    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Qt :)
    Qt Core: hi Sophia
SophiaSharon Larnia: how are you? Is it as lovely there as it is here in Pa?
Qt Core: quite good with a little rain
SophiaSharon Larnia: HI Coder, HI Anaise
    Coder Criss: hello :)
    Anaise Vaughan: Hi :)
Coder Criss: can we join you?
    Qt Core: hi coder, anaise
    SophiaSharon Larnia: please do :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: have either of you been here before? at a play as being group?
    Coder Criss: no
    Anaise Vaughan: no
Coder Criss: i was zapping around and found the note today
SophiaSharon Larnia: did you take a notecard at the entrance ?
    Coder Criss: yes :)
    Anaise Vaughan: yes:)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: nice
Coder Criss: i looked at the wiki also, looked interesting :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes, you know we record our sessions and post them on the wiki then?
Coder Criss: yes, i saw that
    Anaise Vaughan nods
Qt Core: there are no more the old nice noobs ;-)
SophiaSharon Larnia: and thats ok with you both??
SophiaSharon Larnia: ahh lol I havent even gotten that far yet
    Anaise Vaughan: yes
    Coder Criss: yes
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
Coder Criss: What i did not really understood is, for what purpose the experiment is
Coder Criss: or what the experiment entails exactly
SophiaSharon Larnia: well, Im still working it out myself and I've been coming here for a while
    Coder Criss: i can understand
SophiaSharon Larnia: some may have different answers, I can only speak for myself
Qt Core: in the end i think there is just one big experiment: life
    SophiaSharon Larnia: nods
    Coder Criss: well for sure
Coder Criss: it is fresh however to see such a group, bit more serieus then the mainstream
    Coder Criss: serious
Coder Criss: so, i'm very curious :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: for me its been to explore what being 'is', after dropping the identifications that I've accumulated in life, 'being' having many different names
    Anaise Vaughan: me too...
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Agatha :)
Qt Core: as i see it this group is also trying to vanish some of the seriousness about such topics
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes that too!!!!!
    Coder Criss: hello :)
Agatha Macbeth: Hi SSL, QT :)
    Qt Core: hi agatha
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello
    Anaise Vaughan: Hi Agatha
Coder Criss: so basically is playful philosophy
    Coder Criss: right?
    Coder Criss: :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes indeed!!
    Coder Criss: hehehe
Coder Criss: it's good to look at it seriously, but not take it too serious
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi newbie
    Coder Criss: hello :)
    newbie: hi sophia
    newbie: where am i
SophiaSharon Larnia: this is a play as being group newbie, have you been here before?

    SophiaSharon Larnia: welcome
    newbie: yes i am
    newbie: ty
SophiaSharon Larnia: i'll talk to you in IM as to not disturb the others :)
    --BELL--
Anaise Vaughan: what are we talking about today?
SophiaSharon Larnia: during the bell we stop and drop in a meditative sense, like it says on the wiki
Qt Core: no topic yet, we rarely have planned topics
Qt Core: ry to drop ;-)
SophiaSharon Larnia: for 90 seconds here, longer then the 9 sec in rl
    Qt Core: try
Agatha Macbeth: Or if we do it rarely works that way :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes
    Coder Criss: ah aye
    Anaise Vaughan: ok
Coder Criss: will drift quick ofc
SophiaSharon Larnia: I have to say im discombulated by some many new people here, we can go several days with out one :)
Agatha Macbeth: Wake up Qt :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: so many*
    SophiaSharon Larnia: HI Ara :)
    arabella Ella: Hiya
    Anaise Vaughan: Hi arabella
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Ara :)
    Coder Criss: hi :)
    Qt Core: :-) hi ara
SophiaSharon Larnia: sometimes there are theme sessions, most often talking about things that are of interest atm
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Anaise Vaughan: where is everyone from?
SophiaSharon Larnia: im on the east coast usa
    Agatha Macbeth: England
    Qt Core: italy
    Coder Criss: Holland
Anaise Vaughan: I am in Belgium
arabella Ella: I'm from Malta in the Mediterranean ... where are you from?
    newbie: bahrain
    arabella Ella: ciao Qt!!!
arabella Ella: are all of you from bahrain?
    Coder Criss: oh wow
SophiaSharon Larnia: one of the more diverse gatherings :)
arabella Ella: yes but predominantly european at this time :)
Coder Criss: you are upset tho sophia of the newcomers?
