The Guardian for this meeting was Eden Haiku. The comments are by Eden Haiku.

Attending this lively session were Yakuzza, Archmage, Bertram, Bleu, Zen, Aphrodite, Bruce,  Storm, and briefly, Pema. still adjusting to Japanese time-zone (It was 1 am for him). A silent visitor stayed standing at the edge of the pavilion during the whole session and walked away as the last ones were leaving.

    Yakuzza Lethecus: good morning eden
Yakuzza Lethecus: very colorful today :)
Eden Haiku: Hola Yaku! Thanks :)
Eden Haiku: Are you settling back well after the retreat?
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, i am back into my old rythm
    Yakuzza Lethecus: sadly :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hi arch
Eden Haiku: Ah... by what you wrote here and there about the retreat, you seemed to have enjoyed it tremendously
    Yakuzza Lethecus: i did!
    Eden Haiku: hello Archmage, :)
Archmage Atlantis: Hi, Yaku :0 Hi Eden:)
Eden Haiku: You knew everyone already didn't you Yaku, at the retreat?
    Archmage Atlantis: Slow rezzing
Eden Haiku: Are you still with the slow connection Arch?
Archmage Atlantis: Not as slow, Eden
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, it was just a minor malta group
Archmage Atlantis: Not totally fixed tho
Yakuzza Lethecus: sadly mick, ara, fef and paradise wheren't there
    Archmage Atlantis: Hi, Bertram
Eden Haiku: Ah, good Arch. We like our speed don't we :)
    Bertram Jacobus: hey everybody :-)
    Archmage Atlantis: Hi Bleu
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey bertram
    Bleu Oleander: hi everyone :)
    Bertram Jacobus: hello bleu :-)
    Archmage Atlantis: Yes, Eden :)
Eden Haiku: Hey Bertram, you are wearing your woolen pull over already!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hi bleu
Bertram Jacobus: lol - yes : i had my first witer experience in sl just right before here now lol ... :-)
Eden Haiku: Hello Bleu, all-blue-Black Bleu
    Bertram Jacobus: winter*
Eden Haiku: Oh, please do tell us Bert!
Bleu Oleander: i like winter in sl :)
Eden Haiku: Oh, I read "writer"...
Bertram Jacobus: hehe - on a beautiful sim ... there is a part which fell already into winter season ... :-)
Bertram Jacobus: oh sry. no :o)
Eden Haiku: I was kind of expecting a reading from a chapter or from a poem you just wrote :(
    Eden Haiku: Did it snow?
Eden Haiku: Hope it will snow again in the new Kira cafe...I loved the snow there, you too Bleu I think
Bertram Jacobus: aarghs ! ;o) - sry again to disappoint you eden - but yeah : it snowed a little bit, very nice , not too much :-9
Bleu Oleander: yes, I requested snow from Storm :)
    Eden Haiku: giggles
Eden Haiku: hear hear dear Storm ;)
Eden Haiku: But I understand it's a matter of prims...
    Archmage Atlantis: Hello Alfred
    Bertram Jacobus: aarghs ! ;o)
    Alfred Kelberry: wee! :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hi alf
    Eden Haiku: Hi Alfred!
Bertram Jacobus: sry - try to deactivate it ... hi alf :o)
Alfred Kelberry: oh, eden... you're glowing :)
Alfred Kelberry: good to see you all :)
    Bleu Oleander: hi Alf
Archmage Atlantis: prims & pennies - the limits of so many things :)
Alfred Kelberry: pab is such a lovely continuation of rl :)
    Alfred Kelberry: prims?
Alfred Kelberry: you're talking about the cafe?
Eden Haiku: Some heart animation I got in Fael's store which is now located right at my doorstep, at the border of the village. So I can shop as soon as I step out as my boyfriend said :)
Alfred Kelberry: nice sweater and scarf, berty :)
    Bertram Jacobus: ty alfi :-))
Alfred Kelberry: i didn't know fael had a store

    --BELL--

Archmage Atlantis: Snow requires prims, Alfred, and the conversation was about Storm being limited in animating snow here because of prims..........and yes Fael has a nice store, tatoos and wings mostly when I was last there
Eden Haiku: Yes, it used to be located elsewhere, but now Fael's store is closer to the village, at the bordering sim, north.
Bertram Jacobus: i like your eyes alfi ... :-)
Alfred Kelberry: oh, yes... i really like snow prims
    Alfred Kelberry: berty :)
Eden Haiku: Are you joining us ******?

