Interesting what Bruce said about judging. I guess judging is the next step from labelling and classifying. Even saying something is good creates a class of things that aren't so good, or are bad. I have to learn to accept things the way they are without rushing to make a judgement of any kind upon them, especially on people. People are the way they are because of all the circumstances that went on before in their lives. edited 17:35, 8 May 2012

Is labelling, classifying or arranging necessarily bad?
Almost every action I consciously take is the result of some judgement, of discernment, of making a choice. Every coloured pencil stroke on that pine cone drawing is the result of a decision based on judgement. The opposite might be complete stillness and no pine cone image at all. edited 19:08, 8 May 2012

"the foolish are trapped by karma while the wise are freed by it" is a Stonepeace quote I came across some years ago and which feels to me to speak to this matter of discernment and judging which is such an issue for so many of us aspiring to peace and genuineness. fwiw :)

Odd day today. Slept only a short while so also slept this afternoon. Tonight I will get my exercise in a different way! Going to a gig. :) My middle daughter's "other half" is on tour with his band. Tonight they play the smallest venue on their tour, a tiny place in Denver. I'll get to meet him for the first time. I can do the "judgmental dad" thing! ;) As long as they don't pull me up on stage to do guest lead guitar, I'll be OK.