Coder Criss: im not sure what discombobulated means, so looked it up :P
SophiaSharon Larnia: ooh im sure i spelled it wrong
    Agatha Macbeth: It's American ;-)
Qt Core: surprised and a little shocked ;-)
    arabella Ella: ?
arabella Ella: what does it mean? and what is the context as must have missed that?
SophiaSharon Larnia: oh no not at all, just have to say what the group is about, is all
Agatha Macbeth: B4 you arrived Ara
    arabella Ella: ah
SophiaSharon Larnia: too strong a word then LOL
    Coder Criss: :)
Coder Criss: how long you all been with these meetings?
Agatha Macbeth: Only about five months in my case
arabella Ella: over a year in my case
Anaise Vaughan: that's a lifetime in SL :)
    Coder Criss: ah wow, yes
SophiaSharon Larnia: less than a year for me by a month
SophiaSharon Larnia: it is Anaise indeed
arabella Ella: if i remember correctly the group has existed for nearly two years now
arabella Ella: i guess we are due to celebrate two years soon
    Agatha Macbeth: Since April 2008
Coder Criss: that is very long for a group to survive, active
Coder Criss: still active i mean
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes and its very active
Agatha Macbeth: Oh it's active alright!
Coder Criss: i can see that
arabella Ella: well it is like meeting RL friends here as we get to know each other very well
arabella Ella: and some of us have met in RL too and we feel we have known each other for ages
    Coder Criss: ah nice :)
    Anaise Vaughan: ce :)
    Anaise Vaughan: nice :)
Coder Criss: sorry if i ask many questions, just curious :)
    arabella Ella: feel free
    SophiaSharon Larnia: please ask :)
Agatha Macbeth: No learning without questions :)
    Coder Criss: true that
arabella Ella: and curiousity is something i think people need to cherish and cultivate more
Agatha Macbeth: Unless they are cats ;-)
Coder Criss: I'm sure many of you had a reason to do this, also with many questions... seeing you do this for a long time, you think you got some questions answered?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Zen :)
    Coder Criss: hello zen
arabella Ella: Aga ... british irony again!
    Zen Arado: Hi all:)
    Anaise Vaughan: hi Zen
Agatha Macbeth: Hello dere Zen :)
    arabella Ella: Hiya Zen
SophiaSharon Larnia: interesting question Coder, as you know, asking leads to me questions, but Ive been able to relax how I ask the questions
arabella Ella: i think we explore questions rather than attempt to find answers IMHO
    SophiaSharon Larnia: to more*
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes
    Coder Criss: ah yes
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Stevenaia :)
arabella Ella: my feeling is that we all wish to find more meaning in life and we are ... or seem to me to be ... on a quest to achieve that as much as possible
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello
    arabella Ella: Hiya Steve, Susi
    --BELL--
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Steve
    SophiaSharon Larnia: HI Susi :))
    Zen Arado: Hi Susi :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
    Zen Arado: Hi Steve:)
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_ to all
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello
Susi Alcott: sorry I mixed the hour again
    arabella Ella: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Don't we all? :(
Susi Alcott: ah...then all might be well _/!\_
SophiaSharon Larnia: its a place to talk about our experiences with the 9 sec stops, but lots of other topics come up, as you saw on the wiki
SophiaSharon Larnia: i will brb, afk :)
arabella Ella: i think we would all like to put pressure to get USA and Europe in synch re DST
    Agatha Macbeth: Would help
Zen Arado: or just stop it altogether
Zen Arado: what is the advantage?
    Agatha Macbeth: Mmm that too
arabella Ella: longer days with more sunshine for me
Agatha Macbeth: Extra hour's daylight when awake presumably
Zen Arado: but the days are the same length?
arabella Ella: but it is light for longer in summer
Qt Core: more sunshine, less electricity for lighting (teoretically)
    arabella Ella nods to Qt
Zen Arado: you could go to bed later or get up later or something?
Agatha Macbeth: Or come to PaB later :)
arabella Ella: please dont ask me to get up earlier ... impossible!
    Agatha Macbeth: Me too
    arabella Ella hates mornings
    Agatha Macbeth: Me too!
