    Calvino Rabeni: Hello iwander :)
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
Calvino Rabeni: How are you .. what's on your mind today?
    iwandertoo Resident: quiet
iwandertoo Resident: and the need for it
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
    iwandertoo Resident: you?
Calvino Rabeni: As I was waiting here I was looking online for a used copy of a book by William James, "Essays in Radical Empiricism"
    iwandertoo Resident: why so?
Calvino Rabeni: And thinking a cup of tea would be nice to have
    iwandertoo Resident: nods...
Calvino Rabeni: Listening to the tea kettle
iwandertoo Resident: i love the sounds here
    --BELL--

    Calvino Rabeni: Good evening Ewan
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Ewan Bonham: Hi Folks..
Calvino Rabeni: How are you Ewan .. what's on your mind today?
Ewan Bonham: I am a bit under the weather. Not anythig specific..
Ewan Bonham: Just noticing the party..
Calvino Rabeni: There's a lot of creative energy around here lately, it's good to see
Ewan Bonham: I enjoyed the art exhibit..
Calvino Rabeni: Good evening Paradise !
    Ewan Bonham: Hi Para
Paradise Tennant: hiya cal .. ewan :) gtsy :)
Paradise Tennant: what am I sitting beside ?
Ewan Bonham: looks like the baloons..:)
Paradise Tennant: with all the pointy things ..
Calvino Rabeni: It's the 3-d version of the PaB star logo
    --BELL--
Paradise Tennant: sorry did not mean to interrupt the flow .. listening :)
Ewan Bonham: You are part of the flow..
Calvino Rabeni: There was a flow of silence ..and possibly one about creativity
Paradise Tennant: nods .. smiles .. we are flowing :)
Calvino Rabeni: Yes as Ewan notices, we're part of the flow
Calvino Rabeni: "just sitting" is tempting some times
Ewan Bonham: It is unusual for m..
    Ewan Bonham: me
Paradise Tennant: smiles it is full too .. nothing lacking sometimes just to be still
Paradise Tennant: a different kind of communication :)
Calvino Rabeni: do you like it for a change, or find something else more fitting?
Ewan Bonham: I enjoy it amongst this mood and energy..:)
Paradise Tennant: what every you two would like ... :) I am very flexible .. we are all good here .. everything done we need to do .. now just enjoying tea .. and the company ;)
Calvino Rabeni: There's something group-ish involved ...for a group to "agree" to be silent and enjoy it .. is different than sitting with the expectation of some activity
Calvino Rabeni: in which one may feel disconnected
Ewan Bonham: I feel fully connected...
Calvino Rabeni: it could be a feeling of communion or a feeling of alienation ..different experience of silence ... different things going on "inside"
    Calvino Rabeni smiles
Calvino Rabeni: I have my cup of tea here too
Ewan Bonham: For me at the moment it is communion..
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: well here one of us is feeling .. at ease the other is trying to bury a biscuit in his bed and finding it somewhat difficult so a layer of frustration :)
Paradise Tennant: eventually he will just eat it and all will be well again :)
    Ewan Bonham: Lol
    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: Animals have a gaze, it feels like we can read something into it about their mind .. a lot of differences in character between them
Ewan Bonham: Theyknow without having to block anything..
Ewan Bonham: They know...and that is all there is..
Calvino Rabeni: I seem to notice differences in *what* they know
Calvino Rabeni: One spends time watching
    Ewan Bonham: hmmm..
Calvino Rabeni: another has a one track mind mostly focused on whether somethign is edible or not
Calvino Rabeni: regardless whether he just ate or not
Ewan Bonham: My dog looks to my lead..
Paradise Tennant: makes me think of embracing the sky by daniel tamment ..how we set up our own limitations build them ... one by one .animals not so much :)
Calvino Rabeni: A lot of dogs are thinking through the others around them
    Paradise Tennant: *tammet
Calvino Rabeni: as a pack kind of mind
    Ewan Bonham: and heart..
Paradise Tennant: I am sure mine thinks me somewhat retarded at times .. I miss what is so obvious to him :)
    Calvino Rabeni: Yes
    Ewan Bonham: Especially in myself..
