The Guardian for this meeting was Lia Rikugun. The comments are by Lia Rikugun.

I visited SL from the operating system ubuntu for the first time, and it worked very well. I was a little excited about this :). The viewer was completely different to the one I used before, had to get accustomed to that. We talk about different SL viewers.

    [13:01] Wol Euler: hello freud
    [13:01] Wol Euler: hello lia
    [13:02] Freud Jungsten: osiyo
[13:02] Lia Rikugun: helllo wol and freud
[13:02] Lia Rikugun: (i am in SL with a different viwer from ubuntu so exciting!! :))
[13:02] Freud Jungsten: I run METAbot from time to time.
    [13:03] Wol Euler grins.
[13:03] Lia Rikugun: it is a completely different feeling, have to get used to it
[13:03] Wol Euler: can you describe how it feels? its "differentness"?
    [13:04] Lia Rikugun: :)
[13:04] Lia Rikugun: the chat box is different
[13:04] Lia Rikugun: but I find my way around
[13:04] Lia Rikugun: so how have you two been
[13:04] Freud Jungsten: Well.... if you are talking about using the new SL viewer 2.0.... it is like haveing your soul sucked through a cheese greater.... smiles
[13:04] Wol Euler: does it make you feel different, then?
[13:05] Lia Rikugun: i guess it is like everything new
[13:05] Lia Rikugun: you need to get used to it
[13:05] Lia Rikugun: and yes it makes me feel different
    [13:05] Wol Euler: how?
    [13:05] Lia Rikugun: no idea
[13:05] Wol Euler is curious about embodiment and finding ourselves here
[13:06] Freud Jungsten: I find SL not nrealy as connecting when I use a text only viewer.
[13:06] Lia Rikugun: i dont like it from the first moment
[13:06] Lia Rikugun: but maybe thats only my lazyness
[13:06] Freud Jungsten: But that is odd as the main reason I use SL is IMing people in different sims.
[13:06] Lia Rikugun: oh i never used only text for SL
[13:06] Lia Rikugun: wol is appearing only as white dot
[13:07] Freud Jungsten: Those viewers are great when you have horrible connection rates.
    [13:07] Lia Rikugun: so sad
    [13:07] Wol Euler: I'll rebake
[13:07] Freud Jungsten: You are mostly grey to me.
[13:07] Wol Euler: and yes, freud, I agree about v2
[13:07] Wol Euler: one of my alts switched over to it entirely, to give it a fair test. Used it for 2 weeeks
[13:07] Wol Euler: we were so glad to come back to emerald
[13:08] Freud Jungsten: I have it a valiet try as well.... I find it user hostile.
[13:08] Wol Euler: well, experienced-user hostile in any case.
[13:08] Freud Jungsten: And less functional than the old one.
[13:08] Wol Euler: they made it hard to do things that pro users want to do
[13:08] Lia Rikugun: ah there is emerald viwer for linux too
[13:08] Freud Jungsten: And I am not the one to just complain... I sent them a good half page of suggestions.
[13:09] Wol Euler: most viewers are available on all three platforms, lia
[13:09] Lia Rikugun: wow i am impressed
[13:09] Lia Rikugun: so maybe i try emerald
[13:09] Freud Jungsten: I am one of those annyoning people that lke to fill out surveys... smiles
[13:10] Wol Euler: well, emerald has been withdrawn, sadly. Phoenix has the same software core and the same appearance
[13:10] Wol Euler: based on the original viewer but with new features
[13:10] Lia Rikugun: haha i am completely out of date apparently
[13:10] Wol Euler: so you don't have to learn anything new :)
[13:10] Freud Jungsten: I was reading about the vulnerabilities in emerald though.. intersting discussions.
[13:10] Wol Euler: yeah, it was a messy and sad tale. should never have happened
    [13:10] Lia Rikugun: http://emeraldviewer.net/ here i found a link
    [13:12] Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone
[13:12] Freud Jungsten: Of all the ones I have tried.. the old SL viewer I find is the most stable and has the most of what I need.
    [13:12] Lia Rikugun: hello yaku
    [13:12] Freud Jungsten: oisyo
    [13:12] Wol Euler: hello yaku
[13:12] Freud Jungsten: Ther are some very powerfull fiewers, but I find they are slow and my conections makes them worse.
[13:13] Freud Jungsten: So the old SL viewer give me a good ballance.

    new insights on life... :)

