The Guardian for this meeting was Lucinda Lavender. The comments are by Lucinda Lavender.

    druth Vlodovic: cya
    Bleu Oleander: bye druth
    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Druth :)
Eliza Madrigal: Luci, I hope you feel okay when everone rushes away? It is an odd moment....
Eliza Madrigal: a lot like the 'drop' between the voice and text sessions on Fridays
    Sunshine Vayandar: hmm yes
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Lucinda Lavender: ah...yes I feel fine.
Sunshine Vayandar: feels a bit sad
Eliza Madrigal: its funny.... a lot to see in the boundary
Lucinda Lavender: I understand since everyone is on their scedules etc
Bleu Oleander: like the end of a party
Eliza Madrigal: or to feel I guess... I was okay with it to, but still odd :)
Lucinda Lavender: I a bit yes
Eliza Madrigal: *too (when I held this session)
Lucinda Lavender: a big wind blows them out:)
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Eliza Madrigal: I was surprised to see Pema here at all today... imagine there might be lots of phone calls to make to Japan
    Lucinda Lavender: yes!
Sunshine Vayandar: Pema used to live there?
Lucinda Lavender: I just woke to the new and do not even know when it happened...
Eliza Madrigal: he lives there half the year, and his wife Kiremimi is Japanese...
Sunshine Vayandar: oh ok wow ;)
Sunshine Vayandar: I just imagined me living in japan half a year
Eliza Madrigal: Luci! Me too... so strange to sleep through something like that ... be totally unaware
Sunshine Vayandar: then africa another half
Sunshine Vayandar: and india another hehe
Eliza Madrigal smiles Sun... we'll figure it out... giggles
Sunshine Vayandar: this was really interesting - I never attended this session before
Yakuzza Lethecus: i wonder how to show compassion, i asked a couple of japanese contacts before but in how far are thoughts and words really helpful
Yakuzza Lethecus: even if they are honestly meant in that way
Sunshine Vayandar: I need to read the wiki before I come next time
Yakuzza Lethecus: in how far does compassion incluede action
Eliza Madrigal: Oh Sun.... get started now then, giggles....
Bleu Oleander: yes Sun and submit a report :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;))
Eliza Madrigal: Well, compassion 'is' active, in a sense....
    Sunshine Vayandar: hehe
    Lucinda Lavender: good question Yaku
Eliza Madrigal: if it isn't it isn't compassion, but that may not 'look' like what one expects...?
Eliza Madrigal: compassion can be a 'kire' or work of art that startles someone so much they never get it out of their mind....
Lucinda Lavender: how do you pronounce kire?
Eliza Madrigal: the image of one person standing in front of a tank... for instance
Eliza Madrigal: I think it is an Irish sounding word?
    Eliza Madrigal: K 'eye' r?
    Eliza Madrigal: like fire?
    Eliza Madrigal: maybe wrong... hehe....
    Lucinda Lavender: is it Japanese?
Yakuzza Lethecus: being speechless watching the live ticker about cooling systems of power plants, IMing contacts in japan how they are, nothing constructive possible just a schocking moment
Lucinda Lavender: I think it makes me quieter to know what is going on...and to feel more love.
Eliza Madrigal: I was looking for the definition and say kire described as a 'leap in viewpoint'
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Zen :)
    Bleu Oleander: hi Zen
    Lucinda Lavender: Hi Zen:)
Eliza Madrigal: (but no pronunciation on that page)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey zen :)
    Zen Arado: Hi y'all
    Lucinda Lavender: thanks Eliza
    Eliza Madrigal: say = *see
    Lucinda Lavender: leap in viewpoint...interesting
    Sunshine Vayandar: hi Zen ;)
Eliza Madrigal: as is 'getting quieter'... slowing down...
    Lucinda Lavender: yes...
    Lucinda Lavender: considering seriously...
Eliza Madrigal: make more room to really care ....
Lucinda Lavender: we teach the children in our school to handle earthquake and we a somewhat prepared
Lucinda Lavender: we have a ritual we do:)
Lucinda Lavender: sit on a red blanket and eat marshmallows in front of a battery driven light and sing camping songs as we call it camping at school
    --BELL--
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi everyone! <3
Bleu Oleander: nice to c everyone .... take care :)
Lucinda Lavender: nice to see you Bleu...