    SophiaSharon Larnia: smiles
SophiaSharon Larnia: i love the very early morning when the sun comes up
Agatha Macbeth: Takes me about an hor to wake up usually
    Agatha Macbeth: hour
SophiaSharon Larnia: but then I work nights ;p
    arabella Ella: at least :)
    Agatha Macbeth: You do?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes
Zen Arado: but we could adjust out own times couldn't we
    Agatha Macbeth: Ooh
Zen Arado: if we could get employers to agree too
Agatha Macbeth: There's the rub dear boy
Qt Core: or even work from home (depending on the job)
    Zen Arado: Aye
arabella Ella: yes who knows what the future of work will bring ... what with many of us being connected 24/7
SophiaSharon Larnia: I adjust my own times Zen ahahah
Qt Core: tried it when i had a broken habd and could not drive, i can't, too distractions at home
    Qt Core: hand
Zen Arado: I tend to get up earlier in Summer
Agatha Macbeth: It's a lot easier to wake up when it's light, I agree
arabella Ella: it is lovely here in summer to go to the beach late afternoon or early evening
arabella Ella: when it is still light
arabella Ella: and we don't have twilight here
    arabella Ella: too far south
Agatha Macbeth: We lost Steve :(
arabella Ella: owwww he must av crashed
Agatha Macbeth: He must have Fefozitis ;-)
    arabella Ella: ??
    Agatha Macbeth: +n
arabella Ella: what has Fef to do with it?
Agatha Macbeth: He's always doing that too
    arabella Ella: ah
    SophiaSharon Larnia: brb again sorry
    Agatha Macbeth: WB Sharon
    --BELL--
arabella Ella: a few questions for Qt if you dont mind?
    Qt Core: shit
    arabella Ella: :)
    Qt Core: ops shot
    Agatha Macbeth: Who has?
    arabella Ella: easy ones today
    arabella Ella: moi
    Agatha Macbeth: (Phew)
    Zen Arado: mastermind :)
arabella Ella: so Qt was yesterday like Father's Day in Italy?
    Qt Core: yes
arabella Ella: and was it a public holiday too?
Agatha Macbeth: I've started so I'll finish....
Qt Core: no it is not public nor religious, informal
Zen Arado: commercial in other words?
    Agatha Macbeth: Probably
arabella Ella: ah ... here it was a public holiday but not Father's Day ... just saw that on Italian TV and was surprised
    arabella Ella: St Joseph
Qt Core: not even, usually kids make something atrsy at school to gift theyr fathers
Zen Arado: who started Father's day?
    Susi Alcott: ppl in USA
arabella Ella: and my second question to Qt is ...
arabella Ella: for St Joseph we eat Zeppoli a sweet with ricotta and honey
arabella Ella: do you have them too?
    Agatha Macbeth: Yum
Qt Core: yes, in sicily, zeppole is the name there
    Zen Arado: ricotta cheese?
    arabella Ella: yes
arabella Ella: like small balls of chouix pastry filled with sweet ricotta and covered with honey and chopped nuts
arabella Ella: and the name Zeppoli or Zeppole comes from GiuZZeppi
Qt Core: something very low on calories ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: Gotta love small balls
    arabella Ella: :)
    Coder Criss: lol
arabella Ella: just ate a few ... delicious and yummy
    Agatha Macbeth: Mmm
    Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
arabella Ella: we also have Quarezimal ... do you have that too Qt?
arabella Ella: and Figolli for Easter
Agatha Macbeth: Sounds like an Aztec god
arabella Ella: Quare is for the 40 days of lent
Qt Core: never heard the names, ;-) Quaresima = lent
Coder Criss: the god of sugar
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
Zen Arado: we just have chocolate eggs
arabella Ella: one of the few sweets one was permitted in the past
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
arabella Ella: oh we have the eggs too
    Qt Core: from quatanta= forty
    arabella Ella: yes
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Qt Core: quaranta (terrible spelling tonight, sorry)
    arabella Ella giggles
    Agatha Macbeth pokes QT
    Qt Core: ouch
arabella Ella: so no Quarezimal and no Figolli Qt?
    Agatha Macbeth: Not that hard!
    Qt Core: no, ara
arabella Ella: oh ... we also have hot cross buns in lent ... wonder where those came from and what their significance is?
Zen Arado: yes we have those too
    Zen Arado: for Easter
    arabella Ella: yes
Zen Arado: Jesus dying on the cross?
arabella Ella: our traditions are quite mixed a bit of british legacy plus some mediterranean ones
arabella Ella: i guess the cross is somehow significant
    arabella Ella: like holy buns?