[13:13] Lia Rikugun: so any new insights on life?
    [13:13] Wol Euler nods.
    [13:13] Wol Euler: heheheh
    [13:13] Wol Euler: hello agatha
    [13:13] Yakuzza Lethecus: hi aggers
    [13:13] Lia Rikugun: hello agatha
[13:13] Agatha Macbeth: Hello all :)
[13:13] Freud Jungsten: I am going through an odd phase emotionally.
    [13:13] Wol Euler listens
[13:13] Freud Jungsten: Can't sort things out.
[13:14] Freud Jungsten: I am in some serious trouble... my stupid past catching up with me..... but for some reasons I am in a good mood.
[13:14] Freud Jungsten: Have no idea why.
[13:14] Wol Euler: looking into the abyss is sometimes like that, though :)
[13:14] Freud Jungsten: Might be a lovely case of denial...
[13:14] Wol Euler: you face the worst and see that isn't so bad after all
[13:16] Freud Jungsten: It is pretty bad... not talking jail time but fines, probation and related loss of scholarhips maybe.... just thinking my meltdown is comming soon but has not hit yet.
[13:17] Wol Euler: yeah, that sounds pretty tough.
[13:17] Agatha Macbeth: Who did you kill?
    [13:17] Wol Euler: hello mick
[13:17] Agatha Macbeth: Hi Mick :)
[13:17] Wol Euler: wow, a colourful shirt!
[13:17] Wol Euler narrows her eyes. Who are you and what have you done with the real Mickorod?!
    [13:17] Lia Rikugun: hello mick
    [13:17] Agatha Macbeth: That's a nice shirt
    [13:17] Mickorod Renard: hiya,,laggy tonite
    [13:18] Mickorod Renard: ty
[13:18] Freud Jungsten: Funny enough, not bad for me.
[13:18] Mickorod Renard: its my usual one but I dyed it
[13:18] Freud Jungsten: Normally I am way lagged.
    [13:18] Wol Euler: ah :)
    [13:18] Agatha Macbeth: Erk
    [13:18] Yakuzza Lethecus: hi mick

Wol is not visible to us, so she tries to reload.

[13:18] Freud Jungsten: Wol.. you are still grey to me.
    [13:18] Mickorod Renard: Hi
[13:18] Agatha Macbeth: Wol is a cloud to me
    [13:19] Wol Euler sobs bittterly.
[13:19] Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, to me as well
[13:19] Mickorod Renard: yes, Wol is a cloud to me too
[13:19] Yakuzza Lethecus: did you rebake already ?
    [13:19] Agatha Macbeth: crl-alt-R?
[13:19] Freud Jungsten: Grey is not your color.. smiles
    [13:19] Mickorod Renard: :)
    [13:20] Agatha Macbeth: Mick's rebaking too :p
    [13:21] Mickorod Renard: ahhhh,,thats better
[13:21] Freud Jungsten: Should I make a "half-baked" joke or is that to obvious?
[13:21] Agatha Macbeth: The man in black returns
    [13:21] Mickorod Renard: :)
[13:21] Freud Jungsten: You need to shortern your sleaves so we can see your tatts though Mick.
[13:21] Wol Euler: is that any better?
[13:21] Lia Rikugun: not for me...
    [13:21] Agatha Macbeth: Er...no
[13:21] Freud Jungsten: Not a bit.
    [13:21] Mickorod Renard: no Wol
    [13:21] Wol Euler: :(
    [13:22] Wol Euler: ok
[13:22] Agatha Macbeth: Strangely I can see evryone else perfectly
[13:22] Mickorod Renard: but to me you will always look gorgeous
[13:22] Freud Jungsten: ooh.. that was so smooth Mick.... smiles
    [13:22] Mickorod Renard: :)
[13:22] Wol Euler: yeah, my appearance is calculated by my viewer and uploaded to yo all, or not.
[13:23] Freud Jungsten: Sl does not love you anymore.
    [13:23] Agatha Macbeth: Hmm
[13:23] Agatha Macbeth: No lag at all on my meter
[13:24] Wol Euler: the problem is in uploading
[13:24] Agatha Macbeth: Can you edit your appearance ok?
[13:24] Mickorod Renard: thats always been my problem,,off loading seems to be my pastine
    [13:24] Wol Euler: I did.
    [13:24] Mickorod Renard: past time
[13:25] Agatha Macbeth: Sounds like the same prob Pila had at the café the other night
    [13:25] Wol Euler nods.
    [13:25] Agatha Macbeth: Yay!
[13:25] Mickorod Renard: you havnt had any dodgy dreams have you?
[13:25] Yakuzza Lethecus: there is the wol
    [13:25] Lia Rikugun: wow
    [13:25] Mickorod Renard: yeaaaa
    [13:25] Wol Euler smiles.
[13:26] Agatha Macbeth: Ah, I recognise that
    [13:26] Wol Euler: :)
[13:26] Lia Rikugun: what is quiiiiking?
    [13:26] Agatha Macbeth: Cyberbunny
[13:26] Wol Euler: I've worn it here before
[13:26] Agatha Macbeth looks round for ducks
[13:27] Mickorod Renard: I see Ags has found some winter wear
[13:27] Freud Jungsten: Nice, but not so to your back side.
[13:27] Agatha Macbeth: No scarf as yet tho...
[13:27] Freud Jungsten: Scarves are highly underrated.
    [13:27] Agatha Macbeth: Better

