The Guardian for this meeting was SophiaSharon Larnia. The comments are by SophiaSharon Larnia. I sat alone in the pavilion for almost 1/2 hr, just looking at the fountain water and listening to the birds.... and then Calvino arrived, followed by Paradise and Stevenaia.

Calvino Rabeni: OK thanks, I'm expecting a long car trip tomorrow so trying to save my energy for the drive

Calvino Rabeni: Returning to Seattle after a month away
SophiaSharon Larnia: ooh
Calvino Rabeni: It feels like a seasonal migration
Calvino Rabeni: except in the wrong direction :)
Calvino Rabeni: Going north for the winter

SophiaSharon Larnia: I would miss the colder weather so I'd be one of the contrary ones :)

Calvino Rabeni: I was talking to someone here yesterday, about her getting a winter wardrobe for doing outdoor meditations
SophiaSharon Larnia: hmm
Calvino Rabeni: with a big down coat about 5 inches thick and a hood like they use at the south pole
Calvino Rabeni: I was thinking, "that's dedication" to a practice :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: sitting in one place or moving ? Hard to move in that I guess
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes
Calvino Rabeni: Sitting meditation,yes
SophiaSharon Larnia: well, i guess theres a real danger of not feeling the cold like you normally would
Calvino Rabeni: Well, or of frostbite
SophiaSharon Larnia: if you havent mastered the art of being impervious to it :)

Calvino Rabeni: they use handwarmers and hot tea, but that sit's gonna happen :)

SophiaSharon Larnia: like a polar bear club that goes swimming in the ocean in the winter

Calvino Rabeni: Today during my sit there was a gasoline engine leaf blower outside the window ... for pretty much the same period of the sit ... at one point I thought I might be imagining it :)

Calvino Rabeni: Haha, yes, it could be a reality TV show in Japan

Calvino Rabeni: To see how much people can resist cold and noise and disturbances during meditation

SophiaSharon Larnia: I made some hot spiced wine with cloves the other day, it was sooo good, but I was asleep about an hour after drinking it :)
