The Guardian for this meeting was Storm Nordwind. The comments are by Storm Nordwind.

    Alfred Kelberry: oi, stormy
    Storm Nordwind: Hi there Alfred
Alfred Kelberry: how are things with you and michele?
Storm Nordwind: All getting better thank you
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    --BELL--
Alfred Kelberry: had a quick chat with eliza :)
    Alfred Kelberry: she says hi
    Storm Nordwind smiles

Alfred has an opinion about the pool.

Alfred Kelberry: hey, how about making the water transparent in the pond?
    Storm Nordwind: Why?
Alfred Kelberry: cause it's prettier :)
Storm Nordwind: Only if the bottom of the pool is pretty!
Alfred Kelberry: you can put plants and rocks on the bottom
Storm Nordwind: That would make it very busy
    Alfred Kelberry: busy?
Alfred Kelberry: what's so busy about it?
Storm Nordwind: Busy as opposed to simple and uncluttered
    Alfred Kelberry: nah
Alfred Kelberry: it'll be just a like a lovely koi pond in some japanese garden :)
Alfred Kelberry: look how the fishes look harmonically in the water
Alfred Kelberry: including this green patch of grass

That would be extra stuff to make vanish when we have an intimate group of visitors. But I take a different tack...

Storm Nordwind: Personally I don't it fits the overall style. But that's just personal style and taste. Someone must like it and I haven't removed it
Alfred Kelberry: you're the first one i know who didn't :)
Alfred Kelberry: oh, maybe also archy
Alfred Kelberry: he doesn't like change either
Storm Nordwind: Well I have advanced sensibilities ;-)
Storm Nordwind: Change is fine, but change for changes sake is redundant
Alfred Kelberry: for sake of estatic enhancement :)
Storm Nordwind: Sure if it works. But if it doesn't then I don't do it.
Alfred Kelberry: opaque water looks dull in v2 time :)
    Alfred Kelberry: um
    Storm Nordwind: v2 time?
Alfred Kelberry: or is it otherwise?
Alfred Kelberry: yes, sl is advancing
    Storm Nordwind: please explain
Alfred Kelberry: if you see water it's nice and realistic in sl these days
Alfred Kelberry: it wasn't possible in v1 times, i believe
Storm Nordwind: In what way different?
Alfred Kelberry: same with new prims...
Alfred Kelberry: um, more realistic you could say
    Storm Nordwind: But how?
Storm Nordwind: Good morning ELiza :)
Eliza Madrigal: Morning Storm, Hi Alfred :))
Alfred Kelberry: cause transparent water is more realistic than one in this pond :)
    Alfred Kelberry: eliza! :)
Alfred Kelberry: glad you made it :)
    Eliza Madrigal: thank you!
Eliza Madrigal: everyone seems preoccupied with the pond lately... what's up with that...

...I hadn't noticed, but then I've been busy.

Storm Nordwind: I am not after realism for realism's sake. I am after artistry, welcoming mood and - important - something that works in the worst possible viewers!
Alfred Kelberry: ah, good luck supporting ie6 then :)
Storm Nordwind: ie6 doesn't run sl silly
Alfred Kelberry: ok, a figure of speech :)
Storm Nordwind: but the Kira website supports it
Alfred Kelberry: and again, each's sake is different :)
    --BELL--
Alfred Kelberry: do you like the fishes in the pond, eliza? :)
Eliza Madrigal: I certainly don't mind them
Alfred Kelberry: oh, it's vic's seminar at 9 am

Eliza has an opinion about the box.

Eliza Madrigal: the box doesnt seem to work though
Eliza Madrigal: seems to belong on land
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: it does
Alfred Kelberry: gives me a note
Eliza Madrigal: the note is great
Eliza Madrigal: but looks odd for the box to be in the pool... just a preference I guess and I'm here not to have too many.... heheh
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Eliza Madrigal: or at least not to be preoccupied by them
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: we all are
Alfred Kelberry: even when you meditate, you do it a certain way :)
Storm Nordwind: To me it's ugly and the lotuses don't work either, but no one has asked me to remove them
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, there should be an asker? can the box be moved without being removed?
Alfred Kelberry: stormy the purist :)
Storm Nordwind: stormy the artist :)
Storm Nordwind: It could yes Eliza, but only by the owner in this particular case it seems
Eliza Madrigal: ah, okay... maybe will ask owner then
Eliza Madrigal: What else is going on? art as being?
Alfred Kelberry: what "artistic" addition would look nice in the pond, stormy?
Alfred Kelberry: art as pond :)
Eliza Madrigal: I've written a little, but not doing so well with pictures
Eliza Madrigal: :)) Art as pond

I suddenly remove the pond. The koi are flat and swimming in mid-air above a set of cushion. The water lilies are like a floating platform. The box is above that. When you sit on some cushions, the fish go through you or your avatar intersects the box. Perhaps two pond configurations hadn't been considered...

