The Guardian for this meeting was Maxine Walden. The comments are by Maxine Walden.
When I got to the Pavilion I was alone for a few minutes, with my musings (in parentheses). But then folks came along and we seemed to gain momentum toward unseriousness. It may have had to do with our individual and group response to the 'noise of the news' (Libya). But then there develops as well planning for the upcoming PaB birthday party. And a lot of other silliness. So... Check it out.
Maxine Walden: (reflecting upon the golden PaB dandelion puff, siting quietly, invitingly just to my left shortly after I arrived. As if a private muse)
--BELL--
Maxine Walden: (and the sentinal balloons standing a few feet behind us, the puffball and I)
Maxine Walden: (Also aware how important it has felt to keep my mind as free from the 'noise of the news' re the fighting in Libya. How exciting it can be, how polarizing into 'good guys' and 'bad'; and to keep space for thought, for depth and exploration, I have had to tune out that 'noise')
Maxine Walden: (Rather grateful for the solitude right now, although my puffball, balloons and birdsong are good company)
Korel Laloix: bozho Maxine
Maxine Walden: hi,Korel, I was just musing...
Maxine Walden: how are you?
Korel Laloix smiles
Korel Laloix: Having a lovely relaxing weekend.
Korel Laloix: A lot of me time.
Korel Laloix: You?
Maxine Walden: how wonderful...yes, 'me time' can be so precious
Maxine Walden: Me too, just now, musing in 'me time'
Maxine Walden: Time for explorations, for rest, for musing and snoozing....
Korel Laloix: Having a lovely glass of wine and thinking about what I want for dinner... smiles
Korel Laloix: Made pizza yesterday...
Maxine Walden: oh, sounds luxurious...what kind of wine, and what sounds good for dinner? :)
Korel Laloix: It is an Austrialian Shiraz.
Korel Laloix: 2002
Maxine Walden: yummy. Love Australian Shiraz...
Maxine Walden: not too swift about the various vintages however.
Korel Laloix: This is just old...
Korel Laloix: Not sure how much of the good is from the age.
Maxine Walden: :)
Korel Laloix: I just like Penfolds.
Maxine Walden: I do too.
Korel Laloix: Getting lightly buzzed though.... lovely
Korel Laloix: Great for a sunday afternoon.
Maxine Walden: hmm, sunday afternoons are made for slight buzzing :)
Korel Laloix: Works for me
Maxine Walden: :)
Korel Laloix: In a steak moood though, which is not that common for me.
Maxine Walden: hmm
Korel Laloix: I am a borderline vegitarian sometimes...
Korel Laloix: ZBut every once in a while I get a craving.
Maxine Walden: hmm, steak can be scrumptious
Maxine Walden: with a baked potato?
Korel Laloix: I preffer baked sweetpotatoes.
Korel Laloix: But yes, they are great.
Maxine Walden: The combo used to be one of my favorites. tho more recently I have dipped toward vegetarian things...just easier on my body...
Maxine Walden: hi, bleu
Bleu Oleander: hi Maxine, Korel
Korel Laloix: Heya.
Maxine Walden: we are musing about slow and lovely Sunday afternoons, maybe with a glass of wine, contemplating dinner...
Korel Laloix: I dont eat a lot of it though.
Bleu Oleander: lunch time for me
Korel Laloix: Maybe like 5square inches and I am done.
Maxine Walden: and I was musing earlier about my need to shut out the 'noise' of the world (Libya) for rest and recovery
Bleu Oleander: yes
Maxine Walden: Even though the passions re Libya can be really stirred...
Bleu Oleander: agree
Korel Laloix: I am finding it strange how the world is responding to this but stil ignoring Darfur and other places.
Korel Laloix: What makes this different?
Bleu Oleander: good question
Bleu Oleander: complicated answer I'm sure
Maxine Walden: Someone said, the visibility of Gaddafi, but also likely the presence of oil
Korel Laloix: Maybe.
--BELL--
Alfred Kelberry: meep!
Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
Bleu Oleander: hey boxy
Maxine Walden: hi, alfred, with party hat!
Alfred Kelberry: sun did that :)
Korel Laloix: heya
Maxine Walden: sweet!
Maxine Walden: ah, and bleu's party hat as well
Bleu Oleander: oh like this boxy
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Korel Laloix: WHy do we have so different of standards for different places though?
Korel Laloix: Darfur is OK.
Korel Laloix: Bengazi is not.
Maxine Walden: such an important question, Korel. What thoughts?
Alfred Kelberry: no oil in darfur?
Korel Laloix: Bosnia was OK to use interfear.
Korel Laloix: But Iraq was not.
Korel Laloix: Trying to figure out a pattern.
Korel Laloix: If there is one.
Maxine Walden: I've also wondered about the abject helplessness re Japan that the world has felt...and whether that also tips some ways about 'acting' in Libya.
Maxine Walden: Not sure...but so many complexities...
Korel Laloix: Or more personally, I grew up in a rather violent house.
Maxine Walden: hmm, yes, Korel. Important considerations
Korel Laloix: And I had a few people tell me that they wish they could have stopped it but did not feel it was their place.
Bleu Oleander: hi Sun
Sunshine Vayandar: hi all ;)
Korel Laloix: I used to really resent those sorts of statement, but am trying to figure them out now.
Korel Laloix: Heya.
Maxine Walden: hi, Sun
Bleu Oleander: hey Lugh
Sunshine Vayandar: hi Maxine, Korel, Bleu, and meepy ;)
Korel Laloix: So why, is popular opinion so different on similar subjects?
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Sunshine Vayandar: hi Lugh ;)
Lugh Fehr: hellow :) hey sun
Korel Laloix: Just in case you did not get that yestereday.... grins
Alfred Kelberry: :)

Korel Laloix: You paid me to do that.
Maxine Walden: thanks Korel. Ah, I see.
Alfred Kelberry: :P
Korel Laloix grins
Sunshine Vayandar: ;P
Maxine Walden: A little violence of our own? :))
Korel Laloix: I do try to add a certain amount of class to these sesions.
Korel Laloix: It is a matter of amount.
Maxine Walden: Can I have a party hat too?
Alfred Kelberry: maxine, affection :)
Alfred Kelberry: i feel a bit like in vietnam :)
Sunshine Vayandar: ;)) it has an Asian feel ;)
Alfred Kelberry: hehe

Sunshine Vayandar: it's a test model
Maxine Walden: and thanks, Sun
Sunshine Vayandar: hehe Lugh
Lugh Fehr: tnx :P
Maxine Walden: hi, Lugh
Lugh Fehr: hey maxine :)
Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Korel Laloix: I will be the designated nonconformist.
Bleu Oleander: starting to like my hat too much :)
Lugh Fehr: no soup for you! come back 1 year !
Korel Laloix: Well, me and Bleu... grins
Sunshine Vayandar: hehe Bleu
Bleu Oleander: not wanting to encourage my ego :)
Maxine Walden: oh, Korel, would you like a hat too?
Korel Laloix: OK.. done with that glass.. should I have another?
Korel Laloix: I have one.
Maxine Walden: It is Sunday afternoon, Korel.
Korel Laloix: Just don't want to give into the peer pressure.
Korel Laloix: Yes, but I weight 88lbs.... lol
Korel Laloix: Two glasses gets me a little on the falling over side.
Bleu Oleander: lunch is calling me .... take care all
Korel Laloix: Ok.. you talked me into it... smiles
Lugh Fehr: byebye
Maxine Walden: bye, bleu
Korel Laloix: Ciao bella.
Lugh Fehr: blue
Alfred Kelberry: petit :)
Sunshine Vayandar: byeee Bleu ;)
Korel Laloix: And then there was only one.
Maxine Walden: OK, what about our PaB focus....(feel like a bit of policeman)...but easy for us to just party
--BELL--
Lugh Fehr: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zD1WveH3xI
Sunshine Vayandar: Sorry for interrupting with party things ;)
Sunshine Vayandar: hat is gone ;)
Maxine Walden: Not at all, I was also inciting by asking for hat and all
Korel Laloix: I found a box AV.
