The Guardian for this meeting was Lia Rikugun. The comments are by Lia Rikugun.

The autologger did not work correctly so I copied the chat log from the text file, it seems there were some problems too... :(

[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: a friend of mine has a brain tumor, this started all the thinking
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten: Someone once said that the only constant is change.
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: oh wow, I'm sorry to hear thtat.
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten: My mom has survived two rounds of lung cancer.
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: yes i was shocked too
    [2011/02/24 13:12]  Sunshine Vayandar: ;(
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten: Cancer is an odd one.
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten: Not something you can predict most of the time.

    Why does this happen?

[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: it is curious how when things like this happen you always think"why does this happen to my friends, my family, etc"
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: but this is how life goes
    [2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: /me nods.
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: and it is sad
    [2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten: That is a question that I don't ask.....
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten: I never feel victomized by chance.
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten: Not sure why I feel that way though.
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: well i noticed this in my thinking
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: at least "why does this happen"

problems with Kira server and how to enable chat recording

[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun's PaB Listener: Sorry, the PaB webserver is not responding. Error 499
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten: I think it is a natural thought hough.
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: Sorry, the PaB webserver is not responding. Error 499
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: what does this mean?
    [2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: /me sighs
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: it means the Kira server needs to be kicked
    [2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: i claimed again
    [2011/02/24 13:12]  Sunshine Vayandar: ;) wol
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: Lia, do you have local chat logging enabled on your computer?
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten: Violins are not the way.
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten's PaB Listener: Sorry, the PaB webserver is not responding. Error 499
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: you need to set it twice, in Communication and also in Privacy
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: i am not quite sure
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: preferences/communication to turn on chat logging
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: then preferences/privacy to actually start it.
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: prefermnce>chat>enable plain text IM and chat history?
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Sunshine Vayandar: where is privacy?
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: not relevant to you, sun, it's a Viewer 2 setting
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Sunshine Vayandar: oh ok
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Lia Rikugun: ah maybe preferences>privacy>save IM logs on my computer
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: yes, lia
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: that too, yes
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: both must be enabled in v2
    [2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: /me shrugs
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten: I force myself to try v2 at least once a week.
    [2011/02/24 13:12]  Sunshine Vayandar: ty Wol ;)
    [2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: yw
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: I gave up on it, I'm waiting for v3
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten: What a horrible piece of of software decline.
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Qt Core: sl, making life easier since v1.666 ;-)
    [2011/02/24 13:12]  Wol Euler: yep
    [2011/02/24 13:12]  Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Sunshine Vayandar: hehe Qt
[2011/02/24 13:12]  Freud Jungsten: I just don't get it, I have never seen a program change so much for so bad.
[2011/02/24 13:13]  Lia Rikugun: i am not asure it is working
[2011/02/24 13:13]  Wol Euler's PaB Listener: Sorry, the PaB webserver is not responding. Error 499
[2011/02/24 13:13]  Freud Jungsten: I wonder what he business disicion at LL was based on?
    [2011/02/24 13:13]  Qt Core: so you don't use MS Office ? ;-)
[2011/02/24 13:13]  Wol Euler: there's been a lot of debate about that in various SL blogs, Freud,
[2011/02/24 13:13]  Freud Jungsten: v2 is worse than any MicroSoft change.... lol
[2011/02/24 13:14]  Freud Jungsten: Oh.... I don't care nough to look them up though... lmbo
[2011/02/24 13:14]  Wol Euler: it seems to be based on a mis-apprehension: that people avoid SL because the v1 interface was hard to use
[2011/02/24 13:14]  Freud Jungsten: Thanks for the tip though.
[2011/02/24 13:14]  Freud Jungsten: OH. interesting.
[2011/02/24 13:14]  Freud Jungsten: I have met a few newbies that wer about to abandon SL until I showed them how to load the old viwer..... lol
[2011/02/24 13:15]  Play as Being 15 minute bell: Conversations here are recorded when ON AIR. Please see http://wiki.playasbeing.org/