Yaku tells us a bit more about the retreat (as a few of us, I missed the reports session during the week end and the log wasn't posted yet)

Eden Haiku: Tell us more about your retreat Yaku. What is it you miss the most?
Bertram Jacobus: in contrary : ****** pleases always to be not in the logs (!) ...
Alfred Kelberry: *whispers* he's observing, eden
    Bertram Jacobus: hey zen :-)
    Alfred Kelberry: berty :) http://lmrk.me/lm/55
    Bertram Jacobus: *click* :-9
Eden Haiku: Oh, I thought he agreed about the recording at some point. He didn't ?
    Zen Arado: Hi All:)
    Alfred Kelberry: zen :)
    Eden Haiku: Hello Zen :)
Alfred Kelberry: eden, yes, i think so
    Archmage Atlantis: Hi, Zen :)
Eden Haiku: Well, I will leave out his name, just in case :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: well i kind of missed the sight seeing we had in malta
Bertram Jacobus: aww - how nice boxy - ty for letting see me that ! :-))
Alfred Kelberry: one can easily choose not to be in the logs - be silent :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: arabella was such a great tour guide on malta
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey zen
Alfred Kelberry: oh, yaku is a seasoned retreater :)
Eden Haiku: Ah no caves in the german woods :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: but sightseeing isn't really the purpose of a retreat, still it provided a 2nd dimension
Zen Arado: what is the purpose I wonder?
Alfred Kelberry: yaku, i think observing the surrounding is essential
    Bleu Oleander: hi Zen :)
Eden Haiku: What I really meant is how you feel is missing now, after the retreat? Less sleep now I suppose? Less meditation? Or maybe not?
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, it was a totally different daily pattern
Alfred Kelberry: eden, i think it's people :)
Zen Arado: I missed the report because I was so busy at weekend
Yakuzza Lethecus: i have a fixed pattern of associations related with many things i do in real life around here, on the retreat it was all more observant
Eden Haiku: Oh, yes, Bertram, you were there also. People...yes, for sure ...
Yakuzza Lethecus: here i feel like a victim of my habits again
Alfred Kelberry: victim... sounds tough :)
Eden Haiku: Associations Yaku, Lord of Warcraft and things like that ? hehe

Good habits, bad habits, awareness and the 9 seconds practice

Zen Arado: thinks the main thing is to see the habitual reactions
Archmage Atlantis: Habits are not bad things, they help us keep ourselves maintained in rl
    Eden Haiku: true
Archmage Atlantis: At least useful habits do :)
Bertram Jacobus: but bad habits are bad things ;-)
Zen Arado: so long as we aren't too imprisoned in them
    Bertram Jacobus: hi5 arch ;-)
Zen Arado: or if they are detrimental and holding us back
    Bertram Jacobus: hi aph :-)
    Zen Arado: Hi Aphro:)
Alfred Kelberry: and now we come to the problem of ethics again. what are bad and what are good habits? :)
Eden Haiku: Structured time versus unstructured time... Oh! First time I witness a hi5 here! Funny!
Bertram Jacobus: i don't find ethics problematical
Zen Arado: good question Alf :)
    Eden Haiku: Good morning Aphrodite
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hi aph
Eden Haiku: Meditation is certainly a good habit.
Alfred Kelberry: "certainly" - i like that :)
Zen Arado: maybe even just doing things automatically is bad
Bertram Jacobus: i know and feel mostly what is good and what is bad and am astonished how many people discuss that ...
Archmage Atlantis: Well, good vs. bad depends in part on the individual needs of a person
Eden Haiku: Do you do the 9 seconds break every 15 minutes? I often forget or just let go of t.
Zen Arado: habits are doing things without thinking?
    Bleu Oleander: hi Aph
    Aphrodite Macbain: Yes every 15
Alfred Kelberry: eden, how does pema do it? every 15 min as well?
Yakuzza Lethecus: i don't do the 9 seconds every 15 minutes
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am glad when i do it during the sessions
Bertram Jacobus: not necessarily zen i think, but mostly they appear like that
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Bleu
Alfred Kelberry: zen... looks like it
Eden Haiku: Yes. I see what you mean Zen, not being aware is a habit...
Aphrodite Macbain: Yesterday we had a session that became quite emotional. It was good to have those breaks
Eden Haiku: I never know: is it "an" habit or "a" habit?
Alfred Kelberry: is there an aware habit?
Eden Haiku: Great masters must have an "aware habit"...
    Aphrodite Macbain: I think so
Alfred Kelberry: in this respect you can't call meditation a habit, i guess

