Thought to share a few things that came across my way this morning (attachment pics). I especially like the line "What if it is a big hoax and we create a better world for nothing?" It had that feeling like... could just apply to so many things. What if one is too trusting and someone takes advantage? What if one is too nice and someone equates that with lack of intelligence? What if.. What if... the defensive position.
Equally one could play what ifs in a more open way, along the Kira lines of "what else is true?" There is no reason to stop going into a line of thinking really... could take it [whateveritis] beyond conclusion.
Along these lines, i have been preoccupied with mandala images lately. Some 'religious' practitioners speak of the whole world of experience, of phenomena, as a mandala... and ways of seeing that mandala... ways of letting that mandala open, so there is a third image I'll add to today's pictures, which I like quite a lot.

Someone questioned Lokeshvara's recipe for happiness yesterday saying, "A great example in how ethical theory is rooted in egoism. If you're putting others before yourself to be happy, your real motivation is happiness. Thus, you're actually being self-interested." Again, so what? It works. Sounds like a win-win to me!
If it were a penance to serve others, only a few would do so. It wouldn't be a very accessible practice. Thankfully the reverse is the case.
Karuna-metta meditation this evening.
