Adams Rubble was the guardian and proivided the comments

I was first to arrive and was soon joined by Doug. Our greeting provided the topic, weather, around which all the conversation seemed to flow as we discussed numerous concerns in relation to the weather

    Adams Rubble: Hello Doug :)
    doug Sosa: morning!
Adams Rubble: It is a bright sunny morning here in RL :)
doug Sosa: i am still in the early dawn.you must be south of me.
    Adams Rubble: east
    doug Sosa: ah.
doug Sosa: also clouds, but mostly he sun has not yet appared.
Adams Rubble: It is still arriving very late :)

Calubious was next to arrive, followed closely by Geo

doug Sosa: but the bounce back has begun.the sun bounced off the lowest level of winer night.
Adams Rubble: yes, we are about 15 days in :)
    Adams Rubble: Hello Geo
    Adams Rubble: Hello Calubious
    doug Sosa: new person?
    Calubious Panacek: hello
    doug Sosa: hi.
Adams Rubble: Have you been here before Calubious?
    Geo Netizen: Hi everyone
    doug Sosa: where?
    Calubious Panacek: yes once

Then inspired by recent disucssions and appearances on Calubrious' dress, I make a terrible faux pax

Adams Rubble: They are very nice spoons :)
    Adams Rubble: whoa. sorry
Adams Rubble: We have had much discussion about spoons and from a distance the designs on your dress looked like spoons. Mea culpa!
Adams Rubble: Nice to meet you Calubious
Geo Netizen: Hmmm ...spoon obsessions :)
    Adams Rubble blushes
Adams Rubble: We were discussing the sunlight slowly increasing again
Adams Rubble: It is a beautiful sunny morning here in RL
Calubious Panacek: nice to meet you too
Calubious Panacek: for me the sun isnt up yet
    Calubious Panacek: looks overcast
doug Sosa: same here, north of san fancisco.
Calubious Panacek: thats so cal in the winter ..
Adams Rubble: We have had days of overcast too here on east coast
Geo Netizen: Tis very bright, sunny and -30 C here
    Adams Rubble: brrrrrrrrr
Geo Netizen says as he sips on his hot coffee
doug Sosa: don't go outside barefoot. here it is just 32 and i like to go out barefoot and get firewood.
Calubious Panacek: its been raining here too
Calubious Panacek: \the sunset last night was interesting
doug Sosa: interestin to think of he place of weather in meditation.
Adams Rubble: It certainly can affect our moods
Calubious Panacek: there was some brown clouds from the sunlight, barely some last minutes of blue sky coming through and between the horizon and the clouds were black clouds looming
Adams Rubble: sounds beautiful Calubious :)
Geo Netizen: Wonder what the weather thinks of our comments on the weather?

Gaya tps to the pavilion and joins our group

    Geo Netizen: Hi Gaya
    Adams Rubble: Hello Gaya :)
    doug Sosa: good question.
Calubious Panacek: it was quite a sight yes
doug Sosa: being seen byhe weeather.
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello :)
Calubious Panacek: i don't think the weather has a thought process
Adams Rubble: We are discussing sunlight and weather Gaya
Geo Netizen: Were the black clouds a prelude to a storm?
doug Sosa: It feels aware, that i am a toy, but a man, can rise to any challenge. but can't see far over the horizon.
doug Sosa: see only what is local, but the weather is everywhere.
Calubious Panacek: they were part of one that had been passing through for pretty much the whole day
Adams Rubble: It does matter how we think the weather thinks about us:)
Geo Netizen: Just in case you want to know what we are talking about Calubious, with spoons, weather feeling, etc here's a url
    Geo Netizen: http://groups.google.com/group/kira-...workshop?hl=en
    Adams Rubble: Thanks Geo :)
    Calubious Panacek: ty
Gaya Ethaniel: [Some wonderful photos on your blog Adams]
Adams Rubble: We have been trying to imagine ourselves as objects as if the spoon is looking at us
    Calubious Panacek: interesting
    Adams Rubble: Thanks Gaya
Adams Rubble: I met a fork yesterday which is what Gaya is referring to :)
    Gaya Ethaniel smiles
Adams Rubble: I was in the right mood to feel "looked at" rather than imagine the fork looking
Calubious Panacek: the way I picture weather in my mind is more like the contents of the spoon
Geo Netizen: Done as a thought experiment, makes for some very interesting reading :)
doug Sosa: the spoon reflects the larger world in a smaller image.
Calubious Panacek: really weather is more of an idea than an object
Adams Rubble shakes the snow out the hair and wonders
Geo Netizen: We do personify different aspect of weather
    Calubious Panacek: or product of
    Adams Rubble: yes geo
Geo Netizen: Thor, Jack Frost ...
    Adams Rubble: Ole Man Winter