    --BELL--

Zen Arado: a habit Eden - an only before a vowel I think?
Bleu Oleander: some habits are good and we need them to exist in the world .... if we had to deliberate everything we would choke
Bertram Jacobus: hy bruce ! :-)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hi bruce
Zen Arado: awareness is the opposite for habit I think
    Zen Arado: Hi Bruce
Eden Haiku: Thank you Zen, so not in front of a "h", I confuse the 2 cause I always forget to pronounce the h :)
Bruce Mowbray says "Good day" to all and listens.
    Zen Arado: :)
    Eden Haiku: Good morning Bruce.
    Bleu Oleander: hi Bruce
Archmage Atlantis: Hmmmm, I suppose the local variant of English drops the "h", and would sound correct, though, when speaking *g*
Alfred Kelberry: zen, i agree. buddhist teachers refer to habits as part of our conceptual network.
    Archmage Atlantis: Morning, Bruce
Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Bruce. Is your guest still with you
    Archmage Atlantis: *an
Zen Arado: if you are aware you don't act from habit
Alfred Kelberry: eden, you say "abit" instead of "habit"? :)
Bleu Oleander: you have many habits that you are not aware of
Zen Arado: it's her French accent Alf
Eden Haiku: We have been talking about good habits versus bad habits. A conversation that reminds an emotional conversation of yesterday to Aphrodite I think. Care to tell us more about how you felt Aph?
Aphrodite Macbain: right a habit is done unconsciously
Bleu Oleander: can't be aware of everything ... not enough brain power for that
Bruce Mowbray: My "guess" left yesterday -- I am walking on my treadmill now -- can't type well. . . (listening to get the gist of this discussion now)
    Aphrodite Macbain: How I felt?
Zen Arado: mindfulness is a good antidote to acting from habit I think
Yakuzza Lethecus: it's funny i have the feeling that i learn the most when i have, no expectation and grasp at all"
Yakuzza Lethecus: when i just drop myself into a new situation
Bleu Oleander: mindfulness is good but cannot eliminate all habit
Eden Haiku: First hi5 this morning and someone on the treadmill a first also, wow, things happen here!

    True altruism versus selfishness

Aphrodite Macbain: We were discussing whether there was anything that could be considered true altruism
Yakuzza Lethecus: as soon as i "grasp" i am usually already in a pattern
Zen Arado: but if you practice seeing them they dissipate I think
Alfred Kelberry: yaku, like jumping in water when you can't swim? :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I was reading an article on the subject and I threw it out for discussion. I encourage you to read what was said yesterday at 1pm
Zen Arado: it takes a long time though
Bertram Jacobus: hello storm ! :-)
Aphrodite Macbain: on the subject of true altruism
    Storm Nordwind: Hi there!
Bleu Oleander: I'm reading that article Aph ... thanks for that :)
Eden Haiku: I didn't mean to launch again this topic Aphrodite, I was wondering why you felt it was so emotional?
    Zen Arado: Hi Storm
Archmage Atlantis: What a marvelous subject, Aph !
Alfred Kelberry: stormy the serious builder :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Storm.
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey storm
Eden Haiku: Good morning Storm! Our beloved snowmaker :)))
Alfred Kelberry: yes, can we please leave snow flakes? :)
Storm Nordwind: Oh - you want snow ?!
Alfred Kelberry: i heard they must go due to prim limit :/
Aphrodite Macbain: Every body's response was an emotional one. The idea that all our actions are engendered by selfishness did not go down well!
Zen Arado: too early for snow?
Alfred Kelberry: zen, not in the mountains :)
Bleu Oleander: Franz de Waal studies altruism in primates
Zen Arado: think it's a mixture
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes?
    Bleu Oleander: google him
Bleu Oleander: has much to say on the subject
Archmage Atlantis: Do you agree with that viewpoint Aph? I would.
Alfred Kelberry: aph, you mean that predominant motive in all our actions is selfishness?
Bleu Oleander: group cooperation is a strong motive
Alfred Kelberry: it's actually what social psychology says
Aphrodite Macbain: I'm thinking about it. But I do believe that we wouldn't do things that didn't serve our goals and needs

    Snow, altruism and oneness

As snow "magically' started falling on us [thanks to our altruistic snowmaster], I sang a few measures of "Jingle Bells" on voice, first "winter' song that popped to mind as I saw the snow coming in!