Zen Arado: that's what Easter commorates
SophiaSharon Larnia: back, and singing hot cross buns thanks alot llol
    Agatha Macbeth: Very signficant Ara!
Zen Arado: but rising from the dead too
    arabella Ella: yes
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep
    Zen Arado: commemorates
Zen Arado: my pselling bad tonight too
    Zen Arado: spelling
Coder Criss: do you all have different religions... or not really speak about that?
    Susi Alcott: have no religion
    Susi Alcott: but know many
arabella Ella: we have lots of Good Friday processions here too ... a huge local and tourist attraction .. and on Easter we have processions with the Risen Christ
Zen Arado: is Buddhism a religion?
SophiaSharon Larnia: I think we are diverse
    Susi Alcott: ah no
    Coder Criss: not really zen
    Susi Alcott: indeed not
    Agatha Macbeth: No gods...
arabella Ella: yes i think we are very diverse here
Susi Alcott: but sadly some people have made that to be the religion to them
    Coder Criss: you discuss it?
SophiaSharon Larnia: if it comes up :)
Agatha Macbeth: More like a non-religion...
arabella Ella: of course we discuss various religions and beliefs and practice
Susi Alcott: but to me all of the religions are part of the wider truth
    Agatha Macbeth nods
arabella Ella: please say more Susi if you coulld?
Coder Criss: I think the same Susi
Coder Criss: although closest would be buddism
Susi Alcott: as imo all of the religions are people's try to tell about the truth they have experienced
Susi Alcott: as all the religions are anyway created by people
Zen Arado: or what they were brought up to believe
    arabella Ella nods
    SophiaSharon Larnia: nods
Susi Alcott: that is also creation when one helps any idea to spread
arabella Ella: our cultural upbringing influenes our beliefs to a great extent i feel
Zen Arado: some never question their religion of birth i think
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Bertram :)
    --BELL--
arabella Ella: so does our geography somehow
Susi Alcott: the whole turth always includes also people's beliefs which they live to come true
    arabella Ella: Hiya Bert :)
Agatha Macbeth: Guten Abend Berti :)
    Coder Criss: hello :)
    Zen Arado: Guten Abend Bert
    Susi Alcott: good morning Bert
Zen Arado: hope you sre right Aga :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Me too :)
Agatha Macbeth: Still blue then Bert?
Bertram Jacobus: yes. sry - felt silent ... and hello all :-)
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Zen Arado: wonders what it is like to feel silent
    Bertram Jacobus: it´s wonderful !
    Agatha Macbeth: Quiet?
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_
    Bertram Jacobus: peace
    Zen Arado: I see
    Susi Alcott: and warmth
    Bertram Jacobus: yes
SophiaSharon Larnia: I have to go, bye for now all :))
    Bertram Jacobus: bye sophia ...

    Zen Arado: bye Sharon :)
    Coder Criss: bye sophia :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: waves :)
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_ Sophia
arabella Ella: if you join one of the retreats you may learn and experience the feeling of silence Aga
    arabella Ella: bye SSL
    Anaise Vaughan: bye Sophia
Coder Criss: your have read the book of death susi?
    Coder Criss: you*
Zen Arado: silence is hard to find
Bertram Jacobus: matter of time zen i´d say ...
Bertram Jacobus: only matter of time ...
Coder Criss: i wondered, because you said about not remembering birth
Zen Arado: there is usually noise in the background no matter where you go
arabella Ella: i was very surprised with the experience of the silent day during the retreat ... a very pleasant surprise
arabella Ella: the only noise in the background was the humming of bees in the countryside
    Agatha Macbeth: Unfortunately yes Zen
Susi Alcott: the silence is alwys inside one
    Zen Arado: yes ...the stillness
Qt Core: i usually get more noise from inside than outside
Bertram Jacobus: yess ara - that was really very nice ... :-)
    arabella Ella smiles
Susi Alcott: -> Zen so might it be that you have experiensed that often, but have not connected it to the word 'silence'
Zen Arado: the word 'silence' refers to environmental noise for me
    Zen Arado: prefer 'stillness'
Susi Alcott: in buddhism that phrase might been 'described' with the word 'emptyness'
Zen Arado: absense od noise rather
    Zen Arado: yes
    Bertram Jacobus: words ...
