Bertram Jacobus: i thought, i´m so late today may be there will nobody be at the pavillion anymore ... :-)
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: hmm, isn`t it half an hour that should be here if no-one comes?
Calvino Rabeni: This happened at 7:30 also,no one was there, and I almost left and went to sleep :) Just as I was about to log out, then two "familiars" showed up, and there was a good session
    Calvino Rabeni: Yes Cos
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: oukkidoukki
Bertram Jacobus: good session, bad session (?) ... *lol smile*
    --BELL--
Bertram Jacobus: nice sessions, entertaining sessions, boaring sessions ? continuing ... *and giggle* ...
    Hokon Cazalet: hi =)
Bertram Jacobus: hello hokon ! :-)
    Calvino Rabeni: Hi Hokon :)
    Hokon Cazalet: ☻
Calvino Rabeni: Good to see you
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: Hi Hokon <3<3<3
    Hokon Cazalet: ♥♥
    Hokon Cazalet: =)
    Hokon Cazalet: ❤
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: there can be different sessions
Bertram Jacobus: yes. or even : every session is different (?) ... ;o)
Bertram Jacobus: isn´t it very late in the niht now where you live hokon ? :-) ooops : pooof
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: wb Hokon ;)
    Hokon Cazalet: ty
    Hokon Cazalet: =)
Bertram Jacobus: [01:35] Bertram Jacobus: isn´t it very late in the niht now where you live hokon ? :-) ooops : pooof
    Hokon Cazalet: hehe
    Hokon Cazalet: yes it is
    Hokon Cazalet: 3:37am
Bertram Jacobus: whaow - so comes that you are awake ? :-)
Hokon Cazalet: i slept all sunday :Þ
    Bertram Jacobus: lol i see
Hokon Cazalet: hehe i did as god says, rest on the 7th day of the week lol
Bertram Jacobus: i was awake here at 4:06 in the last night, too but prefered to watch a bit tv instead of visiting the place here *smile*
    Hokon Cazalet: hehe
Bertram Jacobus: great - good girl ! :o)
Hokon Cazalet: im probably gonna play a computer game soon or read more of heidegger
Calvino Rabeni: The part I like about that instruction is "And he saw that it was Good"
    Hokon Cazalet: ☻ @ calvino
Bertram Jacobus: great alternatives - i love that : computergame or heidegger ! :-)
    Hokon Cazalet: lol
Bertram Jacobus: that sounds like quite close to some spiritual advices which say : take all things as equal ... :-)
    Hokon Cazalet: hehe
Hokon Cazalet: well by playing a computer game, i can experience being lost in the-world, and better understand heidegger's concept of 'falling' :Þ
    Calvino Rabeni: Equal but Good
Calvino Rabeni: Yes actually Good :)
Calvino Rabeni: Not just "take it or leave it"
Calvino Rabeni: But big appreciation :)
Bertram Jacobus: "falling" - what is there to understand about that ? (i aks becaus i like to take things simple) ... ;-)
    Hokon Cazalet: hehe
Hokon Cazalet: i guess my reply would be, its one thing to understand something by description, another to understand it by acquiantance
Hokon Cazalet: use russels ideas now hehe
Bertram Jacobus: sry - don´t find "aquiantance" in my dictionary ... (?)
    --BELL--
Hokon Cazalet: i guess another term would be by experience or direct encounter with it
Bertram Jacobus: ah - great - i guessed so - and that is how i try to find orientation in my life, too : by experience and reasonable thinking - ok : + meditation ... :-)
    Hokon Cazalet: =)
Hokon Cazalet: i need to meditate more
Hokon Cazalet: esp with how busy my mind gets
Bertram Jacobus: i often must think about a sentence said by the dalai lama referring to "such things" : "it´s never enough" he said and meant with it that we very often seem to feel that. but he also added someting as : but at least it is a bit or : everything we do is nice ... ;-)
Hokon Cazalet: actually in general, i wanna learn alot of various arts, ive kinda run into a dead end with conceptual style analysis
    Hokon Cazalet: cool =)
Hokon Cazalet: i like that sentiment
Hokon Cazalet: ive been steering myself away from wanting it all (now), but taking it bit by bit, and those bits are cool by themselves
Bertram Jacobus: i know another sentence which i associate to this now and that is : the head is round so that thoughts can change their direction lol :o)
    Hokon Cazalet: hehe
Bertram Jacobus: sounds nice hokon :-)
    Hokon Cazalet: =)
Hokon Cazalet: yeah, i guess id label my new focus as "existential", but that term has alot of connotations, that i wouldnt adhere to so . . . i guess seeing the sacred in concrete things, not trying to go too . . . not to say going to more . . . is bad, just i need to be rooted in the concrete for the monent before i can go elsewhere
Bertram Jacobus: yes. that sounds very close to that what i also like currently : after going very complicated ways, thoughts and seekings - now a kind of very simple life (?) ... in a way at least ;-)
    Hokon Cazalet: yup =)
    Bertram Jacobus: :-))
    Calvino Rabeni: yup
Bertram Jacobus: there are even desciptions of that in spiritual writings, that that would be the normal, common way of going ! ... :-)
Hokon Cazalet: im new to exploring Being, and spirituality in general now; i used to be very logico-naturalistic, but now am opening up to that stuff
    Hokon Cazalet: cool =)
    Bertram Jacobus: yeahh :o)
Hokon Cazalet: i still like science though =)
Bertram Jacobus: i think, that is simply a nice adition and so to say a widening of the perspective and experience which every seeking person meets in a short or longer rund
    Hokon Cazalet: yeah
Hokon Cazalet: id agree with that
Hokon Cazalet: i like what Spock says in star trek 6: logic is the begining, not the end of wisdom
Bertram Jacobus: same here : i like, as said before reasonability - but not standing alone but companied by heart so to say - and as also said : by meditation ...
