[07:04] Storm Nordwind: Good morning San :)
[07:05] Santoshima Resident: good morning Storm :)
[07:05] Santoshima Resident: how're you?
[07:05] Storm Nordwind: Pretty good thank you. And you?
[07:05] Santoshima Resident: just waking up, very well thanks
[07:05] Storm Nordwind: You and me both! ;-)
[07:05] Santoshima Resident: hooray!
[07:06] Santoshima Resident: how is your summer?
[07:07] Santoshima Resident: {sorry, have not been waking early enough to come here thursday mornings to see you }
[07:07] Storm Nordwind: The weather is not too hot - which is good.
[07:07] Santoshima Resident: yes,
[07:07] Storm Nordwind: And no worries about not waking up. There have been several "only-me" sessions - which I also enjoy :)
[07:07] Santoshima Resident: :)
[07:08] Santoshima Resident: are you still involved with the on-line flight things?
[07:08] Storm Nordwind: Yes. there is quite a community there
[07:08] Santoshima Resident: very good
[07:09] Storm Nordwind: I find it fun moving in 3D. Which is why I hardly ever teleport in Second Life!
[07:09] Santoshima Resident: ahha
[07:09] Santoshima Resident: i hardly ever walk in sl
[07:09] Santoshima Resident: only fly from cushion to cushion
[07:09] Storm Nordwind chuckles
[07:10] Santoshima Resident: the early movement lessons didn't take
[07:10] Santoshima Resident: sadly
[07:10] Storm Nordwind: I wonder if the cushion is the most ubiquitous object in SL ;-)
[07:10] Santoshima Resident: ok, chairs are involved as well
[07:10] Santoshima Resident: but there is a bounty of cushions to be sure
[07:12] Storm Nordwind: It's never too late to learn how to walk ;-) What used to be called "Power walking" in SL can be fun. And very useful for going up spiral stairs and the like.
[07:12] Santoshima Resident: thatk you for the encouragement
[07:12] Santoshima Resident: i think a fast graphic card might help in that effort
[07:13] Storm Nordwind: Ah. Yes ... but... I remember learning these things with a slow computer and with an internet link less than 1% of the speed i have now. So you might find it possible.
[07:13] Santoshima Resident: ok.
[07:14] Santoshima Resident: truly, it becomes habit to move in a certain way. {not just in sl}
[07:14] Storm Nordwind: But, I imagine it scarcely registers on your to-do list, which is probably full of more important and more interesting stuff
[07:14] Santoshima Resident: i will make an effort! it's now on the list
[07:15] Storm Nordwind smiles
[07:15] Santoshima Resident: interesting stuff includes buidling raised beds for a garden
[07:16] Santoshima Resident: 2 more days of construction
[07:16] Storm Nordwind: Good morning Riddle!
[07:16] Santoshima Resident: hi riddle :)
[07:16] Riddle Sideways: Hello, friends
[07:16] Storm Nordwind: Back-breaking stuff for me, San!
[07:17] Santoshima Resident: aww
[07:17] Riddle Sideways: ?
[07:17] Storm Nordwind: How are you today my old friend Riddle?
[07:19] Riddle Sideways: feeling old
[07:19] Riddle Sideways: :)
[07:19] Santoshima Resident: oh :)
[07:19] Riddle Sideways: back pain
[07:19] Storm Nordwind: Ah... yes, I sympathize. been getting that too!
[07:20] Riddle Sideways: not motivated to move around much
[07:20] Storm Nordwind: So all the young whippersnappers in your area are safe from your walking cane for the time being? ;-)
[07:21] Riddle Sideways: was at a Big Sur place named Jade Cove and hopping rock to rock playing in tide pools
[07:21] Riddle Sideways: reaching an inch past what back wanted to reach
[07:22] Storm Nordwind: It's wise to know your limits. And wise to know which ones you can break, or extend, and which you really need to keep to. :)
[07:23] Riddle Sideways: that would = wisdom
[07:24] Riddle Sideways: at least have read that
[07:24] Storm Nordwind chuckles
[07:24] Storm Nordwind: yes, allegedly! ;)
[07:25] Storm Nordwind: But console yourself that you are leaving space for the youngsters to take your place. ;)
[07:25] Riddle Sideways: am working on that, but is hard to admit to self
[07:26] Storm Nordwind: One finds other things to be good at, perhaps
[07:27] Riddle Sideways: hopefully
[07:27] Storm Nordwind: You still make others smile and feel comfortable with your presence. We appreciate that!