    Sunshine Vayandar: byebyee Bleu ;)
    Bleu Oleander: hi/bye Sharon
    Eliza Madrigal: bye Bleu :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Sharon :)
Lucinda Lavender: I like the ballon
    Sunshine Vayandar: hi Sharon ;)
    Lucinda Lavender: balloon
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hi ssl
Lucinda Lavender: I hope to hear more about your work at the guardian meeting
    Bleu Oleander: bye :)
    Lucinda Lavender: ifHi Sophia Sharon
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :))
Zen Arado: bye Bley, hi Sharon :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hello bertrum
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Bertrum
    Sunshine Vayandar: hi Bert ;)
    Bertrum Resident: Hi everyone
Eliza Madrigal: Luci, does the ritual help the children to feel calmer? When I worked in schools in Miami we didn't have earthquake prep, however we had 'lockdowns'....
    Lucinda Lavender: ah yes:)
Eliza Madrigal: such a strange thing to exude 'normalness' in those moments
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bert, RoOomi
Lucinda Lavender: yes...we sing Home on the Range:)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Ro0omi
    Sunshine Vayandar: hi Rooomi ;)
    Eliza Madrigal: hmm....
    Lucinda Lavender: Hi Roo0omi
    Zen Arado: Hi Bert, Roomi
Lucinda Lavender: the main learning is that the loud fire bell can go off and we don't have to be terrified of that
Zen Arado: 'where never us heard a discouraging word'
    Zen Arado: is*
    Zen Arado: would be nice
Lucinda Lavender: we first practice that for fire and then we come inside and practise eaarthquake response
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Zen
Lucinda Lavender: in a room with no windows
    Lucinda Lavender: safest
Lucinda Lavender: my guitar is there and the extra food and supplies
    SophiaSharon Larnia: smiles at Luci
Lucinda Lavender: we have special jobs for each teacher
Eliza Madrigal: maybe the most compassionate thing we can do, most of the time, is be fully present right where we are, and do our 'best' ?
Sunshine Vayandar: I think so Eliza
    Lucinda Lavender: yes
Zen Arado: not so easy tho
Eliza Madrigal: my meme used to say 'a place for everything and everything in its place'... but that is difficult to reconcile with these images...
Lucinda Lavender: a lot of movement there...
Eliza Madrigal waves to obs :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi observerm'
    Sunshine Vayandar: hi obs ;)
    observerm Resident: hello
    Lucinda Lavender: hi Bertrum, observerm
Lucinda Lavender: did not see you:)
    Bertrum Resident: Hi
Eliza Madrigal: slowing down ... being present together, right where we are....
SophiaSharon Larnia: i like your typing anim Zen, reminds me of someone making bread or pie crust :)
    --BELL--
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey boxy
    Alfred Kelberry: meep!
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Boxy :))
    Lucinda Lavender: hi boxy:)
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
    Zen Arado: ty Sharon
Sunshine Vayandar: It's interesting how often we are present "somewhere else" and tend to not notice whatever is happing in front of us. Once one sees the imagines from Japan - one tends to disappear from "here" and is "there".
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Boxy
    Sunshine Vayandar: meep!
    Zen Arado: wuff wuff
Alfred Kelberry: my condolences to those who lost their closed ones in japan :(
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes Sun :)
    Eliza Madrigal: yes, Sunshine....
SophiaSharon Larnia: is thinking of Pila too
Eliza Madrigal: yes had hoped to hear Pila check in....
    Lucinda Lavender: oh yes!
SophiaSharon Larnia: thankfully my sister moved back to pa from Cali a few weeks ago
Lucinda Lavender: has the Tzunami travelled there yet?
Zen Arado: I suppose if you live in an earthquake region you are gonna get earthquakes but it is always still a shock when it happens
Eliza Madrigal: before this the volcano down mountain from him was errupting intensely a few days ago as well (Pila)
SophiaSharon Larnia: i heard there's a chance Luci
SophiaSharon Larnia: oh wow Eliza, I wonder if they're related somehow
Yakuzza Lethecus: according to new channels there wasn´t much damage on haweii fortunatly
Lucinda Lavender: wow...well hope to hear more soon
    Yakuzza Lethecus: news
Eliza Madrigal: good news Yaku, because supposedly that is the first real 'test'?