Bertram Jacobus: great. spock is a wise man ... :-)
    Hokon Cazalet: hehe =)
Bertram Jacobus: sry - i think i´ll leave now - was very nice to meet you - have a nice time plz ! ...
Hokon Cazalet: aww nice meeting you also
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: have a nice day Bert
Hokon Cazalet: have a good day/night
Bertram Jacobus: ty all and same same ;-)
    --BELL--
    Calvino Rabeni: bye Bert (belatedly)
Hokon Cazalet: what does belated mean btw?
Calvino Rabeni: It means, too late for the event it was for
    Hokon Cazalet: oh ok
Calvino Rabeni: like a late birthday card
    Hokon Cazalet: =)
Calvino Rabeni: hmmm logical and natural go together then (responding to something earlier) ?
Hokon Cazalet: oh, was my attempt to label the sort of scientific way of viewing the world, though not specific to science
Hokon Cazalet: its kinda vauge :Þ
Hokon Cazalet: i ghuess for me 'naturalism' means something it doesnt to most
Calvino Rabeni: Well in a way its a dirty word to some trancendentally oriented philosohers I think
Hokon Cazalet: logic and nature go together with geometry and physics =)
    Hokon Cazalet: yeah
Hokon Cazalet: yeah its sometimes used as a pejorative by transcendental, idealists, some phenomenological philosophers
    --BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: then in the eyes of a fair number, natural is the opposite of spiritual
Calvino Rabeni: which doesn't make sense from the spiritual side necessarily
Hokon Cazalet: for some, though naturalism isnt in some of those traditions oppossed to spirituality
Hokon Cazalet: i think naturalism in for them denotes a strictly fact-oriented way of viewing the world, a mechanistic system of mathematical laws
Hokon Cazalet: where 'subjective' qualities of value, soul, etc has no validity
Hokon Cazalet: its a very specific form of viewing the natural world, that naturalism denotes in some varients of philosophy, related to the analytic tradition in some respects
Calvino Rabeni: Well it seems the spiritually oriented have also bought into the same dualistic idea
Hokon Cazalet: yeah, alot of that stems from descartes
Hokon Cazalet: his dualism of res extensa and res cogitans
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: Dears, I need to go, My baby need some dinner atm ;)
Hokon Cazalet: byebye, have a good night =)
Calvino Rabeni: FUnny how they divide things up, and agree on the division, even though they are on opposite sides of the fence
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: Have a good Night Hokon too ;)
    Hokon Cazalet: hehe yup
    Hokon Cazalet: =)
    Calvino Rabeni: <3<3<3 Cosmic
Hokon Cazalet: for myself, i think spiritual meaning is to be found in our concrete lives (im going this direction), in a sense im into 'existential' spirituality; though since sartre, existential has taken on a very specific meaning, so
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: <3<3<3 By now
Hokon Cazalet: i cant call myself that hehe
    Hokon Cazalet: byeeeeeee ❤
Calvino Rabeni: Well hopefully you can choose for yourself something not necessarily on the menu
Hokon Cazalet: well its more that i pick a path, then see if it lines up with anyone else
Hokon Cazalet: if not, then i make a new name =P
Hokon Cazalet: usually, i dont line up 100% with anyone anyways
    Hokon Cazalet: not anymore
Hokon Cazalet: i was a strict logical positivist in my youth (though adhered to objective morality, kinda a weird dualism i ran into eventually); but since age 19, i went all over the place =P
Calvino Rabeni: It sounds like a developing trajectory
    Hokon Cazalet: yeah
Calvino Rabeni: What are the changes over time?
Hokon Cazalet: well im now going into phenomenology, but im finding significant flaws with husserl and heidegger, so im probably gonna find my own path in it eventually
    Hokon Cazalet: hehe alot
Calvino Rabeni: Have you noticed any sort of common patterns in the careers of philosophers and scientists?
Hokon Cazalet: i have a record of various "snapshots" of my writings and notes on my ideas
    --BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: Some general trends? Stereotpyes?
Hokon Cazalet: dunno, i havnt studied others lifes as much
Calvino Rabeni: Like - an early concern with self definition and technique, and maybe power, making a name, individualtion
Calvino Rabeni: and a later concern with sociality and broader less well-defined meaning
Calvino Rabeni: which the younger ones consider "soft"
Hokon Cazalet: i know for myself, its been about figuring myself out, and knowing what the Good is
Hokon Cazalet: well, not what it is
    Hokon Cazalet: but its nature
Hokon Cazalet: but with others, im not sure tbh
Calvino Rabeni: yes, that's a good distinction
Hokon Cazalet: although my views on what the Good is has changed with time =)
Calvino Rabeni: BUT, unfortunately, I have to log out ...
    Hokon Cazalet: awww
    Hokon Cazalet: ok,ies
Hokon Cazalet: ty for talking to me =)
Hokon Cazalet: hope to see you soon
Calvino Rabeni: I hope to talk more later since it's interesting to get to know you and the progression of your thought
    Calvino Rabeni: YEs :))
    Hokon Cazalet: =)
Calvino Rabeni: Bye for now Hokon :)
Hokon Cazalet: its fun to look through my old writings =)
    Hokon Cazalet: byeeeeeeee