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Zen Arado: but the stillness can be there even if there is a lot of external noise
    Zen Arado: stillness inside
    Bertram Jacobus: agree
    Zen Arado: always there
Susi Alcott: thinks that no person can live at least long human life withouht experiencing this phrase for the strength now and them
    Bertram Jacobus: heyya mick ! ... :-)
    Zen Arado: Hi Mick :)
Susi Alcott: to one person that is always there; to an other seldom...
    Agatha Macbeth: Yo Mick :)
    Coder Criss: hi mick :)
    Mickorod Renard: hi guys
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_ Mick
    Qt Core: hi mick
    arabella Ella: Hiya Mick!
    Zen Arado: Guten Abend Mick

    Mickorod Renard: merci
    Zen Arado: mercy?
    Mickorod Renard: he he
    Susi Alcott: lol
    Zen Arado: c'est vrai :)
    Agatha Macbeth: D'accord
arabella Ella: So Susi ... if I may ask ... what do you see as the value of silence?
Susi Alcott: the sorce of life
    Susi Alcott: that is
Mickorod Renard: I could do with saucing up my life
Zen Arado: I have been going to silent zen retreats for about 6 years now
arabella Ella: some ketchup perhaps Mick?
Agatha Macbeth: Don't be saucy Mick
    Susi Alcott: (needs the dictionary)
    Mickorod Renard: :)
    arabella Ella: or Worchester?
Zen Arado: and I don't really notice the silence now
    Mickorod Renard: worcester
Bertram Jacobus: may be a good sign zen : you look deep may be
arabella Ella: or felfel would make you more saucy
    Agatha Macbeth knows it well
Zen Arado: there is still so much goes on anyway
Susi Alcott: might than Zen be cuz you share the local phenomenas atm so strongly ?
    --BELL--

    Agatha Macbeth: Yay!
    Zen Arado: about time !
Mickorod Renard: yes,,seems to av bin a long winter
arabella Ella: here it is summer already ... seems to be
arabella Ella: some people were swimming in the sea today ... tourists of course
Susi Alcott: here is ice and snow still
Bertram Jacobus: of course ? why is that ? ;-)
Susi Alcott: from Finland maybe ?
Zen Arado: it probably feels hot to them :)
Bertram Jacobus: i meant ara sry ...
arabella Ella: i was gonna say ... probably from Finland ... he he
arabella Ella: the sea here is already much warmer than in Finland in summer i guess
    Susi Alcott: understands that easily
arabella Ella: us locals ... we take it slowly
arabella Ella: i start swimming in May
Susi Alcott: where is this your local ?
    Bertram Jacobus: ah ok ty
    Zen Arado: you have surf?
arabella Ella: altho it is tempting on a lovely day like today
arabella Ella: I am from Malta Susi in the Mediterranean ... where are u from?
    Zen Arado: big waves?
    Susi Alcott: Finland
arabella Ella: we rarely have surf
arabella Ella: ah ... have been to Finland a few times and have many friends there too :)
Susi Alcott: ah yes; your today's phrase is hot for us here
    arabella Ella: yes
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Mickorod Renard: I had a friend who lived in Pori
Zen Arado: I lived in Sydney for 8 years and used to surf
arabella Ella: have been to Oulu, Turku and Helsinki
Susi Alcott: but we also have 'onsens' to swim in warm water in the middle of ice and snow
arabella Ella: not much surf in the Med Zen and when there is it is too dangerous as waves are then so high
Susi Alcott: they sure are man made
Bertram Jacobus: i´m leaving again - ty for your presence all here ! may all beings be happy please ...
    arabella Ella: nite Bert!
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_ Bert
    Zen Arado: bye Bert :)
    Qt Core: bye bert
    Mickorod Renard: by Bert,,be well
    Agatha Macbeth: Night Bert
Susi Alcott: and yes; Malta is one such place that finnish people do travel much as the tourist
arabella Ella: well my friends in Finland are mainly work contacts but they all love to visit
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Zen Arado: David Beckhame had his foot operation in Helsinki
    Susi Alcott: understand
Zen Arado: must be good doctors Susi :)
arabella Ella: brb ... RL phone
Susi Alcott: finnish education and demandings are very high that one may practice anything concerning people's health
Zen Arado: David Beckham would only go to the best I think
    Susi Alcott: think so too
Agatha Macbeth: He can certainly afford to
Mickorod Renard: yes,,he's got the money
Zen Arado: no NHS for him
Agatha Macbeth: Good job, he'd probably be retired already
Qt Core: don't even know if he is going to pay or his team
Zen Arado: England won't win the wrrld cup now :(
Susi Alcott: have 'always' thought that Finland could be 'the hospital of the Europe' for many reasons
    Agatha Macbeth: They wouldn't anyway
    Zen Arado: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: No strikers
Mickorod Renard: have you been on a silent retreat Zen?
