Mickorod Renard: lots say that,,i think something is wrong with my laptop
Agatha Macbeth: Ah, it's a laptop, that explains it

Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Mickorod Renard: yay
Agatha Macbeth: Yay!
Agatha Macbeth: How did the retreat go?
Mickorod Renard: I get a half day on wednesdays
Wol Euler: mostly great.
Wol Euler: it was very retreat-like, to an extent that surprised me
Wol Euler: but it requires a huge amount of discipline and dedication
Agatha Macbeth: Well that's something I don't have :(
Wol Euler: and ideally a special room / table / place for the weekend
Agatha Macbeth nods
Wol Euler: no, nor I. I found myself continually battling distraction
Agatha Macbeth: Did you 'learn' anything interesting?
Wol Euler ponders. I'm not sure what form "learning" might come in at such an event.
Agatha Macbeth: Me too
Wol Euler: I'm inclined to say that it strengthened some things and reminded me of others, and that perhaps this is more than enough.
Agatha Macbeth smiles
Mickorod Renard: tha sound positive Wol
Agatha Macbeth: Aye, tha does! :p
Wol Euler smiles
Wol Euler: it was very positive
Mickorod Renard: hey, do you want to hear a baby cry?
Wol Euler: uplifting, confirming, encouraging
Agatha Macbeth: Er....
Wol Euler: not if it means you pulling its toes, mick
Mickorod Renard: he he
Mickorod Renard: dont worry, i will manage with the noise myself :)
Agatha Macbeth grins
Mickorod Renard: I know, I can put my headphones on
Agatha Macbeth: Told you it was a good idea to turn that mic off
Mickorod Renard: yea
Agatha Macbeth: :)
Mickorod Renard: so Wol,,was it the sl retreat?
Wol Euler: O.O

arabella Ella: I cant scroll back Wol
arabella Ella: :(
Wol Euler: I'll give you a nc then
arabella Ella: ty
Mickorod Renard: I have, but I read that bit
Agatha Macbeth is confused now
Mickorod Renard: I can see the need to take urself off to a private room
Agatha Macbeth: With a baby crying, for sure...
arabella Ella: thanks Wol
arabella Ella: will read it now
Mickorod Renard: yea, I get no peace
Agatha Macbeth: Now that IS distracting
Mickorod Renard: I dont seem to have any time these days
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, life is hectic
Wol Euler nods.
Mickorod Renard: thats why the rl retreat is the only chance for me
Wol Euler: are you going to Italy, mick?
Mickorod Renard: yes,
Agatha Macbeth: Italia...Italia!
Mickorod Renard: I havn realy got the time for that, but I have just buldozed it in
Wol Euler: good for you :)
Agatha Macbeth loves the image of Mick on a bulldozer
Mickorod Renard: :)
Wol Euler: cigar in the corner of his mouth
Wol Euler: like the boss of the A team, whats is name
arabella Ella: Mr O
Agatha Macbeth: Wasn't that Clint Eastwood?
Mickorod Renard: I feel a bit odd goin on the retreat when I have hardly been here since xmas

Bleu Oleander: and very bleu
At this point, someone else arrived, but since she proceeded to spend the remainder of the session away, I could not ask if she was a returner or for permission to record, so she remains anonymous here.

Mickorod Renard: I got stuck once like that
Mickorod Renard: I couldn't log off and et was frozen

Mickorod Renard: have you ever noticed how many budhist teachers try and emulate the dali lama's laugh?
Agatha Macbeth: Right
arabella Ella: and it has a state of emergency
Agatha Macbeth: Oh dear

Bleu Oleander: yes!
Wol Euler: The 127 who arrived early on Tuesday pushed the migrant numbers to about 5,500 on Lampedusa.
Wol Euler: it says there.
arabella Ella: over 15K arrived on Lampedusa in the past few weeks
arabella Ella: many have been transferred by boat to Sicily
arabella Ella: but more arrive each day
Agatha Macbeth: Hope there's plenty of food then

