Genesis was GOC, subbing for Becka.

    genesis Zhangsun: Hey Adams
    genesis Zhangsun: Hey Crusty
Crusty Goldshark: Yes only a few hundred days before Christmas . . .
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
    Crusty Goldshark: hi genesis
Adams Dubrovna: Can't be ready too soon :)
genesis Zhangsun: So is the hat a permanent fixture on your head Crusty?
Crusty Goldshark: I have no idea of permenance in real life or SL
    Crusty Goldshark: :)
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
genesis Zhangsun: I can accept that answer :)
    herman Bergson is Offline
genesis Zhangsun: So these Guardian meeting things spread out over four weekends doesn't seem to be working so well or?
    genesis Zhangsun: *four days
    Adams Dubrovna: Fewer people anyway
Adams Dubrovna: Are you GOC today?
Crusty Goldshark: I am quite a few people - if that is any help . . .
genesis Zhangsun: I am subbing for Becka
Adams Dubrovna: Thanks Crusty, that will help the totals
Crusty Goldshark: Do we have a quota to fill?
    genesis Zhangsun: yes
Adams Dubrovna: How many you got?
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
genesis Zhangsun: at least a couple under your hat :P
Crusty Goldshark: Ok I will tell some Puppy users to turn up occasionally - Puppy Linux
Adams Dubrovna remembers all his own selves, identities and other things coming out of the woodwork
Adams Dubrovna: We have a big vrowd here today
    Adams Dubrovna: crowd
    genesis Zhangsun: :)
Crusty Goldshark: Maybe we need more orgies?
genesis Zhangsun: How is that all going by the way Adams have you been successful in killing any of them off?
    Crusty Goldshark: or more advertising
Adams Dubrovna: No I have to learn to live with them all :)
    genesis Zhangsun: full house :)
Adams Dubrovna: Sometimes it is nicer to have a small group Crusty :)
    Crusty Goldshark: rue enough
    Adams Dubrovna: interesting typo :)
    Crusty Goldshark: true
    Crusty Goldshark: :)
Crusty Goldshark: I must admit I only use SL to come here - have not found anything else worth doing - what am I missing out on?
genesis Zhangsun: speaking of quotas...Well Crusty dear there is the fantastic and intriguing KIRA CAFE!
    genesis Zhangsun: :)
Adams Dubrovna: This may be the most worthwhile thing to do in SL :)
genesis Zhangsun: aside from the wonderful KIRA CAFE!
Crusty Goldshark: yes been to the cafe - 3 times I think
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
genesis Zhangsun: what did you think?
Crusty Goldshark: It was the same as here - went with people from here
genesis Zhangsun: right yeah a lot of PaBers over there too :)
Crusty Goldshark: What SL seems to be is IRC with visuals
Crusty Goldshark: So I am trying to understand how it is useful to others ;)
Crusty Goldshark: I enjoyed travelling about but find console games have better visuals . . .
Adams Dubrovna: It is like R: in the sense we find what we enjoy doing most I think
genesis Zhangsun: ooo "IRC with visuals" that is hitting below the belt crusty ;)
    Adams Dubrovna: What is IRC?
Crusty Goldshark: I do not mean to be disparaging - I just wonder how the potential is being used - IRC = text chat
    Tara Farmer is Online
    genesis Zhangsun: "internet relay communication"
    Adams Dubrovna: ah, thanks
genesis Zhangsun: not sure Crusty I guess thats what I am doing right now in my job
genesis Zhangsun: trying to find out what the potential is
Adams Dubrovna: I came into SL to look at the art creations
Adams Dubrovna: Some interesting work being done there
Crusty Goldshark: For example if I was a magician - I would be interested in paracticing virtual rituals with others
Adams Dubrovna: yes, you could do that
Crusty Goldshark: OK - art creations makes -sense - will look out for those - seen a few sculptures ;)
genesis Zhangsun: people are also doing some interesting scientific modeling work too
    genesis Zhangsun: and data visualizations
Adams Dubrovna: Some of us are working on an exhibition to examine the art sites with sacred themes
    Crusty Goldshark: Excellent!
genesis Zhangsun: yes Adams sorry I haven't responded yet about the event
Crusty Goldshark: Well all this makes perfect sense
genesis Zhangsun: but and event on 2/6 did you say?