Solobill is next to appear, quickly followed by Udge

    Adams Rubble: Hello Bill :)
    Geo Netizen nods
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Solo :)
    Geo Netizen: Hi Solo
    Solobill Laville: Hi, all :)
Calubious Panacek: please excuse me must go afk a min
Adams Rubble: The effects of weather create so much poetry and is a source for numerous metaphors about us
    Geo Netizen: Hi Udge
    Calubious Panacek: /afk

Suddenly a big bright thought bubble with the letters "afk" appear over Calubrious' head

    Adams Rubble: Hello Udge :)
    Udge Watanabe: good morning all
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Udge :)
    Solobill Laville: Mornin', Udge
Geo Netizen: I love the afk bling
Adams Rubble admires Calubrious' afk sign
Geo Netizen: Have to ask where she got it when she gets back
    Gaya Ethaniel smiles
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: The conversation seems to have gone behind the clouds
Udge Watanabe: I have that effect, sorry :(
    doug Sosa: no way.
Adams Rubble: Oh Udge! We are talking about weather, not you
doug Sosa: meditation and the weather.gets at the isue of the unseen seen.
Udge Watanabe chuckles. 'Twas but a joke.
doug Sosa: we see the manifestations, but look for a systems cause.
    Geo Netizen chuckles
Adams Rubble: yes Udge, me 2
Geo Netizen: And we tend to be the center of causes we imagine
    Adams Rubble: Yes Doug
Adams Rubble: But sunshine can lift our spirits
doug Sosa: so, interesting how much a meditation inerlude is afected by - the weather!
    Adams Rubble agrees
Solobill Laville: the sound of rain can be quite a nice addition to meditation...
    Geo Netizen nods
Adams Rubble thinks so many different sounds of rain
    Adams Rubble: the gentle tapping...
Geo Netizen: Some people even use artificially produced sounds of rain
doug Sosa: reminds me the other night, rain, and i heard the water overflowing the gutters.
    Adams Rubble: the thunderous deluge...
    Adams Rubble: yes Doug
Geo Netizen: Isn't an intense storm exciting?
    Udge Watanabe: definitely
Adams Rubble: yes, a little scary if you own a house
Geo Netizen: And then there's SAD
doug Sosa: very. I used to live on an island and when the storms came the strong swimmers would go down to play in the excited surf.
    doug Sosa: SAD?
    Geo Netizen: Seasonal affective disorder
    Adams Rubble: ah
Geo Netizen: aka winter depression or winter blues
    Adams Rubble: cabin fever
    Geo Netizen nods
Solobill Laville apologizes for the short visit, but is off the kitchen to join his family for breakfast.. :)
Adams Rubble: Enjoy Bill :). Good to see you
Udge Watanabe: good! I approve of breakfast :)
    Geo Netizen nods towards Solo
    Udge Watanabe: take care, solo.
    Gaya Ethaniel: Good day Solo
    doug Sosa: bye.
    Geo Netizen: Enjoy the day

