Wol Euler was guardian and commenter for this session.

    Wol Euler: hallo bert
Bertram Jacobus: heyy wol - good morning ! :-))
Bertram Jacobus: very nice to see you - i was wondering whether somebody would appear at all for this session (!) ... :-)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Bertram Jacobus: and am still curious whether some others will come yet (did i express this correctly?)
Wol Euler: the "yet" is wrong, because you ask about the future but it refers to the past
    Wol Euler: yet = schon
Bertram Jacobus: how would i express that then, please correctly ?
Wol Euler: I am still curious whether some others will come :)
Wol Euler: that was fine, only the "yet" was wrong
Bertram Jacobus: ah ! ty ! i hope you don't mind me too much trying to get some english lessons from you now and then (?) ! ... :-)
    Wol Euler: of course not
Bertram Jacobus: wonderful ! tyvm - so kind - as always ... :-)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: so, how are you getting on after the retreat?
Bertram Jacobus: hm - what shall i say ? hm - sorting my thoughts (now) ...
Bertram Jacobus: there are some quite heavy things in my life currently which must be handled ... and i can say, that it seems as if i would be able to see a bit more light in those ... so that is nice . and
    Wol Euler listens
Bertram Jacobus: mostly, the strongest impression from the retreat is, that the awareness is strenghtened
Bertram Jacobus: and the idea how much it is including everything - is also quite present
    Wol Euler nods.
Bertram Jacobus: and that helps me a lot. that's also the way i experience the spiritual path : by insights, working with it and then , whne it's optimal : realize some of it or even all ...
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Bertram Jacobus: my way of going. it's like a puzzle : it gets more and more complete part by part ...
Bertram Jacobus: and how about you ?
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: that's a nice image

Wol Euler: well, what to say. My practice has totally collapsed, again.
Wol Euler: the time I spend in SL and at work is revealed to me as a kind of mask, or a shield that I hide behind
    --BELL--
Bertram Jacobus: which form of practice would you like to do ?
Wol Euler: to tell myself that everything is fine in my life: as long as those two are OK then I cannot really be a loser.
Wol Euler: I'd be happy if I could make myself do what we did at the retreat, what I did on my own during hte silent day even.
Wol Euler: it seemed easy and natural there, to sit and just breathe for a few minutes.
Wol Euler: doing that at home is somehow so damned dificult.
Wol Euler: there is so much else that "must" be done.
Wol Euler: I suppose I'm feeling htat I don't direct my own life.
Bertram Jacobus: i see. but that's normal : changing habits can be difficult. but working on it is possible and brings changes , even in every moment and even without that we notice it sometimes , for a while ...
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: which is why I don't despair
Wol Euler: I know that it can be fixed, that the things I want to do are actually rather simple.
Wol Euler: I just have to sort my life out so that I have ten minutes and a cushion :)
Bertram Jacobus: and there is a nice lesson in tibetan buddhism : that is dropping the so called "mundane dharmas" - which means : "things" ,. aspects, which are seen as relative (and not absolute)
    Wol Euler: good morning Alf!
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: the unreality of real things is something that Pema keeps promoting :)
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: woly-moly :)
Bertram Jacobus: they are : win and loss (!) - being praised or dispraised, joy and suffering and another similar thing to that praise / dispraise aspect - sry , can't quote that better ...
Bertram Jacobus: and : hiya alfi ! :-)
    Alfred Kelberry: oi, berty
Wol Euler: there's a famous poem by Rudyard Kipling called "If" which is relevant here, let me look that up
Alfred Kelberry: good to see you *not* working on saturday, woly :)
Wol Euler: well, I hate to disappoint you but: I have to go in for about an hour to meet the boss, and a full day tomorrow.
Alfred Kelberry: "unreality of real things" - it does seem this way at times :)
Wol Euler: Kipling -> "If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same;"
    Alfred Kelberry: oh...
Bertram Jacobus: was he influenced from buddhism ?
Wol Euler: very possibly. He was brought up in India
Bertram Jacobus: oh i see ...
Wol Euler: but in many respects he was a classical (typical) Englishman of the colonial period
    --BELL--
Wol Euler: Bert's line about win and loss reminded me of that.
