    ::: A loud jolting noise

    ::: Moving pain away

    Thank you all for your warm condolences. Feeling gently accompanied by you all makes this all better. Just now eden's haiku ending with 'moving pain away' also says a lot. Perhaps in our daily explorations the resulting sharings about our individual and indeed common experience are part of what fosters our next days' searchings.
    Which then makes the project more communal than I had at first envisioned.

    This morning while contemplating the day I realized how brooding I had become yesterday and last night. Wondered if it could be seen as my falling away from the 'better care' I am seeking to embrace. The change of pace (weekend vs workweek)...such change may always trigger some sense of loss...perhaps that suggests extra care and clarity to not lose myself nor the self-care I seek to maintain.

    Meditating in the evening.

    This evening the disturbance after about 8 minutes was my daughter, calling me without any real reason. I found it difficult to get back to the meditation, so I did some prostrations to get into the right mood again. This felt so good I decided to fill the full rest of the time with prostrations, but it turns out that more than about five prostrations causes dizziness and tinnitus in me. It seems I am not quite ready for that yet - better stay with three prostrations at the time for now.

    Sorry to hear of your loss Maxine - hopefully today has been a bit peaceful and calmer for you.
    Loving to read all your comments - its great to be able to share this project with you all.

    Metta time : Metta under the stars - it felt nice to do it outside.

    Quiet time with trees and stars - nice time outside but short - would like to make it last longer tomorrow.

    South Africa - a moment of ponder, thanks and musings : Today is the start of the Africa cup of nations - hosted in SA - brings back fun memories of the soccer world cup, sound of vuvuzelas and the colorful soccer crowd.

    I haven't slept yet, so I'm calling this still the 19th. Sat after dinner for a surprisingly calm 8 minutes, and a monkey-beset 2 minutes :) Twitchy ankles.

    Busy day with friends at my Tao Study Group in RL, brought them into SL to show them alternate places to meet in case of snow or for other reasons. Discussed Chapter 24 of Tao de Ching "Greatness", visited mother, movie and dinner with friends, relaxing evening, at 11:59. Saw an interesting video to day:

    About breathing and the mind.
    I realized I hadn't done my meditations so I went off to visit's Storm's Karuna-metta meditation place in SL and sat and read through the text w/ Storm to quiet down before sleep. It was well worth it. Will try this again when looking for alternative places to meditate when Tai Chi will not fit the day.

    I am also enjoying reading everyone's posts as we go, thank you all, and welcome back Wol edited 05:26, 20 Jan 2013

    Body: Keeping to a low carb diet is not hard, especially with little treats to reward oneself. Cooked a homemade English/Asian fusion dish tonight: Spicy gravy chicken. (Sorry, Wester, not veggie.) Bisto and curry?! Sure: why ever not? :)

    Mind: A chess game is, in general, divided into an opening, a middle game and an end game. It's probably the opening that gets the most attention with thousands of books in print on different types. But it's rarely the part of the game that brings most rewards, and I've fallen into that trap myself in the past. But I've discovered that I can make most progress by training in the middle game. I've found a good book - there aren't many - to help me do that; it's on its way.

    Spirit: I'm still rereading old transcripts from my teacher, though I made short progress today. However, conversing with my teacher yesterday gave me confidence that I can still take down new transcripts. My teacher says, this time indirectly though the oracle, "The crescent moon blossoms. Soon it will be full. Later comes the dark. Days turn. Months turn. Seasons turn. Thus the heavens dance to the music of time." So it seems clear that I must establish a routine - something I haven't yet succeeded to do! But I will. :)
