The Guardian for this meeting which celebrated Aphrodite's birthday (!) was Eliza Madrigal. The comments are by Eliza. :) Due to following TIme Sessions at 6AM, this log often has a great number of goodbyes. I hope that no one minds that I flipped around the order of the log in this case, but felt to light particularly beautiful spots...

Baeric remarks just after Bruce says goodbye and 'dies laughing' at the same time...

Baeric Constantine: PS Bruce, as you have just died, please say a blessing.... kidding
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Zen Arado: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: he;s just left us entirely
Eliza Madrigal: SL *is* sort of like an 'in between' place...
Alfred Kelberry: i'm sure he'll be back :)
Aphrodite Macbain: between what and what?
Eliza Madrigal: dreams on one side, 'rl' on the other...
    Aphrodite Macbain: living and dying?
    Aphrodite Macbain: ah. nice
Eliza Madrigal: imagination and intention... slightly more tangible than daydreams
Alfred Kelberry: for me sl is a continuation of rl
Zen Arado: bardo or purgatory or limbo?
    Baeric Constantine: and me Alfred
Aphrodite Macbain: Bleu I love your images in the exhibition
    Eliza Madrigal: suspension
Bertram Jacobus: for me also, part of it alf
    Bleu Oleander: thank you Aph
Eliza Madrigal: :) Zen, maybe epoche
    Eliza Madrigal: heheh
Eliza Madrigal: we 'suspend' our disbelief...
    Eliza Madrigal: and play :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: we play
    Zen Arado: that'll do :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: that's all
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
Alfred Kelberry: it's like when you talk on a phone, you don't say "oh, it's phonelife" :)
Eliza Madrigal: the grounds of play
Eliza Madrigal giggles and detests the phone
Zen Arado: still don't know how to Save myself :(
Zen Arado: or Save Zen I mean

    Bleu Oleander: phones are great
Eliza Madrigal: for some reason I don't mind skype...
Eliza Madrigal: maybe because one turns it on and off
    Zen Arado: gives one control
Eliza Madrigal: makes themselves available, etc... but guess phones can be used that way too :)
Bleu Oleander: imagine if we only had text communication and then someone invented the phone
Alfred Kelberry: virtual worlds is a new technology. people are not used to it, yet. unlike to phones or tvs :)
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, nice idea Bleu...
Eliza Madrigal: erasing the pre-history of the phone
Zen Arado: we might hesitate to use it maybe
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Eliza Madrigal: start from scratch :)
Bleu Oleander: it would seem amazing!
Eliza Madrigal: wow... makes me want to call someone
    Eliza Madrigal: brb
    Alfred Kelberry: :)

    TYPO MAGIC SETS IN

Zen Arado: people were sacred of the new invention of the phone too
    Eliza Madrigal: hahahha
    Zen Arado: scared *
    Eliza Madrigal: spooky
    Zen Arado: spooky typo
    Aphrodite Macbain: sacred phones...
Eliza Madrigal: scared of sacred communications
Aphrodite Macbain: connections to another world
Bleu Oleander: what we don't like about the phone is when it takes over our life
    Aphrodite Macbain: like email
Bleu Oleander: but lovely to use when we direct it
Alfred Kelberry: i think our grandkids won't see much difference between rl or virtual worlds :)
Eliza Madrigal: yes.... when we feel trapped by it..
Zen Arado: like people take cellphones in their coffin...just in case
Eliza Madrigal: much like the 'roles' discussions too
Aphrodite Macbain: that goes for almost anything
    Alfred Kelberry: zen :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Zen
Zen Arado: but they do !
Aphrodite Macbain: what would they say?
Bleu Oleander: that would be the one place I wouldn't want a telemarketer :)
Aphrodite Macbain: If they could". Hold on!"

Eliza Madrigal: I was reading about the idea of 'sacred spaces'... about places that one has inside and goes to in the midst of fear, etc ...