Storm Nordwind smiles at Eden's lovely song!
Bleu Oleander: oooo, nice early snow!
    Bertram Jacobus: lol
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
Alfred Kelberry: that even when you help someone, you do it to feel good about yourself
    Zen Arado: Christmas already :(
    Eden Haiku: Thank you Storm:)))
Zen Arado: but nice singing :)
Alfred Kelberry: oh, did storm just sing?
Yakuzza Lethecus likes eden's singing but very much dislikes all the christmas stuff 3 month before christmas
Alfred Kelberry: i missed it... :/
Aphrodite Macbain: didn't hear anything :-(
Eden Haiku: Snow has such a peaceful effect on the mind doesn't it?
Alfred Kelberry: yes, if there's no wind
Yakuzza Lethecus: of course now it's only 2 months before christmas but the stuff is all around for a month already
Alfred Kelberry: it feels lovely on a quiet day to see slowly falling snowflakes in a forest
Eden Haiku: You don't have to rush to buy presents Yaku, just enjoy the white peace falling from above..
Archmage Atlantis: I think that the reasons for the self-satisfaction are where the important elements are.......Running in front of a bus to save a child, for example
Zen Arado: if we are all one where is the altruism?
    Alfred Kelberry: zen :)
Bertram Jacobus: altruism is relative, not absolute
Storm Nordwind: An old teacher of mine said that he had to suspend his knowledge of oneness momentarily to achieve full compassion!
    Bleu Oleander: nice Storm :)
Aphrodite Macbain: this is getting closer to making sense
    Aphrodite Macbain: to me
Zen Arado: wonder why that was Srorm?
Eden Haiku: Saw a few snowflakes in RL in the mountains this week but first real snowfall happens in SL again this year, as last year. I love that :)
Alfred Kelberry: it's a good counter argument to social psych people :)
Bruce Mowbray: Is Tonglen ("taking and sending") practice altruistic?
    Zen Arado: think so Bruce

    --BELL--

Zen Arado: but if you do something that helps you and others - is that altruistic?
Zen Arado: helps ourself and others I mean
Archmage Atlantis: Storm, someone asked me in another meeting who was the architect here (meaning the PAB pavilion, I assumed)........I said I thought you were, but I couldn't confirm it.......is that information available on the PAB wiki some where?
Storm Nordwind: Who knows what is truly help and what isn't? We often project that we know best onto other people
Eden Haiku: It is both my experience and my strong conviction that most people are mostly altruistic most of the times.
Zen Arado: that's true too Storm
Alfred Kelberry: dropping oneness may be considered selfish
Storm Nordwind: (Yes Arch, I am the architect and builder of this particular pavilion)
Zen Arado: help by not helping
Bruce Mowbray: I think that the concept of "altruism" implies separation -- whereas Tonglen . . . ?
Zen Arado: help people to stand on their own feet
Bruce Mowbray: so, "altruism" is already pushing an illusion.
Zen Arado: altruism could be a feeling of oneness you get before thinking?
Aphrodite Macbain: I think we act to serve our own beliefs
Zen Arado: acting from a place of oneness?
Archmage Atlantis: Forced altruism is not real altruism
Aphrodite Macbain: and according to Thomas Hobbes, that is not altruistic but self serving
    Alfred Kelberry: aph, interesting thought

Scratching backs, onigokko, treadmill and a broomstick

Bleu Oleander: two theories of how altruism evolved are helping kin and offspring and mutual aid ... you scratch my back, i'll scratch yours
    Aphrodite Macbain: not mine!
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Bleu Oleander: ha!
Zen Arado: think the more we calculate actions the less altruistic they become
Eden Haiku: Yes Bleu! Please scratch my back :))
    Eden Haiku: onigokko
    Bleu Oleander: :))
Alfred Kelberry: stormy lost his tail
Aphrodite Macbain: There is nothing BAD about getting a good feeling from doing good, but Hobbes says that is still not altruistic
    Bleu Oleander: is this friday?
Eden Haiku: this is purely selfish
    Eden Haiku: stop
    Aphrodite Macbain: Heheh
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: refreshing
Aphrodite Macbain: Too ealy in the morning 4 me
Bleu Oleander: a little early for me too
Alfred Kelberry: i like floating hearts
Aphrodite Macbain: I am still working on my first cup of coffee
Zen Arado: remember having to study 'Leviathan'
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes?
Zen Arado: forgotten most of it
Aphrodite Macbain: He did have a depressing view of the world, didn't he?
Zen Arado: that we are atomistic individuals?
Bruce Mowbray: I've already walked three miles, but am altruistically happy to see others doing onigokko.
Zen Arado: like Maggie Thatcher :)
Aphrodite Macbain: life short and brutal
Zen Arado: yep - nasty brutish poor and short
    Aphrodite Macbain: in the rain?
Eden Haiku: 3 miles on treadmill Bruce? hehe
Bruce Mowbray: Does Maggie have a treadmill too?
Zen Arado: think she is too old :)
Zen Arado: maybe a broomstick ?
Aphrodite Macbain: why do you need a treadmill when you have the great outdoors all around you?
Bruce Mowbray: I am also too old -- but don't know that yet.
Aphrodite Macbain: Too old for what?
Archmage Atlantis: Life is both, brutal and beautiful......:)
Eden Haiku: ahaaha Halloween sneaking into this session, with Maggie on a broomstick....
Zen Arado: if you can do it you aren't too old :)
Bruce Mowbray: raining OUTSIDE -- but not in my bedroom.
Aphrodite Macbain: ah, now that explains it
Bruce Mowbray wants to hear more about Hobbes, etc.
    Archmage Atlantis: Or disabled physically
Aphrodite Macbain: It's my birthday on Friday and I'm going to celebrate by going on a 10k walk
Zen Arado: his idea of free will?
    Bruce Mowbray: yayyyyy APH!
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
    Bleu Oleander: great Aph
Eden Haiku: Nice way to celebrate Aphrodite!

