Susi Alcott: btw; did you Zen and Vellora meet already ?
Zen Arado: yes
Vellora Vella: yes - we did
Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Zen Arado: I added a notecard to my piece
Zen Arado: it actually worked
Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Bleu Oleander: oh great Zen!
Bleu Oleander: did you use Storm's script?
Zen Arado: yes
Bleu Oleander: wonderful
Zen Arado: Hi Pema !
Bleu Oleander: I'll pick up one of your notes then
Bleu Oleander: Hi Pema!
Susi Alcott: I have been thinking as somebody asked if I'de build a prim too
Vellora Vella: Hi Pema
Susi Alcott: Hi Pema
Zen Arado: I want to add a haiku or more writing but maybe I can revise later
Bleu Oleander: wonderful article in New World Notes!!
Pema Pera: Hi Everybody!
Zen Arado: yes I read it earlier
Bleu Oleander: yes, Zen, you can always add to it
Liza Deischer: hi everyone
Bleu Oleander: hi Liza
Susi Alcott: so...as I dont know so cleary of this project....want to confirm it it's open to all of the members to build a prim ?
Vellora Vella: Hi Liza
Pema Pera: hi Liza!
Susi Alcott: Hi Liza
Bleu Oleander: yes, Susi, the Art of Being project is open to all PaB members
Susi Alcott: and free to 'leave' any thought or poem or 'poem' ever ?
Bleu Oleander: yes, place a note card in your piece
Bleu Oleander: (Storm has put a script for that in the Village)
Zen Arado: and it is easy to do
Bleu Oleander: Did you get an email with the guidelines for the art work?
Liza Deischer: doint the art piece of placing the notecard?
Susi Alcott: I believe I know then how to do, but yes need that Storm's script
Liza Deischer: *or
Zen Arado: placing the notecard
Zen Arado: thought it would be more difficult as I don't know anything about scripting
Zen Arado: but just followed Storm's instructions
Liza Deischer: the script is already there, so that's great
Bleu Oleander: one of the side goals of the project is to learn a little about building from those who know more
Zen Arado: I ust dragged to my contents tab
Bleu Oleander: Storm is an excellent teacher!
Liza Deischer: or scripting
Susi Alcott: that scripting yes is completely beyond my knowledge
Susi Alcott: ok; then I might have few lines
Zen Arado: think I might get into art a bit more in SL
Zen Arado: Bleu has inspired me
Liza Deischer: :-)
Susi Alcott: Good _/!\_
Bleu Oleander: so nice to hear that Zen!
Zen Arado: maybe build a gallery
Liza Deischer: wow
Zen Arado: I am no good at marketting
Bleu Oleander: Zen is a wonderful artist for anyone that hasn't seen his work
--BELL--
It's great to see everyone's inner artist blooming in the garden that is Play as Being.
Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Pema Pera: You've started an avalanche of creative activity, Bleu!
Zen Arado: it would be nice to have two galleries - one for abstract, one for traditional paintings
Bleu Oleander: yes, it's really inspiring!
Zen Arado: or maybe get into sculptures !
Pema Pera: interesting idea, Zen, we probably have space enough for all that
Bleu Oleander: everyone's inner artist is emerging
Zen Arado: here?
Bleu Oleander: I would love to have a show of your work in my Studio too Zen
Zen Arado: could have small gallery here I suppose
Zen Arado: but isn't that too commercial Pema?
Liza Deischer: be right back
Pema Pera: is what too commercial, Zen?
Zen Arado: having a gallery around here
Pema Pera: you mean to sell something?
Zen Arado: well - people might want to buy paintings
Pema Pera: interesting question, my first reaction is that it would be fine, but let's see what the whole group thinks about it -- would be good to bring up during a weekly meeting on Sunday, 8 am SLT
Pema Pera: it may depend on how it's done
Zen Arado: I practically give them away in SL anyway :)
Pema Pera: if tastefully displayed, with an emphasis on display, with perhaps the option to buy without overly advertising, that might be okay
Zen Arado: 300 L$
Bleu Oleander: (I already bought one of Zen's paintings ... yes, very nice price Zen!)