    Alfred Kelberry: poof :)
Storm Nordwind: Some things look a little silly now perhaps?
    Alfred Kelberry: why?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Alfred Kelberry: not enough realism, stormy? :)
Storm Nordwind smiles and shakes his head
    Eliza Madrigal: the pab mandala
Alfred Kelberry: mandala... is it heaven?

I admit to not having a contribution for the latest exhibition - the first time I've missed it.

Storm Nordwind: I have sat out this particular Art as Being project Eliza
    Eliza Madrigal: ah, bummer
Storm Nordwind: The time when it was happening - at least the research part of it - I was somewhat preoccupied with health issues
    Eliza Madrigal nods
    Alfred Kelberry: huh?
Eliza Madrigal: must admit to scrambling a bit... but some of the conversations we've had along the way have been fascinating
Storm Nordwind: And the work I did for New School (that you've read) is proprietary to them - or so I assume - and I should probably not recycle it
    Eliza Madrigal: ah, yes...
    Alfred Kelberry: new school?
Eliza Madrigal: for me I just mused aloud on explorations I dipped a toe into

    Having no friends.

Eliza Madrigal: and also... I realized this month that my alt is free because...
Eliza Madrigal: she has no friends!
Alfred Kelberry: didn't know you had one, eliza :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Storm Nordwind: Reminds me of a South Park episode!
Eliza Madrigal: I even removed a few friends this morning... that I'd picked up
    Eliza Madrigal: heheh
    Eliza Madrigal: she's ruthless
    Storm Nordwind: http://www.southparkstudios.com/full...have-0-friends

    Counting friends, here and elsewhere.

Alfred Kelberry: is ther ea limit on friends in sl?
    Eliza Madrigal: good question
Storm Nordwind: Ruthless, not Ruthed! ;)
    Eliza Madrigal: hehehe
Storm Nordwind: I'm not aware of limit - unlike groups
Storm Nordwind: But maybe Alfred can tell us about such things in "v2 time" ;)
Alfred Kelberry: someone should set out to see if there is one :)
Eliza Madrigal: well, but I noticed that she seemed free-er to speak her mind and I wondered what that was all about... then I realized that she has a whole diff way of being in SL... not friend based
    Storm Nordwind nods
Eliza Madrigal: yes you should Alf!
Alfred Kelberry: i'll send you a postcard, stormy :)
Alfred Kelberry: ok, let's play sl friends game
Alfred Kelberry: one who has the most wins :)
    Eliza Madrigal: eeek
    Eliza Madrigal: my alt loses
    Alfred Kelberry: :P
Storm Nordwind: I have zero facebook friends. It can stay that way. So in SL... :meh
    Eliza Madrigal laughs
Alfred Kelberry: ah, there's no total number... i don't feel like counting :)
Eliza Madrigal: I prune my lists...
    --BELL--
Alfred Kelberry: stormy, same for me, although when i log in there (once every few months) i see a lot of activity, a bunch of notes, suggestions, and other silly things :)
Eliza Madrigal: yes strange no total number. When I take someone off, after not seeing them for a long time, then I see them... seems to happen that way. hah
Alfred Kelberry: it's like i've been there all this time :)
Storm Nordwind: Seems I have 86 SL friends
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Alf
Alfred Kelberry: 86? did you count? :)
Eliza Madrigal: you mean you don't keep up farms and cake shops? hehehe
Storm Nordwind: And I have 185 Twitter followers - a number that keeps climbing as people keep following me even though I've hardly posted for 6 months!
Alfred Kelberry: i haven't heard of cake shops yet :)
Alfred Kelberry: ha! same here :)
Alfred Kelberry: our social profiles live their own lives :)
Eliza Madrigal: 97 friends here, but some of them are doubles :)
Storm Nordwind doesn't even have a facebook account - unless someone has tried to steal his identity and impersonated him
    Alfred Kelberry: *registers storm nordwind*
Eliza Madrigal: :)) :::wheels begin to turn::::::
    Storm Nordwind shrugs
Alfred Kelberry: *makes a quiet evil laugh*
Eliza Madrigal: I love facebook for its integration potential, though it sometimes goes awry
Alfred Kelberry: eliza, that's their mission. to integrate you.
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: it is a decent 'coming out' tool in various ways
Alfred Kelberry: the buzz for this year is "personalization"
Storm Nordwind: Anyone who does anything like that to me Alfred would find themselves on the the wrong end of some extremely nasty curses. I have my own way of being evil that's far more effective than most. >;->
Eliza Madrigal: Oh? that makes my head hurt... personalizing everything....
Alfred Kelberry: oh, he took it seriously :)
    Eliza Madrigal: monogrammed stuff
Eliza Madrigal thinks Alf and I are least likely to make a storm facebook account
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: *smiles*

To get back in touch or not to get back in touch.