Calvino Rabeni: I'm curious whether what the dog knows gets translated into an insight that the person knows about him/her self
Paradise Tennant: smiles and waves hello to observerm :)
Ewan Bonham: Only if I bother to listen...:)
Calvino Rabeni: .. and interpret, I guess
Calvino Rabeni: It brings to mind, an essay I was reading, about someone who was trying to learn indigenous culture singing, by going around making recordings and listening to the recordings
Calvino Rabeni: and got a critical reception for it like .. that won't get you what you are trying to get ..
Calvino Rabeni: because that's not where the action is
Ewan Bonham: Oh, the Hawthorne effect...
Calvino Rabeni: what's the Hawthorne effect, Ewan?
    Ewan Bonham: It self expectancy..
Ewan Bonham: Or what you place in your mind, will manifest..
Calvino Rabeni: What was life like before wikipedia ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawthorne_effect
    Ewan Bonham: Lol..
Paradise Tennant: nods :) and smiles ..love our wiki brain :)
Calvino Rabeni: Oh I see, an observer effect
Paradise Tennant: hmm more a manifester effect....
    --BELL--

Ewan Bonham: Yes, and self fulfilling prophecy..
Ewan Bonham: Thank you all...I will leave you now...:))
Paradise Tennant: good nite ewan :) thank you for the conversation :)
    Calvino Rabeni nods
Paradise Tennant: well a quieter nite cal .. shall we wind down with a poem go round ?
Paradise Tennant: if lucinda were here we could play that word game :)))
Calvino Rabeni: I want to finish that though about listening ... the missing piece of the experience .. the most important part .. was the actual presence of the singer ..
Calvino Rabeni: it is important to sit really *close* enough to watch their lips and feel the force of their breath being released there
Calvino Rabeni: and everything else about the embodiment of that singing
Calvino Rabeni: which the recorder is blind to
    Calvino Rabeni: ...
Paradise Tennant: yes music is incomplete without a listener and singer loop .. each completes the other ..without both the resonatance is lost :))) after listening to all the live music in sl I have found it hard to listen to canned music almost never do anymore :)
Calvino Rabeni: Maybe it is "what the dog sees" :)
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Calvino Rabeni: In SL I can't see their eyes and lips though :)
Calvino Rabeni: or watch them sweat
Paradise Tennant: yes but the presences is still there .. find it remarkably close to sitting in the room with them
Paradise Tennant: oooo lucinda logged in :) big smiles
Calvino Rabeni: that's one great thing about live music ... seeing the passion through their bodies
Calvino Rabeni: Smiles, just on Cue Lucinda :)
Paradise Tennant: connecting to it and being part of it .. it is a circular flow :)
Paradise Tennant: hiya lucinda we were just pining for you : )
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, can the artist feel the audience
Lucinda Lavender: I have been pining for you all as well:)
Calvino Rabeni: There's live, and then there's *really live*
Calvino Rabeni: Cinda, how are you?
Lucinda Lavender: Well had an interesting yoga class this afternoon, and a lovely spring dinner of asperagus and salmon and potat
    Lucinda Lavender: o
Lucinda Lavender: I think I am ok yet had to make extra trips to cat food store so am late arriving here
Paradise Tennant: yum sounds like a wonderful day .. I had nice long run and take out lebanese which was .. very yummy too :)
    Lucinda Lavender: yum!
Lucinda Lavender: pining is an interesting word brought up from the story at yoga
    Lucinda Lavender: :)))
Calvino Rabeni: What was the story?
Paradise Tennant: smiles we are in flow ...
Lucinda Lavender: some one attending a dinner with the teacher show sadness when pine nuts were placed in the salad...this was a sad memory for the pining one
Lucinda Lavender: pine nuts reminded him of his ex wife
Lucinda Lavender: there was a lesson here about how to keep going even in the presence of a bad memory
Lucinda Lavender: and when I told it to my husband he said oh the fellow was pining!
Calvino Rabeni: Ah, what was the yoga teacher conveying about how to keep going?
Paradise Tennant: nods yes! on many levels :)
Calvino Rabeni: Well, one could use humor and make puns about things, that might help!
Lucinda Lavender: well it seemed that there was an understanding that one could reconnect with the boduies sensations and come back out of the sadness
    Lucinda Lavender: bodies
Lucinda Lavender: and yes a humors joke works too:)
Lucinda Lavender: we were told to keep moving even when it was hard...because half a world away it is hard too
Calvino Rabeni: The intelligence of the body, accessed through the sensations, may hold the memory in a new larger sense of significance
    Lucinda Lavender: True!