Pema Pera having a vising of 100 m high ad towers :-)
Pema Pera: *vision
Bleu Oleander: hehe
Zen Arado: that column I built remined me of the 'stepping off a 100 foot pole ' koan
Susi Alcott: they thankfully are not allowed in SL anymore
Bleu Oleander: wb Liza
Liza Deischer: ty
Zen Arado: Eliza jumped off it last night
Susi Alcott: wb Liza
Pema Pera: hehehe, Zen
Pema Pera: wow, we'll have to talk to Eliza then!
Pema Pera: let her share her experiences :)
Bleu Oleander: art is bringing out the wild side!
Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone
Bleu Oleander: hey Yaku!
Pema Pera: hi Yaku!
Zen Arado: think the koan is about not clinging to spiritua openings but keep practicing and saty open
Zen Arado: Hi Yaku
Liza Deischer: (you all look good now :-))
Susi Alcott: Hi Yaku
Liza Deischer: hi Yaku
Pema Pera: How long have you been painting, Zen?
Zen Arado: about 20 years
Pema Pera: what brought you to get started, if I may ask?
Zen Arado: took it up for something to do when I took early retirement
Zen Arado: I've never been all that professional about it though I sell through local art clubs
Pema Pera: ah, also in RL then!
Zen Arado: oh yes mostly in RL
Susi Alcott: have to leave so I wish you all good time
Liza Deischer: bye Susi
Bleu Oleander: I really like your recent attempts at more abstract work
Zen Arado: bye Susi :)
Bleu Oleander: bye Susi
Vellora Vella: bye Susi
Pema Pera: see you, Susi!
Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Zen Arado: I find abstracts more nejoyable to do
Bleu Oleander: I do too
--BELL--
A special theme session on creativity and the Art of Being project would be a wonderful conversation.
Bleu Oleander: It might be nice to have a special PaB session with artists and their work when the Village Square is full of art ...
Zen Arado: yes
Pema Pera: sure, a theme meeting is a good idea
Vellora Vella: sorry to say - but have to search for some textures... nice talking with you
Pema Pera: just let me know
Pema Pera: bye Vellora!
Zen Arado: I tend to think everyone has artistic ptential
Bleu Oleander: bye Vellora :)
Vellora Vella: see you soon
Liza Deischer: bye vellora
Vellora Vella: bye bye
Zen Arado: bye Vellora
Pema Pera: whenever you like to hold a theme meeting, I can add it to the list
Pema Pera: http://playasbeing.wik.is/PaB_Theme_Sessions
Bleu Oleander: several others are planning to do art for the Village so it will be nice to include all who want to participate
Zen Arado: Calvino was very interesting at my meeting yesterday talking about creativity
Zen Arado: that could be a good theme sometime
Bleu Oleander: yes!
Zen Arado: I am so interested in the difference between creative and rational thought
Zen Arado: or in how they combine
Bleu Oleander: for me it's a woven fabric
Bleu Oleander: creativity and rational thought informing each other
Yakuzza Lethecus sneaks to a lecture on philosophy island
Liza Deischer: yes, if there is any difference
Yakuzza Lethecus: bfn
Bleu Oleander: bye Yaku
Zen Arado: bye Yaku
Liza Deischer: bye Yaku
Liza Deischer: I guess it is more about some kind of concentration
Liza Deischer: makin different parts of your brain working together
Pema Pera: any piece of scientific research starts with creativity and ends with rationality, to check the result -- to say that science is a rational pursuit is only half the truth
Zen Arado: yes Pema
Bleu Oleander: agree Pema
Zen Arado: Einstein said a lot of things on that theme
Liza Deischer: oh, that's interesting
Zen Arado: he only did the maths after some crative inspiration that seemed to come from nowhere
Liza Deischer: that makes sense
Liza Deischer: looking at what he 'produced"
Zen Arado: and even initially a scientist has to have some kind of feeling that a piece of research might lead somewhere?
Liza Deischer: I can't imagine you can do anyting without some creativity
Pema Pera: yes, without a hunch you wouldn't even know where to start . . .
Pema Pera: but in contrast, I now have to stop :-)
Pema Pera: RL calling
Pema Pera: see you soon again!
Bleu Oleander: bye Pema
Liza Deischer: bye Pema
Zen Arado: ok bye Pema
Bleu Oleander: I need to go too
Liza Deischer: I need to go too
Liza Deischer: :-)
Bleu Oleander: busy rl day today
Zen Arado: ok better go myself
Liza Deischer: bye everyone
Bleu Oleander: bye all
Zen Arado: bye all
