    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Arch!

    --BELL--

Archmage Atlantis: Hello Eos, is this your assigned session?
    Eos Amaterasu: Yes (ssh)
Archmage Atlantis: I'm not very good at (ssh)
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Archmage Atlantis: That implies secrets
Eos Amaterasu: I think there's no closing bell for the first bell
Eos Amaterasu: we're henceforth within the big 90 secs
Eos Amaterasu: by shsh I meant dropping talking
    Eos Amaterasu: opening up
    Eos Amaterasu: not holding secrets
Eos Amaterasu: or maybe letting the secrets come up
    Eos Amaterasu: in big space
Archmage Atlantis: Do you know the genomic music project Eos
    Eos Amaterasu: no
    Eos Amaterasu: hi cal
Calvino Rabeni: Hey fellas, mind if Ii join you :)
Archmage Atlantis: It is now known as Pandora.....
    Eos Amaterasu: Hmm, interesting: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_Genome_Project
Eos Amaterasu: will check it out
Eos Amaterasu: jump right in, Calvino
Archmage Atlantis: Cal, I can think of few who i would respect
Eos Amaterasu: jump first, ask questions later :-)
Archmage Atlantis: You are one, Cal
    Calvino Rabeni: TY Archmage
    Archmage Atlantis: Eos is another
    Eos Amaterasu: TY, AM
Eos Amaterasu: We've been talking about quiet, and secrets, and music genome project
Calvino Rabeni: "The wary one enters carefully..The wise man knocks the door in."
    Calvino Rabeni: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: Shr
Calvino Rabeni: Secrets. G-d loves 'em.
Calvino Rabeni: Arch, I respect you as a knower of depth and quality
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Eos :), Cal :), Arch :)

    Archmage asks the SL/RL question

Archmage Atlantis: Eliza I feel a need to ask you a question
Eliza Madrigal is very sleepy but unable to sleep... will be listening
Eos Amaterasu: Pandora is not available in Canada

    Eliza Madrigal: Oh, okay Arch
    Archmage Atlantis: In RL
Archmage Atlantis: are you female or male
Eliza Madrigal: Do you think that's important Arch?
    Archmage Atlantis: yes
Eliza Madrigal: well isn't some of the fun of SL that we can be any gender?
    Archmage Atlantis: yes
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Archmage Atlantis: this is not about fun
    Eos Amaterasu: :-(

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: Arch, I'm a girl. :) Still, I think it doesn't matter too much...
Eliza Madrigal: And now I'd like to be quiet... not feeling so hot... cant sleep and am sleepy :)
Eos Amaterasu: Hmm, would like to acknowledge your tiredness, and appreciate your being here
Calvino Rabeni: I think, it is one of the stipulated mysteries of second life
    Eos Amaterasu: in avatar proximity
Eliza Madrigal: :) Thanks... comforting spot :
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Archmage Atlantis: Not at all, my mother was the strongerst person in her world
Eos Amaterasu: as well as wherever in the world :-)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Calvino Rabeni: as in, hey lady! what is your precise age and how much do you weigh already :)
    Eos Amaterasu visualizes a scale
Eos Amaterasu: weights being dropped at one end....
    Archmage Atlantis: staight men
    Eos Amaterasu: as in comedy?
Calvino Rabeni: There seems to be a virus of the organic variety making the rounds too
    Eos Amaterasu: ?
Archmage Atlantis: they never measure how much they weight
Calvino Rabeni: Well, one of my favorite "straight men" was the character "Peter Gunn" who charted the middle path through a world of hysterics, con artists, cops, and poets.
Archmage Atlantis: Fat is the new cigarette
Eos Amaterasu vaguely remembers such a tv series (?)
Eos Amaterasu: Did it have recognizable theme music?
    Eos Amaterasu: (memories kicking in...)
Calvino Rabeni: And I quote - "There ain't no jelly donut on the other side of that window. Only... Death."
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Eos Amaterasu: he heh
Calvino Rabeni: Yeah, noir minimalism from the Beat '50's
Eos Amaterasu: poetic realism without gloves
Eos Amaterasu: so is that how language turns reality into art?
Eos Amaterasu: the jelly donut is the necessary ingredient
Calvino Rabeni: No sugar perhaps, but a dose of irony
Calvino Rabeni: The fine line is - mastering reality without so much in turn being subjugated by the mastery
Eos Amaterasu: getting beat to death by it
Archmage Atlantis: Starvation does create thin peope
    Eos Amaterasu: wearing reality lightly
Eos Amaterasu: problem is our words go pro
Calvino Rabeni: And this starvation we experience - how might it be seen by future generations?
Calvino Rabeni: :) Eos, indeed a predicament
Archmage Atlantis: That is why we were given better brains
Eos Amaterasu: humor can be saving grace, if it's the fundamental humor

Calvino Rabeni: Our words get a licence, set up shop, and then start charging us double fees
Eos Amaterasu: which is giving & kind