    Solobill shows himself out

Adams Rubble wonders what Udge is thinking of Bill leaving
    Adams Rubble: :)
Udge Watanabe: well, I approve less of that of course. But I recognize that RL has its (limited) appeal too
    Adams Rubble: :)
Udge Watanabe: "nice place to visit but you wouldn't want to live there"
    Adams Rubble: hehe
    Geo Netizen chuckles
    Adams Rubble: Not enough weather
Udge Watanabe: and the TP is always broken
Geo Netizen: I really miss the Tp
doug Sosa: imagine if there were a real place like this one.
    Adams Rubble: tp broken?
Geo Netizen: TP broken in RL :)
    doug Sosa: what is TP?
Adams Rubble: oh yes. how primitive it is in RL
    Geo Netizen: Teleport
    doug Sosa: oh.
Geo Netizen: WB Calubious ….. we've all been waiting to ask where you got the AFK sign
    Geo Netizen: Love it
    Calubious Panacek: thank you
    Adams Rubble: wb Calubious
    Calubious Panacek: =)
    Adams Rubble: yes
    Gaya Ethaniel: wb :)
Calubious Panacek: its a multi Tp hud that i found
Calubious Panacek: i have a note if you would like one
    Geo Netizen: Please
Adams Rubble: yes I would :)
Calubious Panacek: says what it does , it really is a great piece of scripting^^
Geo Netizen: Might as drop the note on each of us :)))
    Geo Netizen: *as well
    Udge Watanabe: yes please :)
Calubious Panacek gave you emDash Manual.
    Adams Rubble: Thank you :)
    Geo Netizen: Thanks Calubious
    Gaya Ethaniel: Thank you :)
    Udge Watanabe: ty calubrious
    Calubious Panacek: np
Adams Rubble: It makes RL look even more primitive :)
Calubious Panacek: for me it has made SL quite a bit smaller
    Geo Netizen chuckles
    Adams Rubble wants to dash
Calubious Panacek: gravity weighs in as a big time factor in that
Udge Watanabe: that sounds very useful, C.
Calubious Panacek: in here the physics are esily broken
    Gaya Ethaniel nods
    Calubious Panacek: easily*
    Geo Netizen: or fixed
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Calubious Panacek: good point
Adams Rubble thinks of missing high school physics
doug Sosa: seems like lots of power.
Calubious Panacek: takes time to get used to the hud yeah theres so much in it
Udge Watanabe needs more tea, brb
Geo Netizen ponders physics by committee
    doug Sosa: fun.
doug Sosa: hey, we forgot the gavity.
    doug Sosa: gravity
Geo Netizen: The gravity of gravity isn't so grave
Calubious Panacek: what about weather in SL
Calubious Panacek: we have to make it ourselves
Geo Netizen: Snow coming down and cherry blossoms on the trees is not a problem
Adams Rubble: do it yourself weather
    Adams Rubble: :)
Calubious Panacek: what about that is beautiful?
    Adams Rubble: not being cold
    Adams Rubble: :)
doug Sosa: very interesting. like the purple blosoms reflected on the stones around us.
Geo Netizen: And as raster graphics and vector graphics improve it..
    doug Sosa: breakfast calls... bye.
Calubious Panacek: will become much more believable
    Adams Rubble: bye Doug :)

    Doug departs

    Udge Watanabe: bye doug, enjoy
Calubious Panacek: for those aware of what the real world looks like
    Calubious Panacek: ^^
Geo Netizen: There has already been rapid improvement even though we all complain about lag
Calubious Panacek: imagine only knowing this
Geo Netizen: In a way we only know RL .... similiar :)
Udge Watanabe: well, calu, htere are a half-dozen questions implied in "knowning what the real world looks like"
    Geo Netizen smiles
Calubious Panacek: this is an extension of it
Geo Netizen: SL is embedded in RL .....
Udge Watanabe: someone like Pema or Stim could give a half-hour lecture on the ambiguity of each of those concepts :)
Geo Netizen: What is RL embedded in?
    Udge Watanabe: Being!
    Geo Netizen nods
Calubious Panacek: of course but by default i am referring to the physical world this one is largely modelled after
Adams Rubble: It is not so much the graphics as the lack of tactile feeling
Adams Rubble: no pain to the cold...
Adams Rubble: no effects of lack of sleep
Calubious Panacek: it will all end up integrating eventually
Geo Netizen: The input is mainly visual except for the fumbling fingers
    Adams Rubble: :)
Calubious Panacek: by technology we will be able to simulate those inputs
Adams Rubble: and output Geo :)
Geo Netizen: Wonders about no effect of lack of sleep

    Neela arrives

Geo Netizen: His av might disagree
    Adams Rubble: Hello Neela :)
    Geo Netizen: Hi Nella
    Adams Rubble: Neela
    Geo Netizen: *Neela
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Neela :)
Adams Rubble: That's funny I corrected Geo. Thought it was me :)
Calubious Panacek: ideally there is a concious mind behind each avatar
Calubious Panacek: key word ideally ^^
    Adams Rubble likes "ideally"
Geo Netizen: Not always the case :)
Neela Blaisdale: Hello everyone, good to be back and see you all, sorry to be so late but a little disoriented
Geo Netizen: Sometimes poor Geo is on his own
Calubious Panacek: i have a funny snapshot i wanna pass around lol

Calubrious' snapshot shows rows and rows of the same female avatar. It is reminiscent of the terracotta army found in Qin Shihuang's (the First emperor) tomb in China

    Geo Netizen: Please
Udge Watanabe: hello neela, happy new year
Adams Rubble: Always good to see you Neela :)
Adams Rubble: always good to see all of you :)
Neela Blaisdale: Happy New Year as well and nice to meet you Udge and Calub, don't think we've met before
    Calubious Panacek digs
Calubious Panacek gave you Snapshot :                              Xcc, Inismore (14, 64,.
Calubious Panacek: i find boxes of those in the air all the time..
Gaya Ethaniel: Thank you Calubious. It is indeed funny :)
    Adams Rubble: Oh my....
Calubious Panacek: makes you think about the reported login and resident numbers
Calubious Panacek: that was one of two boxes i found in one sim that day
Geo Netizen: Shades of clone wars
Gaya Ethaniel: It's very 'I, Robot' esque
Udge Watanabe: oh, a robot factory
    Adams Rubble: marching Ruths
Udge Watanabe: dear Ruth, I do miss her.
    Calubious Panacek: =)
Geo Netizen: I have been surprised by the variety of av's now
    Adams Rubble: good point Geo
Calubious Panacek: needless to say the traffic was in the tens of thousands and not a sngle person was actually shopping there
Geo Netizen: All I've met the last few months have been quite unique
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Adams Rubble thinks of Moon
    Geo Netizen smiles
Geo Netizen: I keep expecting to run into a clone of myself
Adams Rubble: It happens with newbie avs

