Alfred Kelberry: stev! :)
Alfred Kelberry: nice to see you cutie :)
Alfred Kelberry: hi, sam :)
stevenaia Michinaga: thanks, same to yo in your changed form
stevenaia Michinaga: hi oO
oO0Oo Resident: hello Stevenaia, hello boxy
stevenaia Michinaga: gtsy
stevenaia Michinaga: brb, a Rl moment
Alfred Kelberry: i liked a story about feynman i heard today
oO0Oo Resident listens
stevenaia Michinaga: back
oO0Oo Resident: wb
stevenaia Michinaga: feynman ?
stevenaia Michinaga: alfred?
stevenaia Michinaga: hmmm, he's away now
stevenaia Michinaga: how are you oOo
oO0Oo Resident: OK Stevenaia... Glad to be here with you and alfred
stevenaia Michinaga: smiles, enthusiasm is always appreciated
stevenaia Michinaga: are you always that way?
oO0Oo Resident: enthusiastic? no.. not always
stevenaia Michinaga: that makes it even more special
oO0Oo Resident: everything could be seen to be special if I could realize the nature of impermanence
stevenaia Michinaga: whether you realize it or not, impermanence is the inevitability of reality
oO0Oo Resident: both special (unique) and as a wise man once said: "extr ordinary, super natural"
stevenaia Michinaga: it;s just a matter of acceptance
stevenaia Michinaga: what is extr ordinary, super natural?
--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: that says to me/// moreness, if that's the word, you become more of what you are until your are what you are, which is what you have always been
stevenaia Michinaga: ordinary, natural
stevenaia Michinaga: more-natural, more ordinary more special
stevenaia Michinaga: more you-ness
stevenaia Michinaga: now I think I;m babbling
stevenaia Michinaga: a very long day
oO0Oo Resident: well, it is in the looking into this ordinariness, and naturalness, that it becomes such a refined experience, such that it is not special particularly, but all we;ve got and quite precious
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, it's not when you try, but when you feel you need to try to be something else that things seem to fall flat
oO0Oo Resident: yes the different senses of the prefixes is genius
stevenaia Michinaga: prefixes?
oO0Oo Resident: extra, and super
stevenaia Michinaga: aww, yes
stevenaia Michinaga: I once was offered to go on a retreat of sorts, sent by my employer
stevenaia Michinaga: he sent the entire office
stevenaia Michinaga: the goal in his mind was to have us communicate on a deeper lever... his level
oO0Oo Resident listens
stevenaia Michinaga: but the goal of the retreat was to transform you into more of yourself
Alfred Kelberry: meep!
oO0Oo Resident: wb boxy
Alfred Kelberry: not very crowdy today
stevenaia Michinaga: the result on the office was, in a sense a deeper communication
oO0Oo Resident: different goals steve
stevenaia Michinaga: the outcome of the employer was whatever he originally disliked about us, we become more of that
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
oO0Oo Resident: lol
oO0Oo Resident: yes
oO0Oo Resident: more and more ourselves
stevenaia Michinaga: no one from that time remains with that employer
stevenaia Michinaga: put we all got a good laugh
stevenaia Michinaga: *but
oO0Oo Resident: there is a new model of doing business in there somewhere but can't quite tease it out
Alfred Kelberry: what model?
oO0Oo Resident: to turn the motives on their head
stevenaia Michinaga: well, we.. I think there were 4 others and "the boss" were working on a buy-in plan
oO0Oo Resident: and observe the triple bottom line
Alfred Kelberry: motives on their head?
oO0Oo Resident: the "boss" want some kind of productive 'fix'
oO0Oo Resident: but the retreat changes the game
stevenaia Michinaga: we offered to purchase 51% of the company and he would own 49% so he would only need on other person to agree with him to maintain "control"
stevenaia Michinaga: he said no, can't loose control
oO0Oo Resident: control yes!
stevenaia Michinaga: so we all gave him control of no one :)
oO0Oo Resident: giving up
oO0Oo Resident: hehe
--BELL--
oO0Oo Resident: and some other game shone
stevenaia Michinaga: and left
Alfred Kelberry: hi, para :)
oO0Oo Resident smiles at paradise
stevenaia Michinaga: Seem letting go of control is similar to accepting impermanence
oO0Oo Resident: welcome
Alfred Kelberry: stev, why did you want to buy 51%?