    Discussing God

Alfred Kelberry: zen... if we're all one, does it mean there's only one god?
    Zen Arado: 20 th Aph?
Aphrodite Macbain: not sure if I want to celebrate getting older any more tho
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes, thanks Zen
Zen Arado: whatever God is Alf
Aphrodite Macbain thinks don't I wish?
    Zen Arado: wow Aph
Bleu Oleander: old is a state of mind and very linear thinking :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes! true
Zen Arado: good point Bleu :)
    Eden Haiku: agrees
Zen Arado: like that idea :)
Bertram Jacobus: old can be also bones - i notice such at least in my body ... ;-)
Aphrodite Macbain: we should think cyclically and start all over again every 30 years
Bruce Mowbray: works for me, Aph!
Alfred Kelberry: zen, i mean, notion of one god is not a buddhist one
    Bleu Oleander: every day Aph
    Aphrodite Macbain winks at Bleu
Archmage Atlantis: From snow to altruism to ageing.......quite a range :)
Alfred Kelberry: zen, i think... maybe we're all one as one ether?
Zen Arado: don't have a concept of God as a person
    Zen Arado: just everything interconnected
Aphrodite Macbain: more as life force/energy
    Alfred Kelberry: yoda :)
Zen Arado: maybe that is what you could call God?
Zen Arado: but why do we need such concepts?
Eden Haiku: One field of oneness like a white plain of snow...
Aphrodite Macbain: god as yoda... hmmm
Alfred Kelberry: one all we are :)
Bertram Jacobus: hi ***** and **** [Bert seems to heave been the only one seeing these]
Zen Arado: al just energy fields

    --BELL--

Eden Haiku: God as Alfred :)
    Alfred Kelberry: wait...
Bleu Oleander: quite a range of topics today ...
    Alfred Kelberry: :/
Zen Arado: glad I don't have to edit :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Thank you, everyone.
Aphrodite Macbain: lots of energy on a Monday
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care bruce
    Alfred Kelberry: *waves to bruce*
    Zen Arado: waves to Bruce
    Eden Haiku: Bye Bruce
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye! bruce
Bleu Oleander: bye everyone .... take care :)
    Archmage Atlantis: By, Bruce
Bruce Mowbray: bye for now - got a jump off the treadmill and fetch breakfast.
Aphrodite Macbain: come and visit some time
    Eden Haiku: Bye bye Bleu!
    Zen Arado: bye Bleu
Bertram Jacobus: bye bruce ... :-)
    Alfred Kelberry: hmm...
Eden Haiku: God lives in you as you Alf. As in Zen. As in all of us...
Alfred Kelberry: yes, i got that :)
Aphrodite Macbain: god/buddha - in our nature
Aphrodite Macbain: but maybe not our culture
Eden Haiku: Just more difficult to see God in great psychopaths...
Aphrodite Macbain: hmmm a terrible god
Alfred Kelberry: but then, one god as in we are all one contradicts "buddha within me" idea
Eden Haiku: The Rudra of the Hindus, is the Prince of Robbers, a killer, a destroyer...
Aphrodite Macbain: does god have to be a force for good only
Zen Arado: it's all only beliefs
    Zen Arado: to me anyway
Archmage Atlantis: Tis that time, the habit of doing chores calls, tho I can't say taking care of my non-human companions is altruistic, and I hope it doesn't snow here in the sub-tropics *g*....Bye, all....ty for a very enjoyable session.......Blessings and Namaste :)
Aphrodite Macbain: right. Hindu religion recognizes all aspects of ourselves
    Zen Arado: bye Arch
Eden Haiku: Sparks of electricity from the same powerhouse I would think.
    Eden Haiku: Bye Arch!
Storm Nordwind: I used to be overtly polytheist - working regularly with many gods. I guess I still acknowledge the presence of all of them
Bertram Jacobus: bye arch ... :-)
    Aphrodite Macbain: y arch
    Zen Arado: interesting Storm
Aphrodite Macbain: which ones inhabit me today, I wonder
Alfred Kelberry: storm, what i like in buddhism is the idea of a god within us
Zen Arado: Jesus said that too
Alfred Kelberry: not some omnipotent being up there
Eden Haiku: Ah, yes, polytheism and monotheism in the same breath. I'm like that too Storm:) Still worshipping the god of doors and treshsholds...
Zen Arado: .'The kingdom of heaven is within you'
    Aphrodite Macbain: Zen?
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes
    Eden Haiku: Hello Druth :)
    druth Vlodovic: hey all :)
Storm Nordwind: There aren't ANY omnipotent gods in my experience! ;-) Not one. Your mileage may vary!
    Zen Arado: Hi Druth :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Hi druth! How are you today!
    druth Vlodovic: not bad
Eden Haiku: We have been talking about a very light subject on this Monday morning: God.
Alfred Kelberry: storm, same for me