"looking inside" exploration for the next break

forgetting texts and being changed by them

[13:28] Lia Rikugun: 2 minutes till the next break
[13:28] Lia Rikugun: what do we want to focus on?
    [13:28] Lia Rikugun: ;)
    [13:28] Lia Rikugun: looking inside?
    [13:28] Freud Jungsten: Soul searching?
[13:29] Lia Rikugun: yes should we try something?
    [13:29] Freud Jungsten: Please.
[13:29] Mickorod Renard: inside is empty
[13:29] Lia Rikugun: so maybe just inside looking
[13:29] Freud Jungsten: Inside is very very full I would argue.
[13:29] Lia Rikugun: to see what we can find
[13:30] Freud Jungsten: But interested why you would say empty though.
[13:31] Lia Rikugun: so how was this?
[13:31] Lia Rikugun: i closed my eyes and it felt very relaxing
[13:32] Mickorod Renard: I was thinking the other day,,I read so much , mainly scientific or technical stuff along with spiritual stuff,,I would say that most has disapeared somewhere
[13:32] Freud Jungsten: Most of your inner being has dissapeared?
[13:32] Mickorod Renard: so the question I was thinking,,was where has it all gone
[13:32] Lia Rikugun: of what you read?
    [13:32] Mickorod Renard: yes
[13:33] Lia Rikugun: haha, I am forgetting all the time
[13:33] Mickorod Renard: and what has become of it
[13:33] Freud Jungsten: Maybe it has not gone and it is just your perspective and filters that have changed.
[13:33] Wol Euler: I feel that about the programming knowledge I acquired and lost
[13:33] Mickorod Renard: maybe my purpose is just to consume and pass on to some unknown source
[13:34] Wol Euler: perhaps the purpose of your reading was not to retain, but to be changed by it?
[13:34] Mickorod Renard: thats an interesting concept Wol
[13:34] Wol Euler: those languages I forgot changed some (small) ways of thinking that I had
[13:34] Wol Euler: the changes remain, though I#ve forgotten the language
    [13:34] Mickorod Renard: yes
[13:34] Lia Rikugun: yes Wol, ithe reading changes you, ah thats a good idea
[13:35] Mickorod Renard: I cannot remember specifics,,but the way my mind thinks has now changed
[13:35] Lia Rikugun: I dont remember a lot from the TSK book but it changed me
    [13:35] Wol Euler nods.
    [13:35] Mickorod Renard: yes
    [13:35] Freud Jungsten: TSK?
[13:35] Wol Euler: Time Space and Knowledge
[13:35] Lia Rikugun: Time Space Knowledge
[13:35] Agatha Macbeth: The Second Koming?
[13:36] Wol Euler: like the ur-text of Play as Being :)
[13:36] Lia Rikugun: that is a book we read together in w workshop here in second life
[13:36] Freud Jungsten: Not looked at that.
    [13:36] Mickorod Renard: wow,,a multiple?
    [13:36] Mickorod Renard: :)

    looking inside: empty or full?

[13:37] Wol Euler: Freud, you asked Lia why she felt that she was empty, since you feel so full.
[13:37] Wol Euler: (if I understood rightly)
[13:37] Lia Rikugun: I think freud asked mick
[13:37] Mickorod Renard: he may have meant me
    [13:37] Wol Euler: ah
    [13:37] Mickorod Renard: yea
[13:37] Freud Jungsten: Actually I think it was Mick.
    [13:37] Wol Euler: okay :)
    [13:37] Agatha Macbeth is confused
[13:37] Wol Euler: just trying to prevent anohter of your questions from going unanswered :)
[13:38] Mickorod Renard: I was thinking that the bit of me that seems present cognitivly is rather empheral,,and the rest of the body seems circumstancial
[13:39] Mickorod Renard: if that makes sense
[13:39] Freud Jungsten: OK... my English has completely failed me on what you mean... can you explain pleas e Mick?
[13:40] Mickorod Renard: well,,its proberbly my english that has failed you all,,sorry
[13:40] Mickorod Renard: but I mean,,,,,,
[13:40] Freud Jungsten: lol.. anyone her actualy a nitve English speaker?
    [13:40] Wol Euler: yep
    [13:40] Agatha Macbeth thinks
[13:41] Mickorod Renard: when I think of what seems to be the thinking bit of me,,well that seems so cloud like
    [13:41] Agatha Macbeth: Try rebaking...
[13:41] Mickorod Renard: and the rest of my body mechanism seems just ,,a mechanism
    [13:41] Lia Rikugun: :)
[13:42] Freud Jungsten: I think a lot of poeple like to thing the most important part of themselves is their mind.. but the body realy effects the mind... so it is of great importance as well.
[13:43] Lia Rikugun: next break is coming up soon

