Theme Session with Eliza and Eos, on the topic of be decisive, know what is, see clearly. The Guardian for this meeting was Eos Amaterasu. The comments are by Eos Amaterasu.

Eliza Madrigal: Lucinda, I think the reason is that there is a character in harry potter named Lavendar....
Eliza Madrigal: funny how our minds get stuck in grooves
Eden Haiku: Pila, so nice to see you, even you are in yopur zombie-away state! :)
    Eliza Madrigal: heheh

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: I started to say Hi to Pila but.... yes... he's here but not *here*
Eden Haiku: Oh yes, the divinator. The one who teaches divination isn't?
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Pila! There you are :)
Pila Mulligan: hi Eliza, Lucinda and Eden
Pila Mulligan: I was sleeping :)
    Eden Haiku: Hi Pila:))))
Eliza Madrigal: Hm... not a teacher... I think a student...
    Eliza Madrigal: Well Aloha :)
    Pila Mulligan: aloha `oe
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Eos :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hey, Agatha :)
Lucinda Lavender: Hi Pila thank you for inviting me today...I was unable to attend due to unforsee things...
Pila Mulligan: hi Eos and Agatha
Eos Amaterasu: Hi eliza, Eden, Pila, Lucinda - having trouble logging in
    Eliza Madrigal: Hello Cal :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello everybody :)
    Calvino Rabeni: Hi everyone!
    Lucinda Lavender: hi cal
Eden Haiku: Hi Eos, Agatha, Calvino.
    Eos Amaterasu: hi cal
Eliza Madrigal: Oh.... eek... glad you made it, Eos
Pila Mulligan: Fox was unable to attend the dream workshop also Lucinda, so her session on nightmares was postponed
    Lucinda Lavender: ah
    Pila Mulligan: hi Cal
Eliza Madrigal is really looking forward to this theme session :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Sharon :)
Lucinda Lavender: I seemed to get to the door but not enter.
    Pila Mulligan: hi Sharon
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi everyone :)
    Eden Haiku: Hello Sophia Sharon!
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi SophiaS
    Eos Amaterasu: Agatha
    Eliza Madrigal: Nice group :)
Eden Haiku: Good title this theme session!
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Eos :)
Eliza Madrigal: I know... have been captivated by it since Eos mentioned it... turning the lines over and over...
Eos Amaterasu: I've been doing that for years :-)
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Eliza Madrigal: I suppose the best way to begin is to introduce the lines themselves... "Be decisive, Know what is, See clearly"
Eliza Madrigal: and to give you the floor, Eos, to elaborate... opening up for further questions from everyone in a little while?
Eos Amaterasu: Okay, so we can start.
    Eliza Madrigal: Yes, sure :)
Eos Amaterasu: By the way, I also thought we could include the 90 secs as part of the theme...
Eos Amaterasu: These three phrases are also described as "the three types of confidence"
Eos Amaterasu: What's puzzled me is that in a way they seem backwards
Eos Amaterasu: You would think that first you can see clearly
    Eliza Madrigal: yes, right
Eos Amaterasu: then you can see what is, how things are
Eos Amaterasu: and then you can make decisions based on that.
Eos Amaterasu: However, this can also describe a kind of PaB approach.
Eos Amaterasu: Which is to drop everything, and let everything be, and start with where you are
Eos Amaterasu: Not even start, since that implies going somewhere, but just be
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eos Amaterasu: So you have sense of appreciation, or presence
Eliza Madrigal: flying without taking off?
Eos Amaterasu: within which and around which everything happens
Eos Amaterasu: It's "The Eos Amaterasu Experience", playing live
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eos Amaterasu: It's good and bad, happy and sad
    Agatha Macbeth: Wow
Eos Amaterasu: sunny weather and rainy weather
Eos Amaterasu: you let it all happen, neither pushing away nor pulling it in, and not ignoring it either
Eos Amaterasu: that's a state of being
Eos Amaterasu: being like a mountain
Eos Amaterasu: on which are grasses, and trees, and rocks, and clouds, and goats, and rain
Eos Amaterasu: but the mountain is there
Eliza Madrigal: What a beautiful image
    Eliza Madrigal: a strong image
Eos Amaterasu: be-ing there, so things come and go, but the appreciation, the allowance, the presence is there no matter what happens
Eos Amaterasu: that's one sense I get of "be decisive"
Eliza Madrigal: Is this a kind of deciseiveness?
    Eliza Madrigal: Ah, yes
Eos Amaterasu: it's not "be discursive", or mull over this and that, but remain in the space of your awareness
Eos Amaterasu: in which everything happens
Eos Amaterasu: So actually that's my first suggested image for the upcoming 90 seconds: be like a mountain
SophiaSharon Larnia: I wondered what be decisive meant in this contxt, to be decisive, too me, implied being locked into something
    Eos Amaterasu: Ah, good observation.
Eliza Madrigal: Decisively settled... I guess can be one interpretation then....
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, it's being more in the space of non-fixation, and being able to rest, totally, in that
    Eos Amaterasu: Exactly, Eliza!

