    --BELL--

    Pema Pera: ah, yes!
Corvuscorva Nightfire: is that a frown or surprise?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: like "what the heck?"
Udge Watanabe: I thought of it as surprise or disbelief :)
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: nods.
Udge Watanabe: erm, wrong character :)
    Wol Euler laughs.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: laughs
    Wol Euler: how confusing

    Corvuscorva Nightfire: laughs
Wol Euler: yes, very much that
Wol Euler: or the raising of a single eyebrow
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: nods
Corvuscorva Nightfire: or...a goofier look entirely.
Pema Pera: Mar, are you in California now?
    Mar Rodas: yes
    Mar Rodas: I am
Corvuscorva Nightfire: If it was on me, I'd just look silly and dazed

Mar Rodas: yes, I was once with saki
Mar Rodas: listening while she was attending
Mar Rodas: but I did not touch the keyboard
Pema Pera: so you've learned a lot today!

Ishtar Ishmene: lol i didnt ever read the ll tos
cybersufi Resident: the Man and the tiger ---- A Man being follwed by a Tiger, turned in desperation and faced it, and cried 'Why don't you leave me alone?" The tiger answered: 'Why don't you stop being so appetising?'
    Wol Euler: :)
    Chi Aho: :-)
    Zon Kwan: sounds familiar
cybersufi Resident: The Toads in the Castle
cybersufi Resident: Once, in a reverie, I saw a community of wholly admirable toads.
cybersufi Resident: they had taken over, and made their home in a castle, obviously, to me, originally built by men.
cybersufi Resident: I spoke their langauge, in my dream, and asked them to explain to me, as a matter of information, the origins and uses of the castle.

    --BELL--

cybersufi Resident: They were kindly and hospitable toads, and they gave me full detials of their lives and thoughts, and the way in which the building was used.
cybersufi Resident: Every single aspect of the castle and its surroundings, including the moat and the marshes and reed beds in which it was set, had a thoroughly plausible use and a toad-origin in theory, indicative of toad thought and toad design - conclusive to the toad mind.
Wol Euler: but you were certain it was made for and by humans?
cybersufi Resident: I said: 'Brothers, forgive my seeming discourtesy. but this place was formed, designed, erected, by other beings. It was intended forquite different purposes than you have mentioned..'
cybersufi Resident: Some di not hear at all. the whole idea was so strange that it did not even register with them. Some said, shortly: You are a liar, or a cheat.'
cybersufi Resident: Others, 'trying to help me, siad to one another; 'Poor fellow, he is raving mad.' that of course quite disposed me.
    cybersufi Resident: fin...
    Wol Euler: :)
Ishtar Ishmene: need to go bye all
Wol Euler: bye ishtar, take care
    cybersufi Resident: bye
Wol Euler: that sounds like a parable, cyber
cybersufi Resident: you don't mind if I ramble I am now aware that others read ofline and enjoy
    Wol Euler: fire away
cybersufi Resident: well it is kind of but its also a reflection of a pattern of thinking
cybersufi Resident: As Frank Herbert said in Dune the first step in avoiding a trap is knowing of its existence
cybersufi Resident: here is one that could very well describe much of the politics of today

    --BELL--

    cybersufi Resident: "The Cheese"
cybersufi Resident: Once upon a time there was a cheese,
cybersufi Resident: A number of cheese-mites took up residence
    cybersufi Resident: in it
cybersufi Resident: As time passed, they bored more and more holes into the cheese, and of course they multiplied
cybersufi Resident: then one day, there was so many holes in the cheese that it collapsed into powder
cybersufi Resident: leaving the mites scrambling in the ruins of their home.
cybersufi Resident: 'What traitor is responsible for this/' screamed the mites.
cybersufi Resident: "They formed parties, each opposed to the other, whoes objectives were to restore the former idea situation.
cybersufi Resident: some mites, it is true, found another cheese. but the majority- they are fairly rapidly consuming the remaining cheese powder.
    cybersufi Resident: fin

Chi had IMed me and asked permission to put a notice about an upcoming event into the log. I agreed since I thought it might be of interest to guardians and other readers.

Chi Aho: Chi Aho, author and lecturer, will speak at OSHO Meditation Island Tree House Classroom at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16th on "Emotional, Moral and Spiritual Development." This will be the first of a planned three part series on this subject with all contributions going to support OSHO.
Wol Euler nods to Cyber. That story rings bells, somehow
    Chi Aho: (Posted by permission)
cybersufi Resident: I enjoyed Osho's book on the tao, he was quite an admirer of Allan watts
Chi Aho: author of THE BOOK
    cybersufi Resident: idead
    cybersufi Resident: indeed
cybersufi Resident: He refers to Allan Watts as an almost Buddha
    cybersufi Resident: amusing really
Chi Aho: maybe a bodisatva (not sure of spelling)

cybersufi Resident: The Two Demons A Junior devil said to a senior one: 'If only we could stop manfrom using sovereign intellect! Can we not do something to block his efforts towards self development?
cybersufi Resident: The Elder answered: 'My child, it has been done already! Man was aeons ago convinced that he possesses choice and sovereign intellect as some sort of gift.
cybersufi Resident: He, has long since - with only a few insignificant exceptions - ceased to listen to anyone who says that he has a real intellect waiting to be developed.'
    Wol Euler: :)
Wol Euler: my dears, I'm sorry, but my time is up, I must go.
Wol Euler: thank you for the tales, Cyber.
cybersufi Resident: Chi, I thought you would appreciate the ecological flavour of the "the Cheese"
    cybersufi Resident: bye wol
    Chi Aho: ty
    Wol Euler: goodnght!
    Chi Aho: c u wol
