Tarmel Udimo was the guardian on duty. The comments are hers. We basically spoke about the day and and all the events that happened. Not much PaB but a lot of good feelings

    Riddle Sideways: good evening
    Tarmel Udimo: hi riddle
    Tarmel Udimo: enjoying the inauguration?
    Riddle Sideways: very much
Tarmel Udimo: yes amazing moment in history
Tarmel Udimo: hi pila, just talking about the inauguration
Pila Mulligan: hi Tarmel -- I'm trying to get to a seat :)
    Pila Mulligan: there ... :)
    Tarmel Udimo: time lag
Tarmel Udimo: you were sitting already
    Pila Mulligan: how are you?
Riddle Sideways: back, this is why I don't come in at7pm
    Riddle Sideways: too many interruptions
Pila Mulligan: that last line I typed about a minute ago :)
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: argh..how frustrating, Pila.
Tarmel Udimo: great a bit blearey eyes watching the coverage as it was through the night for me
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I'm sorry I was late, Riddle.
Tarmel Udimo: hey corvi didn't see you come in
    Riddle Sideways: were you?
Tarmel Udimo: yes just had to watch the speech and the swearing in
Pila Mulligan: hi Corvi, Riddle and Tarmel
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hi all.
    Riddle Sideways: yes, had to
Riddle Sideways: great speech about the bad greedy people
    Pila Mulligan: hi Claire
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hi, Claire! Ladycat!
Riddle Sideways: so wall street went way down today
    Pila Mulligan: and Ladykat
    Claire Beltran waves shyly.
Tarmel Udimo: hi calire and ladykat
    Tarmel Udimo: claire sorry
Tarmel Udimo: yes it was very pointed doubt if you know who got it though...
Pila Mulligan: sounds like you saw more of the day's events than I did Tarmel
Ladykat Tigerpaw: Hi, I can't stay, Sorry. Just logged on the send an IM message
Ladykat Tigerpaw: See you all another time.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: bye!
Riddle Sideways: I have not felt proud of being an american
    Riddle Sideways: bye
Riddle Sideways: in a long time
    Pila Mulligan: bye Ladykat
Riddle Sideways: I really came in to see if the master recorder sent me this mornings chatlog
Riddle Sideways: still don't know how that works
Corvuscorva Nightfire: oh...I don't think it sends it to you..if you want it..Wol or Fael can retrieve it.
Riddle Sideways: wol hand delivered last weeks
Riddle Sideways: I have my copy
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods..I think right now those two are the only ones who can.
Riddle Sideways: but, I ran out while 2 people were still chatting
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods. sometimes people send the logs to each other...
Riddle Sideways: Claire will you come sit with us
Corvuscorva Nightfire: if I'm here after, I do that.
    Riddle Sideways: so do I
    Corvuscorva Nightfire nods.
Riddle Sideways: there was a really great line in the speech today
    Tarmel Udimo: yes?
Riddle Sideways: about you can't shake hands until you each unclinch your fists, or something like that
Tarmel Udimo: yes it was dynamic all the metaphours he used
Pila Mulligan: it's nice when a leader is literate :)
Tarmel Udimo: god yes and can actually articulate a point
    Pila Mulligan: hi Setve
    Tarmel Udimo: hi steve
Riddle Sideways: we are no less productive, but have had our moral dashed
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods..and smart eneough to hire good help.
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi everyone
Riddle Sideways: yes yes yes it is good to have an ariculate president
Tarmel Udimo: fear based societies eventaully wither and fade unless change takes place
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hi, Steve!
    Riddle Sideways: hi stevenaia
Riddle Sideways: and the poem that was read afterward
Corvuscorva Nightfire does enjoy a good message...writing is good but story seems more important.
Riddle Sideways: wish I had a copy to paste here
Tarmel Udimo: yes i wasn't sure if it should have been before the speech or not?
Pila Mulligan: i really enjoyed the musical quartet at the start, too
Riddle Sideways: we use to get mad at people for pasting text into chat
    Tarmel Udimo: yes?
Riddle Sideways: ooooooo yes, yoyo and izak
Tarmel Udimo: yes the music was beautiful
Claire Beltran: I didn't really get to see any of this... too busy worrying about an appointment I kept this evening.
Pila Mulligan: and the song they played, a Shaker song -- 'tis a gift to be simple'
Corvuscorva Nightfire: That's one of my very favorite songs...with any of the words attached to it that get attached to it.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: The music...
Tarmel Udimo: is that what it was - beautiful
Riddle Sideways: was not a very simple way to be simple
Corvuscorva Nightfire: simple is rarely easy.
Riddle Sideways: study 40 years... then play is like it was simple
Pila Mulligan: I had a bust day, too Claire, but the swearing in was at 7:00 am here, so I got to see the first part
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: ah..nice...
Riddle Sideways: and a good Hawain boy too
    Pila Mulligan: busy*
Pila Mulligan: :) he befuddled some reporteres with the shaka sign, I heard
    Tarmel Udimo: obama?
Pila Mulligan: yes -- waving the hand with the thumb and pinkie finger extended -- it means everything is already, shaka
    Riddle Sideways: alright
Pila Mulligan: some reporters thought he was singlling  some one to call on his cellphone :)
Pila Mulligan: yes, allright -- thanks Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways: at the end of coverage as I was just about under control...