Adams Dubrovna: yes that would work. What to you think of 12 noon SLT before PaB and Kira?
Crusty Goldshark: thanks for the info - will search along those lines :)
Adams Dubrovna: I will let you know more when we are done Crusty
genesis Zhangsun: that could be fine...I would just have to replace our usual 12pm Happy Hour with this event
genesis Zhangsun: but I think that would be interesting for regulars
genesis Zhangsun: and would get more participants
genesis Zhangsun: (we moved HH to 12pm from 2pm)
    Adams Dubrovna: Ah, didn;t notice
genesis Zhangsun: When will I be able to see it and start thinking about an event?
    Crusty Goldshark: hi soul
    genesis Zhangsun: Hi Soul
Adams Dubrovna: There is one sample display now which just happens to be a building on our campus :)
    Soul Jupiter: hi guys
genesis Zhangsun: have you been here before Soul?
Soul Jupiter: what r u doin here?
    Adams Dubrovna: Hi Soul
    Soul Jupiter: nop
genesis Zhangsun: we are part of a group called "Play as Being"
genesis Zhangsun: for more information you can click on the information sign
genesis Zhangsun: but basically we are a group in SL exploring the nature of reality
Adams Dubrovna gave you The Hall of Appearance, 3rd Floor, Christianity.
Crusty Goldshark: Reality has a nature?
    Crusty Goldshark: gosh . . .
Adams Dubrovna: If you go gen, click on the display with the SL building
genesis Zhangsun: It is funny Adams but the pic is of Pema's house I think in Rieul?
Soul Jupiter: thank you but maybe another time!! nice to meet u guys!
Adams Dubrovna: I sent a pic?
genesis Zhangsun: see you later Soul
genesis Zhangsun: ah yes in the landmark
Adams Dubrovna: egads. I never looked.
genesis Zhangsun: I think you may have landmarked Pema's house
Adams Dubrovna: I'll have to talk to Storm
Adams Dubrovna: No I don;t thnk so
Adams Dubrovna: I have been using it
genesis Zhangsun: ok I guess just the picture then
    genesis Zhangsun: well ty Adams
Adams Dubrovna: Yes but these are the kind of glictches we need to work out :)
genesis Zhangsun: lets meet sometime soon and talk about what you envision
    Adams Dubrovna: OK :)
Adams Dubrovna: That is a good idea
Adams Dubrovna: Lots of nature around when goes outside Crusty :)
genesis Zhangsun: how would you sum up PaB Crusty?
    Crusty Goldshark: ;)
Crusty Goldshark: sitting around a fountain chatting
Adams Dubrovna: can't argue with that one
genesis Zhangsun: that really doesn't sound nearly as exciting though I have to say
genesis Zhangsun: but I'll try it out next time
    Adams Dubrovna: hehe
Crusty Goldshark: I find sitting around fountains exciting . . .
Adams Dubrovna: especially with the big crowds provided by Crusty and I
    Adams Dubrovna: me
    Crusty Goldshark: :)
genesis Zhangsun: thats right I keep forgetting the two of you are partying over there with full houses
Crusty Goldshark: I have been doing zazen with the aid of the wii console and have been trying to reform the main character in Grand Theft auto on the Xbox . . .
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
Crusty Goldshark: Basically I have taught him to stop stealing and go running and swimming instead . . .
Adams Dubrovna: Does Grand theft Auto have a fountain?
Adams Dubrovna: ah, I gues so
Crusty Goldshark: It does have a sea river and forest - will look out for a fountain
Adams Dubrovna: Did you read about the six year old who tried to drive to school who learned to drive on Grand Theft Auto?
    genesis Zhangsun: no!!
genesis Zhangsun: did he make it there?