    --BELL--

Lucinda Lavender: memory is so individual was also part of the idea
Lucinda Lavender: noone else had sadness connected to pine nuts
    Calvino Rabeni: I do :)
Calvino Rabeni: not really .. but the body also learns things rapidly,.. I ate pine nuts and got sick .. probably not from the pine nuts, but now my body has a fixed notion of them, does not "like" them
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Paradise Tennant: we attach a lot of significance to losing things without sometimes remembering the joy and blessing of having them ... :)
    Lucinda Lavender: yes!
    Lucinda Lavender: hi steve
    stevenaia Michinaga: waves
Paradise Tennant: hiya stev gtsy :)))
stevenaia Michinaga: always nice to be here again
    Calvino Rabeni: Hi Stevenaia :)
    Lucinda Lavender: :)really Cal?
    Calvino Rabeni nods
    Lucinda Lavender: yes steve...
Paradise Tennant: should send you a lucy waverman recipe for dices brussl sprouts proscutto and fired pine nuts kind of casserole thingy ..you would reconsider :)
Lucinda Lavender: we were speaking of the strangeness of memories
Paradise Tennant: lol sorry getting sleepy :) and pine nuts !
    Lucinda Lavender: :)))
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
Paradise Tennant: how they can evoke loss and bring back joy ..
Lucinda Lavender: we love our food I think...
    Lucinda Lavender: nice steve!
    stevenaia Michinaga: hehe
Lucinda Lavender: food as a filter for love
    stevenaia Michinaga: sunshine made them
    Lucinda Lavender: sweet
Lucinda Lavender: like the spring dinner I was fixed tonight...an expression of love for spring!
Paradise Tennant: was telling stev last week about driving down a friend's street and having to stop the car because a wind had caused a virutal blizzard of cherry blossoms so many swirling blossoms just a like a white out could not see .. pulled over and got out of the car and just stood there feeling them sweep all around me .. magical .. brought back vividly by us standing near a cherry tree in sl :)
    Lucinda Lavender: so lovely!
Paradise Tennant: love asparagus .. salmon sounds like a true banquet :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: nice connection
Paradise Tennant: smiles at lucinda there will be daffodils soon :)
Lucinda Lavender: Yoga teacher had a story about cherrey blossoms on the first night I attended...he had dreamt of them..knew they were coming to him and that very day received a painting of them that reminded him of his dream from years previous
stevenaia Michinaga: there are "things" coming up here now... I just don;t know what they are, pretty colored flowers though
    Lucinda Lavender: crocuses?
Paradise Tennant: at a family cottage I grew up at .. we had daffodils so many daffodils that kept self multiplying ..there were several weekends when everywhere was awash in yellow :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: I think so
    stevenaia Michinaga: red and purple
Lucinda Lavender: wow...the beginning of something that is experienced about intense color?
    Lucinda Lavender: the daffodils...?
Paradise Tennant: smiles at lucinda bright eyes :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I ahve a personal shopper in SL and a personal gardener in RL
    Lucinda Lavender: :)))
    Lucinda Lavender: nice
Paradise Tennant: yes were spectacular .. we would separate the bulbs in the fall and replant them ..
stevenaia Michinaga: only because I know nothing of either in each world
Paradise Tennant: smiles at stev you are a very lucky person
stevenaia Michinaga: laughs, sometimes being pathetic at each is a blessing
Lucinda Lavender: but ll wants to say congratulations if you own a pink shirt...
Lucinda Lavender: which she thinks you do...
    Lucinda Lavender: silence...
    Paradise Tennant: lol
stevenaia Michinaga: looking through inventory in a panic.....
Paradise Tennant: pink is a bold .. male statement :) one that shouts assurance :)
Lucinda Lavender: no...saw this in fb...
    Lucinda Lavender: rl shirt?
    --BELL--

stevenaia Michinaga: that was orange w/ espresso
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Lucinda Lavender: I have a memory about pink shirts being good I think now that I think about it...
    Lucinda Lavender: so interesting...
