    Eden Haiku: Good morning Io.

Eden Haiku: You are showing us your best profile Alfred?
    Alfred Kelberry: oh, eden :)
    Io Larkspur: Good morning, Eliza.
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Alfred, Eden, Lo :)
    Eden Haiku: Good morning Eliza!
Alfred Kelberry: sorry, i was away
    Alfred Kelberry: best profile?
Eliza Madrigal: It is taking a while to rezz for me. Am I a cloud?
    Alfred Kelberry: leggy eliza :)
    Io Larkspur: wb, Al ;-)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Io Larkspur: I see you perfectly, Eliza.
Eden Haiku: You were standing sideways Alfred, now I see your beautiful cute bot face!
Alfred Kelberry: nope, you're quite leggy to me :)
Eliza Madrigal: So who is going to make the Free Bruce t-shirts? hehe
Alfred Kelberry: ah! thank you, eden :)
    Eliza Madrigal giggles @ Alfred
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, Lo has on
    Eliza Madrigal: one
    Eliza Madrigal: hahahah
Io Larkspur: It was gift from Bleu -- along with the FREE BRUCE AND BLUB poster.
Alfred Kelberry: um... i like bruce the cloud picture
Eden Haiku: Is it "Lo" or "Io"?
Eliza Madrigal: Fantastic... poor blub. does he know astral projection too, like bruce? hehe
    Alfred Kelberry: eden, interesting question
Io Larkspur: Technically, it is Io --one of the moons of Jupiter.
Eliza Madrigal: Eden, I love your new pink hair :)
Alfred Kelberry: it is the one like pizza? :)
Eden Haiku: And an interesting mythological figure. The woman who runs wildly...
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Eden Haiku: blushing under Eliza's compliment ;)
Alfred Kelberry: yes, pizza planet: http://sos.noaa.gov/images/Solar_System/io.jpg
Io Larkspur: Yes, the one like pizza with lots of tiny volcanos
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Eden Haiku: It does look like pizza!
Io Larkspur: I've been reading through your "Goodness Homework," Eliza.
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, please feel free to add to it as well
Eliza Madrigal: Alf and Eden may not know about that though...
Eliza Madrigal: is for the Ways of Knowing workshop
Eden Haiku: was wondering what Io was talking about, yes :)
Io Larkspur: Will this become an email dialogue. . . or will it be a post on the wiki -- or will it be something else?
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, the idea is to post a report (I imagine that Gaya has added you to the ways of knowing wiki/deki)...
Eliza Madrigal: and then during the workshop we discuss :)
    Alfred Kelberry: *crunches cookies*
Eliza Madrigal: Similar to the Time Sessions
Io Larkspur: Oh!!!! OK! I just joined hat group so this will be my first. . . THANKS!
Io Larkspur: [actually, it was Bruce who joined, not Io. . . but. . . ]
Eliza Madrigal: I look forward to your report... er, Bruce's...
    Io Larkspur: thanks, anyway.
Eden Haiku: eats her crunchy cereals with banana, almond milk and fresh raspberries :)
    Alfred Kelberry: mmm... *wants some*
Io Larkspur looks at Bruce's calendar and sees that Way of Knowing will be 2 p.m. slt on Thursday.
    Eliza Madrigal: yes :)
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Eden Haiku: here is a spoonful for you darling robot :))
    Alfred Kelberry: yay! :)
    Io Larkspur: ;-)
    Alfred Kelberry: thank you :)
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
    Eden Haiku: miummmm

    Nourishment of needs

Eden Haiku: Today is Thanksgiving day here.
Eliza Madrigal: Basic Goodness is about staying with essentials perhaps... basics like nourishment of needs... 'just enough'...
Io Larkspur: In Quebec -- wonderful -- my favorite holiday of the entire year!
    Eliza Madrigal: Eden, It IS?
Eliza Madrigal: oh wow... What are your plans Eden?
Eden Haiku: I'm feeling grateful for the incredible Indian summer, golden hues, red trees, orange colored bushes.
Eliza Madrigal feels Eden's gratitude and is grateful for that
Eden Haiku: Thanksgiving is not such a big deal here, just another holiday.
    Alfred Kelberry: eden, beautiful
Eden Haiku: When I lived in New York, I was surprised to discover how important Thanksgiving is.
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, yes... Thanksgiving is a big deal in the US
Eliza Madrigal: also near my son's birthday :)
Io Larkspur: yep -- Pilgrims, turkeys, relatives, dinner. . . yum.
Eden Haiku: Planning to help my friend some more with his project then we will go walk on a nearby island to see the colors :)
    Eliza Madrigal: sigh... sounds wonderful...
Alfred Kelberry: eden, take some pictures, please :)
Alfred Kelberry: then you could upload them to sl and place in the art gallery :)
Io Larkspur: but I appreciate Thanksgiving because "Gratitude" is a primary spiritual "state" for me -- probably the most basic of all . . . (like, gratitude for Basic Goodness. . . )
Alfred Kelberry: or just here in the pagoda :)
Eden Haiku: And if my Dad is not too busy, we might have cake with him. Yes, will take pictures Al. :)
Eliza Madrigal: That is a nice idea Alfred... to have a Thankfulness art project
    Io Larkspur: wonderful!
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Indeed, Io
Eden Haiku: My Dad is amazingly active for his 86 years old. Which is a VERY good thing for me :)
Alfred Kelberry: oh, that's so nice, eden :)
Alfred Kelberry: i wish many active years to your dad :)
    Eden Haiku: Thanks :)