Riddle Sideways: they panned through the audience
Riddle Sideways: there was a sign: "We Have Overcome"
    Pila Mulligan: :) tears flow
    Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: so many years of singing that
    Pila Mulligan: yep
Riddle Sideways: to think of the possibily that we mighta overcome now
Pila Mulligan: I met Martin Luther King in the summer of 1967, at that time today would have been only a dream
Pila Mulligan: I've cried a lot too, during these days
Riddle Sideways: yes, only a dream
Tarmel Udimo: yes there have been many many crying moments, all bitter sweet filled with saddness and joy
Pila Mulligan: teared really, with a smile, not crying
    Pila Mulligan: not sad
Riddle Sideways: friends that have not seen this day
Tarmel Udimo:  feelings of compassion for those that came before and aren't here to see it all unfold
Pila Mulligan: it was funny how the oath of office got jumbled up
    Riddle Sideways: a light moment
Pila Mulligan: yes, and those two are really opposite poles of ideology, Obama and Roberts
Tarmel Udimo: I wasn't sure if it was obama or the other guy?
    Pila Mulligan: it was Roberts
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: Roberts.
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    Riddle Sideways: really?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: mmhmm. according to NPR>
Pila Mulligan: he had 'faithfully' at the end instead of at the start
    Tarmel Udimo: NPR?
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: National Public Radio.
Riddle Sideways: sorry, folks need to go
Tarmel Udimo: nice to have you here Riddle
Riddle Sideways: thanks for the nice day
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Bye Riddle. Congratulations on our new President.
    Pila Mulligan: bye Riddle
    Tarmel Udimo: yes!
Pila Mulligan: now just for the historical record, Hawaii had its coldest morning today in more than 50 years, for whatever it is worth
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: wow.
Pila Mulligan: maybe it is astrologically related to the inaguration :)
    Tarmel Udimo: how cold?
Pila Mulligan: 54 F at sea level
Pila Mulligan: not sure what that is in C
Pila Mulligan: it was 45 F up here on the mountain -- 38 F at a town further up
Pila Mulligan: now these do not sound like cold to you, I suspect :)
Pila Mulligan: but they are cold here
    Tarmel Udimo: yep its cold
Corvuscorva Nightfire shakes her head and points to 29 and snowy..which passes for cold in the southeast..
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    Pila Mulligan: brr
    Corvuscorva Nightfire grins.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: others might find that warm.
Tarmel Udimo: sorry to rub it in but its - 35 degrees here y - 102 F
Pila Mulligan: Corvi, that Shaker song was made famous by Aaron Copeland's use of it
Pila Mulligan: that is still quite hot Tarmel
Pila Mulligan: Appalachian Spring, I think it was, that Copeland did
Tarmel Udimo: Aaron Copeland that's what i thought - yes used in a martha Graham dance work very famous
Pila Mulligan: it is a beautiful melody
    Corvuscorva Nightfire thinks about that...
Tarmel Udimo: hummmm its what I associate with americana
Pila Mulligan: :) the better part :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I love the melody...I knew it first as a shaker song..then the methodists taught me new words to it.
Pila Mulligan: what were the new words?
Claire Beltran smiles and stretches. "I think I must be going now..."
Corvuscorva Nightfire: mm..let me think..that was 20 years ago.
Pila Mulligan: Shaker: tis a gift to be simple, tis a gift to be free, tis a gift to come down where you want to be ...
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: bye, Claire.
    Pila Mulligan: bye Claire
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: Dance then...
Tarmel Udimo: bye claire - good to see you again
    Claire Beltran: ^-^/ you, too!
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Dance then, wherever you may be, for I am the lord of the dance said he..
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Tarmel Udimo: so does this mean you were a shaker corvi?
Pila Mulligan: the Shakers had one of the most successful communities in American history, but they ran into a duration obstacle -- they were celibate :)
Pila Mulligan: they'd  not make little shakers
Pila Mulligan: but they made excellent furniture
Corvuscorva Nightfire laughs. no...a catholic for the first 15 years.
Pila Mulligan: ahh, one side of the spectrum to the other:)
Tarmel Udimo: yes and then a methodist?
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: no..a camp counselor.
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    Tarmel Udimo: ahh
Pila Mulligan: did either of you attend Maxine's session today -- I was very sorry to miss it
Tarmel Udimo: no I was watching TV and also busy working
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: no..I was working.
Pila Mulligan: I look forward to seeing the log
Pila Mulligan: she seems to have a good handle on dreaming
Tarmel Udimo: yes it would be good to do a workshop with her
Tarmel Udimo: except these days i don't seem to dream very much ;-)
    Pila Mulligan: too busy?
    Tarmel Udimo: is that why?
    Pila Mulligan: could be :)
Tarmel Udimo: perhaps I am feeling quite clear at the moment...
Tarmel Udimo: thanks to PaB :-)
    Pila Mulligan: nice
Tarmel Udimo: yes so apart from being flat broke not much anxiety
Pila Mulligan: ahh, the #1 worryT
armel Udimo: yes except for some reason I can't quite seem to worry too much, keep thinking/hoping the universe will provide
    Pila Mulligan: it will
Pila Mulligan: but you have to do your part, of course, as I am sure you are doing :)
Tarmel Udimo: well working hard for lots of rewards but not monetary at the moment
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Tarmel Udimo: gotta change my slogan yes I can :-)
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    Corvuscorva Nightfire nods to Tarmel.
Pila Mulligan: I had not expected to spend all my savings on the house building project, but I did, so now I am on a monthly social security survivial basis
    Pila Mulligan: it is fine
Tarmel Udimo: yes and in return you are building a beautiful home
Pila Mulligan: yes, that is the best part
Pila Mulligan: well, I need to go clean some floor for the carpet guy's job tomorrow morning
Pila Mulligan: nice to visit here with you both
Tarmel Udimo: yes I have to go too, nice visting you both, not much PaB chat but today's bigger than that
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: g'night you two.
Tarmel Udimo: bye corvi and pila