Eliza Madrigal: What has been nice, is checking in with people from many years ago
Eliza Madrigal: and finding that whatever separated us evaporated somewhere
Eliza Madrigal: which doesn't mean wanting to recreate anything over again
Storm Nordwind: Interesting. I've found that there's almost no one that would be beneficial for me to check in with from the past. A few exceptions of course, but largely true
Eliza Madrigal: hmm, for me there were quite a few
Eliza Madrigal: when I change I tend to change everything maybe...
Alfred Kelberry: how would you know, stormy?
Eliza Madrigal: but now not so much so
    Storm Nordwind: Clairvoyance Alfred ;)
Alfred Kelberry: maybe some old friend of yours is living close by and you don't even know
Alfred Kelberry: it reminds me of something else really. i should find a picture :)
Eliza Madrigal: that said, I may have emptied out that curiosity about now... re people from the 'past'
Eliza Madrigal: think all the suspects are accounted for, heh
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
Eliza Madrigal: I couldn't load the video for some reason, btw
Storm Nordwind: It's a very long video. Try offline from SL
Eliza Madrigal: k, now I should go ... exploring SL more these days
Eliza Madrigal: nice to check in, have a lovely day
Storm Nordwind: Well you look radiant and are bound to create an impression :)
    Alfred Kelberry: bye, eliza
    Eliza Madrigal: Thank you :)))
    Storm Nordwind smiles
    Eliza Madrigal: bfn and hugs
    Storm Nordwind waves
Alfred Kelberry: *munches on a waffle*
Alfred Kelberry: lugh the acid guy :)
    Lugh Fehr: hellow :)
    Storm Nordwind: Greetings :)
    Lugh Fehr: :)
    --BELL--
    Lugh Fehr: any topics today?
Storm Nordwind: We were talking about friends in SL and elsewhere earlier
Storm Nordwind: And Alfred was "commenting" on the pool
Lugh Fehr: i thinck we havnt met yet storm?
Storm Nordwind: But beyond that, nothing
Storm Nordwind: I believe you're right Lugh
Lugh Fehr: pls to meet you then :)
    Storm Nordwind: And likewise :)

    What brings friends together?

Lugh Fehr: coinsidence the question poped in my mind yesterday what attracts to friends together
Storm Nordwind: Did you find any answers?
Lugh Fehr: i thinck its a simmiler basic world view
Storm Nordwind: Does that imply that without a similar world view, being friends is less likely or even out of the question?
Lugh Fehr: some thinck its hummeros and some thinck its serios i thinck thats the most seperating thing
Lugh Fehr: you can be firends but you wont hang out i thinck
Lugh Fehr: its not erm religoin or anything like that its just the bacik way you look at things
    Storm Nordwind nods
Storm Nordwind: Is "hanging out" a sign of friendship then? I wonder if that's alwys possible - or even if possible whether it's always desirable
Lugh Fehr: hanging out shows you that your enjoying his company for me thats the biggest compliment their are other forms of friend ship but i thinck thats the peak of it when you call up someone and say hey do you wonna do somthing, dont matter what as long as we hang out
    Storm Nordwind nods
Storm Nordwind: "Being as Friends" :)
Lugh Fehr: but most people put that and sex in the same box and we have marrige in our culture
    Storm Nordwind shrugs
Lugh Fehr: hehe yes being as fiends
Alfred Kelberry: *just clicked that link from storm* :)

    Being married to your friend.

Storm Nordwind: Marriage can be good. I have some little experience in that direction ;)
Alfred Kelberry: "you guys are retarded, i'm going to play xbox" :)
    Lugh Fehr: hehehe enjoy alphi
Storm Nordwind: Alfred is referring to the link I gave out earlier when we were taling about Facebook...
    Storm Nordwind: http://www.southparkstudios.com/full...have-0-friends
Lugh Fehr: yeah i was joking :)
    Alfred Kelberry: lugh ^^
Lugh Fehr: This webpage has a redirect loop
Lugh Fehr: how long have you been married
    Lugh Fehr: ?
Storm Nordwind: Well this is my fourth marriage. This one just a year and a half. But in total about 35 years
Alfred Kelberry: haha! it's an awesome episode, stormy :)
Lugh Fehr: ahh then you have alot of expirence in that direction :)
Storm Nordwind: I don't like to overstate the case :)
Lugh Fehr: are you married alph?
Alfred Kelberry: oh, stormy. you're an expert in marriage.
Storm Nordwind: I know what works and what doesn't. What is OK for now and what lasts. I just took a very long time to get it right. Slow learner obviously! ;)
    Alfred Kelberry: eh
    Lugh Fehr: heheh
Alfred Kelberry: well, you're happy now :)
    --BELL--
Storm Nordwind: Yes very happy :)))
    Alfred Kelberry: and a purist
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Lugh Fehr: i never had a relationship for moor then a couple of hrs hehe
Storm Nordwind: But I'd be very happy no matter what. It's possible to be that way.

I need to do some work.

Storm Nordwind: Would you guys please excuse me? I must go check on the Art as Being exhibition and then must do some work in RL
    Alfred Kelberry: wait
    Alfred Kelberry: so soon
    Alfred Kelberry: :(
Alfred Kelberry: there, he goes now...
Lugh Fehr: byebye for now nice meeting you :)
Storm Nordwind: See you again I hope. I'm here this time this day most weeks