    Soleil8 arrives

Udge Watanabe: it's really odd at the mentoring places, I see clones of people I know and want ot greet them, then notice that the name is different
Geo Netizen: But nobody else seem to want an av anything like mine :)
    Adams Rubble: Hello Soleil8
    Geo Netizen: Hi Soleil
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Soleil :)
    Neela Blaisdale: Hello Soleil
    Udge Watanabe: hello soleil
Neela Blaisdale: Nice to meet you
Calubious Panacek: ive seen a few like yours geo ^^
Soleil8 Andel: salut a tout le monde
    Soleil8's translator: salvation to everyone
Calubious Panacek: it is actually not an unpopular look for samurai theme sims
Soleil8 Andel: mes meilleurs voeux pour 2009
Soleil8's translator: my best wishes for 2009
Neela Blaisdale: I feel like I've missed meeting many new guardians!
    Geo Netizen: Ahhh
    Geo Netizen: I haven't visited them ....
Udge Watanabe: thanks soleil, and the same to you.
    Geo Netizen: 8:00 chime :)
Adams Rubble: Thank you Soleil :)

    Gaya goes

Gaya Ethaniel: Good day all :)
    Geo Netizen bows towards Soleil
Adams Rubble: best wishes to you for new year\
    Adams Rubble: bye Geo
Udge Watanabe: bye gaya, take care
Gaya Ethaniel: Nice to have met you Calubious :)
    Adams Rubble: bye gaya
    Geo Netizen: Bye Gaya
Adams Rubble not reading very carefully
Geo Netizen is glad he not the only one to suffer that
    Soleil8 Andel: belle energie ici
    Soleil8's translator: beautiful energy here
    Adams Rubble: ")
    Geo Netizen: *he's
Adams Rubble: Have you been here before Soleil?
Calubious Panacek: nice to meet you too.,
Soleil8 Andel: oui je suis déja venu
Soleil8's translator: yes I am already come
Geo Netizen: I believe I have seen you here Soleil :)
Udge Watanabe: at least once, I remember a session log with Wol some weeks back
Calubious Panacek: oh shoot im too slow
    Geo Netizen nods
Geo Netizen: Nice to see you again Soleil :))
Soleil8 Andel: je me sent bien ici parmi vous
Calubious Panacek: got caught in an IM
Adams Rubble thought so but doing duty
Adams Rubble: good to see you again Soleil
Calubious Panacek: nice to meet you Soleil
    Soleil8 Andel: moi aussi
    Soleil8's translator: me too
Udge Watanabe: it's time, I too must leave. Take care, my dears. Calu, it was nice meeting you.

    Udge Ushers himself out

    Adams Rubble: Bye Ydge
    Adams Rubble: Udge
Calubious Panacek: have a good day udge
    Geo Netizen: bye Udge
    Neela Blaisdale: Bye Udge:)
Soleil8 Andel: je passais vous souhaiter mes voeux
Soleil8's translator: I spent wishing you my best wishes
    Soleil8 Andel: je dois partir
    Soleil8's translator: I gotta go
    Adams Rubble: bye Soleil
Soleil8 Andel: je reviendrais avec plaisir
    Soleil8's translator: I would gladly
    Calubious Panacek: bye
Neela Blaisdale: Soleil, have you taken the PaB information note? It explains this group
    Soleil8 Andel: bye
    Soleil8's translator: bye
Geo Netizen: bye Soleil ... again, good to see you
    Soleil8 Andel: bye
    Soleil8's translator: bye

    and then Soleil8 scats

    Neela Blaisdale: Bye Soleil
Neela Blaisdale: Wasn't sure if he knew what PaB was
Adams Rubble: yes, he was here before :)
Geo Netizen: I did remember him getting the intro
Adams Rubble thinks it is time to slam down the gavel over the log
    Geo Netizen nods
    Adams Rubble: blaaaaaam!
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Neela Blaisdale: :)
...and then we all wish each other a good day and go off to do something else for the next five hours