[2011/02/24 13:15]  Wol Euler: yeah, really
    [2011/02/24 13:15]  Sunshine Vayandar: ;))
[2011/02/24 13:15]  Qt Core: i never really followed the news about the viewer development, but weren't they going for a web based one ?
[2011/02/24 13:16]  Play as Being 15 minute bell: Thank you.
[2011/02/24 13:16]  Freud Jungsten: I head that as well.... but whatever...
    [2011/02/24 13:16]  Freud Jungsten: heard
[2011/02/24 13:16]  Wol Euler: /me nods. Different people like different things.
[2011/02/24 13:17]  Lia Rikugun: (ok i found where it is saved :))
[2011/02/24 13:17]  Freud Jungsten: I just don't know anyone that likes v2 ... unless it is all they know.
[2011/02/24 13:17]  Qt Core: and i usually end up dissatisfied as i have my weird tastes ;-)

constant change, but you realize it only when dramatic things happen

[2011/02/24 13:17]  Lia Rikugun: so change is happening all the time
[2011/02/24 13:17]  Freud Jungsten: I can tell by the sweater...
[2011/02/24 13:17]  Lia Rikugun: i guess there are only tiny moments where you realizte that
    [2011/02/24 13:17]  Sunshine Vayandar: lol ;)
[2011/02/24 13:17]  Freud Jungsten: <----- Inner monolog not working today.
    [2011/02/24 13:17]  Sunshine Vayandar: ;D
    [2011/02/24 13:18]  Wol Euler: :)
    [2011/02/24 13:18]  Qt Core: :-)
[2011/02/24 13:18]  Freud Jungsten: Having one of those days....
[2011/02/24 13:19]  Freud Jungsten: Been argugin in RL most of the day so far....
    [2011/02/24 13:19]  Wol Euler: :(
[2011/02/24 13:20]  Freud Jungsten: Can you tell us more about your friend with the brain tumor?
    [2011/02/24 13:20]  Lia Rikugun: he is 30
    [2011/02/24 13:20]  Sunshine Vayandar: ;((
[2011/02/24 13:20]  Lia Rikugun: had surgery yesterday
    [2011/02/24 13:20]  Freud Jungsten: Family?
[2011/02/24 13:20]  Freud Jungsten: Thoughts and prayers his way.
[2011/02/24 13:20]  Lia Rikugun: thank you
[2011/02/24 13:21]  Lia Rikugun: apparently it went well
[2011/02/24 13:21]  Wol Euler: /me nods. Mine too.
    [2011/02/24 13:21]  Wol Euler: good
[2011/02/24 13:21]  Lia Rikugun: but it is still not clear what the consequences are
    [2011/02/24 13:21]  Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
[2011/02/24 13:21]  Freud Jungsten: Brain surury going well is sort of a self contradiction.
[2011/02/24 13:21]  Freud Jungsten: Oxymoron>... is that the word?
    [2011/02/24 13:21]  Lia Rikugun: yes?
    [2011/02/24 13:21]  Wol Euler: mmhmm
[2011/02/24 13:22]  Lia Rikugun: well = they got the parts of the tumor out?
[2011/02/24 13:22]  Lia Rikugun: depends what happend to the brain...
[2011/02/24 13:22]  Freud Jungsten: So for brain surgurey, it went well then... great.
    [2011/02/24 13:22]  Lia Rikugun: i dont know
    [2011/02/24 13:23]  Lia Rikugun: i hope
    [2011/02/24 13:23]  Wol Euler: /me nods.
[2011/02/24 13:23]  Lia Rikugun: so life can change suddenly

    What is really important?

[2011/02/24 13:23]  Lia Rikugun: so we need to think what is really important and what we want to do
[2011/02/24 13:23]  Freud Jungsten: A very close freind?.... how are you holding up?... besides just spending a lot of tie thinking about it?
[2011/02/24 13:23]  Wol Euler: hello zon
    [2011/02/24 13:24]  Freud Jungsten: bozho
    [2011/02/24 13:24]  Sunshine Vayandar: hi Zon ;)
[2011/02/24 13:24]  Lia Rikugun: not close close
[2011/02/24 13:24]  Zon Kwan: heya all
[2011/02/24 13:24]  Lia Rikugun: hi zon
    [2011/02/24 13:24]  Freud Jungsten: OK.
[2011/02/24 13:24]  Sunshine Vayandar: I must go - wishing all the best for your friend Lia
[2011/02/24 13:24]  Lia Rikugun: thank you!
[2011/02/24 13:24]  Sunshine Vayandar: take care all
[2011/02/24 13:24]  Qt Core: hi zon
[2011/02/24 13:24]  Qt Core: bye sunshine
[2011/02/24 13:24]  Wol Euler: bye sun, take care
    [2011/02/24 13:24]  Sunshine Vayandar: byebyeeee
[2011/02/24 13:24]  Freud Jungsten: Just living your life is something that I think a lot of us are pretty poor at.
[2011/02/24 13:25]  Lia Rikugun: yes but why?
[2011/02/24 13:25]  Lia Rikugun: why do we need these dramatic situation to remember what is important?
[2011/02/24 13:25]  Freud Jungsten: I think maybe becuase we tend to like to find ruts at some basic level in our minds.
[2011/02/24 13:25]  Lia Rikugun: every little stress you make yourself is so irrelevant suddenly
[2011/02/24 13:26]  Freud Jungsten: How we prioritize things is a big curiosity.
[2011/02/24 13:26]  Lia Rikugun: so conclusion is no more stress
    [2011/02/24 13:26]  Wol Euler: /me nods.
[2011/02/24 13:26]  Freud Jungsten: I like stress.... lol
[2011/02/24 13:26]  Freud Jungsten: Keeps me going.
[2011/02/24 13:26]  Lia Rikugun: yes me too :) but sometimes its too much
[2011/02/24 13:26]  Freud Jungsten: I know that feeling as well.
[2011/02/24 13:28]  Lia Rikugun: life can be over tomorrow
    [2011/02/24 13:28]  Wol Euler: /me nods soberly.

