I've been away for a while, away from many things, Meditation, Chi Gong, Tai Chi, good health (had a bad cold all of last week), this list. I would like to have called it a vacation, but a vacation from balance is never a good thing. Tonight I returned to class, which basically addressed most of the unbalanced items in my list above. Writing here completes the list. :)
Tonight my teacher chose to put the class through an amusing yet torturous exercise. Most of the Tai Chi moves are directional, i.e., one way to do them... until she said.. when you get familiar with something it's time to use your mind again. She proceeded to guide us through a sequence in "mirror image". What left is right, what's right is left and our minds were scrambled. I'll be busy growing new neurons for the next few days as I try to figure this all out. :)
A late posting as I was traveling all of the day
The delicate poise required to go with the flow
No matter what the timezone -- gently suspending the internal clock
To abide by the local rhythm.
::: Moving branches and whistling
::: Spirits of the air
Breathe in, breathe out. Focus close, then reach out. Repeat as necessary.