Korel Laloix: Should I put it on?
Lugh Fehr: im not taking mine off!
Maxine Walden: :))
Maxine Walden: sure Kirel
Sunshine Vayandar: hehe Lugh
Maxine Walden: Korel
Korel Laloix: I found some nice hats on the online market thing.
Korel Laloix: Kirel works.. grins
Korel Laloix: I have a flaming sombrero in my old AV inventory.
Sunshine Vayandar: I have seen that ;)
Korel Laloix: brb as old me...
Sunshine Vayandar: someone else had it on
Maxine Walden: Feels like the party may just continue....maybe this is our PaB 'thing' this hour
Sunshine Vayandar: ;)) well we have been working on the egobox with Boxy
Sunshine Vayandar: and it is quite fun ...
Sunshine Vayandar: we will make it a prim workshop project also
Sunshine Vayandar: and see how everyone can change it into something new
Maxine Walden: yes, have not caught up with that...would be interesting to hear about
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello everyone :)
Maxine Walden: hi, Gaya, nice to see you!
Sunshine Vayandar: we just started out with the prim workshop

Lugh Fehr: very sexy
Sunshine Vayandar: ;p
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Freud :)
Maxine Walden: yes, a box with something mysterious inside? Could not quite see it...oh, now I do see it
Freud had a large box with a very large Sumo type wrestler squeezed inside.
Freud Jungsten: The guy has a bigger chest than I do... smiles
Alfred Kelberry: haha
Alfred Kelberry: freud :)
Alfred Kelberry: mmm...
Freud Jungsten: You have box envy Alfred... admit it.
Freud Jungsten grins
Sunshine Vayandar: hehe

Alfred Kelberry: oh, hi cute bunny gaya :)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Freud Jungsten: This is how small carbooard boxes are made.
Lugh Fehr: :)
Freud Jungsten grins
Sunshine Vayandar: this session is getting more and more unserious
Alfred Kelberry: :P
Gaya Ethaniel: heheh
Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Maxine Walden: seriously unserious...
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Sunshine Vayandar: yes
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Lugh Fehr: boxy seems to have liked it indised

--BELL--
Gaya Ethaniel put something stuff on her head ... :)
Gaya Ethaniel: I thought something about 'play' today ...
Sunshine Vayandar: ah very nice ;))
Gaya Ethaniel: ty :)
Lugh Fehr is all ears
Sunshine Vayandar: so many flowers ;)
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: I think playful doesn't have to mean serious or unserious ...
Maxine Walden: lovely
Maxine Walden: hi, oOo
Sunshine Vayandar: hi Sam ;)
Gaya Ethaniel: You know how light dances on water ... play of light.
Sunshine Vayandar: true Gaya
Gaya Ethaniel: It's just wonderful ...
Lugh Fehr: heyi oooo
Sunshine Vayandar: play of light ;)
Gaya Ethaniel: Anyway that's one of things I saw today :)
oO0Oo Resident: hi everyone.. sorry I'm late Nice to see you all
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Sam :)
Lugh Fehr: nice gaya!
Sunshine Vayandar: hi Freud ;)
Freud Jungsten: Back and less square.
Maxine Walden: nice to see you O
Maxine Walden: :), to Freud
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Wol :)
Wol Euler: évening all
Sunshine Vayandar: hi Wol ;)
Freud Jungsten: osiyo
Alfred Kelberry: woly girl! :)
Maxine Walden: I think the chatlog for this session will have the headline: 'Seriously unserious' just seems so...
Maxine Walden: hi. wol
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Sunshine Vayandar: ;) sounds like a fitting title
Gaya Ethaniel: btw Wol when did you come to PaB? I forgot.
oO0Oo Resident: Hi Wol :)
Maxine Walden: seems to fit the feel of our time right now...