VIPs venturing into Second Life: Yoko Ono and Noam Chomsky

Eliza Madrigal: Did you hear that Yoko Ono was in SL this weekend?... Was J Lennon's 70th birthday...
Eden Haiku: Are you back home Eliza?
    Eliza Madrigal: yes :)
    Alfred Kelberry: in sl?!

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: yes... just read that this morning
Eliza Madrigal: Her avatar is "Yoko Ono"
Eden Haiku: I heard Noam Chomsky will be in SL tomorrow!
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: yes!
Alfred Kelberry: damn, i missed yoko
Eden Haiku: Pila gave us the link in the mail.
    Alfred Kelberry: where was she?
Eliza Madrigal: Maybe she will make an Imagine tower in SL...
Eden Haiku: Yes, did you hear about what happened with Yoko Al?
    Alfred Kelberry: um, no
Eden Haiku: Loved your 'Imagine' picture Bruce!
    Alfred Kelberry: ah, imagine festival
Eden Haiku: Sorry, I had my sound off. I just noticed the bell when it said "Thank you";)
    Eden Haiku: Oh, thanks Io!
Alfred Kelberry: i'd like to see the world without borders and fear
Eden Haiku: Pila was saying he was going to watch Chomsky from the Web as SL might be crowdy.
Eden Haiku: A world without borders and fears, yes :)))
Eliza Madrigal: yes, if I'm able to be on at that time I will try to be in SL though... seems a very unique experience to have :)
Alfred Kelberry: i think he was in sl before
Eden Haiku: Yes. Better go with a very low count on your avatar rendering so you can get in.
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Eliza Madrigal: SL itself for some is a world without maps...
    Alfred Kelberry: basicness :)
    Bleu Oleander: hi everyone :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bleu!
    Alfred Kelberry: oi, bleu
Eliza Madrigal: I love the shirt you made for Io
Eliza Madrigal: "Free Bruce and Blub"
    Bleu Oleander: :)
Eden Haiku: That is in advanced menu/rendering/info displays/avatar rendering costs
    Eden Haiku: Good morning Bleu...

    Free Bruce and Blub!

I hummed a silly little song with a few words to greet her : «Bleu, Bleu le ciel de Provence... dans tes jeux mon rêve en bleu bleu bleu."

Bleu Oleander: are you still in NYC?
Eliza Madrigal: Yay! Thanks Bleu and delighted to hear Eden's voice this morning...
    Io Larkspur: Good morning, Bleu!
    Eliza Madrigal: :::beaming:::::
    Eliza Madrigal: I'm in Miami...
Eliza Madrigal: back to basics :)
Alfred Kelberry: voice? i don't hear anything
Io Larkspur: I heard it too! -- a beautiful little song sung in French.
Bleu Oleander: are we in voice?
    Eliza Madrigal: Just Eden :)
    Bleu Oleander: ah
Alfred Kelberry: oh, i hear something :)
Eliza Madrigal: She is singing "Bleu Blue..."
Eden Haiku: No, I was just singing a Bleu welcome little song in voice :) with the word Bleu....
Bleu Oleander: oh, I can't hear it :(
Io Larkspur: THANK YOU for the solidarity poster and shirts, Bleu! When Bruce comes out of his catatonic state, I will share photos with him . . .
Eden Haiku: I will put new blue streaks in my new hair for you instead Bleu :)
    Bleu Oleander: oh ty!
    Bleu Oleander: yw Io!
    Eden Haiku: hehe
Bleu Oleander: I was struck by the bubbles still coming from Blub ....
    Bleu Oleander: beautiful Eden :)
Eden Haiku: Oh I see you have an agit-prop t-shirt to free Bruce and Blub! How nice!
Alfred Kelberry: um, are they being captured?
Eliza Madrigal: They have been captured...
    Eliza Madrigal: frozen in SL
    Eliza Madrigal: !
Bleu Oleander: they're captive in sl
    Alfred Kelberry: frozen?
Io Larkspur: Yes, Blub is still celebrating Basic Goodness - even though Bruce is frozen.
    Alfred Kelberry: :/
Bleu Oleander: funny to see the bubbles coming out of the cloud :)
Io Larkspur: as with Enya's song : "How Can I Keep from Singing" -- Blub says, 'How can I keep from bubbling.'
Eliza Madrigal: there are stories of meditators being gone for a long time, everyone seeing them in one spot, hehe
Alfred Kelberry: well, i hope they're fine whatever that is
Eliza Madrigal: and then people across the world being 'sure' that they encountered them
Eden Haiku: Thanks Bleu. I was putting on my 'Free Tibet' shirt to feel in the mood but this Free Bruce and Blub t-shirt will be even better!
    Bleu Oleander: ha!
Eliza Madrigal: And nice long sleeves since for many there are the first breezes of Fall...
Bleu Oleander: yes, chilly here this am
    Eden Haiku: Indeed...