Paradise Tennant: we could do a run on the things we love .. I will start .. love smelling my dog's paws at night ..they smell often of the beach .. a little seaweedy .. places he has been :))
Lucinda Lavender: so will probably forever feel love associated with them...
stevenaia Michinaga: cat joining me at the computer with head on my arm
    stevenaia Michinaga: (now)
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: and purring
Calvino Rabeni: holding the cat which likes to stretch out in space in my hands like an astro-cat
Lucinda Lavender: still stuck on the pink shirt:)
Lucinda Lavender: nothing new popping up yet
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: sometimes... it's jsut everything
Paradise Tennant: like ironed sheets .. my mom use to iron the sheets ..they feel different .. nicer :) she would iron them with lavender water .. )))
Lucinda Lavender: like everywhere we have been...
    Lucinda Lavender: smooth fresheness
stevenaia Michinaga: bedtime for me, night, speaking of sheets
Paradise Tennant: yes if you could look inside your self and see all at once all the happy happy moments .. I think it would be like looking at a galaxy of shining moments
Paradise Tennant: nite nite stev :) :)
Calvino Rabeni: Bye steve, take care
    Lucinda Lavender: :)night steve:)
Lucinda Lavender: yes...part of tonights meditation had the universe within us...
Paradise Tennant: can you say more lucinda ...
Lucinda Lavender: I think there is a universe with in made availble through awarness of sensation
Lucinda Lavender: all the movement of energy warmly present
Lucinda Lavender: helps to have exercised and then listend to the body
Paradise Tennant: yes find that too .. like it connects you better to the flow when you have been moving :)
    Lucinda Lavender: sorry about spelling....
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Lucinda Lavender: and channels open up...
Lucinda Lavender: but that is still a new awareness for me
    Calvino Rabeni nods
Calvino Rabeni: it is for a lot of people
Lucinda Lavender: I think if I understood well...we were connecting the pineal gland to the bolarpleus and the heart to the world
Calvino Rabeni: It's another way to access familiars though, like intuition
    Lucinda Lavender: solar
    --BELL--

Lucinda Lavender: familiars? can you say more?
Calvino Rabeni: when people use intuition, it's confirmed or associated with a feeling-sense
Calvino Rabeni: that practice of cultivating awareness of body sensation
Calvino Rabeni: results in more overall sensitivity
Calvino Rabeni: to a lot of ways the body participates in all kinds of knowing
    Lucinda Lavender: nodding
    Paradise Tennant: nods yes :)
    Lucinda Lavender: yes
Calvino Rabeni: which I think it fair to say, every kind of knowing has its bodily dimensions
Calvino Rabeni: so a general sensitivity awareness really enhances lots of ways of knowing
Lucinda Lavender: like having a shiver...or the sense of spinning
Lucinda Lavender: I have been told that the shiver can be connected to truth
Lucinda Lavender: as can sensation of awe
Calvino Rabeni: from "can you trust someone" to "which color looks better here today" to "what would be healthy to eat" to "how do I SAY this and know I said it WELL", etc.
    Lucinda Lavender: nods
Calvino Rabeni: Like when choosing words ... trying to find just the "right" word ...
Calvino Rabeni: while writing or even speaking
Paradise Tennant: sometimes think we have more than one body :) there are layers to it .. we imprint understanding at different layers .. that do not always mesh together in consciousness but are there nonetheless
Calvino Rabeni: Shivers are fascinating ... to see the different things they mean and how they mean them
Lucinda Lavender: love that feeling that comes with a right word...yes the yoga teacher speaks of the energy body ...
Calvino Rabeni: Yes I like that feeling when the word is right
Paradise Tennant: smiles but almost all my layers are sleepy now .. so I will say thank you and good nite .. think I will hold that memory of the cherry blossoms in my head to see it will come againin a dream :)
    Lucinda Lavender: :) wonderful...
Paradise Tennant: namaste my friends :) may you have the joy of understanding : :))
Calvino Rabeni feels the slow descending of delicate blossoms
    Calvino Rabeni: Thanks Paradise
    Calvino Rabeni: Swim well :)
    Lucinda Lavender: take care Paradise:)
    Lucinda Lavender: and dream
Paradise Tennant: smiles :) blows bubbles :)
Calvino Rabeni: Well then Cinda shall we call it a night?
    Lucinda Lavender: Sure...lovely eve...
Calvino Rabeni: Bye then, take care and dream well
Lucinda Lavender: sweet dreams to you as well:)
