Wol Euler was guardian for this session.

    Wol Euler: hello arch
    Archmage Atlantis: Helllo Wol :)
Archmage Atlantis: Warmly dressed it appears :)
    Wol Euler grins.
    Wol Euler: seasonally approopriate
Wol Euler: even if there are hardly any seasons here
Wol Euler: or only optional ones
    Agatha Macbeth: Good morning :)
    Archmage Atlantis: Hi, Agatha :)
    Wol Euler: good morning, aggers.
Agatha Macbeth: You made it awake then? :p
    Wol Euler: oh yes :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hee
Wol Euler: still feeling a bit jetlagged though :)
    Wol Euler: life-lagged
    Agatha Macbeth smiles
Agatha Macbeth: We all get that
    Wol Euler nods and smiles
Archmage Atlantis: You been traveling then Agatha?
Agatha Macbeth: Only in the astral realms :)
Wol Euler: no, I'm just not getting enough sleep lately, for personal and work reasons. It feels like jetlag
    Archmage Atlantis: Ah, yes :)
Agatha Macbeth: Had a weird dream last night: I kept finding myself logged into SL as Adams :)
    Wol Euler: heheh
    Agatha Macbeth: Dunno why
Wol Euler: how did that feel?
    Agatha Macbeth: Adams-ish? :)
    Wol Euler: heh
Wol Euler: so you looked at Adams and thought "there I am"?
Archmage Atlantis: I think that a was tautology
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe I'm a frustrated art historian
    Wol Euler: :))
Wol Euler: or did you see Adams and know it wasn't you, and wonder why you looked that way?
Agatha Macbeth: No, I was just talking to people as Adams, weird
Wol Euler: so you were her :) fascinating.
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Agatha Macbeth: I was going on about the Knights Templar or something
Wol Euler: I'm sure Maxine would like to hear about htat in her dream workshop
    Agatha Macbeth: Mmm
Archmage Atlantis: I can't remember any dreams where I wasn't myself
Agatha Macbeth: Lucky you Arch :)
    Wol Euler: :)
    --BELL--
Archmage Atlantis: Hmmm........I don't know, I've had plenty of disturbing dreams (not recently tho), but I was always me
Wol Euler: I can't remember not being the centre of the dream, not being the prime actor, the camera
Wol Euler: but I have dreamed in a variety of bodies and appearances. I have dreamed as all of my alts :)
Agatha Macbeth: Is that technically 'you' then?
Wol Euler: I would say yes :)
Archmage Atlantis: I would say yes also
Wol Euler: because they are personalities that arise out of me
    Agatha Macbeth: Right
Wol Euler: and in those cases the dreamer was the centre of the dream.
Archmage Atlantis: That is what makes your dream so interesting Agatha, that you conceived yourself as a completely different person whom you know
    Wol Euler: right
Wol Euler: like dreaming about being John Travolta
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh dear
Wol Euler: well, not quite, Olivia Newton-John maybe
Agatha Macbeth: I hope that never happens!
    Wol Euler: heheheh
Agatha Macbeth: Don't want to be dancin round a funfair like an idiot
    Wol Euler: :)
Archmage Atlantis: Is that a comment on John Travolta the actor, or just on being someone like him
    Archmage Atlantis: ?
Agatha Macbeth: I was never too fond of him, no
Agatha Macbeth: Or Olivia thingy either
Wol Euler nods.. Pulp fiction changed my mind, though
Archmage Atlantis: Ah, ok.......I wasn't either in his earlier years
Archmage Atlantis: He's mellowed out a bit in his old age :)
    Wol Euler: :)
    Wol Euler: don't we all
Agatha Macbeth: It's called slowing down
Wol Euler: it's called realizing you don't have to run *everywhere*
    Wol Euler smiles.
Agatha Macbeth: Grinding to a halt
Wol Euler: one of the great things about getting older is being able to stop doing stuff, saying "Well, thank god I'll never have to do *that* again"
    Agatha Macbeth: True
Wol Euler: I should attend a party with people I don't like because it might be good for my career? fuck that.
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Archmage Atlantis: Some *that* s true, some I miss :)
    Wol Euler: oh yes :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Goes both ways...
    Wol Euler bites her tongue
    Agatha Macbeth: Oi
    Agatha Macbeth: :p
    --BELL--
Archmage Atlantis: I haven't been to any PaB meetings, nor read the logs, for a few days........the last time I was here, there were spam hate posters all around
    Agatha Macbeth: ??
    Wol Euler: ?
Archmage Atlantis: I guess someone figured out how to get rid of them
Wol Euler: I wonder how they got put up here, it's a no-rez zone
Agatha Macbeth: For non-group members anyway
Archmage Atlantis: They were outside, surrounding the pavilion
    Wol Euler: huh
Wol Euler: never heard about that
    Agatha Macbeth: Me either
Archmage Atlantis: I've seen more griefers / spammers at all meetings over the last month or so
Agatha Macbeth: They don't have anything better to do
Archmage Atlantis: Guess I'm just in the right place at the wrong time :)
    Wol Euler: guess so.
    Agatha Macbeth: That is sad
Agatha Macbeth: All it will do is drive people away from SL
Archmage Atlantis: It is sad, but it is a constant in human behavior to some degree
    Wol Euler: vandalism
    Wol Euler: basically
    Archmage Atlantis: yes
    Wol Euler: pohne
    Agatha Macbeth: express?
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
Archmage Atlantis: pohne = pony then *g*
Agatha Macbeth: That will probably be the boss: 'can you work twice as long today?'
Archmage Atlantis: It's more insiduous than a simple request.......it is the pressure of keeping employed in todays environment when businesses are still cutting back and so many people are looking for work
    Agatha Macbeth: Mm, yes
Archmage Atlantis: My experience, however, is that is somewhat of an illusion, the work seems to strech out to fill the time, rather than more work getting done :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Parkinson's law
Archmage Atlantis: But it does appear to management that working longer is working more - when actually working smarter is a more rational basis
    Archmage Atlantis: Oh well
Agatha Macbeth: Working smarter helps, certainly
Archmage Atlantis: At least I don't have to worry about that any more :)
    Agatha Macbeth smiles
    --BELL--
Agatha Macbeth: What did these posters say then Arch?
Archmage Atlantis: Most were swastika's or hate speach
Agatha Macbeth: Not even very original then
Archmage Atlantis: Nothing I'd want to repeat
Archmage Atlantis: No, not original at all
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh dear
    Wol Euler: bck
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello :)
Agatha Macbeth: How long are you working today then?
Wol Euler: oh not long, four or five hours only
    Agatha Macbeth: Not too bad
Wol Euler: if I play my cards right, I can finish everything today and have tomorrow off!
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
Archmage Atlantis: But today is Saturday, having to work on Saturday is extra, isn't it?
Wol Euler: the same hourly rate, if you mean that. But I do at least get paid by the hour
Wol Euler: and I'm having two weeks off at the end of the month
    Wol Euler: it balances out.
    Archmage Atlantis: k
Wol Euler: boss has taken 3 days of holiday so far this year, he works nearly every weekend too
Wol Euler: it's hard but it's not exploitation
Agatha Macbeth: Still seems crazy tho
Wol Euler smiles and shrugs. We are being driven by the construction site, we have to keep ahead of them
Wol Euler: and have to whip the others on.
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
Wol Euler: the architect is responsible for things that s/he does not control
Wol Euler: like whether company X turns up to do its work on time
    Agatha Macbeth: There's the rub
Wol Euler: it's our fault if they don't
Archmage Atlantis: A too common occurance I would imagine, the not turning up that is
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Agatha Macbeth: Bit like the telecommunications people
Wol Euler: live webcams make that a ittle easier :) we can see whether anyone is htere or not
Wol Euler: in the bad old days they'd say that they turned up, and found that they couldn't work because there were fallen leaves on the driveway
Wol Euler: now we know they didn'T bother to turn up
Agatha Macbeth: Wrong kind of snow