second exercise: being without brain :)

[13:43] Mickorod Renard: I wonder what the spirit would be like if it didnt have a brain
[13:43] Agatha Macbeth: 'If I only had a brain'
    [13:43] Mickorod Renard: :)
[13:43] Yakuzza Lethecus: hmm, the second center of neurons are in the gestricular system right ?
    [13:44] Yakuzza Lethecus: :P
[13:44] Mickorod Renard: I know my last statement sounds stupid,,but I think there is a point in it
[13:44] Lia Rikugun: ok so as exercise, being without brain?
[13:44] Agatha Macbeth: On having no head
[13:44] Lia Rikugun: should we try that?
    [13:44] Mickorod Renard: ok
    [13:44] Wol Euler: :)
    [13:44] Wol Euler: sure
    [13:44] Lia Rikugun: :)
[13:44] Mickorod Renard: I may die whilst attempting it
    [13:45] Lia Rikugun: noooo
[13:46] Lia Rikugun: :) I had to laugh
[13:47] Lia Rikugun: which is not possible without brain right?
    [13:47] Agatha Macbeth: Or left
[13:47] Mickorod Renard: I came up with the notion that my spirit bit,,maybe associated with being,,is a slave inhabitant of some incessant questioning device
    [13:47] Agatha Macbeth: Your wife?
[13:47] Lia Rikugun: hm to mick
[13:47] Mickorod Renard: ha ha ha ,,not far off Ags
    [13:47] Agatha Macbeth grins cheesily
[13:48] Wol Euler: so you went robotic? :)
[13:48] Agatha Macbeth: Restistance is futile
[13:48] Mickorod Renard: ok,,well here we try and get rid of the noise,,the noise is the brain munching through possibilities
[13:49] Mickorod Renard: inside is a locked up entity just wanting a lovely peacful existance
[13:49] Wol Euler: so the questioning disturbs you?
[13:49] Lia Rikugun: but wanting a lovely peaceful existance is something the brain does no?
[13:50] Mickorod Renard: I am addicted to it,,so dificult to quantify
[13:50] Lia Rikugun: how could a being without brain want something?
[13:50] Mickorod Renard: yea,,so u need to get rid of the brain
[13:50] Agatha Macbeth: The Scarecrow wanted something...
[13:50] Agatha Macbeth: He wanted a brain
[13:51] Lia Rikugun: or just not listen to it for a while
[13:51] Mickorod Renard: maybe the brain has got too important
[13:51] Agatha Macbeth: But it turns out he had one all along and just didn't know it
[13:51] Lia Rikugun: haha, but now the brain talks saying: "maybe the brain has got too important"
[13:51] Lia Rikugun: the dog biting its own tail
    [13:52] Mickorod Renard: yes
[13:52] Mickorod Renard: its a conundrum
[13:52] Agatha Macbeth: Or the snake
[13:52] Mickorod Renard: maybe a rat?
[13:52] Agatha Macbeth: Or a cat
    [13:52] Mickorod Renard: a renard?
    [13:53] Agatha Macbeth: Foxy

Eliza joined us with a boxy avatar, everybody changes his appearance :)

[13:54] Lia Rikugun: oh wow you changed your avatar
    [13:54] Agatha Macbeth: No scarf?
[13:54] Mickorod Renard: when we drop attachments are we not dropping thoughts generated by the brain?
[13:54] Lia Rikugun: that is what I am thinking too mick
[13:54] Eliza Madrigal: You guys will have to read Storm's session from this morning :)
    [13:54] Wol Euler: :)

    [13:59] Eliza Madrigal nods

    [14:00] Eliza Madrigal: hahah Yakuzza!
    [14:00] Wol Euler: oh yes
