That morning, I was a couple minutes late coming into the pavilion, because SL was acting up, but when I finally got in, things stabilized somewhat. Fael and Adams and Riddle where already in the middle of a conversation, when I joined.

    Fael Illyar: Hi Pema
    Adams Rubble: hi Pema :)
    Riddle Sideways: Triangle thhingies?
    Pema Pera: Hi everybody!
Adams Rubble gave you Popcorn (Right-Click and Wear it!).
    Riddle Sideways: Hi Pema
    Pema Pera: popcorn?
Adams Rubble: yes, the screen is broken into triangles
Pema Pera: Are we going to watch a movie?
Adams Rubble: I am a bit piqued this morning and I am eating
    Pema Pera: :)
Riddle Sideways: Popcorn is not just another movie food
Fael Illyar: Pema, I sent you two emails just now.
    Pema Pera: ah!
    Pema Pera: thanks
Pema Pera pondering how to parse Riddle’s sentence
    Fael Illyar: :D
Pema Pera thought it was THE American movie food
    Faenik loves wells!
Pema Pera: from THE to another to just to not just
Riddle Sideways: sorry, it is a joke off of another phrase
    Pema Pera: ?
Riddle Sideways: popcorn for breakfast is ok
Pema Pera shivers at the thought
Fael Illyar: Pema, the last log you emailed me about is almost perfect. You somehow pasted it in a way that removes the html completely I think.
Pema Pera: hmmm. I’ll have to experiment then
Pema Pera: I just did a cut and paste from the wiki as it appeared
Fael Illyar: Which will be helpful with some of those logs, actually
    Faenik: ah :)
Pema Pera: I know what I did wrong, Fael
Pema Pera: I’m normally always in “html” editing mode
Pema Pera: and I forgot to click back to generic
Pema Pera: so that got rid of the html that was hidden
Fael Illyar: ah, ok, that explains it then :)

While we were talking, and given that the most serious session topic at the time was popcorn, I felt justified to experiment with the wiki-blog conversion briefly, at the side.

    Pema Pera: arrggghhhh
    Pema Pera: it turned blue!
Riddle Sideways: Popcorn is amazing stuff
Pema Pera: well, you can have a look
Riddle Sideways: you can eat and eat and eat it
Riddle Sideways: and not really get full
Pema Pera: I didn’t mind blue on the wiki, as long as it didn’t spill over onto the blog . . .
    Pema Pera: oh well
    Adams Rubble: Yes Riddle :)
Fael Illyar: it will spill over since people mark it blue, it’s not stylesheet
Riddle Sideways: the only thing that happens is your keyboard gets buttery
    Pema Pera: :)
Adams Rubble: Unless you eat it without butter :)
    Riddle Sideways: true
Fael Illyar: You’ll have to complain publicly if you want it to stop :)
Adams Rubble: then there are just the little kernal bits
Riddle Sideways: Pema has gone enlightened again
Pema Pera: I thought popcorn would elevate me

Between buttery fingers, floating avatars, and wiki and blog formatting issues the conversation drifted on :-).

Adams Rubble: We were kind of told to use blue yesterday at the guardian meeting
    Riddle Sideways: it did
Pema Pera: but as soon as I dropped the popcorn I got elevated instead
Fael Illyar: or you could just mark the whole thing black with one action
    Pema Pera: how?
Fael Illyar: I think the floating is caused by other scripted objecs canceling animation.
Adams Rubble: Must be bad popcorn
Pema Pera: how do I make it black Fael?
    Riddle Sideways: very light popcorn
    Faenik loves wells!
Fael Illyar: in the editor, select all (ctrl-a) and … oh great, it just adds color definition everywhere.
    Pema Pera: ?
Fael Illyar is trying out things.
Pema Pera: In my blog I prefer to keep it black, as I have been doing so far
Pema Pera: What the wiki will look like is up to the consensus among the guardians
    Pema Pera: Any preferences here?
Riddle Sideways: probably need a “comments” style
Riddle Sideways: that the blog does not use
Adams Rubble: Well yesterday the concensus seemed to be used blue so I used it for my entry
Fael Illyar: Yes, I was just thinking that.
Fael Illyar: but I wonder if it’s possible to add styles to the dropdown list
    Riddle Sideways: brb
Fael Illyar: there’s a button that will remove formatting from the text but apparently doesn’t touch blockquotes
Fael Illyar: in the wiki’s editor
Fael Illyar: so if you select all text and click that, that should be the format you’ve used for blog

Sky joined us, even though she had been with us the previous session as well, less than six hours ago.