Archmage Atlantis: To see if that worked
Calvino Rabeni is searching memory for examples of Eos' generous possibility
Eos Amaterasu: we're awarely here as ourselves for just a little cutout of the bigger space-time
Eos Amaterasu: we get to cut up for a while :-)
Calvino Rabeni is imagining self as a puppet
Eos Amaterasu: 90 secs cutout coming up
Calvino Rabeni: and the irony of what has happened to the concept of an Avatar

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: What is that irony that you see, Calvino?
Archmage Atlantis: Almost all women protect this life......if men do not give them something bigger to protect, we will die......and the Creator will wipe us out, and try again
    Archmage Atlantis: That is evolution

Calvino Rabeni: The irony is the disconnect - an avatar as the embodiment as a god - and in SL and certain movies, the avatar is a mere puppet
Archmage Atlantis: Welcome to the worlds of the creator Cal

Eliza Madrigal: nite guys.. am going to try again :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Thanks
Calvino Rabeni: Good night, sleep well
    Eos Amaterasu: Good night, Eliza!

Eos Amaterasu: Not too far from the vision of the AI, the robot, becoming indistinguishable from human
Archmage Atlantis: And then there were three
Archmage Atlantis: We ar the AI, Eos
    Archmage Atlantis: we choose
    Archmage Atlantis: what happens after
Eos Amaterasu: we are or have intelligence, but that is heart as well as mind: "sentience" seems to say both
Archmage Atlantis: well my cat is afraid
Eos Amaterasu: symbiotic sentience, not artificial intelligence
Eos Amaterasu: or, as you brought up earlier, the element of care
Calvino Rabeni: An artificial intelligence would be another kind of puppet
Calvino Rabeni: but the string seems neither to start nor to end where it is supposed
Eos Amaterasu: we need to ask who, including maybe us, is pulling our strings
Eos Amaterasu: we put our own carrots in front of us
Calvino Rabeni: The ponderings of a conscious AI - what was my interface before I was constructed
Eos Amaterasu: what strings brought me here?
Calvino Rabeni: However it's theological curiosity would be more easily answered due to the obvious presence of its apparent Creator
    Archmage Atlantis: Nice metaphor Eos
Calvino Rabeni: The AI not surprisingly thinks - Well who created You, then, who pulls the strings of the roboticist

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: we live in that question
Calvino Rabeni: We smuggle intelligence into our creations, and smuggle Care _out_
Eos Amaterasu: that would be nice :-)
Archmage Atlantis: If I may venture a statement....the AI is a metaphor fo God
Eos Amaterasu: the image of Kuanyin, bodhisattva of compassion, is appropriate for our age
Eos Amaterasu: And Kuanyin can be either male or female
Calvino Rabeni: I meant, in the sense of the metaphor of information, which reduces communication to an exchange of factual knowledge about objectivities of the world - and abandons both sensation and moral engagement
Calvino Rabeni: Quan Yin being the antithesis in some ways of that :)
Eos Amaterasu: notion of AI also abstracts prematurely
Eos Amaterasu: QWAN : Quality Without A Name (Christopher Alexander)
Eos Amaterasu: Yün: enriching golden luscious quality of things
    Eos Amaterasu: QWAN-YUN
    Archmage Atlantis: Ones and zeros
Eos Amaterasu: thin ones and fat zeros

Calvino Rabeni: Christopher Alexander wasn't willing to have his Patterns reduced to empty linguistic shells

Eos Amaterasu:the 90 secs can be a dip in the luscious pool of being

    Archmage Atlantis: Lao Tze
Eos Amaterasu: patterns need to be inhabited
Calvino Rabeni: I like that - it might deserve to be highlighted in the "current definition of PAB"
Calvino Rabeni: Right Arch, Christopher Alexander appears a neo-Taoist
Eos Amaterasu: "the way that can be named is not the nameless way"
    Calvino Rabeni: yes, that quailty
Archmage Atlantis: Or, to take us bacl
Calvino Rabeni: Which was his strategy to prevent his patterns from being digitized
    Archmage Atlantis: What's infinity?
Eos Amaterasu: a world in a grain of sand
Calvino Rabeni: Infinity is - the tacit recognition that one cannot measure the total quality of the world one is embedded within
Calvino Rabeni: It is the world, seen from the perspective of the grain
Calvino Rabeni: not a measure of scale, but of perspective
Calvino Rabeni: (or some such late night poetic ramblings)
Archmage Atlantis: So, which we chose to be?

    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: I actually like Blake's proverbs and other writing
Eos Amaterasu: let there be intoxication inside each word!
Calvino Rabeni: So be it then.
Eos Amaterasu: A good note on which to depart
Eos Amaterasu: Thank you Cal and Arch!
Calvino Rabeni: A good thing to drop - the notion, seemingly modern, that I am a puppet master, but that I am only allowed to pull my own strings
Calvino Rabeni: Thanks, fellas, glad I dropped in! :)
    Calvino Rabeni: Take care.
    Eos Amaterasu is seeing CGI
Calvino Rabeni: (CGI? Any one else noticed random non-SL-world artifacts appearing? I thought it perhaps graphic glitches of the 2.0 viewer)
    Calvino Rabeni: (tag:90-second, 9-seconds)
