The Guardian for this meeting was stevenaia Michinaga. The comments are by stevenaia Michinaga.
Paradise joined me after about 15 minutes of me perched on the roof waiting for arrivals.....
Out conversations meandered from the fountain to work and current work related projects and urban design to vacations, employment, and blood pressure, ending up in a short PaB and body connections related to dropping.....
Paradise Tennant: hiya steve
stevenaia Michinaga: hi Paradise, I was inspecting the roof
Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: where did the water go :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I turned it off for a small group
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Paradise Tennant: very quiet some nites isn't it
Paradise Tennant: often find it .. sort of too quiet :)
stevenaia Michinaga: type "/9help" to see how to control the fountain and cushions
Paradise Tennant: ahh kk
stevenaia Michinaga: the water sounds can be distracting
stevenaia Michinaga: are you considering going to SF in April
Paradise Tennant: not likely was away two weeks in feb
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, sounded so nice
Paradise Tennant: difficult to come back for a month and then be gone another week
Paradise Tennant: I get lots of holiday time just find it hard to use it
Paradise Tennant: are you going
--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: I am in the strange situation, when I am busy enough to afford a vacation I don;t have the time, but when I aI am not busy enough to have the time, I can;t afford a vacation
stevenaia Michinaga: Clients can be a fickle group
Paradise Tennant: smiles .. yes life's most common conundrum :) when you have money you have not time when you have time you have not money
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, well put
Paradise Tennant: *no *no
stevenaia Michinaga: so best to appreciate whichever comes your way
Paradise Tennant: YES!
stevenaia Michinaga: live is a vacation
stevenaia Michinaga: life
Paradise Tennant: smiles
stevenaia Michinaga: which makes vacations especially nice
Paradise Tennant: yes they are really nice .. like to get away .. love traveling .. happy to do at the spur of the moment too ..
Paradise Tennant: how is your practice coming :)
stevenaia Michinaga: RL or PaB...
Paradise Tennant: both :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I am at the early stages of some very exciting work that is developing nicely, keeping me very busy
Paradise Tennant: ah so no time to practice ;(
stevenaia Michinaga: probably one of the more complex things I;ve worked on
Paradise Tennant: the infrastructure project ?
stevenaia Michinaga: no, seems before PaB I always have a bit of time for Chi Gung or my Tai Chi Practice
stevenaia Michinaga: which relaxes me for PaB here
stevenaia Michinaga: it;s a large urban market and 5 stories of housing
Paradise Tennant: smiles that would keep you busy :)
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, it is also unique for the relatively small city I work in
Paradise Tennant: unique is good
Paradise Tennant: smiles
stevenaia Michinaga: rebuilding on substantially empty lots
stevenaia Michinaga: on a main street
stevenaia Michinaga: at the edge of downtown
Paradise Tennant: so you are happy ... you have a project that makes you really stretch and think .. always a lucky thing !
stevenaia Michinaga: I could go no :)
stevenaia Michinaga: on
Paradise Tennant: listens
stevenaia Michinaga: (lots of editing tonight)
stevenaia Michinaga: urban markets are not widespread these days, most have removed themselves from downtowns so this will be a good change for the city, keep people from needing to drive to get food
Paradise Tennant: yes I pretty much very seldom drive .. use transit or walk so much more relaxing
Paradise Tennant: love taking the tube .. can listen to music .. organize my day in my head .. it is all good often the most quiet time I have until I am heading back home
stevenaia Michinaga: you are lucky, but Toronto , like many large cities has localized resources
Paradise Tennant: yes
Paradise Tennant: good planning
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, that too
Paradise Tennant: well . hugely difficult processes but the end results have not been too bad
stevenaia Michinaga: in the states everyone "moved out" and transit does not work in the mists of sprawl
--BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: everyone wants trains back but will not move back to the city to support them
stevenaia Michinaga: so they don;t build urban housing
stevenaia Michinaga: hoping this will be the beginning of reversing the trend
Paradise Tennant: city have so many facets .. you have more of a crime issue because of a lack of social programs that creates a very definite geography
Paradise Tennant: well in the very big cities that is
stevenaia Michinaga: crime exists in the suburbs, but home break-in and traffic accidents just just don;t seem t be the same as urban crime
stevenaia Michinaga: but it's all relative, when people from NY come, they laugh at what we call crime
Paradise Tennant: not as pronounced in canada but no guns and lots of welfare programs .. don't mind paying the taxes like to walk my dog at 2 am anywhere and not think about it
stevenaia Michinaga: nice
stevenaia Michinaga: you shouldn;t let your dogs run you like that :)
Paradise Tennant: but our taxes are so much higher lol .. I work till sometime in June before I actually finish paying my annual tax bill
Paradise Tennant: lol
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, but if we wold add healthcare to our taxes it would be the same thing
Paradise Tennant: like 56% of your income
Paradise Tennant: yes
stevenaia Michinaga: but most live in denial of that and pint the finger at the rest of the world about how "bad" socialized medicine would be here
Paradise Tennant: hmm
Paradise Tennant: yes every place has its successes and challenges
stevenaia Michinaga: kind of like standing on the island with the water rising all around you and saying we're safe there
stevenaia Michinaga: well maybe a bad metaphor
Paradise Tennant: well I am very happy you are enjoying what you are working on ..makes the days so much brighter :)
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, it would be unfortunate if the work you do pains you
Paradise Tennant: well shall we explore a PAB topic ..anything come to mine
Paradise Tennant: *mind
stevenaia Michinaga: A close friend lost her job which she did not like, her blood pressure went from 180/something to 120/something once she was unemployed
stevenaia Michinaga: sure
Paradise Tennant: lol thinks work is pretty much unhealthy for many folks :)
stevenaia Michinaga: think of the physical affect of PaB
stevenaia Michinaga: how letting go can calm...
Paradise Tennant: yes dropping
stevenaia Michinaga: dropping probably lowers BP too
--BELL--
Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: speaking of dropping .. I think I am going to have to quietly sneak out .. I am sorry I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open .. just a very busy week :)
stevenaia Michinaga: were you always your calm self or was it something you acquired later in life?
stevenaia Michinaga: something to answer next time we meet
stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Paradise Tennant: lol always pretty calm
Paradise Tennant: :)
Paradise Tennant: sweet dreams :)
stevenaia Michinaga: night Paradise
stevenaia Michinaga: waves back