    Adams Rubble: Hello Sky :)
    Pema Pera: Hi Sky!
    Fael Illyar: Hi Sky
Pema Pera: Did you have a good sleep, Sky?
    Sky Szimmer: Hi Everyone.
Sky Szimmer: Yes I did and I came to tell you all is well and thank you.
Pema Pera: I’m glad to hear that
    Faenik: なるほど^^
    Fael Illyar: all is well?
Pema Pera: I was wondering whether I’d been a bit too rough on you last session :)
Fael Illyar: ah, refers to last session?
    Sky Szimmer: you were harsh!
Sky Szimmer: but it was tough love. so hugs!
    Fael Illyar: truthful :)
    Pema Pera: hugs indeed!
Fael Illyar: no shielding from truth :)
Pema Pera: not for Sky, for sure!
Pema Pera: always asking the most probing questions
Pema Pera: so the question is how to keep probing then
Sky Szimmer: they are my koans but then sometimes. it is good to just stop
Pema Pera: can you say more, Sky?
Pema Pera: about “good to stop”?

Ah, Sky knew how to push my buttons, it seemed :>).

Sky Szimmer: the way i practice is i read teachings and i try to see if i understand
Pema Pera: and if you don’t?
Sky Szimmer: if i dont, then i keep pondering over and over until i see
Fael Illyar: Oh, Adams, when I was reading your blog a while ago. I got this idea of clouds rushing in to clear the sky :)

I was a bit puzzled by Fael’s comment, but wanted to respond to Sky first. Meanwhile Gaya joined us.

Sky Szimmer: but then, sometimes, it isn’t necessary to know.
    Pema Pera: Hi Gaya
    Adams Rubble: hello Gaya
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello everyone
Sky Szimmer: as all it is is minding
    Fael Illyar: Hi Gaya
    Sky Szimmer: hi Gaya!
    Pema Pera: haha, Fael!
Pema Pera: well, Sky, that is the point where I got a bit harsh
Pema Pera: that last point: when you say:
Pema Pera: it’s not necessary to know, it is all this or that
Pema Pera: frankly, there it sounds like you’re giving up
    Pema Pera: dropping the ball
    Pema Pera becoming harsh again . . . .
Pema Pera: does it feel like that to you too?
Pema Pera: or do you think I’m misreading you there?
Pema Pera: let’s figure this out together
Pema Pera: and more than together
    Riddle Sideways: back
    Pema Pera: with the group
    Pema Pera: wb Riddle
Sky Szimmer: yes Pema. you have misunderstood.

I was glad to hear that, since I had been mainly probing, in the hope to hear more.

    Riddle Sideways: Hi shy, Gaya
    Gaya Ethaniel: wb riddle
Fael Illyar: Adams, are you there?
    Adams Rubble: yes :)
    Faenik: ah :)
Pema Pera: can you say more Sky?
Sky Szimmer: i never valued writing but i think i will start so i can better articulate my understanding
    Sky Szimmer: to myself
Pema Pera: that would be great!
Fael Illyar: I sort of expected some reaction to my comment :)
Pema Pera: I really think that will help
Sky Szimmer: yes. me too : )
    Pema Pera: which one, Fael?
Adams Rubble: Fael was talking to me
    Pema Pera: ?
Adams Rubble: about the clouds rushing in :)
    Pema Pera: !
    Adams Rubble: :) Fael
Faenik is a hairy black ball with eyes and ears.
Pema Pera: Sky, you start with probing questions, and then at some point you seem to resign yourself in not finding answers — is that a correct interpretation?
Sky Szimmer: no. i keep going. but i am lazy. want you to answer it and when you don’t, i say to you nevermind.
Pema Pera: Let me put it this way: if you struggle and then suddenly something breaks through, you can say: “aha, now I see” and then say in your own words what you have seen.
Pema Pera: but if you slow down and repeat a sentence you have heard, that is very different
Pema Pera: and I agree that it is of course good to slow down sometimes, not force yourself too much, but that should be a short break, not an endpoint
Fael Illyar is mostly just paying attention to hidden assumptions.
Pema Pera: The basic idea of PaB is continuity
Pema Pera: as an antidote for stopping or slowing down too much.
    Pema Pera: Yes, Fael?
Fael Illyar: most sentences have assumptions behind them that can be inferred

Sky came back to the “am” as in “I am”. I wanted to respond to Fael as well, but again did not want to lose the thread of Sky’s conversation.