    The Puppy God

Alfred Kelberry: let's now talk about puppies :)
Zen Arado: not sure what God is when I think about it - so many concepts
Alfred Kelberry: they're cute and cuddly
    Aphrodite Macbain: puppies?
    Zen Arado: the puppy God
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Eden Haiku: Or kitties! My cat thinks she is some goddess of the universe...
Storm Nordwind: As far as my experience tells me, God doesn't exist but gods do.
druth Vlodovic: lol, I'd totally go to that church!
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Zen Arado: :)
Eden Haiku: A puppy church with running after a ball as worship!
Storm Nordwind: Cats are worthy of worship - I agree!
    Eden Haiku: onigokko
Alfred Kelberry: stormy, egyptians did so :)
Aphrodite Macbain: what is happening to us this morning?
    Eden Haiku: stop
Zen Arado: thinks Eden is restlees this morning :)
Alfred Kelberry: um... i'm having a good time :)
Eden Haiku: That was a service in the church of the puppy God Aphrodite :)
Aphrodite Macbain: the puppy god in the sky - what a terrifying idea
Zen Arado: dog is love :)
Eden Haiku: Not restless at all Zen :)
Alfred Kelberry: what buddism says about animals? i think we can reincarnate into a puppy in our next life, no?
Eden Haiku: Onigokko is not reserved to afternoon sessions...Why would it?
druth Vlodovic: I wouldn't mind being reincarnated as a cat
Zen Arado: ok Eden - thought onigokko going was a symptom
    Zen Arado: :)
Alfred Kelberry: i'd like to be bolt the super dog :)
Eden Haiku: I'd prefer be a cat. But then there is no hope for liberation from samsara from the animal realm :)
Alfred Kelberry: ok, it's a cartoon character. guess i can't be one :/
Zen Arado: my teacher says there is no zen position on things - you act from direct experience freshly in the moment
Aphrodite Macbain: I'd like to be one of my cats
Eden Haiku: That's what I'm telling to my cat: come back as a human if you want to drink from my glass of water...
Storm Nordwind: "bolt the super dog" sounds like an advert at an American diner ;-)
    Alfred Kelberry: zen, impermanence
    Zen Arado: yes
Alfred Kelberry: stormy, i see you've been to one :)
Eden Haiku: It does sound like something like that. Tell us more about the super dog Alf
Eden Haiku: Have a picture of him? [while Alf was looking, I googled the dog, imported the pic, and rezzed it on a frame in the pavilion]

    --BELL--

    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Zen Arado: only he is dead now :(
    Alfred Kelberry: wow!
Alfred Kelberry: ha! this is awesome! :)
Alfred Kelberry: who did that? :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: what?
    Aphrodite Macbain: what?
Eden Haiku: This is how Alfred would like to be in his next life!
    Alfred Kelberry: haha
Eden Haiku: googled him and imported the picture in SL.
Alfred Kelberry: thank you, eden :)
Aphrodite Macbain is overwhelmed by all this cool technology
Eden Haiku: Is he from the illustrator who passed away recently Zen?
    Zen Arado: who is?
Eden Haiku: I cannot open the facebook link as I still resist having a Facebook account :)
    Storm Nordwind: Very wise Eden
Zen Arado: the 2nd link should work - it's public
Alfred Kelberry: eden, same here. can't see the dog :/
Aphrodite Macbain: Going for breakfast. A big bowl of porridge will help face this incessant rain
Zen Arado: going to make dinner
Eden Haiku: Oh, you talked about your teacher Zen? Sorry, I was busy on the web...
Storm Nordwind: mmmm - oatmeal porridge - yum!
    Eden Haiku: Bon appetit Aphrodite!
    Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks!
Eden Haiku: Yes, I love porridge too mium miummmm
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye!
    Storm Nordwind waves
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care zen
    Zen Arado: bye
    Yakuzza Lethecus: everyone
Eden Haiku: Do you still eat porridge in Colorado Storm?
    druth Vlodovic: bye aphro
    Eden Haiku: Bye Yaku!
Storm Nordwind: Yes indeed - wonderful homemade porridge
Eden Haiku: Oh, that's so good.
Storm Nordwind: As long as someone else is cleaning pan afterwards!
Eden Haiku: Yes, that's the problem with porridge...
Eden Haiku: Wondering what a robot eats for breakfast, bolts?
    Alfred Kelberry: http://lmrk.me/lm/56
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
    druth Vlodovic: bits and bytes