Zen Arado: is Calif at other end of that plate?
SophiaSharon Larnia: its on the coast of the usa, tot he east of Japan
Eliza Madrigal: Sun, when you noticed being 'there' rather than here, did you find it possible to bring 'there' here, then?
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Sunshine Vayandar: not sure what you mean hmm
Zen Arado: there is here nowadays
    Alfred Kelberry: metaeliza :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: hehe
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :D
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Lucinda Lavender: ones view perhaps snaps back...
Sunshine Vayandar: it's like thoughts about japan keep coming and its hard to focus on other things
Yakuzza Lethecus: what i´ve been following was the news on the nuklear power plant without cooling system
    Zen Arado: yeh me too
Eliza Madrigal: seems that when we notice that we split our attention we might question that a bit... and practices like tonglen or meta come into play....
Zen Arado: that could be catastrophic
SophiaSharon Larnia: orthe here recedes as the there comes closer into view
Alfred Kelberry: yaku, they'll cool it manually
SophiaSharon Larnia: and becomes here :)
Zen Arado: not if they lose ancillary power
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
SophiaSharon Larnia: by blowing on it Boxy, how do they do that?
Lucinda Lavender: in 2L it feels like we are practising joinging with others at a distance in a more real way that passively viewing...
Zen Arado: wonder what type of reactor?
    Lucinda Lavender: joining...than
Alfred Kelberry: sophia, don't know the technical details
    Eliza Madrigal nods Luci
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Lucinda Lavender: we are listening to many cultures and their awarenesses
Lucinda Lavender: is that a word?
    Zen Arado: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1vbUJbUCnI
Alfred Kelberry: one number that i heard was 10k people missing...
    Eliza Madrigal: ?!!
    Alfred Kelberry: not confirmed
Eliza Madrigal: we might dedicate our pauses ... small gesture.... but what there 'is to do'
Alfred Kelberry: i think we could donate
Eliza Madrigal: yes I'm sure that will come as well...
Zen Arado: earthquake risk not often mentioned re nuke plants
Lucinda Lavender: what time did it happen I wonder...
Eliza Madrigal: 2 in the afternoon , 'there'
Lucinda Lavender: yes to the idea eliza of dedication and donation
    Zen Arado: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42025882...-asia-pacific/
Alfred Kelberry: i'd think that living in such seismic area, any contruction, especially as prominent as a nuclear plant, has an earthquake considered
Eliza Madrigal: yes.... risk is factored but no such thing as being totally fortified
Eliza Madrigal: I'll have to leave after the pause... thank you everyone
    Zen Arado: bye Eliza
    --BELL--
    Bertrum Resident: bye Eliza
    Alfred Kelberry: stay eliza :)

Eliza Madrigal: but has to go, honestly....
    Zen Arado: Hi Druth :)
Alfred Kelberry: be safe eliza :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: wb druth
    druth Vlodovic: hi all
    Eliza Madrigal: Namaste'
    Alfred Kelberry: druth :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: hi Druth ;)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Druth
    Lucinda Lavender: bye Eliza:)
Zen Arado: she's gone boxy :(
    Lucinda Lavender: hi Druth:)

Sunshine Vayandar: the there is here
Zen Arado: there but here :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: vs there ?
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Lucinda Lavender: Luci is watching the news..so hard not to feel I should watch as I will leave for work after next pause:)
SophiaSharon Larnia: so thats how you keep everything 'here' keep it all in the front of your mind :)
Zen Arado isn't all there :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hehe
Lucinda Lavender: I guess following 2 threads:)
Zen Arado: always too many threads
Lucinda Lavender: I will also afterwards listen to dreams of others...some people usually get a heads up on this sort of thing
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes, find it easier to just rest in it and let what thread needs to vbe apparent, be so. Right or wrong :)
Zen Arado: think I follow the wrong threads
Alfred Kelberry: 10 km in land :/
Zen Arado: the ones that are more fun