Susi Alcott: the most big reason to that is our 'empty' country with much nature
Qt Core: it seem that the usual destinantion of injured players is finland, holland or rome
    Zen Arado: yes Mick
    Zen Arado: many
Mickorod Renard: the have Peter Crouch
    Agatha Macbeth: Exactly
    Mickorod Renard: :)
    Zen Arado: Rooney
Agatha Macbeth: One man doesn't make a team
    Qt Core: and Capello ;-)
    Zen Arado: exactly :)
    Agatha Macbeth nods
    Agatha Macbeth: Ok, two men
Mickorod Renard: I was picking up on the reference to silent retreat as I arrived
Zen Arado: I usually go to 2 or 3 a year
    --BELL--
    Mickorod Renard: wow
Agatha Macbeth: He gets about our Zen!
Zen Arado: there is one coming up shortly
    Zen Arado: http://www.blackmountainzencentre.org/8.html
Mickorod Renard: I am ok with silence..I like company
Zen Arado: it is getting too much for me though
    Mickorod Renard: yes?
Mickorod Renard: why is that may I ask?
    Zen Arado: my disability
Mickorod Renard: ahh,,you mean getting to them?
Zen Arado: place isn't very accessible and I get worn out
    Mickorod Renard: yes
Agatha Macbeth: Sorry to hear that Zen
Zen Arado: no being there and keeping up with the schedule
    Mickorod Renard: ahh,,ok I see
Zen Arado: have to get up at 5.30 am
    Mickorod Renard: yikes
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh dear
Zen Arado: and it doesn't finish until 9.30 each night
    Mickorod Renard: long days then
    Zen Arado: hours of meditation
    Zen Arado: facing a wall
Mickorod Renard: mmmmm..I may find that too much as well
    Agatha Macbeth: I certainly would
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_ Arch
    arabella Ella: back
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Arch
    arabella Ella: Hiya Arch
Zen Arado: you have to have a meditation practice at home first I think
    Mickorod Renard: Hi Archy
    Zen Arado: Hi Arch
    Qt Core: hi arch
Zen Arado: then do zazenkai (one day retreats)
    Archmage Atlantis: hi
Zen Arado: you work up to it
Zen Arado: the second day is the worst
Zen Arado: then you kinda get into it
Zen Arado: and the time passes quickly
Mickorod Renard: I would have cracked by then
Zen Arado: it's only the thought of it
Zen Arado: the mind wants stimulation
Qt Core: being a "wordy" person i'm strangely attracted and scared by things like that
    Zen Arado: hates stillness
arabella Ella: I was too Qt
arabella Ella: and I had no clue how I would react when we had Malta retreat
arabella Ella: but it went very well and was a great experience
arabella Ella: with one siltent day
Zen Arado: after a while there is a strange attractiveness to that silence
    Zen Arado: a peacefulness
    Qt Core: brb
    arabella Ella nods
Mickorod Renard: I have to go home,,
arabella Ella: i must go ... g nite all and thanks for interesting chat!
Susi Alcott: might the movement which is to live, rise from need to get what one do not have...
Zen Arado: I fnd myself wanting to go for that
Mickorod Renard: nice seein u all
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_ Mick
    Zen Arado: you too Mick
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I'll be moving on too. Take care all
Zen Arado: I better go too I guess
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_ Agatha
    Zen Arado: bye all
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_ Zen
    Susi Alcott: hm
Susi Alcott: either of you knows of this 'Talking Stick' ?
    --BELL--
Susi Alcott: ah; got the note card now
Qt Core: interesting but for sl discussion it should have a script that would mute others ;-)
Susi Alcott: dont now follow...as one can mute even items when wants....
Susi Alcott: ah..you mean this stick ?
