stevenaia Michinaga: hello Lo
stevenaia Michinaga: have you been here before?
Io Larkspur: Yes, steve -- I am Brucie's surrogate -- since he's still catatonic.
stevenaia Michinaga: Smiles, yes, we worry about Bruce's stasis
stevenaia Michinaga: welcome back
Io Larkspur: Well, yes. It has been four days so far.
Io Larkspur: ty.
stevenaia Michinaga: how strange, any thought on how you got stuck
Io Larkspur: No one can figure it out -- both Storm and Wol are mystified.
stevenaia Michinaga: I assume you've tried things, like turning off yur computer
Io Larkspur: Of course -- many many times.
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Io Larkspur: But we're in a Catch-22.
stevenaia Michinaga: which viewer were you using?
stevenaia Michinaga: perhaps there's a support group for those in.... SL pergatory
Io Larkspur: Since Bruce is officially logged IN, I cann't log in as Bruce anymore. . . therefore, crashing my computer (the SL program) doesn't log off anyone but Io.
Io Larkspur: Well, there is a certainly "Limbo" feeling about it.
stevenaia Michinaga: this could be the begining of SL mysticisim
Io Larkspur: A whole new meaning to "Second" life, huh?
stevenaia Michinaga: nods, SL in No Time
Io Larkspur: yeppers. Arch and I were chatting today about "survival" in cyberspace -- sometihng he calls transhumanism.
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, he mentioned that a long time ago
Io Larkspur: where the "data" of who one is continues on -- beyond physical death. . . so one's avi survives...
Io Larkspur: Mmmm. . . William Gibson stuff. . .
stevenaia Michinaga: nods
Io Larkspur: If what Bruc is going through now is any example, I'm opting OUT of that!
stevenaia Michinaga: well if we all end up there, there won;t be much discussion, were you on the verge of something new and exciting that the Lindens might not want you to know about, no sence in not having a comspiracy theory thrown in for good measure
Io Larkspur: Nope, I was just logging out - - I don't build anything, awn anything, or do anything else. . . much . . .
stevenaia Michinaga: aww, a heratic
Io Larkspur: except come here. I have filed a "ticket" with SL, but so far, nothing happening.
Io Larkspur: own* anything.
--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: on the anniversery of PaB, one of the guardians circulated a note to the groups mailing list saying that the Wiki we posting to was closing down our site due to the strangeness of our groups activities
Io Larkspur: Oh MY!?
stevenaia Michinaga: ofcourse the outcry was loud, until someone realized when the anniverary was.. Aptil 1st,
Io Larkspur loves self-referential paradoxes...
stevenaia Michinaga: April
Io Larkspur: pardon my lapse --- Your new dress is gorgeous, steve.
Io Larkspur: Looking good!
stevenaia Michinaga: smies.. thanks, I don;t do much shopping, and Paradise has exquiside taste
Io Larkspur explains -- that was my voice before the sex change, you understand.
stevenaia Michinaga: so she let me shop at her favorte designer's store
stevenaia Michinaga: lol
Io Larkspur: Great!
stevenaia Michinaga: or invited me alng, rather
Io Larkspur: Did you see Metanomics this afternoon?
Io Larkspur: Noam Chomsky....
stevenaia Michinaga: I saw part of it
stevenaia Michinaga: I must say, I was not inspired
Io Larkspur: really? I was TOTALLY inspired. . . (funny, huh?)
stevenaia Michinaga: nods
stevenaia Michinaga: a matter of expectations
Io Larkspur: an 82-year-old man -- still so eloquent and mentally honed.
stevenaia Michinaga: I ahd never heard him speak, and only know of him by reputation
Io Larkspur: yes, I had never heard him either -- and after reading his bio thought that he'd be a whimpering mess.
Io Larkspur: especially in this medium and LIVE.
Io Larkspur: but -- wow!
Io Larkspur: Now -- get this. . .
stevenaia Michinaga: perhaps it was the interviewer I was unimpressed with
Io Larkspur: I emailed 15 friends who I KNOW have a keen interest in Chomsky - - -
Io Larkspur: but not a SINGLE one of them tuned in -- not to Second Life, of course, but the the Metanomics website, where the show was broadcast.
stevenaia Michinaga: I watched it on the web, better seats
Io Larkspur: I do not know a SINGLE person in RL who will go anywhere NEAR anything having to do with SL.
Io Larkspur: What sort of phobia is that?
stevenaia Michinaga: hmmm did you see that note
stevenaia Michinaga: [19:23] Io Larkspur's PaB Listener: Sorry, the PaB webserver is not responding. Error 499"
Io Larkspur: I mean, really, I do not understand. . . NONE of them has ever experienced a second of SL -- and yet there is this thick wall of prejudice against it.
Io Larkspur: Yep I just saw that error message -- what do you suppose that means?
stevenaia Michinaga: I can see it being uninteresting to some, or to busy to be bothered, but fear of SL
stevenaia Michinaga: checking web log to see of you are being
stevenaia Michinaga: "heard"
Io Larkspur: I don't understand it at all -- I would think that simply out of friendship with me they'd be just a tiny bit interested -- but NO -- SLAM THE DOOR. End of story.