Sky Szimmer: i see that the dream is spontaneously happening in the am. it is the i that wants to put a concept to it
Sky Szimmer: but the am is before all concepts and all knowing
Pema Pera: Ah, Sky, perhaps I see what you mean now — it is your way of understating what you do, to get off the hook of me questioning, but not a giving up in fact?
Sky Szimmer: : ) you got me.
Pema Pera: and yes, what you just said sounds fine, yes, the two sentences before
Pema Pera: Sorry to focus so much, but I wanted to make sure I understood Sky
Pema Pera: as well as I can
    Pema Pera: :)
Pema Pera wondering who can understand the sky . . .
    Riddle Sideways: the sky is
Pema Pera: Fael, did you want to say more, or anyone else? Didn’t mean to cut anyone off
Sky Szimmer: just came to tell you all is well. pema. and that i will start writing after being hounded by you for so long to write down my thought. think it will help me articulate better and also clear up any confusion more. thanks.
    Pema Pera: WONDERFUL!!!
Adams Rubble has an unrelated question
Fael Illyar: Ah, got a bit distracted.
    Sky Szimmer: Ciao!
Pema Pera: I’m really looking forward to see/hear you writing, Sky
    Pema Pera: by Sky!
Gaya Ethaniel: no pls continue i was catching up on what’s been said thanks to Fael
    Adams Rubble: bye Sky
    Riddle Sideways: bye Sky

Sky left us. I am very much looking forward to hear about her writing!

    Pema Pera: Yes, Adams?
Adams Rubble: Am I on the right track if I equate Being with reality?
    Faenik: why not?
Pema Pera: Well, Being is a word I use for pointing to something that I experience
Fael Illyar: about the hidden assumptions, I think there are a few hidden assumptions that I use to infer whether a sentence is correct or not. and also use those for “fixing” the meanings of the sentences
Pema Pera: or better that experiences me
Riddle Sideways: reality is part of Being and is a very good view point
Pema Pera: and to say that it is like something else is tricky . . . .
Riddle Sideways: perhaps not limit yourself to only reality
Fael Illyar: oh right, came up with a way to define this “Information” I was talking about a few days ago. That’s wordlress thought.
Adams Rubble echoes ah Being is the experience
Pema Pera: unfortunately I have to leave in a couple minutes
Pema Pera: and I can see at least four interesting strands here dangling
Pema Pera: each asking for a significant discussion
    Pema Pera: :-)
Pema Pera: I have my astro meeting coming up

This was one of these sessions where everything had started very leisurely, only to pick up speed and multiplicity more and more, till I had to leave.

Fael Illyar: please summarize fast, I’ll write them down
    Pema Pera: summarize?
Fael Illyar: Yes, something that’s enough to start a topic :)
Fael Illyar: in meetings that don’t seem to want to start otherwise
Gaya Ethaniel: guess Fael means the 4 strands?
Pema Pera: hidden assumptions is a good one
    Fael Illyar: yes, those
    Faenik: なるほど^^
    Pema Pera: one strand
Pema Pera: the question whether Being is like X (e.g. reality) is another strand
Pema Pera: the question about what it means to ask whether Being is like X is a whole different strand
Adams Rubble echoes or experiences me
Pema Pera: a most interesting one in fact
Pema Pera: there too the hidden assumptions come in
Pema Pera: Why do you want to know whether Being is like X?
Pema Pera: an interesting question to ask yourself — in a neutral way
Adams Rubble: Yes, I don;t have an answer to that
Pema Pera: Then Riddle’s suggestion that Reality is part of Being is an interesting strnad too
Adams Rubble: I want to know what Being is
    Riddle Sideways: another strand
Adams Rubble: if it is the experience, then Riddles statement follows
Pema Pera: But I think the hidden assumption idea coupled with “why do I ask whether Being is like X” is a good combined strand perhaps?
    Adams Rubble: an experience
Pema Pera: Adams: I want to know what Being is –> Being IS
Pema Pera: Sorry, have to go now!
Pema Pera: Look forward to discussing this further!
    Gaya Ethaniel: see u pema
Fael Illyar: Ok, see you later Pema :)
    Pema Pera: bfn!
Adams Rubble: bye Pema, thank you
    Riddle Sideways: ok, bye Pema