    being fearful: yes or no?

[2011/02/24 13:28]  Lia Rikugun: but this thought is fearfuk
    [2011/02/24 13:28]  Lia Rikugun: fearful
[2011/02/24 13:29]  Qt Core: today i just had to pass three car crashes scenes on my way to work
[2011/02/24 13:29]  Lia Rikugun: all of my thinking about my friend is fearful
[2011/02/24 13:29]  Lia Rikugun: I am so afraid about possible consequences
[2011/02/24 13:29]  Qt Core: one of wich quite bad (even if there were no victim around)
[2011/02/24 13:29]  Freud Jungsten: I dont look at the world that way.. but that is just me.
[2011/02/24 13:30]  Play as Being 15 minute bell: Conversations here are recorded when ON AIR. Please see http://wiki.playasbeing.org/
[2011/02/24 13:30]  Play as Being 15 minute bell: Please observe 90 seconds of silence.
[2011/02/24 13:30]  Freud Jungsten: I dont worry about the uncontrolable.... at least I try not to.
[2011/02/24 13:31]  Play as Being 15 minute bell: Thank you.
[2011/02/24 13:31]  Lia Rikugun: this is what i realize now
[2011/02/24 13:32]  Lia Rikugun: I am not fearless, I am not letting go of things, I grasp onto somethings, I dont see the moment for what it is, I am not applying what we talk about here
[2011/02/24 13:33]  Lia Rikugun: so the ideal would be to not be afraid for him but to be compassionate
[2011/02/24 13:33]  Freud Jungsten: But this place has a certain bias..... so it's orientation may not work with your situation or lifestyle.
[2011/02/24 13:33]  Freud Jungsten: Fear is natural... why do you want to be unnatural?
[2011/02/24 13:34]  Freud Jungsten: I think the key is to recognize it, and move on.
[2011/02/24 13:34]  Lia Rikugun: ok thats true too
[2011/02/24 13:34]  Lia Rikugun: this is actually a book i am reading right now
[2011/02/24 13:34]  Lia Rikugun: "smile at fear"
[2011/02/24 13:34]  Lia Rikugun: i like it a lot, but for me it is difficult to apply
[2011/02/24 13:35]  Freud Jungsten: I tend to deal with my fear by charging head frist at hem... sometimes not so successfully though. lol
[2011/02/24 13:35]  Lia Rikugun: what does it mean?
[2011/02/24 13:35]  Lia Rikugun: charging head frist at hem..
[2011/02/24 13:35]  Wol Euler: "head first at them" :)
[2011/02/24 13:36]  Wol Euler: kopf zuerst gegen den feind :)
[2011/02/24 13:36]  Wol Euler: *kopf vor
[2011/02/24 13:36]  Lia Rikugun: ahh :) thanks wol
    [2011/02/24 13:36]  Wol Euler: :)
[2011/02/24 13:36]  Lia Rikugun: so is it a fighting or embrassing?
[2011/02/24 13:37]  Wol Euler: fighting rather than embracing, that would be expressed differently
    [2011/02/24 13:37]  Freud Jungsten: Well.
[2011/02/24 13:37]  Wol Euler: you disagree?

