Paradise Tennant: A quiet night I think I will "Rumi" a bit and post favourite excerpts of Rumi’s poetry :)

On Love
Love is the cure, for your pain will keep giving birth to more pain until your eyes constantly exhale love as effortlessly as your body yields its scent.
The Meaning of Love
Both light and shadow are the dance of Love.
Love has no cause; it is the astrolabe of God’s secrets.
Lover and Loving are inseparable and timeless.
Although I may try to describe Love when I experience it I am speechless.
Although I may try to write about Love I am rendered helpless; my pen breaks and the paper slips away at the ineffable place where Lover, Loving and Loved are one.
Every moment is made glorious by the light of Love.
On Passion
With passion pray. With passion work. With passion make love. With passion eat and drink and dance and play. Why look like a dead fish in this ocean of God?
On Appearance
Drenched in the flood which has yet to come
I’m tied up in the prison which has yet to exist
Not having played the game of chess I’m already the checkmate
Not having tasted a single cup of your wine I’m already drunk
Not having entered the battlefield I’m already wounded and slain
I no longer know the difference between image and reality
Like the shadow I am And I am not
druth Vlodovic: :) is this a private party, or can anyone join?
Paradise Tennant: hello
Paradise Tennant: smiles
--BELL--
Paradise Tennant: It has been a quiet half hour
Paradise Tennant: so I have been posting bits of Rumi poetry to fill the time :)
Paradise Tennant: how are you :)
druth Vlodovic: Rumi?
Paradise Tennant: 13th century poet and seer ..
druth Vlodovic: is there a theme to the order?
druth Vlodovic: hi Rhi, didn't see you
Rhiannon Dragoone: hi druth
Rhiannon Dragoone: yes, I felt like the invisible woman
Paradise Tennant: hiya Rhia
Rhiannon Dragoone: hi Paradise
druth Vlodovic: lol, maybe you can just give me the highlights
Paradise Tennant: yes very good poet
Paradise Tennant: live in the 13th century in Persia; believed the path to the divine was love :)
Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: I have one that you would like Rhia one sec :)
Rhiannon Dragoone: hi Ewan!
druth Vlodovic: Mr. Bonham
druth Vlodovic: :) watch the new cushions, they're tricksy
Rhiannon Dragoone: oh? what do they do?
druth Vlodovic: they're for minis
Rhiannon Dragoone: well, glad you don't discriminate
Rhiannon Dragoone: So Ewan, what's you been up to?
Paradise Tennant: hiya Ewan :)
Ewan Bonham: Well, folks, unlike my typical self, I went shopping and got some clothes..
Paradise Tennant: sl or rl ?
Ewan Bonham: Not like me to feel attached.
Ewan Bonham: In sl.
Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: ahh
druth Vlodovic: nice shirt
Ewan Bonham: But I thought I would expand my footprint in folks perceptions of me..:)
--BELL--
Rhiannon Dragoone: Ewan, that's what SL is for.
druth Vlodovic: Are you going to show us a selection? Or do I need to buttonhole you later?
Ewan Bonham: Well, you will see it little by little..I did get quite a few things..:)
Paradise Tennant: smiles a shopping spree :)
druth Vlodovic: Watch yourself, it gets addictive
Ewan Bonham: Thank you, Druth, but I feel I got my fill for quite a while..:)
druth Vlodovic: Did you find the poem paradise?
Paradise Tennant: no sadly
Paradise Tennant: Rhia you would have like it .. very well .. it was about shedding our clothes and being :)
Rhiannon Dragoone: oh, Yeah, I would like that
Rhiannon Dragoone: Maybe you can send it to me later
druth Vlodovic: well, in rl it is an interesting sensation
Rhiannon Dragoone: Shedding clothes and ur pure being; and you see others in a different light; as it brings out the aggressiveness in some, the fun loving spirit in others, when they see you this way
Paradise Tennant: yes nice to be unbound :) very free :)
druth Vlodovic: well, I've never shed clothes in front of people, it has always been sort of a private thing
Ewan Bonham: For me most of the time, I see the spirit beneath the clothes anyway..:)
Rhiannon Dragoone: Ewan, it challenges ppl to see ur spirit when ur naked
Paradise Tennant: smiles yes, somehow we all shine through
Rhiannon Dragoone: All many can see is your body; that's all ppl were seeing my 2nd time here
druth Vlodovic: Funny, I was thinking earlier today how odd sl is
Rhiannon Dragoone: sl, odd? naw...
druth Vlodovic: in rl, I see you, hear you, then your words, then your meanings
druth Vlodovic: in sl you start with words and meanings
druth Vlodovic: and images from the person's mind
Ewan Bonham: And isn't that a natural thing, anyway. Wouldn't it be nice if we did that in rl?
Paradise Tennant: Yes
Paradise Tennant: Sometimes I find it a bit surreal
Paradise Tennant: Well a sense of missing context
Rhiannon Dragoone: well, druth, but in sl, ppl do take your image as real, the way they do in rl
Rhiannon Dragoone: I agree, Paradise, there is a sense of missing context
druth Vlodovic: I like missing the context, it helps you get past the preconceptions, the social noise we carry about
Rhiannon Dragoone: I've gotten into mis understandings with ppl, cuz they couldn't fathom my context
Rhiannon Dragoone: And they in turn do things that are bewildering to me, cuz I can't fathom their context
Rhiannon Dragoone: Or it allows ppl to project their own baggage unto you easier
Paradise Tennant: and there is a great deal of social noise
Paradise Tennant: I think this is the one Rhia :)
A Star Without a Name
When a baby is taken from the wet nurse, it easily forgets her and starts eating solid food. Seeds feed awhile on the ground, then lift up into the sun.
So you should taste the filtered light and work your way toward wisdom with no personal covering.
That's how you came here, like a star without a name.
Move across the night sky with those anonymous lights.
Rhiannon Dragoone: its lovely, Paradise
--BELL--
Paradise Tennant: it was a quiet first half Ewan I was posting poems by Rumi :)
Ewan Bonham: Oh, I love Rumi..
Ewan Bonham: Love poems to Spirit..
Rhiannon Dragoone: I've never read him; I've heard of him but not sure what he writes about
Paradise Tennant: Yes !
Paradise Tennant: love .. the path to the divine through love :)
Rhiannon Dragoone: well, I have to go
Paradise Tennant: take care Rhia thank you for the conversation :)
Rhiannon Dragoone: This and the last time I was here has been pleasant; has made up for my unpleasant first experience
Rhiannon Dragoone: oh, thank you for hosting this
Rhiannon Dragoone: and for the poem
druth Vlodovic: bye Rhi
Rhiannon Dragoone: bye druth
Rhiannon Dragoone: bye Ewan
Paradise Tennant: smiles
druth Vlodovic: ah, I guess I'm off
druth Vlodovic: thank you for the poetry
Paradise Tennant: ok
druth Vlodovic: and your patience
Paradise Tennant: take care druth thank you :) for the company :)