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Lugh Fehr: hey wol :)
Wol Euler: hmmm, bleu asked me the ohter day. I'm not sure. late summer of its first year
Gaya Ethaniel: Did you come after me or ... can't remember. I came in June.
Alfred Kelberry: ok, script stat is ready :)
Sunshine Vayandar: ready ?
Alfred Kelberry: woly gets a cookie :)
Gaya Ethaniel: lol my kanzashi ...
Freud Jungsten: I want a cookie.
Wol Euler: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Run again pls?
Alfred Kelberry: sam! amazing 0 scripts! :)
Alfred Kelberry: you're the most environmentally friendly av, sam!
Wol Euler: run it again, sun :)
Gaya Ethaniel: hm ... that's slow ... should read lower now that I took kanzashi off.
Sunshine Vayandar: hm?
Sunshine Vayandar: ops ;)
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: heh
Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Maxine Walden: I feel I am the only one who does not understand what these total scripts running convey, something about each of us?
Gaya Ethaniel: lol egohat didn't notice!
Alfred Kelberry: i have a question: should the egohat only praise its owner?!
oO0Oo Resident: brb
Alfred Kelberry: woly! 10! :)
Wol Euler: yeah, I took off my hair :)
Alfred Kelberry: did you take something off? :)
Alfred Kelberry: oh...
Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Alfred Kelberry: wow, who would have thought they cost so much
Lugh Fehr: it would fulfill the ego better
Wol Euler: basically, maxine, it counts the scripts running in the attachments you are wearing (typically resizing in shoes/hair, or weapons)
Wol Euler: it's a very rough indicator of how much you *could* contribute to lag in the region
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
oO0Oo Resident: back
Alfred Kelberry: ah, sorry, lost your question, maxine
Maxine Walden: ah, thanks Wol, very helpful
Alfred Kelberry: thank you, woly
Sunshine Vayandar: wb ;)
Maxine Walden: np, alf.
Wol Euler: but the amount of lag you *do* contribute depends what the script is actually doing
Lugh Fehr: any way im off to do some chores befor bed :P gn people ...poof
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Good night :)
Sunshine Vayandar: nitenitee Lugh
Wol Euler: bye lugh, take care
Freud Jungsten: ciao blla
Maxine Walden: bye Lugh
Alfred Kelberry: ok, i'll ask again :)
Alfred Kelberry: should the egohat only praise its owner?!
Sunshine Vayandar: I think it's good to have both versions
Alfred Kelberry: ah, you mean make 2 version of teh hat, sun?
Sunshine Vayandar: yes - or more ;)
Alfred Kelberry: ok
Sunshine Vayandar: depending on who is praised
Wol Euler: one script with two states, perhaps, let the hatowner decide who gets praised
Alfred Kelberry: can you then apply a different texture?
Maxine Walden: OK, everyone, I have to go, I expect the chatlog will continue on its 'seriously unserious' path :)) !
Maxine Walden: bye for now, see you soon
Sunshine Vayandar: of course
Wol Euler: :) bye maxine, take care
Gaya Ethaniel: Nice seeing you again Maxine :)
Alfred Kelberry: maxine :)
Sunshine Vayandar: byebyee Maxine ;)
Sunshine Vayandar: it's full perm you can do anything you like
Freud Jungsten: I did try to chat about why sometimes violence is OK and others not.
Gaya Ethaniel: ?
Freud Jungsten: But it did not work.
Alfred Kelberry: woly, i'd rather see your pretty hair than have less lag :)
Freud Jungsten: Oh well.
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm important topic
Gaya Ethaniel: We can talk about that if you'd like Freud.
Wol Euler: sure
Freud Jungsten: Should we make PaB a no hair zone?
Gaya Ethaniel: lol
Wol Euler: no!
Sunshine Vayandar: lol
Alfred Kelberry: it was example of a good "violence"
Gaya Ethaniel: heh
Freud Jungsten: Tease
--BELL--
Sunshine Vayandar: what is good violance
Alfred Kelberry: it's never good, i think
Freud Jungsten: But what if the only way to stop violence is with vilence?
