around each early morning, starting today when I got it to shamble over two-thirds of a mile in the crisp mountain air.
My second theme is for the mind that rides the avatar. My Duolingo account has just materialized, so I'll be seeing how I can make progress with that (as Spanish is big here). Don't know how that will work time-wise yet. More comments as I find out.
My third theme is for the awareness that rides the mind. I'm writing a book for my teacher Lokeshvara, and want to make steady progress on that over the coming months. Hopefully it will be useful to some people. A little habit and regularity will help, as will attending to the fitness of the mind vehicle and the physical avatar. More comments on this as I go along.
Good idea Bruce. Photo shows what I use. Don't know why I don't use photos more. I'm thinking of my meditation practice as a theme. I think I have been doing it to mechanically and perfunctorily lately.
Looking forward to joining you all as time permits in my next 99 days which, in addition to including my standing meditation that I do daily before my Tai Chi, I have been "playing" with the Karuna-metta meditation at Storm's pavilion over the next 90 days as well as a more deep focus on my standing mediations.

Thanks for the reminder of the Karuna-metta meditation! I shall try that this month. My target for this session is embarrassingly simple: just to show up every day. No fancy practice, just sitting.