Aphrodite Macbain: I've changed my mind
    Bertram Jacobus: hey eos :-)
Zen Arado: hello - I wonder if you would have a shovel or spade handy?
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Eos :)
Fefonz Quan: (bye all, leaves quitely)
Alfred Kelberry: zen, how about batteries? :)
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi!
    Bleu Oleander: bye Fef
Alfred Kelberry: eos the canon :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: hee hee Zen
    Zen Arado: bye Fef
Eliza Madrigal: sacred grounds... places of power
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Fef :) Thanks for coming!
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye! fef
    Aphrodite Macbain: safe places
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
    Zen Arado: Hi Eos :)
    Bertram Jacobus: bye fefonz
    Eliza Madrigal: :) shelters
Alfred Kelberry: zen, a teleporter would be nice
Aphrodite Macbain: any place can be a sacred space if you make it so
    Alfred Kelberry: aph :)
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: special spot?
Aphrodite Macbain: TP me out of this coffin!
Zen Arado: 'sacred' is hard to define
Bleu Oleander: gtg, bye all and HB Aph :)))
Eliza Madrigal: Bye BLeu, have a great day
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye! Bleu
    Bertram Jacobus: bye bleu
    Zen Arado: bye Bleu
Alfred Kelberry: yes, a special spot here by aph's side :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks!
    Eliza Madrigal: sweet spot
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: nice
    Aphrodite Macbain grins at Alf
    Eos Amaterasu: where everything tunes
    Eliza Madrigal: mmm, nods...
Aphrodite Macbain: tunes in or out?
Zen Arado: sacredness doesn't depend on belief in God?
    Aphrodite Macbain: no
Eliza Madrigal: why should it zen?
    Eos Amaterasu: it's more immediate
    Eliza Madrigal: 'beyond belief'

    --BELL--

Aphrodite Macbain: but that's a good question. I shouldn't be so quick to say "no"

Zen Arado: what marks it out as sacred then?
Alfred Kelberry: i, for some reason, think of the fountain as "sacred" :)
Aphrodite Macbain: 90 seconds is sacred
Alfred Kelberry: it keeps the wisdom of many people :)

Eliza Madrigal: beyond belief, does imply belief, yes... so there is some intention there in the suspension ... in the setting apart...
Alfred Kelberry: *looks up at the bell*
Zen Arado: is anything sacred to an atheist?
Eliza Madrigal: yes, his or her non-belief

Aphrodite Macbain: Dedicated to or set apart for the worship of a deity. 2. Worthy of religious veneration: the sacred teachings of the Buddha. 3. Made or declared holy: sacred bread and wine. 4. Dedicated or devoted exclusively to a single use, purpose, or person: sacred to the memory of her sister; a private office sacred to the President. 5. Worthy of respect; venerable. 6. Of or relating to religious objects, rites, or practices. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Zen Arado: sorry for typing through your bells Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: :) @ 'my bells'
Zen Arado: your sacred bells :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
Eliza Madrigal: hehe... the bells, that still can ring...
    Eos Amaterasu listens
Eliza Madrigal: the bells mark the time... and the circle the space...
Alfred Kelberry: i think sacred is something that has a deep emotional involvement
Eliza Madrigal: and we bring the sacred
Zen Arado: was wondering about that word 'holy' in last night's discussion
Eliza Madrigal: or the sacred brings us?...
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes?

Eos Amaterasu: why are we here?
Zen Arado: Vast emptiness and nothing holy

    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Alfred Kelberry: like in case of the fountain for me, being the witness of countless hours of pab sessions, i think it's sacred :)
Eos Amaterasu: or just this 0.9 secs
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Zen Arado: yes - Alf - it is made sacred by us

    Aphrodite Macbain: invested with goodness
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Zen Arado: made special in some way
    Eliza Madrigal: appreciated
Eos Amaterasu: maybe also a mutual process
    Alfred Kelberry: beautiful, aph :)
    Eliza Madrigal: yes

Bertram Jacobus: i like holy . i don´t like sanctimonious. i think, one can consider all as holy. or parts
Aphrodite Macbain: because it is about virtue and goodness, isn't it?
    Zen Arado: preciousness
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Zen Arado: reverence
    Alfred Kelberry: "my precious" :)
Eos Amaterasu: beyond virtue and goodness as well
Aphrodite Macbain: what would you consider sanctimonious bert?

