[07:09] Storm Nordwind: I find it fun moving in 3D. Which is why I hardly ever teleport in Second Life!

[07:09] Santoshima Resident: only fly from cushion to cushion

[07:10] Storm Nordwind: I wonder if the cushion is the most ubiquitous object in SL ;-)
[07:10] Santoshima Resident: ok, chairs are involved as well
[07:10] Santoshima Resident: but there is a bounty of cushions to be sure
[07:12] Storm Nordwind: It's never too late to learn how to walk ;-) What used to be called "Power walking" in SL can be fun. And very useful for going up spiral stairs and the like.

[07:12] Santoshima Resident: i think a fast graphic card might help in that effort
[07:13] Storm Nordwind: Ah. Yes ... but... I remember learning these things with a slow computer and with an internet link less than 1% of the speed i have now. So you might find it possible.

[07:14] Santoshima Resident: truly, it becomes habit to move in a certain way. {not just in sl}
[07:14] Storm Nordwind: But, I imagine it scarcely registers on your to-do list, which is probably full of more important and more interesting stuff

[07:22] Storm Nordwind: It's wise to know your limits. And wise to know which ones you can break, or extend, and which you really need to keep to. :)

[07:31] Storm Nordwind: Ah, but you have more than one torch to pass!
[07:32] Riddle Sideways: literally :) we had a party on beach and 12 tiki-torches
[07:32] Storm Nordwind chuckles
[07:32] Riddle Sideways: but, there were many deep conversions that were teaching us oldsters much
[07:33] Riddle Sideways: noting how much the young have taken over the educating
[07:33] Storm Nordwind: You mean that the young don't listen as much as they should? ;-)
[07:34] Riddle Sideways: no. meant that they have more to say than listen
[07:35] Riddle Sideways: new ideas, concepts and ways of saying that this old person needs to hear

[07:36] Riddle Sideways: (back to topic) the shifting of motivated to teach to one of motivated to learn more

[07:38] Riddle Sideways: was told that those who can no longer 'do' become teachers
[07:38] Storm Nordwind: And those who can no longer teach, teach the teachers to teach
[07:38] Riddle Sideways: yet, there is new ways to learn
[07:39] Storm Nordwind: And those who can no longer teach the teachers to teach, they become politicians. ;-) Allegedly.

[07:44] Storm Nordwind: I suspect there are very often new ways to do things, and to think things. Including new ways to learn. I try and consider on their own merits though. New is only sometimes better, I find. It's easy to get enamored of the new and miss the jewel you're already holding.

[07:48] Riddle Sideways: was not thinking 'new' as much as 'extensions' a going on further than last generation took it
[07:49] Storm Nordwind: Another thing... I love to learn. And I've always tried to do so. But sometimes I find there is such a thing as too much learning, at least when it gets in the way of doing and applying what is learnt. Rather like the notion that information is only as good as the use you can put it to.
[07:50] Storm Nordwind: Life is short, and art long, opportunity fleeting, experience perilous, and decision difficult.
