I fine conversation about what I thought (wrongly, I re-read now) was the subject of time chapter 10.6.  Chapter 10.6 is about "WHO are you?", but a discussion of "HOW are you?" has much value too.

Yakuzza and I start out.  Joined by Xirana.  Toward the end Ewan, Druth (little bunny avi) and Observum join us.

Yakuzza Lethecus: well, comming to pab actually is more of a reminder of what i do habitually and what i try to get exposed by
Riddle Sideways: why do ppl ask "how are you?" if they do want to listen to the answer
Yakuzza Lethecus: and actually i often wonder about ,,how are you?" and it´s real meaning if it´s just expected
Yakuzza Lethecus: and not actually meant in a compassiionate way
Riddle Sideways: exactly, is only a polliteness
Yakuzza Lethecus: well because somehow we pretend that it means that we fake to be polite ppl
Yakuzza Lethecus: actually ,,i don´t know how i am"
Yakuzza Lethecus: and i do not even know if i want to decide how i am often
Yakuzza Lethecus: just being ?
Riddle Sideways: yes, have to stop and think/evaluate a long time
Riddle Sideways: most times answer 73%
Riddle Sideways: or "can not be bothered with that now"
Riddle Sideways: then there are the ppl that when you say good morning to them
Riddle Sideways: answer "Fine, how are you"
Riddle Sideways: I just love when that happens
Yakuzza Lethecus: well actually that brings me to think about my interest in philosophy a littlebit i am really not skilled in it i just think that it covers these issues on intenionality
Yakuzza Lethecus: i think philosophy ,,just is" somehow it´s just one more language to explain confusions better
Yakuzza Lethecus: but what i understand of it and i don´t understand too much might be totally different from what it actually really is
Riddle Sideways: sorry, it seemed to be yet another language to confess

Riddle Sideways: was not sure how many of PaB watched it
Riddle Sideways: many are anti-TV
Riddle Sideways: but, it was fastinating

Yakuzza Lethecus: i was watching a documentary about the economic crisis and i am confused who still understands the economic system
Riddle Sideways: meant generic news/talk show people
Yakuzza Lethecus: well i usually prefer not to talk myself i hope to find access to my own issues in the communicatiion of others
Yakuzza Lethecus: well that approach partly sucks partly works by accident sometimes
Riddle Sideways: hmmmm, who speaks for you?
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, you mean this piece of habits in front of two screens conditioned by a world that i won´t dare trying to explain ?
Yakuzza Lethecus: well partly kidding of course
Yakuzza Lethecus: actually the first philosophy course i attended 5-6 years ago was about determinism
Yakuzza Lethecus: the most complicated issue for me right now is really to preserve communicating about these aspects while i honesly only know fragments of the subjects that i am talking about
Yakuzza Lethecus: so that´s why i also choose ,,curious but incompetent" in my profile

Yakuzza Lethecus: i am smiling in real life too, so i must be fine :)
Xirana Oximoxi: sure Yaku..it's a right symptom
Xirana Oximoxi: I think it's not a matter of 'how we are' every day..sometimes is just polite, and in the important way is how we feel in general. a sohow of real interest
Xirana Oximoxi: and also a way to stat coversation
Xirana Oximoxi: to invite the otheres to explai something about thier day
Yakuzza Lethecus: so when it´s just an expected politeness then doesn´t it just loose it´s honest meaning ?
Yakuzza Lethecus: ah, well that´s of course an honest form :)

Riddle Sideways: something wants to know "How.." are you
Riddle Sideways: How to answer?
Riddle Sideways: maybe just saying "Because"?
Riddle Sideways: too short. too rude?
Xirana Oximoxi: hmmm difficult!!!... but 'how' is different of 'who'
Xirana Oximoxi: how= a state>> happy, sad, tired, ill, worried.. and so on...
Riddle Sideways: how also = origin. "How" did you become
Xirana Oximoxi: but maybe.. this 'how' helps to discover the 'who'
Riddle Sideways: cassual conversation takes on a deep analysis and philosophical import
Riddle Sideways: billions of calculations
Riddle Sideways: and a summary of
Riddle Sideways: "Fine, how are you"
Xirana Oximoxi: yes, that's also right... but then it's quite a more complicated answer... and you must answr depends on the context
Xirana Oximoxi: the meanings are alays related to the context where it happens
Xirana Oximoxi: that says 'cognitiv linguistics' I'm studying now :)
Riddle Sideways: at start of job interview, should not start listing off the current status of all illnesses
Xirana Oximoxi: the polite way is also a good way to begin the communication with others
Xirana Oximoxi: oh! no... in a job interview you never must talk about feeling 'ill' :))

Xirana Oximoxi: ahh the question "How am I what?" includes the two aspects of the meaning of 'how are you,' that we were discussing.. 'how' and 'who'
Ewan Bonham: Or many parts of the One..
Riddle Sideways: and which one will this person be asking about
Ewan Bonham: Yes X...we assume there is an 'I'
Riddle Sideways: you'll have to remember that this person knows you from last week's context