Alfred Kelberry: it may be for good purpose though
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm yes
Sunshine Vayandar: if someone attacks you - do you just stand there?
Alfred Kelberry: ruuun!!!
Freud Jungsten: More importantly though.
Alfred Kelberry: :)
Freud Jungsten: If you se somone else being atacked, do you respond?
Sunshine Vayandar: here in south africa - violance is overwhelming
Alfred Kelberry: :(
Gaya Ethaniel: Sorry to hear it ...
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm compared to hungary - it was a major thing to get used it
Sunshine Vayandar: *to
Gaya Ethaniel: A friend actually said whenever she travels to South Africa and comes back home in Europe, she notices how unsafe the place is ... by watching her tension melting away.
Sunshine Vayandar: I think it's better to examine each case - instead of talking in general
Gaya Ethaniel nods.
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm yes - fear is always there
Alfred Kelberry: sun, it's not safe to go out in the evening?
Sunshine Vayandar: no - never going out unless with others and specific areas
Alfred Kelberry: ouch
Gaya Ethaniel: People say one gets used to a climate like that etc. but I'm not really sure.
Sunshine Vayandar: it has become part of our everydays
Alfred Kelberry: gaya, people get used to many things
Sunshine Vayandar: it's a bit like in the wild - one needs to be alert - aware
Gaya Ethaniel: 'Used to' may mean different things Alfred.
Alfred Kelberry: first you're shocked, then you tolarate and then you just live with it
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm south africa is a treasure chest of a million wonderful things also ...
Alfred Kelberry: like sun :)
Sunshine Vayandar: <3
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Sunshine Vayandar: I learn a lot by being here that I could not learn in Hungary
Alfred Kelberry: you learn a lot indeed by traveling
Sunshine Vayandar: yes one learns a lot
Freud Jungsten: That is very very true.
Sunshine Vayandar: so violance is something I think of everyday
Sunshine Vayandar: and also how to try to reduce violance - or what causes it
Gaya Ethaniel listens.
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm it's like a domino effect
Sunshine Vayandar: once someone starts - it gets out of hand
Sunshine Vayandar: and eventually it becomes the norm
Sunshine Vayandar: and it's important to break that chain of violance
Alfred Kelberry: how do you do that?
Sunshine Vayandar: by not reacting with violance - like everyone else
Sunshine Vayandar: it depends on the situation
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm ...
Alfred Kelberry: what do you think cause violence in south africa?
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm poverty, lack of appreciation of each other
Sunshine Vayandar: thinking that it's ok to hurt the other - it's like a game
--BELL--
Sunshine Vayandar: I wish there was a local PaB to discuss this with South Africans
Sunshine Vayandar: 4 times a day hmm
Gaya Ethaniel: You could start one :)
Wol Euler: perhaps once a day to begin with :)
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm yes
Gaya Ethaniel: Or even once a week or month in RL :)
Sunshine Vayandar: I have to find a few local people that would be ready to be there
Sunshine Vayandar: I might see things from a different angle - not being from SA
Sunshine Vayandar: but very true
Gaya Ethaniel: Sounds exciting :)
Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Sunshine Vayandar: I have been running my project called the opencafe - for 10 years
Sunshine Vayandar: through which we started many interesting projects
Gaya Ethaniel: Nice :)
Sunshine Vayandar: it was basically an open source internet cafe
Alfred Kelberry: i think it's a great idea, sun
Sunshine Vayandar: in which we also firedanced and built solar ovens ;p
Alfred Kelberry: pab south africa
Sunshine Vayandar: depending on the idea ppl came up with
Gaya Ethaniel: Sounds nice :)
Sunshine Vayandar: yes PaB is very much like the opencafe
Sunshine Vayandar: ;))
Sunshine Vayandar: so if there is an opportunity - yes I will start it
Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Sunshine Vayandar: I can show you some pics to give you an idea
Gaya Ethaniel: If you don't mind please :)

Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Gaya Ethaniel: Sun's project in South Africa :)
Sunshine Vayandar: the idea was to explore many different meanings of "open"
Sunshine Vayandar: so it had to be open source ;)
Sunshine Vayandar: the cafe was running on Ubuntu Linux
Gaya Ethaniel: ah hence the name :)
Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Sunshine Vayandar: and the more languages, cultures the better
Sunshine Vayandar: wb Lugh ;)

Wol Euler: depends on theparticular region, the owner can set that
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, we are mature...giggles
Wol Euler: this *region* is rated adult even though our *parcel* is mature
oO0Oo Resident snaps Stevnaia's g-string
Wol Euler chuckles.