Eliza Madrigal: gift with no giver
    Aphrodite Macbain smiles at Eliza
    Alfred Kelberry: hmm, eliza :)
Bertram Jacobus: in german its called "scheinheilig" - that is a faked holyness
Zen Arado: playing a role of caring in a religious manner?
Aphrodite Macbain: ah. and how would one KNOW it was faked?
    Bertram Jacobus: yes. for example
    Eos Amaterasu: know your gut
    Aphrodite Macbain: hmmm
Eos Amaterasu: it may be hard to know your gut

Bertram Jacobus: with your experience, heart and knowledge - or one doesn´t . also ok

Aphrodite Macbain: I'm not fond of my gut
Eos Amaterasu: you're ultimately "the decider"
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eos Amaterasu: (that should cause panic)
    Eliza Madrigal: heheheh
Alfred Kelberry: maybe it's coming from corrupt church officials in the middle ages, berty :)
    Eos Amaterasu:
Aphrodite Macbain: not just the middle ages!
Aphrodite Macbain: right now, for instance
Alfred Kelberry: well, i suspect etymology of it in german is somewhere from those times
Zen Arado: sanctity comes from Saint in some way I think
Eos Amaterasu: maybe treat religion like clothes
    Zen Arado: Sainthood
Bertram Jacobus: ah - that was also already happening in the brahman society of the old india alf - i think, can happen everywhere and anytime
Aphrodite Macbain: you mean it's for show only?
Alfred Kelberry: berty, yes... not quite what i meant :)
Aphrodite Macbain: to fit in and have power
Bertram Jacobus: ah. i see - sry - misunderstood
Eliza Madrigal: what sort of power... surface power
    Alfred Kelberry: maybe a routine
Aphrodite Macbain: yes. to pretend to be something you're not in order to gain status and power
Eos Amaterasu: POO : power over others
    Eliza Madrigal: :) hahaha
Zen Arado: if you sanctify ground you make it sacred
Aphrodite Macbain: poo to you too
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: we have such deeply intellectual conversations..
Zen Arado: sorry - getting lost in definitions
Eos Amaterasu: Benevolent onto others : BOO!
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
Alfred Kelberry: foo - foo onto others
Aphrodite Macbain: soo - silly unto others
Eliza Madrigal: 'hallowed' ground is sacred... really...
    Eos Amaterasu oo's recursively
    Aphrodite Macbain: oops that suo