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: Any comments, field notes, btw, on being like a mountain?
    Eos Amaterasu: HI Yidam
Eden Haiku: I was falling asleep almost and seeing forms in the mist of the pond.
Agatha Macbeth: Felt like my head was in the clouds :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Yidam. I'll make you a note about the theme session....
    Yidam Nightfire: hi Eos!
SophiaSharon Larnia: saw a big mountain, right in front of me :)
Eos Amaterasu: Can u say more, SS?
SophiaSharon Larnia: just imagined its contours, peaks, vegetation :)
Eliza Madrigal: this wonderful sense of rest, and yet with lots of activity....
Eliza Madrigal: Is that a bit like your experience, Eden, with 'forms'?
Calvino Rabeni: The mountain, remaining unmoved, lends Being to all the stones, trees, creatures, and waters which surround
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eos Amaterasu: and awareness is ,or is like, that mountain
Eden Haiku: Nah Eliza, just like forms in the clouds you know, going into an hypnagogic state...
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    SophiaSharon Larnia: nods
Eos Amaterasu: I'll shift a bit to the opposite of solidity
    Eos Amaterasu: which is space
    Yidam Nightfire: sounds elementish :)
Eos Amaterasu: which is also a way to talk about the space within which dropping happens
Eos Amaterasu: space cannot be touched
Eos Amaterasu: it you try touching it, or labelling it, or describing it, you put up or reflect some form, some solidiity
Eos Amaterasu: but that very intangible quality of space is its indestructibility
Eos Amaterasu: you can't manipulate it
Eos Amaterasu: and it doesn't manipulate what it contains
    Eliza Madrigal: mmmm...
Eos Amaterasu: so it itself has an unmoveable quality
    Eos Amaterasu: which is paradoxical
Eos Amaterasu: re "be decisive", it is already all there
Eos Amaterasu: you can't add anything to it, or subtract from it
Eos Amaterasu: if you try to fix it it slips away
Eos Amaterasu: if you can't find it you find you're not grasping anything
Eden Haiku: unmovable indesctructible and yet not there, empty?
Eos Amaterasu: and so maybe you are holding space
Eos Amaterasu: you can't mess with it, no matter how hard you try
Eos Amaterasu: it's the flip side of the frustrating impossibility of dropping everything
Eos Amaterasu: so that has a sense of being already victorious
Eos Amaterasu: you don't have to manipulate anything
Eos Amaterasu: and so things can just appear as they are
    Eos Amaterasu: "know what is"
Eos Amaterasu: you can see things as they are
Eos Amaterasu: So my suggestion for upcoming 90 secs is to "be space"
Eliza Madrigal: that from the place of decisive settledness....
Eos Amaterasu: (after this I'll ask you for suggestions :-)
    Eliza Madrigal: Nice... "Be Space"...
Eos Amaterasu: yes, you're not pulled out, or pushed in, so no adding spin to things
Eos Amaterasu: in that sense you also flip: space is solid, and things are fluid

