Watched a TV documentary about the various apocalyptic events that can befall us. From a caldera in Yellowstone National Park to asteroids on a collision course with us...kilometer high tsunamis etc...Makes me think what insignificant little creatures we are in the grand scheme of things though we assume everything will continue as the day before...and it heightens my sense of 'only this now exists,' and how futile to have much trust in the future.
Late in the day to be posting... I listened to the Tolle video when on the treadmill last night ... ty Zen. :)
As for today, long talk with Friend, personal musings re integration, equanimity, and openness, now on the way back to the treadmill... little by little adding bits of running, which feels good after years of being very, maybe too, careful.
Preparing for and entertaining visitors today. Managed Karuna-metta this morning before taking the 7am session. Otherwise very busy. But the freezer maintenance guy called and, spotting the statues around, we can a pleasant chat about Buddhism. :)
The inner-ear condition called "BPPV" -- probably aggravated by the trailer demolition -- now causes me to experience vertigo constantly. This morning a physical therapist worked on me for two hours, doing the Epley maneuver twice to alleviate the symptoms. The dizziness is much worse now . . . which means she might finally have been successful in dislodging the "crystal." I sure hope so. We might be nearing the end of an eleven-month ordeal.