Paradise Tennant: smiles hiya alfred .. O .. stevenaia :)
stevenaia Michinaga: control and permanence are illusions
Paradise Tennant: nods :)
Alfred Kelberry: exquisite shoes, para :)
Paradise Tennant: smiles thank you alfred :)
oO0Oo Resident: dancing shoes... to dance in impermanence
Paradise Tennant: smiles yes
stevenaia Michinaga: to see if he could accept the possibility of owning a business where he would have to have at least one of the 4 of us agree with him to make any business decision, and we would require 4 of us to overrule him if we disagreed
stevenaia Michinaga: somehow he felt even at that the deck was stacked against him
oO0Oo Resident thinks: maybe Imelda Marcos had the right idea
stevenaia Michinaga: hi Paradise, yes, very lovely shoes
oO0Oo Resident: I better look now
Alfred Kelberry: stev, well, it's the move that would only worsen things, as i see it
Alfred Kelberry: it seems you had relationship issues
Alfred Kelberry: and in a company of 4 having such issues is deadly
stevenaia Michinaga: well it seems we knew it wold take a major personal breakthrough for him to "let go" something that never happened
oO0Oo Resident confirms it. Paradise is wearing spectacular shoes
Alfred Kelberry: sam :) compliments are coming as waves :)
oO0Oo Resident: you are very kind to see that boxy
Alfred Kelberry: meep ;)
oO0Oo Resident reaches over and begins to massage Stevenaia's feet
Paradise Tennant: how did the situation resolve stev :)
stevenaia Michinaga: thk, seems these shoes appear painful even to look at
stevenaia Michinaga: we all left the firm and are still on good terms
oO0Oo Resident: Steve, It was what you said about having had a long day. gave me thought of how a foot massage might feel. Your shoes are lovely.
stevenaia Michinaga: had me think you must be elastic arms to massage my feet from all the way over there
stevenaia Michinaga: *made
oO0Oo Resident: yes well a paradise often says, it is sort of the thoughts that count
oO0Oo Resident: i talk too much
Paradise Tennant: yes it is the thought that counts
Paradise Tennant: ordered a new book on the weekend ..
Paradise Tennant: embrace the wide sky
Paradise Tennant: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIDMCC2SJek
Paradise Tennant: aph mentioned it in one of the logs and I had read his earlier book "on a blue day"
--BELL--
Paradise Tennant: looking forward to reading it .. to losing my preconceptions so I can go back to my tender years of being a brain sponge :)
oO0Oo Resident: he has a gentle voice
Paradise Tennant: his first book was excellent
Alfred Kelberry: he looks dutch :)
oO0Oo Resident: he learned Icelandic in a week
Paradise Tennant: very brilliant
oO0Oo Resident: takes on to know on para
oO0Oo Resident: one*
Paradise Tennant: smiles thank you but I will never learn icelandic :) but he makes some excellent points
oO0Oo Resident: hehe
stevenaia Michinaga: sounds fascinating
Paradise Tennant: often have the sense that knowledge is floating about us that we can intuit it
stevenaia Michinaga: knowing that and having the ability to intuit that is quite a distance
oO0Oo Resident: I like the idea of opening to that
stevenaia Michinaga: but sounds like a nice journey
oO0Oo Resident: opening*
Paradise Tennant: hmm thinking it is easier when you are kid .no self made obstacles
oO0Oo Resident: "Concepts, like individuals, have their histories and are just as incapable of withstanding the ravages of time as are individuals. But in and through all this they retain a kind of homesickness for the scenes of their childhood."
Paradise Tennant: smiles
oO0Oo Resident: --Soren Kierkegaard
oO0Oo Resident: "Life must be lived forward, but can only be understood backwards."
oO0Oo Resident: --ibid
Paradise Tennant: Emily Dickinson (1830–86). Complete Poems. 1924. Part One: Life CXXVI THE BRAIN is wider than the sky, For, put them side by side, The one the other will include With ease, and you beside. The brain is deeper than the sea, 5 For, hold them, blue to blue, The one the other will absorb, As sponges, buckets do. The brain is just the weight of God, For, lift them, pound for pound, 10 And they will differ, if they do, As syllable from sound.
Paradise Tennant: This is the poem which inspired his title :) lovely poem
--BELL--`
Paradise Tennant: sigh my brain is shutting down for the night :) not so wide I am afraid :)
oO0Oo Resident: how one wishes one could massage all feet at all times