Crusty Goldshark: He was probably a very careful driver :)
Adams Dubrovna: He was doing over 60 miles an hour when he crashed into a pole
Adams Dubrovna: He had driven 10 miles and was a little more than a mile away from the school
Adams Dubrovna: Fortunately no one was hurt
Crusty Goldshark: Ah he obviously was playing GTA in 'gangsta' mode - I am playing it in Buddha mode
Adams Dubrovna: He was passing a car when a tractor trailer appeared coming in the other direction
Adams Dubrovna: He swerved too hard and lost control
genesis Zhangsun: pretty amazing though that he made it that far
Adams Dubrovna: He had missed the school bus and didn;t want to miss breakfast at school
    genesis Zhangsun: Hey Fefonz
genesis Zhangsun: very practical of him
Adams Dubrovna: when the police came and got him out of the car, he tried to go the rest of the way on foot
    Fefonz Quan: Hello all :)
    Adams Dubrovna: Hey fefonz
    genesis Zhangsun: and dedicated too
Crusty Goldshark: It is very easy to lose context - I came off the console - saw someone reversing a car and wondered if they were about to run over a pedesterian - had to readjust - kids can not yet do that . . .
genesis Zhangsun: we'll be hearing more about that kid I am sure :)
Adams Dubrovna: His parents are in deep trouble
    Crusty Goldshark: hi fefonz
Crusty Goldshark: The game is not for children - no way
Crusty Goldshark: not even sure it is OK for adults
Crusty Goldshark: The yoga I am doing on the Wiifit is much more sedate . . .
Crusty Goldshark: Can I do yoga or keep fit in RL - and do the moves in RL?
    Adams Dubrovna: yes
Crusty Goldshark: Sorry I mean in SL and copy into RL
    Adams Dubrovna: haha
Crusty Goldshark: OK - will try that
    Fefonz Quan: :)
Fefonz Quan: almost like the time they claimed that if som automatic machine moves your muscles
Fefonz Quan: without you putting any effort, it still strengthen them :)
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
    genesis Zhangsun: :)
Fefonz Quan: all we need to take care of is combine the two and make sure our avatars practice while we are AFK :)
Adams Dubrovna: Some of us need a chair to eject us from our chairs :)
    Adams Dubrovna: machine to eject
Crusty Goldshark: No I was thinking of attending classes but doing the moves in RL - otherwise I will just download sequences from youtube - which works OK
Crusty Goldshark: thanks for HHindu link adamas ;)
Adams Dubrovna: YW, don;t know how much they teach
Crusty Goldshark: Well we shall find out - or I shall -anyone time for me to have my hourly injection (to keep me insane) BFN
    Crusty Goldshark: :)
    Crusty Goldshark: anyone = anytway
    Crusty Goldshark: nearly
Adams Dubrovna: bye then Crusty. good to se4e you :)
Crusty Goldshark: must have brain implant
    Crusty Goldshark: bye
Adams Dubrovna: That will drop our attendance down almost by half
    Fefonz Quan: bye crusty
    genesis Zhangsun: oops gone
    genesis Zhangsun: by crusty
    genesis Zhangsun: brb
Fefonz Quan: i will need to go too soon, RL calls, yet it'snice to come here and realax even for a short while :)
Adams Dubrovna: It always is good to see you Fefonz :)
Fefonz Quan: thanks, you to Adams :)
Fefonz Quan: send my regards to Gen when she returns?
    genesis Zhangsun: bye Fefonz
Adams Dubrovna: yes, I will. bye for now :)
genesis Zhangsun: I am coming out to Princeton in three weeks
Fefonz Quan: Ah, Hi and good bye :)
genesis Zhangsun: so perhaps I will see you then
    genesis Zhangsun: or sooner here
Fefonz Quan: Oh great, i'm flying there tommorow and have to pack now
    genesis Zhangsun: of course :)
genesis Zhangsun: well have a nice trip :)
Adams Dubrovna: Great. It won;t be so lonely in NJ
