Xirana Oximoxi: not long ago we've been talking about 'balance'... and some said that it could be a passive attitude...

Bertram Jacobus: he taught a lot about that xirana - came from a rich family - left it. did extreme ascticism - stopped it. then found the path of the middle (!) ... :-)

Bertram Jacobus: yes. i hope you will find nice sources ... there are many strange ones these days also. so choose and investigate wisely (!) ... ;-)

Bertram Jacobus: very much so xirana. at least for me. i can use this idea which means nothing different then balance for every aspect in my life (!) -
Bleu Oleander: back to Storm's question though, how do you determine "balance"?

Bertram Jacobus: in contrary. but i think, these aspects - being active or inactive and finding the balance must not be so very close linked ...
Bertram Jacobus: and perhaps i could determine balance of a healthy state of being. but that may be very personal and individual ...
Xirana Oximoxi: Bleu. for me 'balance' means not to fall. to be able tostand even if sometimes things doesn't govery well

Storm Nordwind: I find balance brings poise, and poise is a result of an active approach not a passive one.
Bleu Oleander: can one trust one's own sense of when one is in balance?

Problems with perception.

Xirana Oximoxi: I've found a Physic professor in SL .. and he has given me a book ?Visual illusions?... it shows how our mind through the eye can preceive things wrongly

Training intuition.

Bleu Oleander: intuition isn't always right (or in balance) so perhaps more of a feedback loop with others and experience

Storm Nordwind: You can train your sense of intuition to be reliable Bleu. It takes dedicated experimentation with lots of mistakes. But it's possible.
Bleu Oleander: likes the "lots of mistakes" part :)

Storm Nordwind: It's the same as developing any other sense. Basically you have an experience, you interpret it, you act on that interpretation, you see if you're right, you modify your discrimination in analyzing the experience - rinse and repeat