Qt Core: yes ;-) and about heated, crowded discussions
    Susi Alcott: hm...
    --BELL--
Susi Alcott: ah ...you mean that it should mute all to other Av's also ?
Qt Core: yes, don't know how the "passage" could be implemented but i've been in discussion where that would be helpful\
Susi Alcott: understand you very well, just that cuz anybody having this, could use it also easily the wrong way then...at least untill somebody would eject such person...
Qt Core: it would me more like a single object than when touched would add the avatar to a list of people booked to speak
Qt Core: like the president/chancelor in parliament houses
Susi Alcott: that is good idea
Susi Alcott: that sure would need the chair man to 'use the list'...then the chairman would have huge power
Susi Alcott: sure it would need people to chooce and give that power
Qt Core: no people, all scripted (as for my idea)
    Susi Alcott: ah ok
    Susi Alcott: imo
Susi Alcott: no matter the rule when it's accepted with all paritcipants
Qt Core: with nice people nothing like that is needed, that would be a noxious people controlling device
    Qt Core: obnoxious
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone
Yakuzza Lethecus: 2 hrs overtime :)
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_ Yakuzza
Yakuzza Lethecus: what´s the topic ?
Qt Core: at the moment the talking stick
    Qt Core: hi yaku, btw
Qt Core: we were thinking about a scripted object that would gave out the right to tak and mute the others and manage a booking system for people wanting to talk
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, i saw something like that on the roadside philosophers today
Susi Alcott: (interesting title; used to call my pa and me as the child to be 'kitchen philosophers)
    --BELL--
Susi Alcott: -> both of you ;what would you suggest to be the time to have the right to speak ?
Yakuzza Lethecus: hmm, i believe we often don´t need a talking stick because there ain´t that many too talkative ppl around :)
Qt Core: when no one else is and you have something useful to say ?
Yakuzza Lethecus: i rarely consider what i want to say as useful
Qt Core: yes, useful was too strong, not bad
Susi Alcott: ah; as the base Qt's idea is to mute desturbing Avatars
    Qt Core: would suffice
Qt Core: maybe even them have something to say, a different point of view, the problem is having everyone have the chance to tell theirs
Yakuzza Lethecus: a combination of radar and talking stick would be great
Yakuzza Lethecus: to have a list of ppl in one mode whom are supposed to speak
Yakuzza Lethecus: and another time a mederation mode where one gives the rights to someboedy in the list manually
Qt Core: i was more about an object that when touched would add you to a list of "going to speek" people
Yakuzza Lethecus: and then a mode where maybe the first locks his right for a while
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes as another mode maybe
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good night now
Qt Core: this is one of the script i have in my "script i want to create if i ever start scripting"
    Qt Core: night yaku
    Susi Alcott: hm...might he crashed...
Qt Core: mmm, he said good night
Susi Alcott: or there's huge chat lag again bothering me ?
    Susi Alcott: ah ok
    Susi Alcott: didn't get that
Susi Alcott: have got this chat lag quite much lately
Qt Core: i had a little an hour ago
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Susi Alcott: not so long ago all my IM's was captured
Susi Alcott: imo such lags that makes probs to communication creates much sad things
Qt Core: never had real problems, now thinking about how can impact
    --BELL--
Eden Haiku: Would you like to sit a few minutes and see how it is like? Or not?
    guest: sure
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_ Eden
    Qt Core: hi eden
    Eden Haiku: Hi Qt,
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_ guest
    Qt Core: and hi guest
    guest: hi
Eden Haiku: I was showing my friend around. I did not know the meeting was still on.
Eden Haiku: Have you been here from the beginning?
Qt Core: between being to lazy to go elsewere and the people coming late for dst i'm still here ;-)
    Qt Core: yes
Eden Haiku: Wonderful to see you Qt. And Susi, it has been a while!
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Eden Haiku: Were you discussing a special topic?
Susi Alcott: where more with silence
Eden Haiku: Oh, let us share your silence for a little while then.
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_
Eden Haiku: We will be moving on now, Thank you both for this moment,
    Qt Core: thank you
Susi Alcott: thank you Eden and guest
    --BELL--
Qt Core: time to go, have to do a couple things before sleeping
Susi Alcott: wish you pleasent night
Susi Alcott: and thank you _/!\_
Qt Core: sleep well you too Susi
    Susi Alcott: _/!\_
