it is now one minute after midnight, and in Japan it has been 3/11 already for half a day, with everybody commemorating the tsunami from which about 20,000 people died, plus the long lasting problems for the survivors, especially those near the Fukushima nuclear reactor. In many ways, the responses from friends and colleagues in Japan to 3/11 have been similar to those in New York to 9/11, during the first week or so after the event: a sense of bewilderment mixed with gratitude for being alive and a willingness to communicate with total strangers. edited 05:07, 11 Mar 2012
Sorry to have missed yesterday... early to bed with a bit of toothache, but such a warm and interesting early evening with Storm and Pila at others at the i-ching meeting which led into our visiting Storm's Karuna-metta meditation which is so lovely. Today may be an especially fitting day for such a practice. ((((Japan))))) edited 12:47, 11 Mar 2012