    exploring fear

[2011/02/24 13:37]  Freud Jungsten: I if I am afraid of something.
[2011/02/24 13:37]  Freud Jungsten: I tend to try and explore it as close as I can as soon as I can.
    [2011/02/24 13:37]  Freud Jungsten: I force myself.
[2011/02/24 13:38]  Lia Rikugun: i do too for certain things
[2011/02/24 13:38]  Lia Rikugun: others are too much, where you have almost all your focus on the fear
[2011/02/24 13:38]  Lia Rikugun: and no space for an observer part
[2011/02/24 13:39]  Freud Jungsten: That is true.
[2011/02/24 13:40]  Lia Rikugun: a few weeks ago i was scared to go into a gallery because I knew I wouldnt buy a picture :)
[2011/02/24 13:40]  Lia Rikugun: haha so i forced myself to go in
    [2011/02/24 13:40]  Wol Euler: /me smiles.
[2011/02/24 13:40]  Lia Rikugun: haha, was not that difficult in the end
    [2011/02/24 13:40]  Wol Euler: mmhmm
[2011/02/24 13:40]  Freud Jungsten: lol... I love that sort of thing.. I find them so pretentious.... grins
[2011/02/24 13:40]  Wol Euler: I'm sure nobody would mind, the gallerist least of all
[2011/02/24 13:41]  Lia Rikugun: yes thats what i felt too
[2011/02/24 13:41]  Wol Euler: at least, a good one wouldn't.
[2011/02/24 13:41]  Lia Rikugun: so from fear came a vry ice experience
[2011/02/24 13:41]  Lia Rikugun: very nice*
    [2011/02/24 13:41]  Wol Euler: good! :)
[2011/02/24 13:43]  Lia Rikugun: i thin i am scared right now, and I have to put it away, i cannot be scared and look at it, this does not seem to be possible
[2011/02/24 13:44]  Lia Rikugun: i am sorry i am talking a lot, just some thoughts

[2011/02/24 13:44]  Lia Rikugun: oh thank you
[2011/02/24 13:45]  Wol Euler: it's natural and normal to be afraid when a friend is in danger.

living in constant fear and how it affects your thinking

[2011/02/24 13:46]  Freud Jungsten: I grew up in a constant state of fear.
    [2011/02/24 13:47]  Lia Rikugun: really?
[2011/02/24 13:47]  Freud Jungsten: So maybe that partof my brain is a bit numb.
    [2011/02/24 13:47]  Wol Euler: poor little-Freud :(
[2011/02/24 13:47]  Freud Jungsten: lol... histry.
[2011/02/24 13:47]  Freud Jungsten: My mom was very abusive.
    [2011/02/24 13:47]  Lia Rikugun: i am sorry
[2011/02/24 13:48]  Freud Jungsten: But the idea is maybe I was so affraid then of real dangers, that my ability to wory about maybes was reduced.... jsut a thought.
    [2011/02/24 13:48]  Lia Rikugun: yes
[2011/02/24 13:49]  Wol Euler: hello chi
[2011/02/24 13:49]  Qt Core: hi Chi, Brian
[2011/02/24 13:49]  Lia Rikugun: hi chi and brian
[2011/02/24 13:49]  Brian Roop: hi guys, snow rez, see no one
    [2011/02/24 13:49]  Freud Jungsten: Ciao.
[2011/02/24 13:49]  Brian Roop: oh now better
[2011/02/24 13:49]  Chi Aho: Hello, everyone!
[2011/02/24 13:49]  Brian Roop: no fountain yet
[2011/02/24 13:49]  Wol Euler: hello brian
[2011/02/24 13:50]  Lia Rikugun: i think i have met you two before, right? here in the pavilion where we record logs :)
    [2011/02/24 13:50]  Brian Roop: yes
    [2011/02/24 13:50]  Wol Euler: /me nods.
[2011/02/24 13:50]  Brian Roop: wow slow slow rez
    [2011/02/24 13:50]  Chi Aho: yes
[2011/02/24 13:51]  Lia Rikugun: :) the hidden question hehe
[2011/02/24 13:51]  Lia Rikugun: we are talking about fears