Wol Euler: Actually, it came up in my memory already during hte retreat when Yaku was talking about his successes and failures
    Bertram Jacobus: yess
Wol Euler: we were talking about life after retreating, Alf.
Alfred Kelberry: kipling's a well traveled man :)
Wol Euler: I'm finding it really hard to do here what was so easy and natural there.
Alfred Kelberry: *looks at his india travel route*
    Wol Euler smiles and nods.
    Alfred Kelberry: like what?
Wol Euler: simple things like finding time to meditate even.
Alfred Kelberry: maybe it's clinging? it needs time :)
Alfred Kelberry: um, did you take a vacation during the retreat?
Wol Euler: i took some time off from being me, yes.
Wol Euler: and it did me a lot of good.
Bertram Jacobus: i think and feel : in a way we are all "aufgehoben" (sry i don't know the english word, is it reversed?) - in the universe. we are born and we will die. meanwhile we may see that suffering shall be as few as possible. that's all i think. and may be bring and increase joy as much as possible ...
Alfred Kelberry: it usually does :)
Wol Euler: but here I am surrounded by people and things that want me to be my usual self
Wol Euler: and I collude in suppressing that alternative me
Alfred Kelberry: we want you to be you, woly :)
    Wol Euler: awww <3
Wol Euler: so do I, alf.
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Wol Euler: the retreat me was a better one than the working one sometimes is.
Wol Euler: google says that aufgehoben means "repealed" in the sense of laws that are struck down.
Bertram Jacobus: to me compromises are really ok. agin like the middle path which the buddha recommended. being me and being for others sometimes what helps them
Alfred Kelberry: it's such a joy when you get to see "being" in a person you know :)
Bertram Jacobus: but i must admit : i try to avoid bad companies ...
    Wol Euler nods.
    Alfred Kelberry: we all do
Alfred Kelberry: some people seem to attract bad companies, though...
Bertram Jacobus: and even more : sometimes i decide to leave it even when it's related to my work situation (!) ...

Alfred Kelberry: i hear many stories about how horrible sl is, yet i've only seen maybe couple of griefers durign my whole stay here
Wol Euler: compromise, yes, I accept that too willingly. Compromise means that nobody loses.
    Alfred Kelberry: berty, leave what?
Wol Euler: Alf, I bet you hear those stories from people who aren't residents.
Bertram Jacobus: quit jobs if it gets too heavy alf
Alfred Kelberry: um, i don't know. i don't know those people well :)
Alfred Kelberry: heavy in what sense?
Bertram Jacobus: yes : the so called win win situations :-)
    Wol Euler: right
Bertram Jacobus: when work is not supporting my spiritual path anymore and hinders more
    Wol Euler nods.
Alfred Kelberry: berty, then it's not leaving really, it's going your path
Wol Euler: I find that very responsible, Bert. A radical taking-seriously of your own ideas.
Bertram Jacobus: and what are the stories about people who are not residents wol ? i don't know them
Wol Euler: Alf said he hears stories about Sl being full of griefers
    Bertram Jacobus: yes
Wol Euler: just all newsmedia articles talk about cybersex
Alfred Kelberry: not just that, about abusive people, sex, etc
Wol Euler: well, of course that exists!
Wol Euler: because - guess what? - we are people.
Bertram Jacobus: ah i see now what you meant ty
Wol Euler: we do what people do.
    --BELL--
Alfred Kelberry: it's related to your comment on avoiding bad companies, berty. i seem to be either lucky or somehow avoiding them well :)
Bertram Jacobus: in my life, it seems as i have to free myself again and again from such situations ...
    Wol Euler nods.
Bertram Jacobus: and in a way even that becomes more and more a habit, a pattern - not bad ...
Wol Euler: not all habits are bad ...
Alfred Kelberry: heh, woly. "cybersex" reminded me of that movie with stalonne and bullock in the future - remember? :)
    Wol Euler: ah, yes.
Alfred Kelberry: "would you like to have sex with me?" :)
Wol Euler: no idea what it was called, but yes.
Alfred Kelberry: "ok, put this helmet on - let's start" :)
    Wol Euler giggles.
Alfred Kelberry: maybe it's the future :)
Bertram Jacobus: i have a "horny computer" gesture (!) ... lol (hope you all can hear it) (?) :o)
Bertram Jacobus: Oooo! Oooo! I am soo horny right now.. Do you want to have pixel sex with me?