This was and probably still is an excuse given by British Rail for delays in winter.

    Wol Euler: exactly.
Archmage Atlantis: Just means more creative excuses sometimes I suppose :)
    Wol Euler: yes
Wol Euler: oh, I heard a new one last week.
    --BELL--
Wol Euler: our tiling contractor can't start in week X because he promised his wife that they would make the Hajj to Mecca that week.
    Archmage Atlantis: Chuckle
    Agatha Macbeth: Wow
Wol Euler: which is fine, exept that the timetable was included in the tender documents that he signed on for, six months ago
Wol Euler: so I ask: is this my problem?
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe they moved the dates :p
Archmage Atlantis: Are there any penalties built into the tender documents?
    Wol Euler: of course
Wol Euler: but I guess there are penalties built into his domestic arrangements too :)
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
Archmage Atlantis: Well, that's the best anyone can do, enforce the penalties
Archmage Atlantis: Then it's his problem for not coordinating the 2
Wol Euler: sure, in itself it's not significant. The problem is that the tiles have to be laid before the following trades
Wol Euler: he delays everyone else for the coming N months
    Agatha Macbeth nods
    Archmage Atlantis: understant
Wol Euler: and that frees them from the timetable in *their* contracts
Agatha Macbeth: Ah well, I need to get some shopping done
    Wol Euler smiles and nods
Wol Euler: shop wisely, dear aggers.
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, it is time to move on to chores
Agatha Macbeth: No Fracture tonight then?
Wol Euler: but a bit indulgently too,
Wol Euler: not tonight, no DJs
    Archmage Atlantis: Bye, Agatha
    Agatha Macbeth: :(
    Archmage Atlantis: Bye Wol
Wol Euler: bye arch, sleep well
    Archmage Atlantis: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Enjoy the day
Wol Euler: I may well go there anyway, listen to the stream
    Agatha Macbeth waves