sudden (unwanted) change of loosing a close person

[2011/02/24 13:51]  Qt Core: about sudden (unwanted) change i spend most of this session reminding about my father dead by cancer, it was many years ago and when we expected certain change in our family life we lost him in few months,
    [2011/02/24 13:51]  Wol Euler: /me listens.
[2011/02/24 13:52]  Lia Rikugun: I am sorry Qt
[2011/02/24 13:52]  Qt Core: he felt ill a few days after retiring and died in some six months
[2011/02/24 13:52]  Chi Aho: That must have been very hard for you to take Qt.
[2011/02/24 13:52]  Lia Rikugun: this happened to my mom as well
[2011/02/24 13:52]  Wol Euler: /me nods. I'm sorry to hear it.
[2011/02/24 13:52]  Lia Rikugun: so much cancer
[2011/02/24 13:52]  Brian Roop: my grandfather essentially dropped dead
[2011/02/24 13:53]  Brian Roop: he was 81 but no sign of illness
[2011/02/24 13:53]  Lia Rikugun: so again life changes from one moment to another dramatically
[2011/02/24 13:53]  Freud Jungsten: I have never lost anyone close to me.... I am afraid of how it will impact me when it happens.... that I will admit.
[2011/02/24 13:53]  Lia Rikugun: all the ideas and plans you have
[2011/02/24 13:54]  Lia Rikugun: i mean it is good to have plans
[2011/02/24 13:54]  Lia Rikugun: but situations change, plans change
[2011/02/24 13:54]  Lia Rikugun: (just thinking loud)
[2011/02/24 13:54]  Brian Roop: patterns of many years change too
[2011/02/24 13:55]  Lia Rikugun: I am sorry Qt this must have been hard
[2011/02/24 13:55]  Qt Core: yes, amd making no plans is loosing without playing
[2011/02/24 13:55]  Brian Roop: love is risk, always

an exercise to see the constant change happening

[2011/02/24 13:55]  Chi Aho: One good exercise to is think back where you were and what you were doing 7 years ago, then 7 more years ago, 7 more, as far as you can go; then you see it change fast
    [2011/02/24 13:55]  Brian Roop: yes
[2011/02/24 13:56]  Brian Roop: i have never lived anywhere more than eight years at a time
[2011/02/24 13:56]  Lia Rikugun: when you were a child?
[2011/02/24 13:56]  Brian Roop: no, in adult life
    [2011/02/24 13:56]  Lia Rikugun: ah
[2011/02/24 13:56]  Qt Core: i just got to 30 in the same place ;-)
[2011/02/24 13:57]  Wol Euler: huh, I've only lived in seven houses in 52 years :)
    [2011/02/24 13:57]  Lia Rikugun: :)
[2011/02/24 13:57]  Lia Rikugun: I once stayed moved 7 times in 9 months HAHA
[2011/02/24 13:57]  Freud Jungsten: Three houses in 24 years.
    [2011/02/24 13:57]  Wol Euler: :)
    [2011/02/24 13:57]  Wol Euler: that's a bit excessive, lia :)
    [2011/02/24 13:57]  Brian Roop: yeah
    [2011/02/24 13:57]  Brian Roop: wow
    [2011/02/24 13:57]  Qt Core: 2 in 40
[2011/02/24 13:57]  Lia Rikugun: it was crazy
[2011/02/24 13:58]  Wol Euler: tiring too, probably
[2011/02/24 13:58]  Lia Rikugun: ok i was lying, 10 months
[2011/02/24 13:58]  Lia Rikugun: I only had a hugs suitcase and some plants
[2011/02/24 13:58]  Wol Euler: oh, well, that's different.-
[2011/02/24 13:58]  Brian Roop: the place i lived in for 8 years, i had lived before for four and was away for 19 --now that was an exercise in seeing change
[2011/02/24 13:59]  Brian Roop: many of the same jpeople were there,
[2011/02/24 13:59]  Lia Rikugun: and how did it change?
[2011/02/24 14:00]  Play as Being 15 minute bell: Conversations here are recorded when ON AIR. Please see http://wiki.playasbeing.org/

[2011/02/24 14:00]  Brian Roop: the city, not that much, but the people i had known befoe had aged, those who weren't in the graveyard
    [2011/02/24 14:00]  Lia Rikugun: oh
    [2011/02/24 14:01]  Wol Euler: /me nods.

    [2011/02/24 14:02]  Qt Core: me ? yes
[2011/02/24 14:02]  Brian Roop: that's the contract we have by being here
[2011/02/24 14:02]  Lia Rikugun: well you can always say that things were too personal
    [2011/02/24 14:02]  Lia Rikugun: etc
[2011/02/24 14:03]  Wol Euler: we do allow people to take things "off the record"
[2011/02/24 14:03]  Lia Rikugun: it is probably ok, i need to reread
[2011/02/24 14:03]  Lia Rikugun: ok my friends

[2011/02/24 14:04]  Chi Aho: goodnight Lia
[2011/02/24 14:04]  Freud Jungsten: Sounds rought.
[2011/02/24 14:04]  Lia Rikugun: oh i am sorry brian
[2011/02/24 14:04]  Brian Roop: found myself thinking the whole way, "i must tell him this, i must ask him that."