    Wol Euler: :)
Wol Euler: didn't hear that, I am in starbucks and have the speakers off
Wol Euler: but I can imagine
Alfred Kelberry: hear? oh, no... i turned all sound off when i was making a voice recording :/
Bertram Jacobus: ah damn - but i can give it to you then you can listen to it's beautyful sound later ... ;-)
Wol Euler: I'll ask you to repeat it at a suitable moment
Alfred Kelberry: come on, woly - let them hear! :)
    Wol Euler: heh
Alfred Kelberry: thank you, berty :)
    Wol Euler: ty
Bertram Jacobus: lol you're welcome ;-)
Alfred Kelberry: ok, turn the sound on, woly. i'm going to play it now :)
    Wol Euler: go ahead
Bertram Jacobus: so - what is important ? i would like to put that question. and give even an answer with it (!) : i learned once in only four words all which is "nessecairy" : "always help, never harm" - that can be enough i find
Alfred Kelberry: um... i activated it, but don't hear anything
Bertram Jacobus: but alternative answers would be very fine and appreciated as well
Wol Euler: I think I do that, if I may be so bold. I certainly try to. But it doesn't help me to deal with myself.
Bertram Jacobus: ah - you must click them right, then open and preview alf - that's a way they work
Alfred Kelberry: berty, i think it's what buddhism mean by kindness
    Alfred Kelberry: ah, ok...
Alfred Kelberry: Oooo! Oooo! I am soo horny right now.. Do you want to have pixel sex with me?
    Alfred Kelberry: haha
Bertram Jacobus: you shall do that also for yourself wol ! ... not only for others (!) that would be a big misunderstanding ...
    Alfred Kelberry: no sound, though
Alfred Kelberry: Oooo! Oooo! I am soo horny right now.. Do you want to have pixel sex with me?
Bertram Jacobus: hehe alf you succedded . and when it's open, you can also see or set, what the trigger for the gesture is. activated, that then works with it
Bertram Jacobus: i hear the sound ... hm
    Alfred Kelberry: ah, it's ok
Alfred Kelberry: guess i can imagine :)
Alfred Kelberry: so, woly... how about this pixel thing with me? :)
    Wol Euler laughs.
Bertram Jacobus: tz - may be you have put off some of the sound settings (?) there are several ones, but i don't know where at the 2.0 viewer ... sry -
Wol Euler: um, sorrry, no offence intended.
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Wol Euler: the offer is very sweet, and thank you for that.
Alfred Kelberry: um, you're welcome. it's from my cardboardy heart :)
    Wol Euler: I could tell.
Alfred Kelberry: i don't really use gestures and animations much, berty
Wol Euler only uses her own
Alfred Kelberry: maybe i should start a "no animation" group :)
Bertram Jacobus: me not either. only at some dancefloors sometimes ...
    Alfred Kelberry: promote basic goodness
Bertram Jacobus: there it helps sometimes to support the athmosphere and fun ...
    --BELL--
    Wol Euler: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: moo :)
Bertram Jacobus: hehe - i love that cow :o)
    Bertram Jacobus: [oops] ;-)
    Alfred Kelberry: she looks friendly
Wol Euler: I thought it was the linux penguin at first
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: hmm, she's supposed to dance
    Alfred Kelberry: ha!
Alfred Kelberry: you have it too, berty? :)
    Wol Euler: heheheh
Alfred Kelberry: ok, she dances for you :)
Alfred Kelberry: maybe it's cause i'm tiny
    Wol Euler: that might be
Bertram Jacobus: yes my cow is well-behaved
    Wol Euler: hello edwynly
    Alfred Kelberry: tea time...
    Bertram Jacobus: yes ...
Wol Euler: and work for me
Bertram Jacobus: okay - ty for your company ! ... :-)
Wol Euler: enjoy the day my daers.
Wol Euler: see you at 7am
Bertram Jacobus: same wol - ty
    Bertram Jacobus: yess
Bertram Jacobus: tea time ? where do you live alf ? if i may ask ... (?)
Bertram Jacobus: oh - you seem to be afk ... then i'll leave, too - cu later alf - and have a good time plz ! *wave* ... :-)