    --BELL--

    Eos Amaterasu: "being space"
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: ¿
Eos Amaterasu: Any observations on this 90-sec experiment?
Eden Haiku: I was transported somewhere,
    Eos Amaterasu: Different space?
Eden Haiku: My screen went into saving mode and the flood of light made me feel near a stream. And yet I was hearing the Pavilion sounds and sounds in my house too. It felt spacious.
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
Eos Amaterasu: space covering both sl and rl....
    Eliza Madrigal: yes!
SophiaSharon Larnia: at firstdrifting, then got a thought that things are related by what they are near, or touch, but not able to interpret more than that
Eden Haiku: And some RL unknown imaginary space, in a mountain near a stream.
Eliza Madrigal: there seems an innate satisfaction to 'being space'... especially being a mountain, too...
Lucinda Lavender: The space that is RL calls me now, thank you for this time:)
    Eos Amaterasu: Bye Lucinda :-)
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Lucinda :) Thanks for coming
    Pila Mulligan: bye Lucinda
    Eden Haiku: Bye Lucinda ;)
    Agatha Macbeth: Sayonara
Eos Amaterasu: space allows relationship, perhaps, SophiaSharon?
Lucinda Lavender: thanks bye all happy too be here with you...
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eos Amaterasu: I'll do a nutshell summary: "being" decisive is a confidence in letting yourself/things be
Calvino Rabeni: Mountain and space seem benevolent in different ways.
Eos Amaterasu: so you can know things as they are, and so then can see clearly: natural action
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, can you say more about that Eos? Natural action?
Calvino Rabeni: Mountain gives confidence in "thisness". Space gives confidence in possibility
Eliza Madrigal: and yes, interesting idea, Calvino... giving....
Eos Amaterasu: Non discursive, more spontaneous; more connected so more to the point, appropriate
Eos Amaterasu: mountain rests, space allows?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: (5 syllables...)
    Eden Haiku: ;)
Eos Amaterasu: (whups, wrong count :-)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Storm :)
    Agatha Macbeth: ???
Eliza Madrigal: you are very giving with your syllables...
Eden Haiku: good bad happy sad :)
    Eos Amaterasu: HI Storm
    Pila Mulligan: hi Storm
    Eden Haiku: Hi Storm!
Storm Nordwind whispers Hi to all
Eliza Madrigal: I'll give you a note, Storm, to catch up :)
    Storm Nordwind: Thanks!
Agatha Macbeth: Hello Storm, can't see you
Eos Amaterasu: good bad happy sad / mountain resting, space allows /
    Eliza Madrigal: Being clearly seen
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Eden Haiku: Yes!
Eos Amaterasu: Heh heh (boiling down the log to a haiku)
    Eliza Madrigal: Many forms :)
Yidam Nightfire: off to bed i go )
Eliza Madrigal: This is very inspiring... So do others have ideas for the 90 seconds coming up?
Eos Amaterasu: Do u want to say more, Eliza?
    Eliza Madrigal: Night Yidam :)
    Eos Amaterasu: 'night Yidam
    SophiaSharon Larnia: bye Yidam
    Agatha Macbeth: Goodnight
    Eden Haiku: Bye Yidam.
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, was considering the form of haiku, the form of a one hr session, the form of art....

    --BELL--

    Eliza Madrigal: all Being appreciated
Eliza Madrigal: :) Missed the bell a bit, but would anyone like to share a reflection or ask a question?
Pila Mulligan: Eos, may I ask, please, what is the source of 'Be decisive, Know what is, See clearly' -- is it from some tradition? something you formulated? ...?
Eos Amaterasu: It's from a text that my Buddhist teacher composed; lines from it have been sticking in my mind
Calvino Rabeni: And the earlier question about them seeming "backwards" ?
Eos Amaterasu: sometimes they take years to unravel :-)
    Eos Amaterasu: or to grok
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eden Haiku: As soon as I read your line about forms Eliza, I started seeing geometrical forms spedding to the center of the pond and my mind went into interpreting I was 'receiving' blue pr
    Eden Haiku: oups..
Calvino Rabeni: So the "reversal" of their order, can be taken as a challenge?
Eos Amaterasu: Well, the reversal was in my (conventional) mind, thinking that the order was odd
Calvino Rabeni: Or simply a viewpoint in time's direction?
Eos Amaterasu: hmm, more like ontology's direction, so to speak
Eliza Madrigal: yes, that was definitely my first impression...
Eliza Madrigal: "how can we be decisive if seeing unclearly" hah
Eliza Madrigal: But what a refreshing turn... starting at the end :)
Calvino Rabeni: This seems an important reversal
Eos Amaterasu: decisiveness as confidence, which is not based on anything, needs no blessing or justification from anything
    Eliza Madrigal: wow
Calvino Rabeni: The clarity of seeing, rests on being, not the other way around
Calvino Rabeni: Yes that is what I was thinking Eos
    Eos Amaterasu: yes.
Eos Amaterasu: actually, maybe this is "being seeing" :-)
    Eos Amaterasu: heh heh
Storm Nordwind interpreted it as 'Be decisive: know what is, see clearly'
    Eliza Madrigal smiling widely
Calvino Rabeni: Or "Decide to Be" ... then the rest follows
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, decisiveness is the ground, from which things can appear as they are, beyond your hopes and fears
Calvino Rabeni: :) every so often I "forget" that :)
Eliza Madrigal: and a bit like bypassing hopes and fears....
Storm Nordwind: The waters of illusion are warm :)
    Eden Haiku: giggles
    Eliza Madrigal: hehe
Calvino Rabeni: Calvino Rabeni imagines slipping into hot springs pool
Eliza Madrigal: I'm very drawn into this framework Eos... it smacks of immediacy... spontaneousness...
Eliza Madrigal: Is that how you have worked with it?
Eos Amaterasu: I think that can be the basis of art
    Eliza Madrigal: spring into being
Eos Amaterasu recalls a photo of Picasso contemplating
Eden Haiku: It makes a lot of sense Eos.
Eos Amaterasu: "first thought, best thought"
Eos Amaterasu: but that can only come from "resting in itself", or no-thought
Eos Amaterasu: or deep listening giving rise to music