    A Course in Miracles

Eden Haiku: I see you are a member of the group "Course in Miracles' Druth. I love the "course".
Alfred Kelberry: wait, porridge is actually oatmeal?
Eden Haiku: Oh thanks Alf. I will post your pic in the log!
Storm Nordwind: Boxy eats duct tape ... or perhaps Duck Tape
Alfred Kelberry: eden, thank you :)
Storm Nordwind: Porridge is a generic term for ... er... gloop... but in British Commonwealth countries, yes it's oatmeal
Alfred Kelberry: as for robo-food... hmm, not sure really. cookies maybe? :)
Eden Haiku: Pictures Alfred in front of his breakfast bowl filled to the rim with bolts, duct tape, bits and bytes :)))
druth Vlodovic: I'm afraid I'm not following the ACIM exercises with much diligence
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: stormy, thanks
druth Vlodovic: but it is a very interesting approach
Alfred Kelberry: i call it oatmeal
Storm Nordwind: Would you like to tell us more druth?
Eden Haiku: They are very powerful Druth. I did the course many years ago, for two years. After the completion of each year, I had a kind of "miracle", things unfolding in an amazing way.
Eden Haiku: From what I remember it boils down to one thing: there are two powers in the worlds: LOVE and FEAR.

    --BELL--

Storm Nordwind now lives in country where fear seems to be the weapon of choice in marketing, politics and religion!
druth Vlodovic: it is not only one of the strong forces, but the easiest to manipulate
Eden Haiku: And surrendering to LOVE is like switching the light ON in a dark room. It dispells all the FEAR.
Storm Nordwind: What happens, Eden, if you experience no fear?
Eden Haiku: It means you are living in love Storm :)
Storm Nordwind: Ah... that explains a lot :))
druth Vlodovic: it does, kind of
Eden Haiku: The whole course is about forgiveness. Exercises on how to let go of resentments, anxieties etc
druth Vlodovic: so much of what we do, and prevent ourselves from doing are based on negative feelings and blockages
Storm Nordwind doesn't remember what that must be like
Eden Haiku: I'm still struggling with fears. I wonder how you ditched all of them Storm. Were you born like that or was it a process?
druth Vlodovic: lol, I suppose negative would be interpreting that as smarmy, but living in love would see that as hopeful
    Storm Nordwind shrugs and smiles
    druth Vlodovic: wb yak
Eden Haiku: Yaku, you look so cute!
Yakuzza Lethecus: thx, hey druth :)
    Storm Nordwind: Very smart Yaku!
Eden Haiku: Love your suit and shirt and cap!
Yakuzza Lethecus: i had to help aph with her voice, and log in with viewer 2
Eden Haiku: On your way to some dressy event?
Yakuzza Lethecus: kinda weird that i wear something different with another viewer
Yakuzza Lethecus: that was just from the berlin of the 1920
Yakuzza Lethecus: it's the freebie dress there
druth Vlodovic: it only happens to me between SL2 and anything else, between 3rd party I have no problems
Yakuzza Lethecus: i played a little role at an theatre piece as part of the languages conference
Storm Nordwind: Eden, I guess I was largely born that way - or worked through it in past lives - though there's plenty I've worked on over the last 40 years or so
Yakuzza Lethecus: just to help out since they haven't had enough ppl
Eden Haiku: Berlin 1920, I bet you would never dress like that in RL ?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: never :)
Eden Haiku: Storm, do you remember one moment where a fear left?
Storm Nordwind: No. I have always been without fear. Always being happy, however, came with practice! :)
Eden Haiku: Ah yes, you are right, it's not the same:)
Eden Haiku: Druth, what has been your experience with the course up to now?
Storm Nordwind: Good very early morning Pema!
druth Vlodovic: like I said, I mainly just read the notecards harmonia sends me
    Pema Pera: hi everybody!
Alfred Kelberry: storm, wow... that's exceptional
Alfred Kelberry: pema-san peeks in :)
    druth Vlodovic: hi pema
Pema Pera: still going strong, almost two hours into a session?
Alfred Kelberry: oh... i didn't notice
druth Vlodovic: lol, we went from puppy gods to ACIM since I got here
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good evening pema
Alfred Kelberry: *giggles as storm falls asleep* :)
    Alfred Kelberry: um... pema
Alfred Kelberry: let me introduce you bolt - the super dog
    Pema Pera: yes?
    Alfred Kelberry: this picture :)
    Pema Pera: super puppie perhaps?
druth Vlodovic: we've all decided to be reincarnated as a god, preferrably this one :)
Eden Haiku: Oh hello Pema :)
Alfred Kelberry: eden kindly uploaded it here
Alfred Kelberry: um, yes, he can be
Pema Pera: so you can all play together in your next life?
    Eden Haiku: onigokko
Alfred Kelberry: yes, i'm going to play with eden the cat
Alfred Kelberry: if i gain enough karma points, of course
Eden Haiku: Druth do you have an onigokko?
    Eden Haiku: stop
druth Vlodovic: oops, forgot it :)