    --BELL--

    The adjacent possible

Eden Haiku: On my screen, Bleu and Eden have been looking up for a few minutes. Wondering what they see up there...
Eliza Madrigal: yes I wondered too...
Eliza Madrigal: perhaps pizza moons ...
    Bleu Oleander: ha!
Eden Haiku: Read something really interesting about the "adjacent possible": on the web...
Eden Haiku: It seemed related to Riddle's tesseract in the Crooked House exhibit.
    Bleu Oleander: yes!
Eden Haiku: You get in a room with 4 doors.
Eden Haiku: Each one you take leads you to another room with 4 doors.(was wrong Kaufmann says 3 after the first one)
    Io Larkspur listens intently.
Bleu Oleander: life feels like that sometimes
Eden Haiku: And then any door you go through leads you to another room with 4 doors also.
    Eliza Madrigal: open doors?
Eden Haiku: And at the end, you get a palace. :)
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: interesting plotline :)
Eden Haiku: "The strange and beautiful truth about the adjacent possible is that its boundaries grow as you explore them. Each new combination opens up the possibility of other new combinations. Think of it as a house that magically expands with each door you open. You begin in a room with four doors, each leading to a new room that you haven't visited yet. Once you open one of those doors and stroll into that room, three new doors appear, each leading to a brand-new room that you couldn't have reached from your original starting point. Keep opening new doors and eventually you'll have built a palace."
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, I see... unfolding rooms
    Eliza Madrigal: unpacking...
Eden Haiku: Took a quick note without taking down the source. Will find it for the log.
(Here it ishttp://bit.ly/9tpslA , quote is from Stuart Kaufmann, on Scott Rosenberg's blog)
Bleu Oleander: take the landmark in Riddles photo
Eden Haiku: Unpacking yes, it looks like that Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: Thankfulness is like that too :)
Eden Haiku: Loved Maxine's report about fears of packing away from her space while her home is repaired…
Eliza Madrigal: like reverse nesting dolls...
    Io Larkspur: :-)
    Bleu Oleander: yes :)
Eliza Madrigal: Oh yes :) And coming upon forgotten things...
Io Larkspur: everyone wins and all shall have prizes.
Eden Haiku: Yes, I will do that about Riddle's landmark Bleu, very good idea.
Eliza Madrigal: we've already won and have prizes to distribute
Eden Haiku: Doesn'it sound a bit like a world without boundaries Alfred?
Eliza Madrigal: "Explore from the air? How can one explore from the air?" (english patient)
Eden Haiku: Reverse nesting dolls yes @Eliza!
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Eden Haiku: Oh, and the scenes in the grotto in "The English Patient". The swimmers on the wall...
Eden Haiku: Swimming in a sea of phenomena...
Eliza Madrigal: yes :) careful what you label a desert... Mmm, yes
Eliza Madrigal: Was struck yesterday, in the plane, that imagination itself is an object.... a box...
    Eliza Madrigal: room perhaps
Bleu Oleander: many boxes or just one?
Eden Haiku: Oh, how nice... yes Eliza?
Eliza Madrigal: we talk about concepts in that way... but yes many and one!
    Eliza Madrigal: and none
Eliza Madrigal: I donno.. just hit me as real this time ...
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: Woke up early, went back to sleep and I soon as I closed my eyes, I felt I was sitting in an airplane with grey seats. Thought about parallel worlds.
Eliza Madrigal: the way one can become more precise and that be expansiveness itself...
Eliza Madrigal: that there may be Eden in another spot?
    Bleu Oleander: many Edens?
    Eden Haiku: Yes...
Eden Haiku: Not even Eden.. some other RL avatar...who was "I"

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: there have been times in life where I felt my future self gave encouragement to past self... getting a taste of a larger picture or context...
Eliza Madrigal: (using the term self lightly)