[07:27] Riddle Sideways: so does the Storm and San
[07:28] Santoshima Resident: ty, riddle
[07:30] Riddle Sideways: Son got married and that was a lifecycle edge to denote a passing of torch
[07:31] Storm Nordwind: Ah, but you have more than one torch to pass!
[07:32] Riddle Sideways: literally :) we had a party on beach and 12 tiki-torches
[07:32] Storm Nordwind chuckles
[07:32] Riddle Sideways: but, there were many deep conversions that were teaching us oldsters much
[07:33] Riddle Sideways: noting how much the young have taken over the educating
[07:33] Storm Nordwind: You mean that the young don't listen as much as they should? ;-)
[07:34] Riddle Sideways: no. meant that they have more to say than listen
[07:35] Riddle Sideways: new ideas, concepts and ways of saying that this old person needs to hear
[07:35] Santoshima Resident: shifting roles
[07:35] Riddle Sideways: yep
[07:36] Riddle Sideways: (back to topic) the shifting of motivated to teach to one of motivated to learn more
[07:37] Santoshima Resident: :)
[07:38] Riddle Sideways: was told that those who can no longer 'do' become teachers
[07:38] Storm Nordwind: And those who can no longer teach, teach the teachers to teach
[07:38] Riddle Sideways: yet, there is new ways to learn
[07:39] Storm Nordwind: And those who can no longer teach the teachers to teach, they become politicians. ;-) Allegedly.
[07:39] Riddle Sideways: :))
[07:44] Storm Nordwind: I suspect there are very often new ways to do things, and to think things. Including new ways to learn. I try and consider on their own merits though. New is only sometimes better, I find. It's easy to get enamored of the new and miss the jewel you're already holding.
[07:44] Santoshima Resident: well said
[07:46] Riddle Sideways: yes
[07:48] Riddle Sideways: was not thinking 'new' as much as 'extensions' a going on further than last generation took it
[07:49] Storm Nordwind: Another thing... I love to learn. And I've always tried to do so. But sometimes I find there is such a thing as too much learning, at least when it gets in the way of doing and applying what is learnt. Rather like the notion that information is only as good as the use you can put it to.
[07:50] Storm Nordwind: Life is short, and art long, opportunity fleeting, experience perilous, and decision difficult.
[07:51] Riddle Sideways: Hi Cat
[07:51] Storm Nordwind: Hullo Cat!
[07:51] Santoshima Resident: good morning, Cat :)
[07:51] Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi, sry so late rl is very busy :)
[07:52] Riddle Sideways: common theme lately :)
[07:52] Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
[07:55] Riddle Sideways: speaking of which... Must go be RL now

[07:55] Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye Riddle :)
[07:55] Storm Nordwind: Good to see you Riddle!

[07:57] Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye San :)
[07:57] Storm Nordwind: Bye for now San!
[07:58] Catrinamonblue Resident: I feel almost as if it was rather futile to come :) being so late I missed the conversation
[07:58] Catrinamonblue Resident: I will have to read it later :)
[07:58] Storm Nordwind: Oh well. No problem. Your presence is itself a contribution :)
[07:59] Catrinamonblue Resident: smiles
[07:59] Catrinamonblue Resident: thank you
[07:59] Catrinamonblue Resident: I guess I will go and dael with the house work needing to be done
[08:00] Storm Nordwind: I too have much work to do.
[08:00] Storm Nordwind: Namaste
[08:00] Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye for now :)