    --BELL--

Agatha Macbeth: Bed is calling. Goodnight all
Eliza Madrigal: Night Agatha :) Glad you came
    Eden Haiku: Goodnite Agatha.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: bye Agatha
Eliza Madrigal considers sleep and the many forms which arise in dreams... all while being settled restfully...
Eliza Madrigal: Thanks very much for this session Eos :)
Eos Amaterasu: Thank you for coming and participating!
Eliza Madrigal: Would you be interested in continuing the theme??
Eden Haiku: Yes Eos and you too Eliza, it was very interesting! Puzzling and fascinating!
Calvino Rabeni: I enjoyed it, very nice, thanks Eos :)
Eliza Madrigal: puzzling and fascinating... yes :))
Eos Amaterasu: Sure.... would you like to lead it, Eliza?
    Eos Amaterasu: (heh heh)
    Calvino Rabeni: :) Eliza
Eden Haiku: yes yes, say yes Eliza!
Eliza Madrigal: Oh gee... from a puzzled and fascinated place? hehe
Eliza Madrigal: I'd love to continue this...
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, let us have some of your Eliza power :)
    Eliza Madrigal: coughts
    Eliza Madrigal: coughs too
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Pila Mulligan: be decisive ELiza
Eliza Madrigal can keep showing up for Eos's sessions and asking him questions about space and mountains...
    Eliza Madrigal: grin
Pila Mulligan: decisive seems to be the critical term -- know what is and see clearly are simpler admonitions -- in the context of the simpler terms 'decisive' suggests not wavering from what you see
Eden Haiku: That's s a way to do it, let us spam his sessions!
Eliza Madrigal: Ah! yes, Pila.... unwavering confidence!!
Eliza Madrigal: hehe Eden and I will team up :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: much of that was explained to me this session, thank you :) (sorry so quiet)
Eliza Madrigal: Okay then we'll definitely continue. I feel we have just scratched the surface...
Eden Haiku: Quiet but you showed us a mountain SS!
Eos Amaterasu: That's okay SophiaSharon, I know you're more a builder, visualizer, former
SophiaSharon Larnia: umm a bit sick today actually lol
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh, still? :(
Eliza Madrigal: Sorry to hear that... quite a cold then
Pila Mulligan: sorry to hear it Sharon
    Eliza Madrigal: forced rest :)
    Eden Haiku: Oh...
Storm Nordwind passes Sharon a cup of healing herb tea
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eos Amaterasu: yes, well-beams of strength
SophiaSharon Larnia: such kindness tanks :)
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Pila Mulligan: there is a Chinese herbal pill named Gan Mao Ling (translated, it means works for colds) -- it really does work
    SophiaSharon Larnia: thanks even *
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, can even ear your cold, Sharon (tanks)
    Eliza Madrigal: *hear
    Eliza Madrigal: hah
    SophiaSharon Larnia: ha!
Eden Haiku: Healing virtual hands across the East Coast
Eliza Madrigal: Good tip Pila :)
    Pila Mulligan: preventative too :)
    Eos Amaterasu: (self-descriptive medicine)
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
    Pila Mulligan: yes, Eos :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: and not quite understanding your description Eos, but can think about that later :)
Eos Amaterasu: so you have to come to the next session, with Eliza
Eos Amaterasu: who will explain all :-)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: nods
    SophiaSharon Larnia: lol
Storm Nordwind: The next session ... with added Eliza Power!
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh My
Eliza Madrigal: But yes I'm happy to continue
    Eliza Madrigal: thrilled even :)
Eden Haiku: Lightness of Heart you need Eliza...
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Calvino Rabeni: Ack, I just visualized a potential session title :)
Eliza Madrigal smiles.... will rest in confidence(s)
Calvino Rabeni: The Power of Wind - gentle and persistent
Calvino Rabeni: Now passing over the mountain
    Eden Haiku: ;)

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: Deep Thanks, Eos and Everyone.... must head to bed now...
    SophiaSharon Larnia: bye all :))
Eliza Madrigal: Theme session tomorrow morning also...
Eos Amaterasu: me too, deep bow to all
Eliza Madrigal: TSK with Pema and Maxine
    Storm Nordwind: Goodnight all leaving!
Eos Amaterasu: (sorry I'll miss that)
Eden Haiku: Thnak you again Eos and Eliza and everybody. I enjoyed the session very much. Visions of my bed are haunting me :)
    Eos Amaterasu: Good night, all!
    Eliza Madrigal: Namaste
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes thank you very much!!
    Pila Mulligan: bye

    Storm Nordwind: Namaste