    --BELL--

    Time Zones

    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: *tries to catch a floating heart*
Eden Haiku: Onigokko would be our worship in church of the Puppy God :) What time is it for you Pema?
Alfred Kelberry: are those yours, eden? :)
Pema Pera: it's almost 1 am here in Kyoto, Eden
Eden Haiku: The hearts, yes, from Fael.
    Alfred Kelberry: ah, yes
Eden Haiku: Oh, after a long day of work I suppose?
Eden Haiku: Are you still jet-lagged?
Pema Pera: a long day yes, part work fun, part other fun, as usual
    Eden Haiku: Great:)
Pema Pera: and getting used to the Japanese time zone again
Alfred Kelberry: i can't see pema "hard working" :)
Alfred Kelberry: i think he does everything in a playful manner :)
Eden Haiku: I'm Monday morning as well as Storm, I'm not sure for Druth and Alfred is always very mysterious about where he lives... (And I'm very curious)
druth Vlodovic: I'm working on lunch time
Alfred Kelberry: eden, why is it so important for you?
Eden Haiku: Oh and Yaku is in the afternoon as you know...
    Eden Haiku: Just curious...hehe
Eden Haiku: But that's ok Alf, it contributes to your aura of mystery...
    Alfred Kelberry: :/
    Pema Pera: :-)
Eden Haiku: Ah so you are from East Coast of one of the Americas Druth :)
Alfred Kelberry: i like pab for this particular reason that you can drop the labels and just play as being
Eden Haiku: I'm a kind of human google map. I do collect maps in RL.
    Alfred Kelberry: no mystery involved
Eden Haiku: Am playing as being a map
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Eden Haiku: Or as a cartographer rather.
Alfred Kelberry: here be dragons :)
Pema Pera: we can play both as specifics and as Being :-)
    druth Vlodovic: Canada
Eden Haiku: Ah, me too Druth. Montreal. And you?
    druth Vlodovic: near Ottawa
Eden Haiku: Nice to meet you :)
Eden Haiku: Playing as Being only would make us vanish into the Void wouldn't it Pema? Or into psychosis?
druth Vlodovic: really? I thought being french and english canadian made us natural enemies lol
Alfred Kelberry: druth, this is the kind of thing that labeling introduce :)
Pema Pera: Being expresses itself in and as everything . . .
Eden Haiku: We can play as enemies if you prefer, that's for sure. I was trying to be friendly Druth.
druth Vlodovic: I'm kidding, it is interesting how the 'net can bring people together
druth Vlodovic: I almost feel it is a betrayal of potential to reveal rl information
Pema Pera is eyeing his watch, and deciding that 1 am is a good time to try to get some sleep
Eden Haiku: That's a very touchy subject to be kidding about, isn'it Druth?
    Eden Haiku: Sweet dreams Pema.
Pema Pera: good seeing you all, even though briefly!
Alfred Kelberry: i think i'm off as well
    Storm Nordwind waves
    Pema Pera waves to everybody
Alfred Kelberry: thank you for the company
Eden Haiku: Bye Alfred :) Take care .
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care alf,pema
druth Vlodovic: sorry eden, it wasn't meant that way
    Eden Haiku: Church bells...
Eden Haiku: That's ok Druth. It does mean I will be on my toes around you...unfortunately.
Storm Nordwind: Would you please excuse me... so good to see you all, but RL calls
    druth Vlodovic: have fun storm

    --BELL--

Eden Haiku: Bye Storm, it was nice having you this morning. And thanks a lot for the snow!
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am also logging out for an hour, nice to see all of you
    druth Vlodovic: bye yak
    Eden Haiku: Bye Yaku!
druth Vlodovic: ah well, it was fun
    druth Vlodovic: bye guys
    Eden Haiku: Bye Druth.
    Eden Haiku: Bye ******.
