Wol Euler was guardian for this session.

    Yakuzza Lethecus: good morning wol
    Wol Euler: good morning, yaku
Yakuzza Lethecus: the news from japan are so horrible
    Wol Euler: agreed
Yakuzza Lethecus: the last thing i checked was the actual wind direction

    --BELL--

Yakuzza Lethecus: the news go from the meltdown already happened to is about to start
    Wol Euler nods.
    Wol Euler: good morning, egg
    eggsalad Ormstein: hello wol
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good morning eggsalad
    eggsalad Ormstein: hi yaku
Yakuzza Lethecus: it's terrible news from japan this morning, i wonder if it's even good to follow it

A short pause, during which Eggsalad vanishes silently.

    Yakuzza Lethecus: there he goes
Wol Euler: ah well, so much for that.
    Wol Euler: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...085938&t=h&z=7
Wol Euler: I was checking the distance from Sendai to Kyoto (around 500 miles = 800km) and found this satellite map with the sea-bed
    Wol Euler: wb egg
    Yakuzza Lethecus: wb egg
    eggsalad Ormstein: ty
Yakuzza Lethecus: at least the wind seems to be comming from the west

    --BELL--

Yakuzza Lethecus: how to find the right approach to the things that are going through our heads ?
Yakuzza Lethecus: stuckness, sadness about the things that happen but what bothers me is the passivity
    Wol Euler nods
Wol Euler: perhaps concentrate on doing what we *can* do
Wol Euler: which for most of us, well outside Japan, is very little
Wol Euler: if I knew how to fix nuclear-power-stations I would offer my services, but I don't.
Wol Euler: so I donate to the red cross, and I watch the news ...
Wol Euler: what do you think, egg?
eggsalad Ormstein: I try not to, it makes my head hurt
eggsalad Ormstein: but when I do, I think the end times are near
    Wol Euler nods

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: are you still here, yaku?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: yes
Yakuzza Lethecus: observing my thoughts, following the news
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: I was wondering about "passivity"
Wol Euler: [01:17] Yaku (yakuzza.lethecus): how to find the right approach to the things that are going through hour heads ? [01:18] Yaku (yakuzza.lethecus): stuckness, sadness about the things that happen but what bothers me is the passivity
Wol Euler: could you say a little about that?
Yakuzza Lethecus: sitting here, thinking of the ppl, even writing to those ppl i know in japan yesterday
Yakuzza Lethecus: everyone "i know" is also fine
Yakuzza Lethecus: still in principle since i was following the news i kind of knew that even before
Yakuzza Lethecus: still i am asking and i have the feeling that we are informed at the same time of the things that happen as the japanese themselves
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: citizen of the world, indeed
Wol Euler: the global village is a reality, anyone can hear all the gossip or news from anywhere
Wol Euler: but I'm wondering about "passivity"
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, it's the physical passivity
    Wol Euler: meaning?
Yakuzza Lethecus: my mind is active and searching for a "right focus"
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am drifting from my general "pro nuklear energy opinion" which i question right now
Wol Euler: you and many others! :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: then the questions are about validity of information
Yakuzza Lethecus: newscasters are very reluctand to say "it's a meltdown"
Yakuzza Lethecus: a greenpeace said that they were considering it a partial meltdown already when the issue with the pressue appeared last night
    Wol Euler nods.
Yakuzza Lethecus: going through wikipages on different reactortypes right now, what's secure or not , even watching new reactortypes
    Wol Euler smiles.
Yakuzza Lethecus: well there is a certain activity going on, but what's "the right one"
Wol Euler: perhaps there is no right one?
Wol Euler: perhaps there really is NOTHING that is sensible or useful or helpful for us in Germany to do today?

    --BELL--

Yakuzza Lethecus: living life just as it is ? i don't think i cared that much as i did today when the tsunami hit
Yakuzza Lethecus: the one a couple of years back, or i don't have the feeling present anymore
Wol Euler: I'm still looking at "passivity"
Wol Euler: that word is usually used as an insult to onself
Wol Euler: meaning "I am not doing things that I should do"
Wol Euler: what should you do now, here, Yaku?
Yakuzza Lethecus: Well, in principle we can just live as before.
Yakuzza Lethecus: I wonder if i should decide to be unhappy about it, i wonder about hour colorful baloons for the 3 year anniversary.
Yakuzza Lethecus: I believe happyness and unhappyness is a tacit decision.
    Wol Euler: yes
Wol Euler: I still wonder what you think you might (should) do that you are not doing?
Wol Euler: how could you give practical help the Japanese today?
Yakuzza Lethecus: not really, of course not i think it would even be non helpful
Wol Euler: so if there is no way to be of help, are you being passive?
Wol Euler: what would "active" mean then?
Yakuzza Lethecus: Yes, i might shouldn't call it passive, i am maybe just confused.
Wol Euler: to me the word has very negative associations which are simply not appropriate here, they don't fit the fact
Wol Euler: if the problem were on the North Sea coast, an hour's drive from you, then it would be different. There you would be able to be of real practical use
    Wol Euler: anyway.

    --BELL--

Yakuzza Lethecus: thx very much wol!
    Wol Euler smiles
    Wol Euler: my pleasure
Wol Euler: enjoy the weeekend, yaku.
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye
    Wol Euler: bfn