Io Larkspur: OK -- Let me explain something that happened --
Io Larkspur: I was scheduled to claim the session (I mean BRUCE was) Saturday afternoon (the 1 p.m. slt session).
Io Larkspur: but Brucie was catatonic -- so I asked Bert to take it and then send me the link.
Io Larkspur: which he did...
Io Larkspur: and when I looked at the chat5 log -- ONLY Bert was there -- none of the rest of us (at least five others besides Bert) were in the log.
Io Larkspur: That's probably happening right now.
stevenaia Michinaga: no, I checkd, you are there
Io Larkspur: Here -- look at this: http://wiki.playasbeing.org/Chat_Logs/2010/10/2010.10.09_13%3a00_-_Limbo
stevenaia Michinaga: including your comment about the message
Io Larkspur: OK -- well, then, what do you think that message meant?
stevenaia Michinaga: strangeness abounds
stevenaia Michinaga: hello Cal
Io Larkspur: Hello, Calvino.
--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: I do not know
Io Larkspur is puzzled. . . and can live with that.
stevenaia Michinaga: perhap you should submit bruce's cloud as your puzzled pic
Calvino Rabeni: How's the "Free Bruce Now" campaign coming?
Io Larkspur: well, Cal -- so far no action from the Linden gods.
Io Larkspur: It has been four days. . .
stevenaia Michinaga: was Bruce using a Linden Viewer?
Io Larkspur: I can't remember. . . I go back and forth between V2 and Phoenix.
Io Larkspur: It could have been either one.
Calvino Rabeni: What has Bruce tried so far i order to escape?
Io Larkspur: The problem is that Bruce cannot LOG IN because he is already IN -- and can't get out.
Io Larkspur: Storm and Wol have tried everything they know.
Io Larkspur: I guess we have to wait for a rolling restart of the region.
stevenaia Michinaga: how often do they restart regions?
Io Larkspur: don't know.
stevenaia Michinaga: you would think the linden's would knwo that, if only to clean up the bodies
Io Larkspur: yeppers.
Io Larkspur: but We will be patient.
Io Larkspur: Tomorrow I will check the "ticket" and add another note to it.
stevenaia Michinaga: right, Bruce isn;t going anywhere :)
Io Larkspur: that's for sure!
Io Larkspur: Limbo it is and looks like it will be -- for a while.
stevenaia Michinaga: who put of the poster?
Io Larkspur: Dear Bleu made the poster and the shirts.
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Io Larkspur: I know Bruce would REALLY appreciate the support -- if he were conscious.
stevenaia Michinaga: where did you Dao wheel go Cal?
Io Larkspur: yeah!? THAT was really cool, Cal.
stevenaia Michinaga: I feel a crash comming on
Io Larkspur: OK -- I will be going, then. It's past my betime. . .
stevenaia Michinaga: like a sneeze, it may ahve passed
Io Larkspur: May you both be well and ahppy -- and thank you for your thoughts about Bruce.
stevenaia Michinaga: night Io
stevenaia Michinaga: any reports from the Retreat?
Calvino Rabeni: I heard the retreat was going well, that's about all I've heard
--BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: Good evening Hana :)
stevenaia Michinaga: hello Hana
Hana Furlough: good evening, cal and steve
Hana Furlough: how are you two?
stevenaia Michinaga: filling in for Eos, lucky boy
Hana Furlough: nice!
Hana Furlough: oh right... it's the retreat
stevenaia Michinaga: yes
stevenaia Michinaga: they are such nice events
Hana Furlough: playing as jealous
Hana Furlough: : )
Calvino Rabeni confesses.. I'm sitting here thinking about a slow leak in the plumbing under the kitchen sink ... Very un-SL, where water never leaks
stevenaia Michinaga: and no hunger, but there is a stange sort of poverty
stevenaia Michinaga: strange
stevenaia Michinaga: but only for those who shop
Hana Furlough: lol
Hana Furlough: seriously though, is it okay cal?
Calvino Rabeni: That's the thing ... the leak is slow enough to be tempted to ignore it, but over time ....
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, I have some old faucets like that
Hana Furlough: yeah i've heard it can be bad
Calvino Rabeni: This is underneath, where things don't show and would be easy to overlook
Hana Furlough: in terms f water damage
stevenaia Michinaga: can you catch it with a pan?
Calvino Rabeni: Yes
stevenaia Michinaga: and then rig a small solar powered pump to pump it into the sink
stevenaia Michinaga: or to the cat's bowel
--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: I must be off
stevenaia Michinaga: see you tomarrow
Hana Furlough: me too
Hana Furlough: great to see you both
Hana Furlough: good luck with your leak, cal
Hana Furlough: and good night!
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, take care of it
Calvino Rabeni: TY steve / hana