Eos Amaterasu: yeah, it can reconnect you with something
    Zen Arado: brb
Eos Amaterasu: I walk almost daily to such a "special spot"
Aphrodite Macbain: Soooo- what are people doing today. Creating your costumes I hope
Eos Amaterasu: it becomes special thru our interaction
Alfred Kelberry: eos, where is it?
    Aphrodite Macbain: here
    Alfred Kelberry: ah :)
Eos Amaterasu: the so-called Dingle Park in Halifax, NS
Zen Arado: ground can be cursed too
Aphrodite Macbain: what happens there Eos?
    Eos Amaterasu: I just walk
Eos Amaterasu: and sometimes stand still
Aphrodite Macbain: You make it sacred by walking there?
Eliza Madrigal has walked those grounds with Eos... truly beautiful....
Eos Amaterasu: it's a great, more natural, environment to be
Zen Arado: isn;t it just a belief that makes it sacred?
Eos Amaterasu: yes, I find I'm somewhat mythologizing it, over the years
Alfred Kelberry: eos, Sir Sandford Fleming Park?
    Eos Amaterasu: Yes, Alf!
    Eliza Madrigal: finding the aliveness....
    Alfred Kelberry: ok :)
Eos Amaterasu: and it finding you
    --BELL--
    Eliza Madrigal: uncovering
Aphrodite Macbain: I find it is always more sacred in nature - away from the bustle of culture
    Eos Amaterasu: different rich timelessness
Alfred Kelberry: yes... especially the mountains
    Aphrodite Macbain: or the sea
Eliza Madrigal: it does seem to be easier to reconnect in surroundings closer to beginnings... untampered with.... yet once there, all there....
Aphrodite Macbain: that's why I like gardens. A prototype for paradise
Eos Amaterasu: bringing that wilderness into our daily culture
    Alfred Kelberry: aph :)
Eliza Madrigal: even into virtual spaces :)
Aphrodite Macbain: uncultivated gardens are perhaps even more powerful
Eos Amaterasu: like this one :-)
Aphrodite Macbain: the one we're sitting in?
Eos Amaterasu looks at the champagne punch bowl
Alfred Kelberry: maybe we should have a session out in the park one day :)
Eliza Madrigal: yes, this well seems to be drawing from rather deep waters today... celebrating
Alfred Kelberry: see how it's different (if it is)
Aphrodite Macbain: Hmm Just discovered the punch bowl. Cheers!
    Eliza Madrigal smiles @ Aph
Eliza Madrigal: Like that idea Aph...
Eliza Madrigal: we've have been considering virtual retreats...
Aphrodite Macbain: which one is that liza?
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes?
Eliza Madrigal: (well the fountain can be seen as a well)
Aphrodite Macbain: a reteat in a garden?
Eliza Madrigal: we bring our own sense to things
    Zen Arado: nice idea
Aphrodite Macbain: yes- albeit a shallow one
Eos Amaterasu: in terms of time, a one-day retreat?
Aphrodite Macbain: could aslo be a bubbling spring drawing waters up from a deep aquafer below
Eliza Madrigal: or a few days... a few hrs at a time....?
Eos Amaterasu: I think key thing wouild be for avatars to meet regularly
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Bertram Jacobus: ah sry - but i don´t want to miss the chance to show you :
    Aphrodite Macbain: like now?
Bertram Jacobus: whaow ! first time that i got such a fake site - would you have recognized it as one (!!?) : (

(bert gives a link but as it is a fake/con site I wouldn't want anyone to skim the session and click unknowingly and be taken so removed it)