Loelia Zabaleta: haha
stevenaia Michinaga: perks up
Loelia Zabaleta wishes she had a g-string
Wol Euler: easily obtained :)
Loelia Zabaleta: true
Loelia Zabaleta: i might have one in my inventory
Loelia Zabaleta: lol
Freud Jungsten: I am not age verified and I m able to come here.
stevenaia Michinaga: someone must have carded you Freud
Freud Jungsten: lol
Freud Jungsten: I cant go to adult sims at all.
Bleu Oleander: this region say moderate

Wol Euler: what do you need?
Wol Euler: ah
Wol Euler: sure
Wol Euler: within the constraints of time and place and tiredness and so on
Alfred Kelberry: listeners lecture please :)
Alfred Kelberry: tricks and quirks :)
stevenaia Michinaga: cool
Alfred Kelberry: 6?
Wol Euler: stripped the resizers out of my hair
Alfred Kelberry: ah :)
Alfred Kelberry: how come it requires so many?
Wol Euler: one for each prim, I assume. I didn'T make it
Alfred Kelberry: i thought it's just a texture
Bleu Oleander: how do you do that?
Alfred Kelberry: complex
Alfred Kelberry: you mean in script, bleu?
Wol Euler: it's part of the scripting of the hair, that youcan remove the scripts :)
Alfred Kelberry: ah, asking woly :)
Bleu Oleander: where is that option?
Wol Euler: because the maker knows that the scripts are sreource-ntensive
Alfred Kelberry: you can if it's modifiable, right?
Wol Euler: erm, depends on the system you are using.
Wol Euler: when you click on your hair, do you get a dialog offering to resize/modify?
Bleu Oleander: no
Wol Euler: then it doesn't apply to you.
Bleu Oleander: :(
Wol Euler: your scripts must be elsewhere, your boots perhaps
Alfred Kelberry: bleu's hair is too pretty to be messed with :)
Bleu Oleander: yes
Wol Euler: bax boots are full of scripts
Bleu Oleander: but no option to delete
Alfred Kelberry: 5mb! :)
Wol Euler: btw did you get the group IM about the update to the ankle boots?
Alfred Kelberry: i should sort this table
Bleu Oleander: no
Wol Euler: there's a free update, I'll send you the notecard
Bleu Oleander: oh thanks
Alfred Kelberry: fashion divas :)
Bleu Oleander: ty!
Wol Euler: yw
Alfred Kelberry: guys, your suggestion on how to mark the plot borders? (in prim terms)
Wol Euler: do you need to do that?
Alfred Kelberry: it's liek to keep teh grass
Alfred Kelberry: i think so since people going to rez stuff
Alfred Kelberry: so that it woulnd't end up on someone else's plot
stevenaia Michinaga: you can turn on the property lines in your profile somewhere
Alfred Kelberry: but is it goign to show for all?
Wol Euler: View menu/Property lines
Wol Euler: no, only for those who enable it.
Alfred Kelberry: right, not an option :)
Wol Euler: perhaps put down a long thin white stripe (prim)
Wol Euler: around the field
Alfred Kelberry: yes, a box maybe. that's what i think.
Alfred Kelberry: it's not rectangular, but i'll cut a bit
Alfred Kelberry: woly :)
Wol Euler: that's all you need
Alfred Kelberry: right
Alfred Kelberry: thanks :)