Mickorod Renard: its a mad hous everywhere
arabella Ella: including quite a few women and children
Agatha Macbeth: The Med is a busy place right now
Bleu Oleander: http://af.reuters.com/article/tunisi...72R1ZZ20110328
arabella Ella: did any of you see the video of the Libyan woman who was raped and tried to tell her story to the european journalists in their hotel and she was arrested and abused in front of their eyes?
Mickorod Renard: if you had the power to do anything what would you do to help?
Bleu Oleander: say that Ara ... terrible
Mickorod Renard: yes I did
arabella Ella: i dunno mick what anyone could do really
arabella Ella: the journalists did their best and it wasnt enough
Mickorod Renard: is there any one country that could accomodate so many?
--BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Dash.
Mickorod Renard: or perhaps the international community could issue places to distribute folk about?
Wol Euler: shhhhhh
Mickorod Renard: hi Dash

Bruce Mowbray: The article says that the woman is a lawyer. . .
Bruce Mowbray: I'd not heard that.
Dash Earthboy: i'm still trying to recover from a suspicious fire outside which cost me a boat I'd got for my son and I a dozen years ago and the trailer we built to haul it
Wol Euler: :(
Wol Euler: sorry to hear that, dash.
Agatha Macbeth: OMG
Dash Earthboy: the fire was on St. Pats Day
Mickorod Renard: :(
Agatha Macbeth: (Where did Ara go?)
Bleu Oleander: Korel, does virtually smoking help you to cut down your RL smoking?
Wol Euler: :)
Mickorod Renard: dunno, crashed
Bruce Mowbray: Oh, Dash -- I'm sorry to hear that ---
Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Dash Earthboy: virtually smoking?
Korel Laloix: Very much so.

Bleu Oleander: that's good
Bruce Mowbray worries about second-hand virtual smoke.
Korel Laloix: lol
Wol Euler: agreed
Agatha Macbeth: :p
Wol Euler: satisfies the craving, perhaps...
Bleu Oleander: on some level you're satisfied
Wol Euler: yep
Korel Laloix: Probably bad here as well.
Wol Euler: the electrons get all dirty.
Agatha Macbeth wipes the electrons
Bruce Mowbray: OH WOW! I can see MUCH better now!!
Bleu Oleander: can you have effects from virtual second hand smoke?
Agatha Macbeth: Yay!
Dash Earthboy: been watching the actors in old Alfred Hitchcock shows...the screen doesn't seem to be tarring up
Wol Euler: virtual effects yes :)
Bruce Mowbray: I hear it can stunt your grooooowwwwwth. . . .

Agatha Macbeth: Oh yeah, thank God we're synchronised again
Agatha Macbeth: Sessions starting at 8PM are just too early for me
arabella Ella: oh yes Ags i hate it when the US changes time a few weeks before us
Agatha Macbeth: Well if it HAS to be done, why not everyone do it together?
arabella Ella: precisely
Agatha Macbeth: Makes more sense
Mickorod Renard: maybe it would make the world spin around too fast?
arabella Ella: in other words it makes no sense to have it as it is
Dash Earthboy: i seriously do not understand the whole time change deal for industrialized countries
Agatha Macbeth: Never thought of that Mick
Mickorod Renard: :)
arabella Ella: i like summerime with longer evenings
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, me too
Mickorod Renard: yes, I am all for keeping warmer weather longer

Agatha Macbeth: The day seems to be over too quick in the winter
arabella Ella: on sunday here people were actually swimming in the sea - tourists of course
Agatha Macbeth: Brits probably :p
arabella Ella: and the sea was incredibly beautiful and calm ... a dream
Mickorod Renard: perhas we could work during the winter, when the day is shorter, and have the longer days off
arabella Ella: may not be brits Ags
arabella Ella: brits now find eurozone too expensive
Agatha Macbeth: Well you know what we're like when we see the sun
arabella Ella: yes
arabella Ella: you can recognise the brits from their strappy dresses at the moment
Agatha Macbeth: Strappy dresses eh?
arabella Ella: yes
arabella Ella: the locals here are still in winter jumpers
Agatha Macbeth: Don't think I have one
