I was at all day meditation today. A friend read this quotation from Rumi:

"Summer is the time for celebration. God is waiting for you to smear your hands with His honey. He's been playing a game of hide-and-seek, but here's His clue-His home is your heart. Unlock the heart door. You are pregnant with God. Give birth to your love-child. Let sweet love wash you clean of bitterness. Get drunk on devotion until you don't know what's what. Give up being so sensible; it's getting you nowhere. Try being spontaneous. Try a little madness. Strip off the concepts that clothe your consciousness and become aware of naked awareness. That's the doorway to the Presence (understanding of God). You'll know when you find what you are looking for, because it will taste so good. You won't need a certificate as proof. There will be no doubt. Are you ready to get your hands all sweet and sticky? Then catch the moment. That's not difficult. There is only this moment.'

'Unlock the heart door...give up being so sensible...' Yes!! Searching for the keys...

This is such a wonderful excerpt, Zen.

"Let sweet love wash you clean of bitterness."

SUCH a beautiful line and sensibility, the way Rumi is happy to be a fool... no feeling that he is trying to 'sound like' a fool but that he is really suggesting - "Sally in; this is it!" And actually, nowhere to go, Life is fully what it is.

I ask myself what this would mean.. what rocks in my scope can I turn over.. excavating this very moment? And, I don't know but there is a presence that arises suggesting desire heard... that the question itself is worthy.

Began today, to write about memory, but thus far the topic is illusive (hah) in pinning down to a question or exploration. Perhaps it was an ambitious angle...

At the end of a long day, karuna-metta.

I thought to add more to the Dome. I thought about doing an interactive SL version of the Game of Life (John Horton Conway, 1970). Or a graphical demonstration of yesterday's comment about a cup already being full, this time with a faucet and running water, and the needing to 'stand under' it to get any 'understanding'. But instead I took an aerial shot and made new maps for the noticeboards at the doorways, effectively setting things in stone. Setting motion in stone - ha!

Long ago, I gave up being sensible. Long ago I became spontaneous in the Now. Or so I thought. Perhaps it is so, compared to many others. Perhaps. But I could go further!
