Storm Nordwind was the guardian for this session. The comments are Storm's.

Scathach and Claire was there as I arrived at the pavilion, but Claire was just leaving and Adelene was arriving. And although we stayed for an hour, we all said very little, enjoying the peace and quiet, and some of us perhaps sated from New Year festivities. Two of us had moves in the offing, one within two weeks, the other within two months, and we mused about how to choose between what to take and what to leave.

Adelene Dawner is busy packing (needed a break at a good time) and has noticed that choosing what to take with her when she moves is quite a bit like meditating.
    Scathach Rhiadra: how so, Adeline?
Adelene Dawner: Well, the stuff is like thoughts... trying to keep it all would just lead to chaos, so I have to take the time to decide what to keep, and get rid of the rest... and 'is this potentially useful' is not a useful criteria for deciding what to keep, because everything is potentially useful or I wouldn't have it in the first place.
Storm Nordwind: Have you tried the "attic test"?
    Adelene Dawner: hm?
    Scathach Rhiadra: whats that?
Storm Nordwind: You find something in the attic and say "The last time I saw this was the last time I moved" Life needn't be burdened by things that you only use or even see every few years!
    Adelene Dawner nods.
Adelene Dawner: That's pretty well what I've been doing with the stuff I just got from my parents' house. Most of it is books, and if I don't recognize the book and know what's in it by looking at the cover, out it goes. That eliminates 80% of them, and the rest are ones I'd been wanting to read again.
Storm Nordwind: ebay is good. I'm just donating everything to me local Buddhist centre when I leave!
Adelene Dawner: I don't have time - I'm leaving the state a week from today.
Scathach Rhiadra: hmm, I'm very attached to my books, can't seem to ever give away or throw out
Adelene Dawner: I know all about that, Scathach. It feels like sacrilege, leaving boxes of books out by the dumpster, even though I *am* giving my neighbors a chance to hopefully take some of them and read them.
    Scathach Rhiadra nods
Adelene Dawner: There's not much point in me keeping them if they're just going to sit in a box for the next however many years, tho.
Scathach Rhiadra: true, but its a hard decision to make:)
Adelene Dawner nods. "Thinking of it as meditating helps, though."
    Adelene Dawner: Hullo, Adams!
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Adams
Adams Dubrovna: Hello everyone. I will wait until I see you
Squee: Power Corrupts - Isn't that what it's for?
    Adelene Dawner chuckles at Squee.
Storm Nordwind: Well I'm parting with anything that's cheaper to buy in Colorado than to transport there from Scotland!
    Adelene Dawner: makes sense :)
Storm Nordwind: That means I'm giving away my guitars for a start
Storm Nordwind: Which will feel odd
    Adelene Dawner nods.
    Scathach Rhiadra: :)

Adams had not sat down. Now he whooshed past us!

Storm Nordwind: Adams the sprinter? ;)
    Adams Dubrovna: sigh
    Adelene Dawner: ?
Adams Dubrovna: I have been trying to get here since 4 pm. SL is very weird for me today
    Adelene Dawner: ah
Storm Nordwind: We are relatively quiet this evening - which is fine. :)
    Scathach Rhiadra: :)
Adams Dubrovna: So I am not missing conversation then !!?!
Storm Nordwind: No Adams. This time we were not talking about you behind your back! ;)
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
    Scathach Rhiadra: :)
    Adams Dubrovna: this time?
    Storm Nordwind smiles
Storm Nordwind: I do want to go in good time for the talk in the Cafe though.
Adams Dubrovna: It sounds interesting sorry I have to miss it
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Tarmel:)
    Tarmel Udimo: hello folks
    Adams Dubrovna: Hello Tarmel
    Storm Nordwind: Hi Tarmel
    Storm Nordwind: Welcome Celleon
Tarmel Udimo: hi everyone this is my friend celleon
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Celleon
Adams Dubrovna: Hello Celleon. Nice to meet you
Celleon Aboma: Hello Tarmel and Adams
Storm Nordwind: Can we assume Tarmel that you have told Celleon all about this? I trust that and the ON AIR signs means we can assume quoting permission is already OK?
    Tarmel Udimo: yes I have
    Storm Nordwind: Cool :)
Celleon Aboma: Yes, I'm fine with it all

We trailed the next event at the Kira Cafe.

Tarmel Udimo: is there a lecture in the Kira cafe today
    Storm Nordwind: Should be interesting
Storm Nordwind: Yes there is, in just under 30 minutes
Tarmel Udimo: what's the lecture's again?
Storm Nordwind looks up the topic
Scathach Rhiadra: acting and directing plays in SL
Storm Nordwind: The talk is 'But is it really *theatre*? by Prospero Frobozz
Tarmel Udimo: or are you talking about science?
Tarmel Udimo: oh thanks - celleon used to produce radio drama plays she might enjoy that
Storm Nordwind: I think Pros has got some slides
Storm Nordwind: Not sure whether he's doing it in voice or not
    Scathach Rhiadra: brb
    Tarmel Udimo: okay
    Adams Dubrovna: Hello Pila
    Pila Mulligan: hi
Pila Mulligan: I hope everyone has had a happy new day of the new year
Adams Dubrovna: yes, good. and hope you did too
    Pila Mulligan: yep, thanks :)

    Another long silence.

Storm Nordwind: This must be the quietest meeting considering the number of people that I've been to. New Year satiation perhaps? Or just everyone enjoying the quiet? :)
    Scathach Rhiadra: back
    Tarmel Udimo: enjoying the quiet
    Pila Mulligan: hi Steve
Adams Dubrovna: Quiet is fine :)
    Storm Nordwind nods
Squee: The worst mistake anyone can make is being to afraid to make one.
    Adams Dubrovna: Hi Steve
Celleon Aboma: I'm enjoying the quiet. after the new year