    Two stories

Io Larkspur: I heard two stories this weekend about how "past" gave encouragement and healing to present. . .
Eden Haiku: Imagination as a box, i can relate to that.
Eliza Madrigal looks at Alfred :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Yes Io?
Io Larkspur: Did you hear about the renovation of the beams at Oxford (or maybe it was Cambridge...)?
    Bleu Oleander: yes?
    Eden Haiku: No.
Io Larkspur: in the grand hall. . . The beams holding the ceiling up were rotting.
Io Larkspur: They had been replaced 500 years ago. . .
    Eliza Madrigal: oh my
Io Larkspur: but were now rotting -- and no one knew where to get the same kind of wood to replace them.
Io Larkspur: because all over Europe the trees had been cut down.
Io Larkspur: But after doing research, they found that trees had been planted 500 years ago -- by the same people who last remodeled the Hall.
    Eliza Madrigal: Ohhh
    Eden Haiku: How nice!
    Eliza Madrigal: just in time?!
    Bleu Oleander: wow!
Io Larkspur: 500 years ago, those people were thinking of future needs for healing of the Hall.
Io Larkspur: (A lady at my Quaker Meeting yesterday told this story).
Eden Haiku: Beautiful story Io :)
    Eliza Madrigal: beautiful story! wonderful
Io Larkspur: so -- past heals present, in a sense.
Io Larkspur: also, another story. . .
Eliza Madrigal: or sometimes we are making preparations we don't know we're making... :)
Io Larkspur: I hope Calvino will not mind if I re-tell his story.
Io Larkspur: He had a men's group this weekend. . .
Eden Haiku: Ah yes, very true. A part of us prepare for something we are not yet aware of ...
Io Larkspur: and one of the men was hearing strong reprimands from his deceased father. . .
Io Larkspur: blaming and shaming him. . .
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh :(
Io Larkspur: so one of the other men in the group suggested that the ancestors be consulted. . .
Io Larkspur: the father's father... and his father... and his father.... etc.
Io Larkspur: and after a few minutes, the original man's father had ceased his reprimands.
Io Larkspur: Again -- "past" healing present.
Eliza Madrigal: ! Adams has a story like that...
    Io Larkspur: [end of stories]
Eliza Madrigal: Remarkable... doors were opened to hear from the ancestors...
    Eliza Madrigal: larger context :)
    Bleu Oleander: :)

    Support

    Eliza Madrigal ponders
Eden Haiku: pondering what Eliza is pondering
Eliza Madrigal: So much available sometimes all that is needed is 'support' to shed defenses...
    Eden Haiku: yes
    Eden Haiku: support
    Eden Haiku: I love support.
    Eliza Madrigal: Me too :)
Bleu Oleander: support is a good thing!
    Eden Haiku: We need it.
    Bleu Oleander: absolutely
    Eliza Madrigal: Basic Good :)
Eden Haiku: We have to go without it sometimes.
Eden Haiku: So we learn to go without.
Eden Haiku: And we get tired.
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eden Haiku: So we give support to replenish ourselves.
    Eliza Madrigal: ! :)))
    Bleu Oleander: yes!!
Io Larkspur: But Eliza is right, I feel -- Since Basic Goodness is the substrate for all Being, then we are always supported - whether we feel like it or not.
    Eliza Madrigal: YES
Eden Haiku: It does replenish when we give doesn't it?
Eliza Madrigal: that's what giving does...
Eliza Madrigal: it shows us how much is available...
    Eden Haiku: Yes.
Eden Haiku: We are basically supported that is true also, but sometimes we need to FEEL it.
Io Larkspur: Oh YES! I can surely FEEL the shift when my attitude is "Giving" rather than "having" or "taking" or "keeping."
    Eliza Madrigal: Mmmm, yes
Eden Haiku: And just a friend's wink might do it, a smile, a touch, a word...
Eliza Madrigal: sometimes support is a 'dare' as well... it is an imparted confidence
Io Larkspur: Yes, -- I like "imparted confidence."
Eliza Madrigal: "walk out onto the water'
Eden Haiku: Been supporting my friend with his work for days now and I feel so inspired!
Eliza Madrigal smiles widely... so encouraging

    --BELL--

Eden Haiku: My own well did refill by giving
Io Larkspur: Wonderful way to begin this day -- Thank you all -- and Happy Thanksgiving!
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, to you as well Io
Bleu Oleander: nice thoughts! have to go .... see you all later :)
Eliza Madrigal: And Bleu and Eden! (and Alf though he poofed)
Eden Haiku: Bye Io/Bruce, have a nice day :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hugs :)
    Bleu Oleander: bye ...
    Eden Haiku: (((Hugs ))
Eden Haiku: Bye Bleu, Eliza, have a great day!
Eliza Madrigal: Bye for now my friends :) Have a wonderful Thanksgiving day :)
    Eden Haiku: Bye ((((Eliza))))
