Much better today! Turns out that 30 hours of sleep was (in this case) much better than going to a doctor, taking medicines, having tests, etc. :-) So much so that I managed to finally get back in my new time zone by staying up till 10 pm, but then I got very sleepy during my sitting. In any case, I was glad that I didn't skip any day of sitting, and with some luck tomorrow will be a `normal' day. :-)
I enjoyed the rich harvest from yesterday's comments; listening now to the Benedictus -- YES, many sayings in the Bible map quite closely onto such essential advice as "getting out of the way".
And hang in there, Wester, I admire your courage of working with and writing about that so directly!
I have been thinking of updating my computer lately - it's 3 1/2 years old. But I read a Tricycle article with this today:
'Zen teacher Reb Anderson says “Stop shopping” is Zen practice in a nutshell. The planet will be better off when we catch on to the idea that more new stuff isn’t what’s going to save us from suffering."
I have to see through this materialistic conditioning. There is such joy in simple things:
'The more joy we have in our lives...... the less likely we are to find ourselves driving somewhere to buy something shiny and electronic.....' Susan Moon edited 21:32, 27 Dec 2011

Sat in the evening for 15 minutes. Very difficult to sit still, both in body and mind. This depression does have its epicentre located at my throat. Maybe next time I can remember to send my breath there.
Thank you guys/girls for the encouragement. edited 22:04, 27 Dec 2011

19:20 Baking some date cookies passed down from my great-grand-mother for New Year's family dinner party. Found the recipe this afternoon, in my mother's beautiful handwriting. Missing her. #timestamp edited 06:17, 28 Dec 2011
Missed checking in for, I think the first time. The long drive home from visiting family stretched longer and longer and so by the time I arrived back in Miami, I was not feeling well at all, laid down for a moment, and am waking 13 hours + later. :) *late check*