Alfred Kelberry: is it safe to click? :)
Aphrodite Macbain: should I open it? is it safe?
    Alfred Kelberry: hehe
    Aphrodite Macbain: snap!
Eos Amaterasu: Re the virtual retreat: so a bit more intense version of what regular sessions here offer
Bertram Jacobus: click yes but not ... how are the words for it ? ah - log in (don´t, for sure not)+
Eliza Madrigal: a diff environment can bring different senses to things... perhaps a diff sort of pace and intention...
Zen Arado: looks very good Bert
Eliza Madrigal: tricky site Bert, yes
Aphrodite Macbain: what would make it more intense ?
Bertram Jacobus: i never heared, that only a url opening could damage something
Eos Amaterasu: I'm thinking analogously to RL retreat
    Alfred Kelberry: berty, it can
Eos Amaterasu: being more present together more often in more media
Bertram Jacobus: it came on a sl group and they said it gave a 2500 L$ bonus only today for verifying one´s account (!)
Eos Amaterasu: and having more talk and drop sessions
Aphrodite Macbain: hmm. perhaps. Although simetimes I spend hours in SL
Zen Arado: using Skype for instance?
Eliza Madrigal: When Adams and I set apart time, during the first retreat because we couldn't go and yet wanted to feel 'part' ...
Aphrodite Macbain: what a good idea
Eliza Madrigal: we held the idea of letting go...
Eliza Madrigal: we sat for stretches and then spoke a little here and there...
Aphrodite Macbain: what happened when you did?
Eliza Madrigal: and others came at various points...
    Aphrodite Macbain: let go
Aphrodite Macbain: was the conversation diffrent?
    Eliza Madrigal: quieter...
Zen Arado: often woners why pab people don't meditate together more often
Eliza Madrigal: like a whsiper, sort of...
Bertram Jacobus: tey do zen ! in the hikari and buddha center groups for example
    Eos Amaterasu tunes
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I sat with Liza and Calvino in an hour meditation last week. It was very peaceful
Zen Arado: well - I didn't see any of them there
Eos Amaterasu: actually this past tuesday I sat alone in my GOC session for an hour - wonderful!
Eliza Madrigal: yes... maybe setting the time and the intention and a diff environment... perhaps with cal and liza too
Bertram Jacobus: ah sry - i only read "people"
Zen Arado: ah ok I go to that one too when I can but not many others
Eliza Madrigal: :) read that Eos... 'the dude abides'
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Eliza Madrigal: it was a rich session :)
Aphrodite Macbain: we didn't say much. Liza did most of the talking as she guided us through it
Eliza Madrigal: yes she's wonderful at that Aph
Bertram Jacobus: may be pab is so special - not so much stress on meditation here, on lnger meditation periods especially ...
Eliza Madrigal: in true 'play as being' style, we wouldnt set an intention for what it may be like
Aphrodite Macbain: have you attened her sessions Eliza?
Zen Arado: I go to her Monday sesshion but can't atm because I go to a videoconference at that tiem
    Eliza Madrigal: yes Aph
Eliza Madrigal: have attended a few in the beginning

Aphrodite Macbain: I have the hardest time not "setting an intention"
Eos Amaterasu: drop them as they come
Zen Arado: think we all have Aph
Aphrodite Macbain: I always feel we need to clear on where we're heading
Eliza Madrigal: well, intention to set apart the time ... the space...
Eos Amaterasu: no way to be clear on where I'm heading
    --BELL--
Zen Arado: and drop everything else that comes up....
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Alfred Kelberry: *looks up at the bell*

Aphrodite Macbain whispers : I'm off to eat my birthday breakfast. See you all later. Thanks for helping me celebrate! Bye!
Bertram Jacobus: i´ll leave. may be all beings be happy plz. and ty all for the talk and company !
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bertram Jacobus: bye aph ... ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: Have a marvelous birthday Aphrodite
    Eos Amaterasu: Happy Birthday Aphrodite!
    Zen Arado: bye Aphro
Eliza Madrigal: thanks for celebrating with us :)
Alfred Kelberry: aph, enjoy it :)
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Bert, be happy and well :)

    Bertram Jacobus: ty ...

    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Zen Arado: I am too :)

Now back to the beginning, and the 'switcheroo'

    Fefonz Quan: the switcherew
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: like... magic
Bertram Jacobus: hello everybody - which meeting was that before ? ;-)
    Baeric Constantine: prestidigitationally
Zen Arado: Zen wants a nice coffin :)
    Bleu Oleander: Pema's Time sessions
    Fefonz Quan: Time session Bert
Eliza Madrigal: it looks like we're in the same place at the same time
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bert :)

Aphrodite Macbain: Can anyone tell me how to bring somethingfrom the computer into their inventory. I'm trying to bring a photograph from italy and put it on a bill board
    Eliza Madrigal: under the surface...
    Eliza Madrigal: time :)
Bruce Mowbray: Ty'll need to upload it, Aph. . . costs 10L.

Sharry Ragu: true.. it could be file/upload.. :))
    Aphrodite Macbain: oh dear
Bruce Mowbray: In V2, it's Build, then Upload.

Aphrodite Macbain: So where do I go to upload?
Sharry Ragu: so much for consistancy :))
Bruce Mowbray: Hand me your computer, Aph. I'll do it for you.
    Aphrodite Macbain grins at Bruce

    Aphrodite Macbain: Client?
    Alfred Kelberry: sl viewer
